The place to go in 1900 was Paris, but unfortunately the Olympic Games were not the hottest thing in town. In fact they were very much a minor attraction. It was the World Exposition that got all the attention. Those who came to Paris might have explored the city's famous restaurants with the Michelin Guide, published for the first time in 1900. Getting around town was made much easier with the new state-of-the-art Paris metro. . Americans felt at home, as Ragtime music was all the rage in Parisian music clubs.. Whoever did manage to notice the Olympics amidst all the other attractions, may have considered taking personal photos, with Kodak's Brownie - the first point-and-shoot camera.
