As the name implies, this mask features unique wrinkles that stretch from the corners of the eyes to the edge of the mouth, encompassing the cheeks. The dull white color expresses elderly elegance well. This mask is used only by the Kanyo School of Noh, in such performances as "Nishi-yuki Sakura" (Westward Cherry Blossom) and "Yukou Yanagi" (Playful Willow).

This mask is used for a kind of Tengu magical mountain spirit.
The mask features lips tightly pressed together. The power put into pursing the lips together makes this mask's eyes open wide. |
This mask is required to provide both a touch of skeptical melancholy, and, at the same time, a little brightness. This mask depicts a different strength than the "Chusho" (Middle Minister) mask and is used in the performance of "Kantan" (The Simpleton).
