![]() From the 16th to the 17th century, Shakespeare's plays were very popular in Europe and many theatres flourished in London.
![]() On the other hand, in Japan, people gathered at Kabuki theatres. Chikamatsu Monzaemon and Tsuruya Namboku were two conspicuous authors of the time.
Today Shakespeare's dramas are still alive after 300 years, and so is Kabuki, including its inheritance of the traditional form.
