![]() ![]() Carl... I invited this guy to be a part of the music section of the north.pole.org site (Remember when I told you about Will's essays? This would probably be the only new content...the rest would be a redesign of what you have up there). I invited him because he would definitely be into it, and would be able to keep doing his own thing while we were off doing the book. Well...this is what he sent me back totally out of the blue. What do you think? I definitely thought I should run this past you before I answer him. (He's got his facts jumbled...it's really north.pole.org he's been asked to contribute to...) (You can check out his page at www.sinatralist.com. He's not a designer...more of an enthusiastic websmith.) Beck PS. I realize I'll be focusing on the book soon...that's why I had the idea to solicit outside volunteers (Don't worry 'bout me...the book will be TOP priority I hope to have the design work on the north pole done before I see you in Cambridge). If we do get audio...it could work very well with Will's essays. PPS. And just for kicks...check this out: http://www.enviromedia.com/apt/ :-) ************************************* Subject: Re: Touching Base Sent: 9/23/96 3:17 PM Received: 9/23/96 12:18 PM From: Joe Berg, joeberg@voicenet.com To: Rebecca Pranger, becky@enviromedia.com
Becky, here's a brief clip from what I'm going to be sending out by mail (and pitching by phone) to anyone and everyone (record companies, producers, artists.. " We've just been asked to contribute to a rather large project, the Internet 1966 World Exposition. Actually, the exposition has been up and running all year, but a 'grand finale' of sorts is now in the works, and it will have a Christmas theme. Out part in it will be a site devoted to Christmas music, and how America celebrates the holidays through song. At the core of this project will be the artists themselves - the singers and musicians. We would like to represent everyone who takes part by putting up their favorite holiday songs - a single, complete track in Real Audio format, with a 30-60 second recorded comment by the artist during which they can say whatever they would like about the song and give a personal holiday greeting to the world via the Internet. Any other PR material they would want to submit (a photo, Christmas CD release information, a plug for a favorite charity, etc) would of course also be included." Whaddya think?
