Manual Dial
The Manual Dial button displays a dialog that lets you make a direct
videoconference call to someone. You may also use it to connect directly to a
videoconference.
In the Address box, type one of the following:
An email address
When you type an email address into the Address box and click the Manual
Dial button, CU-SeeMe Pro automatically connects to an online directory service
to see if the person is online. The directory server that is checked is defined
in the Directory Services section of the Preferences
Editor. If the person is online, CU-SeeMe Pro will place a call.
An Internet (IP) address
An IP address is a unique numeric address assigned to every computer that is
attached to the Internet. An IP address looks like a series of four numbers
separated by periods: 140.249.42.251. When you type an IP address into the Address box, CU-SeeMe Pro instantly places a call to that address when you click the Manual Dial button.
A conference address
You can type the name of any conference in the Address box. For example, to join a conference at the White Pine CafΘ, type: cafΘ.wpine.com. Click the Manual Dial button to go instantly to the default conference on the server you chose.
If you want to join a conference other than the default, click the Conference Options tab at the top of the dialog. This allows you to enter a specific conference
ID to join, and also lets you specify a password if one is required. Click the Manual Dial button to join the conference.
