how to backup and restore your LoopAZoid sample list

LoopAZoid needs to keep a centralized list of all samples used on the computer. That makes it somewhat tricky to re-install the operating system - all used samples would not be found after such a re-install, meaning that all songs would be more or less useless.

However, there is a possiblity to back up the sample list, so it can be restored after a OS re-install:

Windows users:
1. open regedit (hit the Start button, then go to "Run...", type regedit.exe and push Enter).
2. select the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\neXoft\LoopAZoid and choose "export registry file" from the menu.
3. keep the exported file in a safe place.
4. re-install the OS
5. double click on the before saved exported registry file.

now, all your LoopAZoid sample references will be as they were before.

Macintosh users:
1. copy the preferences file (it's on your primary hard disk -> System Folder -> Preferences -> LoopAZoid.cfg) to a safe place.
2. re-install the OS
3. restore the before copied preference file back to it's original location

now, all your LoopAZoid sample references will be as they were before.

always take care! You're responsible for what you're doing! If you do something wrong, you might loose all our sample references!

Still, it's good practice to export patches for all important songs!
