Text area
This is the big white area on your screen. When you type, text will appear
here. In the upper left-hand corner of are two lines:
Insertion point
This blinking vertical line indicates where text will be inserted next when
you type.
End mark
This short horizontal line indicates the end of your document. It moves down
as you type.
The
mouse cursor
becomes different depending what you are doing and where it is located on the
Word screen. In the text area, it is usually an
I beam, which
is a short vertical line.
