BRANDING

There are some possibilities for branding of AxCrypt. It is possible to change the all visible occurrences of 'AxCrypt' to something else, and it is also possible to make it co-exist peacefully with AxCrypt or other branded versions.

AxCrypt has a concept of internal and external product name.

The internal product name is always derived from the filename of the main executable. This internal name is used for registry keys, global identifiers and such internal usage, not visible to a general user of the product.

The external name is taken primarily from the field 'ProductName' in the executable version resource. It may be overridden by HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Axon Data\%IntProductName%\Product Name, where you should substitute whatever the internal product name is for %IntProductName.

REGISTRY KEYS AND VALUES

AxCrypt keeps some persistent data and chosen options in the registry. Most of these are managed automatically, and should not be modified manually.

Currently all registry keys are under the 'Axon Data' key, this is hard-coded and can only be changed by recompilation.

Some values used for branding under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Axon Data\%IntProductName%\ are:

ProductName which value will override the version resource information, determining the external product name.

GUID the local GUID used for this specific installation. This is needed mainly for uninstall issues. Do not change this, or remove!
