gnovchie is a frontend for all common archivers under linux enviroment. It has all the features expected from an archiver, as well as a number of advanced ones, such as compress estimate. gnochive currently supports:
RAR
gzip/gunzip
bzip2/bunzip2
tar
zip
gnochive supports creating of archives with different levels of compresion, locking with password, multivolume and a compression estimate for all archivers currently supported.
To run gnochive, select Application->gnochive from the Main Menu, or type gnochive on the command line. If you installed gnochive from rpm package, gnochive path will be: /usr/bin
gnochive is included in the gnochive package, which is part of the GNOME desktop environment. This document describes version 0.6.1 of gnochive.
