Worst to first

Barry Bonds
Barry Bonds will make his first postseason appearance in a Giants uniform. (AP)
Last season, the San Francisco Giants finished 23 games out of first in the NL West and were just one game removed from the worst record in the entire league. But what a difference a year makes. The Giants throttle San Diego 6-1 behind pitcher Wilson Alvarez on Saturday to clinch the NL West title. Over in Coors Field it's too little too late for the Dodgers, who beat the Rockies 6-1, but can't stop the Giants from securing their first postseaon appearance since 1989.
