What is Namo Theme Editor?
Namo WebEditor 3.x allows you to create a new home page quickly and easily using the Template Wizard. Part of this process is selecting a "theme" for your home page. A theme is essentially a set of buttons, banners, backgrounds, and other graphic elements that share a consistent look. Namo WebEditor comes with over 70 predesigned themes that you can apply to your home page.
New in Namo WebEditor 3.05 is the ability to edit these predesigned themes and even create entirely new ones. You do this using the Theme Editor. The Theme Editor lets you open an existing theme and easily replace some or all of its components. You can then save your modified theme and apply it to your home pages exactly as you would a predesigned theme.
Installation
Double-click the Theme Editor installation file. You will be prompted for a location in which to install the Theme Editor. You can put the Theme Editor wherever you wish, but we suggest putting it inside the Namo WebEditor program folder. For example:
C:\Program Files\Namo\WebEditor 3\Theme Editor\
You should put a shortcut to ThemeEdit.exe on your desktop or in the Start menu for convenient launching.
Usage: Basic Instructions
1. Double-click ThemeEdit.exe.
The Theme Property window appears. (Ignore this for now.)
2. The program
automatically finds the Namo WebEditor program folder and displays a list
of the installed themes on the left side of the Theme Editor window.
3. Click on a theme in the list. The selected theme appears on the right
side of the window.
4. At this point you can edit the selected theme
directly, or you can copy it and edit the copy. (We recommend editing a
copy.) To make a copy of the selected theme, click the Add Theme button
on the toolbar, which looks like a document with a plus sign on it. The
new copy will be named 'Theme0' and placed in the list on the left side
of the window. Double-click 'Theme0' to rename it as you please.
5.
Click on an element of the theme (such as the banner) and modify its properties
in the Theme Property window. (See the next section for details.) Repeat
for each element you want to modify.
6. When you're done editing the
theme, click the Save button on the toolbar (looks like a floppy disk) to
save your changes. Quit Theme Editor, and go back to Namo WebEditor to use
your newly edited or created theme.
Usage: Editing Theme Properties
The contents of the Theme Properties window change depending on the theme element you have selected. There are six different elements in a theme. These are: Banner, Vertical Buttons, Horizontal Buttons, Bulleted List, Text, and Background/Horizontal Rule. Each element is represented by a tab in the Theme Property window. When you click on a theme element in the main window, the relevant tab comes to the front in the Theme Property window.
Each theme element has its own set of properties that you can edit, but in general these have to do with image files, text properties, and text placement. Below is a list of each theme element's editable properties:
Banner, Vertical Buttons, and Horizontal Buttons
- Image file
- Font, font
size, font color, and font boldness
- Horizontal text
alignment & displacement
- Vertical text alignment
& displacement
Each property is repeated for large
and small banners or normal and highlighted buttons.
Bulleted List
- Bullet 1 image file
-
Bullet 2 image file
- Font, font size, and font color
(repeated for Bullet 1 and Bullet 2)
Text
- Font, font size, and font color
- Link colors (normal, visited, active)
Each
font property is repeated for formats Heading 1, Heading 2, and Paragraph
(except
for font size, which is not repeated for Paragraph).
Background/Horizontal Rule
- Image file (repeated for horizontal
and vertical background image)
- Background color
- Horizontal rule image file
To use a different image file in any theme element that involves an image, click on the folder icon next to the appropriate image file field and select the desired file in the theme's subfolder. Only files in the theme's subfolder can be selected, so if you want to import an image file from somewhere else, you should copy it to the theme's subfolder using Windows Explorer.
There are three check boxes in the upper right corner
of the main window:
- Horizontal: Use this check box to
toggle between the theme's horizontal and vertical implementations
- View With IE: Use this to preview the theme using Internet
Explorer in the same window
- Mark: Use this toggle the
display of positioning guides for editing text displacements
The main Theme Editor window updates automatically when you edit any property.
Usage: Toolbar

Copies the currently selected theme.
The copy is named Theme0 (or Theme1, Theme2, etc.) and placed in the list
of themes in the left portion of the main window. Also, a new subfolder
for the theme is created in the themes folder, and the contents of the original
theme are copied to the new theme's subfolder.
[Delete Theme]
Deletes the currently selected
theme, removing it from the list and deleting its subfolder.
[Theme Property]
Opens or closes the Theme Property
window. The Theme Property window is opened automatically when you launch Theme
Editor.
[Reload]

With IE' check box is checked.
[Usage: Renaming

prompting you for the new
