BTCV
BTCV are an organisation that arrange voluntary conservation work all over the country and occasionally internationally. They have offices in most areas of the country and you can either contact them or read about the opportunities here.
Eco Volunteer
An innovative site that aims to give conservation projects a chance to get the manpower they need, and nature enthusiasts the possibility to become more active. From here you can volunteer to be a part of environmental projects the world over.
Environmental Campaigns - Links
Here you can find direct links to a well categorised list of important organisations involved in the environment and conservation. They range from political links to pressure groups and organisations covering a wide range of topics.
Friends of the Earth
The largest international network of environmental groups in the world. The Friends of the Earth site has information about all their current campaigns and contains details about how you can get involved or support the organisation.
Greenpeace
The Greenpeace website has information about the activities of the organisation, educational resources about the environment and conservation, news stories and details about how you can join up and take part in campaigns. An informative site.
The Water Ways Trust
Not a very exciting website but a genuinely good cause, they encourage public involvement in activities aimed at increasing awareness and involvement in Britain's network of waterways. Contains lots of useful information and links to other useful sites.
World Wildlife Fund
This is the global site of the WWF. It provides some excellent and persuasive information about all of the work that the organisation is involved in as well as details about how you can get involved and loads of news stories to keep you informed.

Are you doing your bit? This government backed initiative has been set up to demonstrate how even the smallest actions can dramatically help improve bit the local; environment and the global situation. Well worth a read.
Earth Pulse
A well put together site crated by National Geographic that focuses on a wide number of conservation and environment issues. As is to be expected from this organisation, the content is of the site is well written and very informative. An excellent site.
Ecology.com
A good source of information about global conservation and ecology issues, scientific research and has gardening tips for environmentally conscious people everywhere. It is updated regularly and has some good coverage of current issues.
The Energy Saving Trust
Set up after the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, to help reduce CO2 emissions in the UK. The site is full of information about saving energy and can help you to find simple but effective ways to reduce your impact on the environment.
The Environment Agency
From here you can access a lot of the official government information about the environment. This includes statistical information about the current state of various aspects of Britain's environment and a loads of advice about how you can do your bit.
Learn about endangered species
EE Link
An American site that is full of links to web resources about endangered species the world over. It is obviously particularly good for learning about wildlife in the US but the international information is also very good.
EndangeredSpecie
A basic looking but good site that contains a lot of information about endangered species around the world. The site is organised into categories to make it easier to find the right information and has a section just for kids.
The Redlist of Threatened Species
This site provides comprehensive and detailed information about the endangered species of the world. The site has been created by the World Conservation Union and the amount of information available is immense. One of the definitive sources on the web.
Start or sign a petition online
Global Stewards
Not a very attractive site but it has links to a number of large international petitions that you can sign online. Covers a wide range of environmental and conservation issues and includes an 'activists toolkit' to help you organise a campaign.
Go Petition
Create a petition online on pretty much anything you want. This site has a specific UK section but also has other global areas so you can reach people all over the world. You can get help with creating petitions and managing any petitions that you start.
Petition Them
A good site that lets you set up petitions with potentially unlimited reach, on almost any issue. You will get help managing any petitions that you create and you can read or sign any other petitions that exist on the site.
The Petition Site
A large range of different petitions to read and sign, covering loads of different environmental, political and human rights issues. An interesting site.
