ABOUT JAMIT FRACTIONS

For many students, fractions is where the failure in math begins. Children often have problems with fraction concepts and mechanics. Jamit Fraction is a unique software that can make a difference. It is suitable for students who have just started learning fractions and for students who are already familiar with basic concepts, but need more practice and challenge.

The topics are presented in several short lessons. Each lesson contains a complete reference, written in simple and clear language. The use of HTML allowed for cross linking of terms, definitions (for example, if a student does not remember what the denominator is, he can easily click on the word, read the definition and come back).

The dominating part of each lesson is a practice game. Each lesson has its own, completely different game. The game generates fraction problems to be solved. The student has all the help at hand. He can access corresponding references and examples without leaving the game, he can ask just for a little hint or request a solution with a full explanation. Each game has 4 difficulty levels, from very easy to hard. The easiest level is illustrated for better visual understanding.

HOW TO USE JAMIT FRACTIONS

The best way to use Jamit fraction is to start with the first chapter, read the first lesson references and try to solve examples yourself, later moving on to the practice game. When the first chapter is completely mastered, the next chapter should be mastered the same way. This is the proper, systematic approach in which one should always learn math.

But for whatever the reason is, most of the people prefer to start from the middle, then move to the end, then read a little from the beginning... Well, it is not the most efficient way of learning, but it is sometimes difficult to fight the strange human nature (or even more strange student nature) so it can be done. If you start with comparing mixed numerals and you do not know what the mixed numeral is, you will still have to go back to the first lesson.

Younger kids would rather play games, leaving references for parents... But it is OK with Jamit Fractions, they will still learn a lot.
