Features of PACT WinBzzzz 98
Set the size and position of a window per shortcut. Test your webpages at 640x480 and
800x600. Set a new browser window where you prefer. Position windows that don't keep their
position quick and exactly. Quick buttons for 640, 800, 1024. Start and position per batch
file! Automatic shortcut creation.
Usage
Let's assume you have a folder window open and want to size it to exactly 300x200.
Click on the upper small window tool and drag the ring tool over the folder window and
release it. The "Window Title" should be the same now, the "Window
Class" might be of interest later.
Now enter the the position and size you want to set, for example Left: 1, Top: 1, Width
640, Height 480. Then click on the button "Bzzzz Now". The Explorer window
should jump to the upper left corner of the screen.
There is one thing not to forget: a full screen window on a 640x480 screen does not
have the size of 640x480. The borders of a full screen window are not displayed but add to
the window size. That's why, when you click the lower full screen buttons, the current
frame size of usually four points is added.
Shortcuts
You can create a shortcut now to set the same position later by just starting this
shortcut. As with all shortcuts, you can enter a hotkey to start the shortcut. However,
for the shortcut to work you need to keep it either on the desktop or in your Start menu.
There's one adjustment that you might want to make: the "Window Class" in the
above example, specifies whatever Explorer window is topmost. But if a "Window
Title" is given, only this very window will be moved.
If you specify an exact "Window Title" here, the shortcut will only work on a
window with the exact same window title. You might want to empty the "Window
Title" box, then create the shortcut, so that the shortcut works - in our example -
on every window of the "ExploreWClass", that is, any new Explorer window.
Batch File to Start and Position in one Step
Create a new text file and rename the extension from ".txt" to
".bat". The file should have two lines, the first opens the folder, the second
starts WinBzzzz. The following example would explore the My Documents folder and place it
in the upper left corner:
explorer /e,"C:\My Documents"
"C:\Program Files\PACT WinBzzzz\WinBzzzz.exe"
/N'My Documents' /C'' /L2 /T2 /W648 /H488
Let WinBzzzz create the second line: click on "Create shortcut on desktop, switch
to the desktop, right-click on the new icon, select Properties, then Shortcut, and just
copy the Target line to your batch file.
