Quick Start...
Here we'll take you through a simple test run that will help you in creating simple comparison report of 3D accelerators.
1. Run 3DMark 99 Max
2. Analyze Results with the Result Browser
3. Publish Results
4. Compare the results world wide

1. Run 3DMark 99 Max 1. Run 3DMark Benchmark or your customized test set
(Detailed instructions how to run a benchmark in 3DMark 99 Help. Test set customization is a feature available only in 3DMark 99 MAX Pro).
After running a benchmark you get a score table if you have run at least the both game scenes.
2. Describe your project by clicking 'Edit Description'
3. Save your results by 'Save Project'
(Hint: Save all projects in same testing folder to ease further analysis)
4. Use 'Global Compare' and 'HW Upgrade' to take advantage of 3DMark global testing environment.
5. Select 'Close'
6. Exit from 3DMark application and shut down Windows
7. Change the next 3D accelerator to be tested in your computer.
8. Restart your setup
9. Rerun 3DMark.
10. After testing the last 3D Accelerator, select 'Result Browser' at the score table to start Result Browser.

2. Analyze results with the Result Browser 1. Select
[Open] from the Tool Bar to pick projects to your testing database.
- Browse to your testing folder
- Click on project names. Hold Ctrl -key down to choose more than one project.
- Click 'Open'.
2. 3DMark has produced extensive analysis of your setup. You may browse the results by clicking
and
buttons or simply by choosing the test category from a the pull-down list. You can sort the projects by clicking the
button.
3. You can also see
- Results as figures by choosing 'Details' page.
- Projects listed with short details choosing 'Projects' page
4. If you have run Image quality tests, you can compare Images produced by hardware rendering with your testing setups to software rendered reference images by choosing 'Image Quality' -page.
5. On 'Properties' -page you can rename your testing database to describe your testing session. You can also change scale of results from relevant units to percentage based results.

3. Publish Results A. Print standard reports
- Select a Database or a Project by clicking on it's name in the Result Tree on the left side of the screen.
- Click
[Print Preview] from the Tool Bar.
or- Click
[Print] from the Tool Bar.
B. Create custom reports
- Choose a figure or chart in the Workspace area by clicking left mouse button on it.
- Click
[Copy] from the Tool Bar.
- Paste them to your other applications, such as Microsoft Word or Excel.
NOTE! 3DMark results publication is restricted by license agreement you have agreed to. You may publish results only if you describe testing environment extensively (description is available at Details page in Project window and can be exported to text file as instructed under title Publishing results below) and refer in your report to Futuremark Corporation and to www.3DMark.com. 4. Compare the results world wide 3DMark is a global testing environment. You can submit your results to 3DMark results database and compare your setup with setups around the World. More information about global analysis you can be found on www.3dmark.com.
Easiest way to use the global database is to select the Project you want to submit from Result Tree by clicking left mouse button on it, and then clicking 'HW Upgrade' or 'Global Compare' on the Tool Bar.
At the moment you are only able to submit one Project at a time. It is not possible to submit Databases.
