CD's HTML-Format | |
Thank you, that you have downloaded HTML-Format. CD's HTML-Format
is a powerful HTML editor you won't miss anymore.
By using HTML-Format you accept the licence aggreement to be found at http://www.homepagehelper.de/HTML-Format/ .
Please provide some
feedback to me after you have worked with
HTML-Format for a while. This will motivate me to further improve the product.
Feedback can also be conveniently provided via menu item "Internet:
Support" in the Help menu. The installation description you will find in file installation.htm and the licence aggreement in file " nutzungsbedingungen.htm ". If you are not familiar with the JRE frm SUN, you will find detailed information about it in file " java-beschreibung.htm ". If you still use JRE 1.2, I recommend to upgrade to the most actual JRE provided by SUN. JRE 1.2 is significantly slower than JRE 1.3 and better. |

CD's WebAnalysis Plug-In
The WebAnalysis plug-in contained in the JAR-Archive is shareware.
If you want to use it, you must register it under
http://www.homepagehelper.de/. Please
read file
webanalyse.htm contained in the archive. The plug-in
is based on commonly valid rules and my experiences with search engines collected
during several years. Please support the shareware idea and register the plug-in even
if you need it not very intensively after you have optimized your pages. Please consider that without the plug-in you would have to spend a lot of time to do the optimization. By registering the plug-in you support the continuous improvement of all my freeware and shareware offerings. There is also a stand alone form of CD's WebAnalysis. This application provides all the functions of the plug-in and in addition features automatic serach engine registration. After I received your registration, you get the registration code for both, the plug-in as well as for the stand alone version. |

Win 9x Considerations | |
If you use JRE 1.3 under Win 9x, please start HTML-Format via file HFnodraw.exe. |

Win NT Considerations | |
To allow all users their own configuration of HTML-Format you
can specify a directory under "Options/Admin", in which the configuration file of
HTML-Format should be stored. You should map a part of the relevant user directories
to this folder but you can not use variables. A valid example is "H:\ini\HTML-Format"
Under Win NT/2000 you should invoke HTML-Format via file HFwin.exe. HFnodraw.exe works as well, but is mainly designed to solve a problem that exist with JRE 1.3 under Win9x. |

Linux/Unix Considerations
Linux is a multi user system. As the Admin function of HTML-Format to set the user directory (mapping parts of the user area e.g. H:\ini\HTML-Format) works with hard coded directories rather than with variables you should start HTML-Format via script HFlinux.sta (contained in the archive). The script generates a hidden sub-directory "~/.HTML-Format" in the home directory of the relevant user. This hidden sub-directory is used to store configuration files and links to the help files. Prior to the first start of HTML-Format you have to set the variable "JAVA_HOME" to the Java directory and the variable "HF-HOME" to the HTML-Format directory. In addition you have to make the script startable via the "chmod" command. The script is in principle usable in any unix environment. |
