SoundSpinner MP3

  Adding files to an Album

It's quite easy to add files to an album. You can either click one of the add buttons or use Drag and Drop in Finder.

The items stored in an album is not the actual sound files. Instead SoundSpinner stores aliases to the files added to the album to keep the album's file size small. The actual sound files can e.g. be stored on your hard disk, Zip disks, network volumes, CD-R and CD-ROMs.

 The Add Buttons

Click one of the Add... buttons in the Album's toolbar:
Add Buttons

The Add Folder button lets you select a folder or disk in which SoundSpinner will search. All playable sound files will be added to the Albums play list.

Since SoundSpinner examines every file in the folder and all sub-folders, this command may take a few seconds if you choose a disk or folder containing many files.

The second button, Add File, lets you select a single file which will be added to the current Album.

 Using Drag and Drop

You can also drag a disk, folder or music file icon in Finder and drop it into the list view of an open album. All playable sound files on the disk or in folder will be added to the album automatically.
Drag and Drop Files

If the disk or volume that contains the sound file isn't mounted when you later open the album, the track's title is displayed in italics. When you click on a missing track, the missing volume's name is displayed at the bottom of the album window to help you locate disks and network volumes.
