Web Finder plugins
Web Finder's plugin architecture is what distinguishes it from its competition; but what exactly are Web Finder's plugins?
Web Finder plugins contain the information needed to perform a search on a particular Internet search engine. Rather than have a product with limited built in support for a small amount of search engines, Web Finder gives you the ability to customize the way you search.
The search engine menu can be customised by adding or removing plugins from the Web Finder Plugins folder:
To add a Web Finder plugin: drag it to the "Web Finder Plugins" folder inside the "WF Support" folder.
To remove a Web Finder plugin: drag it out of the "Web Finder Plugins" folder and place it in the "Unused plug-ins" folder
With Web Finder Factory LE (supplied with this package) you can quickly and easily create new plugins for search engines that are not supplied.
With the release of Web Finder 4.0, Web Finder plugins have been greatly enhanced. It is now possible for one search engine plugin to contain information on all its available channels.
Browser Plugins
Web Finder also has another type of plugin - a browser plugin. These plugins extend the number of browsers available when using the "Browser Toggle" option for retrieving results in Web Finder. Browser plugins are stored in the "Browser plugins" folder. Each plugin in this folder can be enabled or disabled from the preferences dialog.
