Creating a File Blocking Rule

On the right of the Novatix Cyberhawk Settings File Blocking tab are six buttons: New, Copy, Modify, Delete, Check All, and Uncheck All.

 

 

You must first highlight a rule for these buttons to be active. If no rule is highlighted, the Copy, Modify, and Delete buttons appear as dimmed.

 

To create a file blocking rule:

 

  1. Click the File Blocking tab.

  1. Click New.

 

The File Blocking Group dialog box appears.

 

  1. Fill in the Name and Description fields.

  1. Type in the name of the file(s) you want to block.

  1. Click the + to add in the name of the files or file patterns you want to block.

  1. Highlight a file or file pattern you have chosen to block and click Remove to remove it.

  1. If you want to allow any specific files, add them to the Except these specific files field by typing in the name of the file(s) you want to allow.

Click the + to add in the name of the specific files you want to exempt from the rule.

To remove an exception, highlight the file and click Remove.

  1. Click OK.

 

The rule appears in the File Blocking tab Blocked Files box.

  1. Click Apply at the bottom of the File Blocking tab to finalize any changes.
