You know an application is frozen, so why doesn't it just die already? A single CTRL+ALT+DEL maneuver will bring up a task menu from which you may select a non-responding program to close. However, it still has 20 more seconds to get its act together. To decrease that time frame, open up REGEDIT and navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ System \ CurrentControlSet \ control key. Right-click somewhere in the right-pane and create a new 'String Value.' When prompted for a label, use "WaitToKillServiceTimeout" (without the quotes). Then, you should be able to set its value to a regular number from 1 to 20.
