Most of us have become very reliant on the mouse since Windows 9x surfaced. However, pointing and clicking isn't always the quickest way to complete a task. Keyboard shortcuts are everywhere, although their default assignments aren't always apparent. In Microsoft Office, you can "turn on" the display of keyboard shortcuts within the tool tips! In the menu, click on 'Tools,' 'Customize,' then select the 'Options' tab. Then be sure that the 'Show ScreenTips on toolbars' and 'Show shortcut keys in ScreenTips' boxes have checkmarks inside. From that point on, you'll see the keyboard shortcut in parenthesis alongside the button's description in any given Microsoft Office application. NOTE: not all functions have shortcuts.
