I had to fight Gretchen tooth & nail to get her to uninstall 90% of the fonts she never used. Half of them (in my opinion) looked similar anyway. What's one good way to compare one installed font against another? Well, you could "open" the fonts you wish to compare (directly in the Fonts folder). But a simpler way might be to open up WordPad (or any other RTF-capable word processor) and type in the same word/sentence (each one with a different font). It's quick, easy, and pretty straightforward; I can see exactly what the differences between font faces are immediately.
