PagePro 6L - The Windows Champion
A highly affordable laser printer with easy to use Plug
& Play Windows printing
Following the introduction of the PagePro 6,
a fast, compact PCL5e printer,
Minolta reinforces their low-end line-up with another member of the PagePro 6
family under the motto "compact, convenient and unconventional".
The PagePro 6L is the member of the PagePro family
dedicated to the Windows
environment. Equipped with a smart Quickpage driver, featuring an enhanced
graphic user interface, this printer receives host information in Windows format
without further processing on the printer side.
The PagePro 6 family of printers shares features users may
not expect in a printer
of this size such as a two way paper feeding system which provides both a standard
150 sheet input tray and a manual sheet feed with first priority for letterheads or
cover sheets. Further paper input is available in the form of an optional 250 sheet
second paper tray.
Making use of a clever two-in-one cartridge system with
built-in environmental benefits
over the single cartridge, these small printers keep all the advantages of fast, no fuss
replacement as the drum cartridge remains in the printer for the duration of 7 toner
cartridges, ensuring improved cost per print.
The PagePro 6L will be available from May 1997 onwards.

PagePro 6ex - The best connections for better
business
Langenhagen (Germany), October 1997. Following the introduction of its
network printers and their colour laserprinter, Minolta reinforces their low-end
line-up with another member of the PagePro 6 family under the motto "compact,
convenient and unconventional".
The PagePro 6ex, successor of PagePro 6e, lives up to its maxim
"Heres one to serve two - or even three!" offering unusual
flexibility
through its choice of interfaces. As standard it is equipped with a bi-directional
interface, a high speed ECP interface and an additional Infrared interface which
allows laptop and notebook PCs to transmit print data without connecting and
disconnecting or needing to transport the printer to another location. Sporting an
Intel 80960SA CPU and RAM of 2MB, as standard it guarantees high-speed
processing and printing at maximum engine speed. The PagePro 6ex can be
upgraded to 34MB.
Like the PagePro 6, it has PCL5e on board and also uses a graphics compression
with 600dpi output that is boosted to near 1200 by the use of a super-fine toner
with Minoltas Fine-ART (advanced resolution technology). In addition the
PagePro 6ex comes up with fixed cassettes which will protect the paper from
dust and humidity.
The PagePro 6 family of printers shares features users may not expect in a printer

The launch of Minoltas first colour laser printer:
"Color PagePro"
Targeting a new market and price segment
Langenhagen (Germany), 29th July 1997. Following the
successful introduction
of the network-capable PagePro 12 and PagePro 20 laser printers,
Minolta is now
continuing its offensive in the high end segment with its fast colour laser
printer,
Color PagePro. The Color PagePro which is the crowning product of
Minoltas first
complete range of laser printers based on its own printing engine
technology,
offers amazing value for the price.
This has enabled Minolta to enter a completely new
price range in the laser printer
market. In addition, the hi-tech company is targeting a new market segment
with
its Color PagePro, which can be used both as a workstation printer and for
networked
office environments. The versatile Color PagePro is the ideal solution for
Office users,
who wish to prepare their own overhead transparencies, text or graphics
in-house
from Windows applications such as PowerPoint.
Due to its networking capability, the Color PagePro
also represents a reasonably
priced alternative to colour ink-jet printers which tend to be used as
single work
station solutions in work groups. With optional Adobe Postscript Level 2,
the
Color PagePro is also ideal for graphic designers and advertising agencies.
The Color PagePro can also be operated as a 12 ppm
black and white laser
printer. The standard model, using PCL5c printer software, is based on the
fast
Intel i960 JF RISC processor and is capable of producing three full colour
prints
per minute. Ethernet or Token Ring network cards are available as options.
A 4Mb
standard memory, expandable up to a maximum 68Mb, supported by innovative
data compression, guarantees that even complex graphics and other large
volumes
of data can be processed without any problems.
Minoltas Color Profile combines outstanding 600
dpi print resolution with space-saving
design and excellent paper management functions. Like virtually no other
printer,
the Color PagePro (total paper capacity: up to 650 sheets) is capable of
printing an
enormous spectrum of print media from standard paper, through overhead
transparencies up to 157 gsm card.
The Color PagePro PS , targeting at the Apple
Macintosh and Graphicdesign
environments, offers the same benefits as the ColorPagePro. It comes
standard
with 20 MB RAM and Adobe PostScript Level 2 to meet the sophisticated
requirements
of those users.
The Color PagePro PS will be available End of 1997.
