LessTif is known to build and execute on most UNIX platforms,
both commercial and free.
This page used to list in detail on which platforms
(OS name and version, CPU, compiler, X version) we'd received
reports that LessTif can be succesfully built and run on.
We removed the detail for two reasons :
- it all depends on
libtool,
and you'd better read about supported
platforms in the libtool documentation
- the details change all the time
Here's an undetailed (is that a real word? wow) list :
- Linux (x86, Intel clones, ..; Alpha; 68030)
- MkLinux (PowerPC)
- Solaris, SunOS (SPARC)
- FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD
- OS/2 Warp
- Digital UNIX
- AIX
- HP/UX
- CygWin32 (Windows 95 or NT with
Cygnus development tools)
You do need an ANSI C compiler, such as GCC.
