Making the Computer Detect the New Device |
|
Run the CMOS(BIOS) Setup program to detect the
new hard disk drive. |
|
What
is CMOS Setup? | It's a program that controls
the computer's basic details, such as date and time, memory
capacity, and disk drive status. Because it gets recorded
in the CMOS IC, these recorded details are not lost when
the computer is turned off. |
|
|
1. Go into the CMOS screen while booting the
computer. |
|
For details of the program, refer to the computer's user's
manual. |
|
2. Place the hard disk drive on the bracket
and set it with the screws. |
|
If your computer supports IDE HDD Auto Detection, the hard
disk drive will automatically be detected. If your computer does not support auto detection, go into the
User Define Mode and, referring to the Parameter Chart,
set the correct settings for Cylinder, Head, and Sector and
if some BIOS must be set the HDD Mode to LBA |
|
Example |
|
 |
|
If you select the type from the IDE Adapter Primary
Master, Slave section,
Autotype Fixed Disk : [Press Enter] will appear on the screen
at this time. If you press Enter, the hard disk drive will automatically
be detected |
