Partitioning and Formatting the Drive
Newly installed hard disk drive must be partitioned and formatted before it is able to be used.

For details of the program, refer to the computer's user's manual.
2. Place the hard disk drive on the bracket and set it with the screws.

General FDISK
2.1G limit FDISK
If you want to use only 1 drive, select all the disk space available by the hard disk drive. and if you want to use 2 drives, divide the disk space. Hard disk's maximum capacity recognized by DOS and WINDOWS 95(OS R1)version is 2113 MBytes (1 MByte=1,000,000 Bytes) or 2015 MBytes(1 MByte=1,048,576 Bytes) so if the hard disk drive has larger capacity, it must be divided. If the hard disk's jumper is set as booting hard disk drive(Master), check to make sure that the Status setting is set at A (Active). For the SOFTWARE users of higher than WINDOWS 95(OS R2)Version, (Windows 98 included), select 'Large Size' or 'Large Disk Support' in the FDISK program.(drives with capacity larger than 2.1 GBytes, both FAT16/FAT32 may be used). This is due to support capability of over 2.1GBytes in Windows 95(OS R2) Version.
3. Reboot with a booting diskette.
4. Run FORMAT program and format the hard disk drive.
If you divided the drive into many drives(D:, E:, etc.), by running partitioning program, you must format all the drives.

NOTE: For the booting hard disk drive (C drive with Master jumper setting), you must include /S option when running the format program for the hard disk drive to boot.

A> FORMAT C: /S.

Cation: FDISK and FORMAT programs erases all the data on the hard disk drive so make a back-up before running FDISK or FORMAT programs.
5.Installing DOS and Windows 95/98 (Refer to Windows 95/98 user's manual to install Windows).
If your system does not recognize the whole capacity, refer to the below.

In case of 10 GB or larger HDD in the whole capacity, system does not recognize capacity larger than 8.4 GB,

In case of 40 GB or larger HDD in the whole capacity, system does not recognize capacity larger than 32 GB
