OmniWeb Help : Reference : OmniWeb Preferences : General

General

The General preferences allow you to set your default web browser (OmniWeb, of course!), your Start Page (often referred to as your home page), whether or not Page Icons (also called favicons) are displayed, and whether or not the location field presents an autocomplete drop down. You can also enable Speech Recognition allowing you to control many aspects of OmniWeb using your voice.

Default Web Browser: Use this pop-up menu to tell Mac OS X what browser you prefer to use for opening HTTP and HTTPS URLs. The menu is a list of every application available which appears to be a web browser. Select OmniWeb here, of course, because we love you and want you to be happy.

Start Page: Pick one of these to choose what page will load when you create a new window or tab:

Page Icons

Show page icons offered by web sites: Web sites have the ability to specify an icon that can be used to represent their site or a particular page. When this option is enabled, OmniWeb displays these icons in place of the normal URL/Bookmark icon.

Location Bar

Automatically complete addresses while typing: With this setting enabled, OmniWeb will present you with a drop-down list of matches as you type into the location bar. Matches are gathered from your bookmarks, history and Shortcuts.

Speech

Navigate web pages using speech recognition: OmniWeb uses the speech recognition capability built into Mac OS X to recognize various commands you can use to perform different actions while browsing. See Speech for more information.
