About
CD to WAV/MP3 Ripper
CD to WAV/MP3 Ripper is your complete solution for converting
your audio CDs to the WAV or MP3 file formats. This process is also
called digital audio extraction, or "ripping". CD to
WAV/MP3 Ripper is one of the most powerful conversion tools on the
Internet, and makes ripping custom digital music from CDs a snap.
You can rip to WAV for burning custom mixes, or rip to 15 different
choices of MP3 bitrates. When ripping to MP3, files are encoded on
the fly, with no temp file made. The Ripper uses the newest, fastest
and highest quality ripping engine available. CD to WAV/MP3 Ripper
features an intuitive WinZip style interface, with CD controls for
previewing and playing your CD tracks. The Ripper creates a very
small memory footprint, so you can smoothly multitask during
conversions. Best of all, this software is free, and will never
expire.

Troubleshooting
and Common Errors
- Missing file errors (Runtime 339) MSVBVM60.DLL or MSCOMCTL.OCX
If you experience missing dll or OCX errors, such as Runtime error
339, the fix is simple. MThree software requires certain system
components to run correctly (Visual Basic 6 Runtime files). These
necessary files are published by Microsoft. Go to www.mthreedev.com/support.html
to download these necessary files. Run the downloaded installers and
your problems will be fixed.
-
Other Common Errors
My CD is not reading correctly, or my drive is not being
detected.
Chances are, your ASPI layer is not up to date. This means that the
drivers that your computer uses to read your CD drive need to be
updated. CD to WAV/MP3 Ripper includes the latest ASPI layer in its
installer. If you have problems, try re-installing the Ripper, and
when you are prompted to install ASPI update, select Yes and follow
the instructions.
Ripping Process Gets Stuck, or
quits in the middle of a track
This can happen if the CD you are ripping has inconsistencies or
scratches in it that impede your drive from reading it correctly.
Make sure your CDs are as scratch and dust-free as possible before
attempting to Rip. Our ripper uses jitter-correction but can not
avoid every error.

Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQ)
- How do I add tracks to the file-list for conversion?
Make sure you have an Audio CD in your drive before starting the
Ripper. If your CD tracks do not appear, click "Read CD".
You can then select all or some of the tracks to convert by checking
the boxes next to them.
-
Where are the converted files outputted?
If you click on the Output button, you will be prompted to select an
output directory. Alternately, if you select tracks and click Rip
without defining an output directory, the prompt will appear and you
may select the directory.
-
When I click "Rip" , then "Begin", I see a bunch
of numbers... How long will it take to Rip CDs?
The speed of ripping is dependent on many factors. Bitrate, encoding
type, speed of processor, amount of free memory, OS, size of CD
tracks, and speed of your CD Drive. These can all contribute to
different levels of performance. Typically our Ripper is extremely
fast- for example ripping on a 32x CD-ROM drive occurs at 20x. No
temp file is made when ripping to MP3- encoding is done on the fly.
-
Why do my CDs play when I start the ripper?
To be able to read the CD tracks from your CD, our program must spin
your CD in the drive. This plays the CD, but you can click the
"Mute" box to mute the music. You can also click
"Stop" once your tracks have been read.
