Quick Start

Welcome to BackItUp!. The program allows you to make backup copies of files in your device's memory on an expansion card (such as a SD card, Memory Stick, etc).

Backups

- Select the files you want backed up by tapping the 'Select files for backup' button and making your selection.
- Schedule the date and time for automatic backups by tapping 'Set backup schedule' or tap 'Backup now' to immediately back up your selected files.

Restoring from backup

- Select the files you want to restore from a previous backup by tapping the 'Restore files' button and making your selection.
- Tap 'OK' to restore the selected files.

Help

Help is available in each dialog:
- In the main screen select 'Help' from the menu
- In other dialogs, tap the 'i' button in the top right corner of the dialog to get help for that dialog.

IMPORTANT

Each backup operation replaces the previously backed up files. This method was chosen (versus cumulative backups) in order to make the application simple to use and prevent the memory card from being filled up with redundant backups.

Selecting Files For Backup

From the main screen, tap the button next to 'Select files for backup' to bring up the file selector dialog:

'Select Files For Backup' Dialog

The file selector dialog lists all the applications, control panels, system libraries and associated databases in your device's main memory.

The dialog lists files in alphabetical order by application (program)/library/control panel name in bold type. Any associated databases are listed with the application in normal type.
