Adding or changing Images
Description:
- local image: an image managed (and uploaded) by
SiteGenWiz. With the 'Select' button you can pick an image.
If you select an image that is not in the userfiles folder it
will be copied there. You can convert and/or resize a local
image. You can rename an image or save it under an other name
by selecting a different output name with the 'Rename'
button. Also, you can rotate the image with the buttons below
the image preview window.
- external image: an image located on another web server or
outside the scope of SiteGenWiz. E.g. this is useful for web counters where
image address looks like this:
- image attributes:
- Border size in pixels (0: no border)
- Border color (if border size greater than 0)
- Space horizontal/vertical: space between the image and other objects
- Let text float around the image (on/off; if on, select image position
(left or right)
How-To
To insert an image select the 'Insert/Edit Image' icon from the
Editing Toolbar (second icon from right). To modify an image set the
cursor to an existing image first.
Importing Images
If you select an image not located in the userfiles folder it will be
imported and stored into the userfiles folder. You can import images of
type BMP (Bitmap), GIF, JPG and PNG. Files are stored in formats JPG,
PNG or GIF only (these are web standard image
formats).
JPG files are smaller but at lower quality
PNG files consumes more space but quality is better
GIF is a common web image format, but supports 256 colors only
Resizing Files
Avoid to resize a large image to a small one and then resize again to a large
one. This decreases image quality a lot.
