So, why am I talking about Windows 2000 so much nowadays? As I've mentioned countless times, it's Microsoft's tastiest flavor of Windows at this point. You'll probably be using it soon, too. After all, Whistler (the next Windows) is based on the NT kernel. Need another reason to upgrade to 2k? Drive mounting. Get your mind out of the gutter, dude. NOTE: this tip was written for experienced users. Right-click on 'My Computer' and select 'Manage.' In the 'Computer Management' window, select the 'Storage - Disk Management' option. In the bottom right-hand panel, right-click on a drive letter and choose 'Change Drive Letter and Path...' Lockergnomie Douglas Rockney recommends against choosing 'C' or the drive containing your W2k code. "The best choice would be a CD, Zip, Jaz, or other removable drive." Once selected, click the 'Add' button and then the radio option: 'Mount in this NTFS folder.' Press 'Browse' to either find an empty folder or create a new folder. Bingo: a mounted drive.
