Hey, when was the last time you took a look at yr AUTOEXEC.BAT or CONFIG.SYS files? If yr still loading proggies like SHARE.EXE and ANSI.SYS, let me ask a question: why!? Yr just wasting valuable memory space. Go through it today, if you can--but don't delete lines--use the "REM" command. Just put "REM" (minus the quotes) before each line you think you can live without. And I tell you, unless you need to load DOS drivers for yr devices, then you prolly don't even need to have either of these two files. Seriously, if you seldom shell to DOS to do anything, then don't even bother loading anything with these two files. Once more, don't delete lines--REM them first. That way, you can always remove the "REM" if yr computer isn't doing things correctly. Heck, did you know you can edit these files (along with WIN.INI and SYSTEM.INI) from within Win95/98/NT? On the "Run" line, type in "SYSEDIT" and watch what pops up.

Don't you hate downloading a file only to find that it covers up or is covered up behind another icon on yr desktop? Well, here's a tip: move all yr icons to the RIGHT side of yr Desktop, because no matter what, when something appears on the desktop for the first time, it will pop on the LEFT side first. Minimize the hassle and make the move to the RIGHT side of the screen with yr Desktop icons (if you haven't already). Keep only what you need on yr Desktop--if you have more than 10 icons, start putting things into the Start Menu. That's what it is there for, gang. :)

If you installed MS Office 95, you can remove the "Microsoft Office Find Fast" shortcut from yr StartUp group--another great waste of time, space, and CPU clock cycles.
