Safari Icon   Setting how pages are displayed

You can specify how pages appear when they open in Safari, including the fonts used, whether or not to display images, and your own Cascading Style Sheet (CSS).

Many web pages specify their own fonts. Your font settings only affect pages that do not specify fonts. Web pages may specify style sheets that override your style sheet.

Choose Preferences from the Safari menu then click Appearance.

To change the standard font or fixed-width font used in pages, click the appropriate Select button. Then choose the font you want to use in the Fonts panel.

To prevent displaying images when pages open, deselect the "Display images when the page opens" checkbox. Turning this off makes opening pages faster, although you may miss important information.

If text in the web pages you open doesn't displaying correctly, you may need to select a different encoding from the Default Encoding pop-up menu. Choose an encoding that is appropriate for the language of the web pages you view most often.

If you want to use your own Cascading Style Sheet, choose Other from the Style Sheet pop-up menu. Locate the Style Sheet and select it.

You can also control the content displayed in some pages using Security preferences.
