Handling of language

11-1. About Han Unification

In the Unicode table, 2 byte language characters (Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese) whose shapes are resembling each other are handled on the exact same character code, which is called Han Unification. Thus even the characters which uses different codes on each Character set, JIS, GB, Big5 and KIS are regarded as same characters on the Unicode.

Muwse is designed to pass characters to Unicode table holding attributes of languages as long as possible.

For example, even Japanese has following characters, but they will be regarded as Roman.

Muwse will handle these characters correctly however, as indication by common web browser and Japanese environment will be different result, these characters should not be used on web site.

Korean characters range over many symbols and marks. Not all of characters available in Unicode, you cannot use even the characters included in KIS, if they are not included in EUC-KR.

Following KIS characters are unavailable on Unicode.

Even though Muwse can handle these characters correctly, you should not use these characters on web site because they are not defined on Unicode.
