4. Item's Cleaning Conditions
- This set of controls shows and allows to edit conditions under which the item will be cleaned.
- It also shows and allows to edit default file and folder settings.
Actions and Tasks
° Configuring Cleaning Conditions
- As a first step, select one of three options:
° Respect General Settings   Item will be cleaned when General Settings are fulfilled. (General File Settings for files, General Folder Settings for folders).
° Always Item will be cleaned everytime the Clean! action is performed.
° Item has Item will be cleaned if its age or size (or both) matches given criteria.
- If you choose 'Item has' option then you must configure its age or size criteria or both:
° Age   Item's age is period from its creation date till current date. Just select condition (=,>,<,...), type the age number, and select age units (Hours, Days, Weeks, Months, Years). To clean item which is more than one month old you have to select ">", enter "1" as age, and select "Months" as unit.
° Size Files only. Size means number of bytes (or kilobytes, etc). Just select condition (=,>,<,...), type the size number, and select size units (B, KB, MB, GB). To clean file which has more than 100 KB you have to select ">", enter "100" as size, and select "KB" as unit.
° Items Folders only. This means number of items in the folder. Just select condition (=,>,<,...), and type the items number. To clean folder which has more than 100 items you have to select ">", andenter "100" as items count.
- There's a special option for folders only:
° Remove folder contents only   Checking this option will cause that items inside the folder will be cleaned and folder itself will not.
Notes
- Item's age in the list will be shown in the same units as selected Age unit in item's cleaning conditions.
- There is a one thing that may seem unlogical when measuring item's age. Let's say an item was created on 1/1/2000 at 0:00:00. In real life, that item is one month old on 2/1/2000 exactly at 0:00:00. Any second before this date it is younger than 1 month, any second after this date it is older than 1 month. You should perform Clean! action just in that one second (!) to clean item which is set to be cleaned when it is one month old. That wouldn't be clever.
Cleaning Agent therefore counts age just like you when counting your age. If you are 25, you are 25 for the whole year. Even one day before your 26th birthday you are still 25. Actually you are 364 days older than 25 and only 1 day younger than 26. That 364 days do not matter at all. That's exactly the way Cleaning Age counts item's age. The only difference is that in our example we were counting with 'Years' as unit. Cleaning Agent also counts with other units (Months, Weeks, Days, Hours).
- Cleaning Agent measures the file sizes using the same principle like with age, only units are different (bytes, kilobytes, megabytes, gigabytes).
