Converting: Sound Attributes

Waveform data has attributes including sample rate, bit-depth, and stereo/mono channel.

MySoundStudio allows you to set sound attributes such as sample rate and bit-depth to convert the file to the format that fits your needs. Lowering sample rate or bit-depth helps you reduce the file size but degrades the sound quality. You can also reduce the file size down to half of the original by changing the channel attribute from stereo to mono.

If you are planning to distribute the file over the Internet or as a multimedia title, you can increase the performance by reducing the file size.

Changing sound attributes by using Effect - Attributes

Sample Rate affects the characteristics of the high frequency band. If a sample rate is set to 44,100 Hz, you can play the sound up to 22,050Hz (in general, the human ear can perceive frequencies ranging from about 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz). Bit Depth refers to the resolution relative to the sound volume. In general, 16-bit sound has higher sound quality than 8-bit sound. Audio CDs use sample rate of 44,100 Hz, 16-bit resolution, and stereo channels.
