Envelope

The Envelope command lets you graphically edit the transition of the sound volume over time.

When you choose Effect - Envelope, the view of the multi-track window will change as shown below. In this mode, the red horizontal line is displayed at 100% level (default volume level) on individual track.
By editing this red line, you can set the transition of volume level.

Editing Envelope

There are two ways to edit the envelope: Drag the default handle, or add a new handle to create the complex transition. You can use either method or both.

To edit existing handles by dragging them:

  • Drag the handles on both ends of the line to make a slope.

To add new handles:

  • Place the mouse pointer on the point you wish to add a handle on the line (the pointer changes to ), and then click the mouse button.

  • Drag the new handle to draw a volume slope.

To remove handles:

  • Place the mouse pointer on the handle you wish to remove (the pointer changes to ), and then right-click the mouse button.
Please not that handles on the end can not be removed.

To rest handles to the default setting:

  • Click the Reset Handle button.
Default line (a horizontal line at 100% level) will be restored.

If the Group On/Off button in the Mixer Control window is ON , handles on the tracks that belong to the same track group are linked together.
If the Group On/Off button is OFF , each handle works individually.
By turning on and off the Group On/Off button, you can efficiently edit handles.
