Working with Effects (general)

Where effects will be applied

When you edit sound waves in MySoundStudio, the effect are basically applied to the waveform selection. If there is no selection, any of Effect menu commands (except Insert and the Attributes) command affects the entire track (s) that are currently active.

The Insert command inserts currently selected waveform on the active track at the point where the cursor is flashing if there is no selection. Attributes always affects all tracks regardless whether there is a selection or not.
Effect dialog boxes

Each of commands (except Reverse and Mute) available in the Effect menu provides a dialog box that allows you to specify the its parameters.

[Preview]

Many of these dialog boxes provide the Preview button that allows you to listen to the audio with the effect without actually affecting the audio you are working with. This is useful way to find the best settings that produce the most desirable effect.
Once the preview starts, you can not do any other operation until the preview ends. If necessary, you can change the duration of the preview from the File - Settings.

Wave Form

Most of the effect dialog boxes also display the waveform preview to show how the waveform image would look like when the effect is applied.

Sliders

Many of the sliders available in this dialog work in two different ways, depending whether you click or drag and where.
Place the mouse pointer ( ) over the thumb and drag it, or place the mouse pointer () somewhere (except the thumb) on the slider and click the mouse button.

Drag the thumb.
Click on the slider.
