This driver contains the WDM driver used to support Microsoft WebTV for windows and videoconferencing in Microsoft Windows 98.

Microsoft WebTV for windows currently can only support VGA cards that are capable of overlay mode. This means that some VGA cards will NOT work properly if you try to use Microsoft. Uninstall AVerMedia VXD Driver

(BT848/9)

Before attempting to install the WebTV drivers onto you computer system, you must first remove the existing AVerMedia drivers. To remove these drivers, do the following:

A. Remove the INF files. (AVerTV98.INF or TVPhone.INF and AVerMediaAVerTV98.INF or AVerMediaTVPhone.INF). Because of previous installation versions of AVerMedia software, your system may contain differing file names.

  1. In your Windows directory, enter the Inf subfolder. Find and delete either the AVerTV98.INF or the TVPhone.INF file.
  2. In the folder titled Windows/Inf/Other, find and delete either the AVerMediaAVerTV98.INF or AVerMediaTVPhone.INF file.

 

B. Remove the AVerMedia Video and Audio drivers.

  1. Click Start, Settings, then Control Panel. Double-click on the System icon. Click on the Device Manager tab.
  2. Under the Sound, Video and Game controllers directory:
  3. a. Remove the driver named AVerMedia TV98 Capture Device or AVerMedia TVPhone/TVCapture Capture Device.
  4. Restart your machine. You will now be ready to install the WebTV Drivers for Windows 98 .

 

AVerMedia WebTV Driver Installation Guide

(BT848/9)

Before attempting to install the WebTV drivers onto you computer system, you must first remove the previously installed drivers. To remove these drivers refer to the section titled Uninstall AVerMedia VXD Driver.

Included with your AVerMedia Package is a diskette labeled "WDM Driver for Windows 98 (BT848/9)." This diskette contains software that will enable your card to run WebTV with your Windows 98 operating system.

NOTE!

Installing this driver will disable all other application drivers.

A. When you double click on the Add New Hardware icon in the Control Panel, the Add New Hardware Wizard will appear. Click Nextto continue.

 

 

  B. Choose Search for best driver for your device (Recommended). Click Next.

 

 

C. Make sure the Floppy disk drives check box is selected and the WDM installation diskette is placed into your floppy drive. Click Next to continue.

 You should always refer to the AVerMedia TV Series Fleet installation CD disk for installing the correct drivers. Do not attempt to install drivers from the Windows 98Ò installation CD-ROM only: these may not work correctly.

 

 

D. Click Next to install the AVerMedia WDM Video Capture driver to your system.

 

 

  E. When the Video driver installation has completed, click Finish.

  

Uninstall WebTV Drivers from your System

(BT848/9)

Should you decide that you would like to uninstall the drivers that enable WebTV to be used with your card, do the following:

A. Remove the TVFLEET_WDM.INF file.

    1. In your Windows directory, enter the Inf subfolder. Find and delete TVFLEET_WDM.INF
    2. In the folder titled Windows/Inf/Other, find and delete the AVERMEDIATVFLEET.INF file.

B. Remove the AVerMedia 848/9 WDM Video Capture driver.

    1. Click Start, Settings, then Control Panel. Double-click on the System icon. Click on the Device Manager tab.
    2. Under the Sound, Video and Game controllers directory:
    3. a. Remove the driver named AVerMedia 848/9 WDM Video Capture
    4. Restart your machine
