The Graphics options allow you to customize your graphics settings to find the best balance between performance and graphics quality.
Figure 44 – Control Pad Graphics Options
You can select between five predefined settings for graphics quality ranging from Best Performance (for lower end computers) to Best Quality (for high end computers). If you would like to customize your settings instead of using any of these defaults, click on Customize Configuration.
You can select what resolution the image thumbnails for the browser and Picture Panels are initially created at within the World. Changing the resolution after the initial creation will have no effect on the existings images. The lower the resolution, the better the performance, but the lower the quality of the image is.
You can select what bit depth the images for the browser and Picture Panels are displayed at within the World. The lower the bit depth, the better the performance, but the lower the quality of the image is.
You can turn off various special effects in the scene to help improve performance. You can turn off the light maps which removes the shadows from the World, particle effects which turns off effects such as fire, smoke and steam, multitexturing which turns off reflections and detailed textures, and decorative objects which removes the non-functional objects such as furniture from the World.
You can set the maximum frame rate that the World will attempt to display at. The lower you set your frame rate, the less of an impact the 3DNA Desktop will have on system performance while the desktop is active.
You can select what level of mipmapping occurs within the World. The lower the mipmapping, the better the performance, but the lower the quality of the image is. Setting this to Low forces bilinear mipmapping, while the Normal setting uses trilinear mipmapping.
Before uninstalling the 3DNA Desktop it is critical that you make sure that the software is not running. This can be done by:
To properly complete the uninstall process follow these steps:

The performance of the 3DNA Desktop depends on how well your computer can run 3D applications and games in general. There are some very basic things that you can do to improve the general performance of your PC system regardless of how you use it.
Make sure that your Windows installation is up to date.
Make sure your 3D graphics card drivers are up to date.
The most common cause of problems when running new 3D applications is due to using graphics card drivers that are not up to date. It is very important that you obtain the latest drivers for your system.
To determine which 3D graphics card you have, follow these steps:
You can obtain the most up to date drivers from your card manufacturer’s Website.
There are also several performance gains that are specific to the 3DNA Desktop if you feel that the desktop seems to be moving slowly, in addition to changing your Graphics Options. These are especially important if your system is only marginally better than the minimum system requirements.
Reduce your screen resolutionNote: Changing your color depth to 16 bit mode may introduce unusual 'zebra stripes' to appear on the textures in the World. We recommend that you try to run the desktop in 32 bit mode.
