Create and arrange terrain objects
Terrain objects define the landscape of a scene. The arrangement of terrain objects adds depth to a 3-D landscape. In this lesson, you'll create mountains and arrange them using the reposition and resize tools.
To create a terrain object
To reposition a terrain object
- Click Edit to flip to the Edit palette.
- Click the upper X arm of the Reposition tool, and drag to the left to move the terrain toward the back of the scene.
- Click the upper Z arm of the Reposition tool, and drag to the right to move the terrain toward the center.
Watch the Nano-preview window to track your progress.
- Repeat Steps 2 and 3 until the terrain is positioned in the back left of the scene.

To resize a terrain object
- Click the center of the Resize tool, and drag to the right until the terrain stretches across the scene.
- Click the Edit land objects button
, located to the right of the object, to reposition the terrain to rest on the ground plane.
