Group and render Metaballs

After you've completed the body, head and eyes, you'll group them. Grouping lets you control a set of objects as a single unit.

To group the dragonfly

  1. Click the Time/Selection palette toggle Lets you switch between Wireframe and Bitmap display modes at the bottom right corner of the screen.
  2. On the Selection palette, click Select Metaballs.
  3. Click the Group objects button Lets you group two or more objects located to the right of the selected objects.

To render the dragonfly

Next, you'll render the dragonfly to see what it looks like so far. In wireframe display mode, the default mode in the working window, Metaballs are represented as distinct spheres. To see how they blend together, you must render the object.

  1. Click the Render button to view your scene.
  2. Return to Wireframe display mode by clicking the Display modes icon on the Advanced display palette. Switch from the Bitmap display mode icon Indicates that you are viewing a rendered scene to the Wireframe display mode Indicates wireframe mode icon.
