Fill the lake

To fill the lake, you must first create a new water plane object. Then you'll apply a materials preset to change its appearance. Then you'll lower the water plane below the main ground plane so that it shows only through the hole created by the negative boolean operation.

To create and modify a water plane object

  1. On the Create palette, click the Water plane tool.
  2. Click the triangle next to Edit.
  3. From the Materials preset selection panel, select Waters & liquids.
  4. Click the Waves of reflection thumbnail.
  5. Click OK.

To fill the lake with water

  1. Click the triangle on the left side of the window to display the View options menu, and choose From front.
  2. Click the Wireframe underground button Lets you see objects that are below the ground plane to display underground lines.
  3. Click and hold over the Infinite plane tool on the Selection palette.
  4. From the list, choose Plane 2.
  5. Click Edit to display the Edit palette.
  6. Using the Reposition tool, move the water plane along the Y axis until it is just below the ground plane.

  7. Use the View options menu to switch back to Director's view.
  8. Check the Nano-preview window to ensure that the water plane has filled the inverted terrain.
  9. Click the Render button to complete your project.
