Place a radial light inside a glass sphere
You will now use a radial light to illuminate the sphere from the inside. Radial lights throw light equally in all directions. To make the light shine through the sphere, you will apply a glass material to the sphere.
- In your scene, select the sphere.
- Click the triangle beside Edit to display the Materials dialog box.
- Select the Glasses category, and select the material of Red glass.
- Click OK to close the Materials dialog box.
- On the Create palette, click the Radial light tool.
- Hold SHIFT, and select the sphere in your scene. Both the radial light and sphere should now be selected. Make sure that the Text display area in the lower left corner of your screen indicates that 2 objects are selected.
- Click Edit to display the Edit palette, and click the Align all tool.
- Render your scene.
