Manually Adjusting the Flash and Backlighting

To manually adjust the flash and backlighting:

  1. On the Browse tab, click the album to display thumbnail views of the images in the album in the Album View window.

  2. In the Album View window, double-click an image to open it in the Image View window.

  3. Click the down-arrow on the Adjust button and choose Adjust, or choose Image > Adjust to open the Adjust dialog, and then click the Flash/Backlighting tab.

  4. Adjust the slide controls.

  5. Add Flash Drag the slide control to adjust the brightness of the flash and open up the shadows in an image.

  6. Reduce Backlighting Drag the slide control to adjust the contrast and bring back details lost in bright areas of the image.

  1. To view the adjustment without exiting the Adjust dialog, click the Apply button.

  2. When you are finished making adjustments to the image, click OK, or to make another adjustment, click the tab for the adjust­ment that you want to make.
