Use the Thumbnails tab to change the display size of thumbnails, select a new background template for program windows, and modify the memory and disk cache options.
Why is the cache important? The program displays images in windows as thumbnails. The cache file stores important information about the thumbnails so that the thumbnail images display quickly when an album is opened.
To configure thumbnail options:
Choose Tools > Options to open the Options dialog, and then click the Thumbnails tab.
In the Properties group box, choose thumbnail options:
Size drop-down list, choose the display size of the thumbnails (Small, Medium, or Large). Click the Apply button to preview the thumbnail size.
Background drop-down list, choose a theme for the background of the program window. Click the Apply button to preview the background theme.
In the Memory Cache group box, set the maximum number of thumbnails cached into memory.
In the Disk Cache group box, click the Move Cache Folder button to change the directory where the thumbnail images are cached.
From the Store Thumbnails for drop-down list, choose an option:
No Files The program will not cache thumbnails.
Offline Files Only caches offline thumbnails that are stored on removable media (CD’s, floppy disks, etc.).
Offline and Large Files Caches offline and large thumbnail files.
All Files Caches all thumbnail files.
Cache Size Increase the size of the cache file to make thumbnail images load faster.
Click OK to close the Options dialog.
