The Preferences dialog allows you to specify application preferences, including your SMTP mail server name and e-mail account information. You can show the Preferences dialog by choosing the Preferences command from the Edit menu.
- SMTP mail server
- Type the name of the host that you use to send mail.
If your mail server uses a non-standard port, you can specify a port number by typing a colon (:) and the port number after the server name. (Example: smtp.yourisp.com:25)
- SMTP Options
- Click this button to specify additional options for the SMTP server, including authorization information, mail format verification, and a From Account. The SMTP Options dialog will be shown.
- E-mail Accounts
- This list shows the e-mail accounts that have been defined for mail forwarding.
- To add a new account, click the Add button. The Add Account dialog will be shown.
- To change an account, select the account from the list and click the Change button. As a shortcut, you can double-click the entry. The Change Account dialog will be shown.
- To delete an account, select the account from the list and click the Delete button.
- Default Forward to
- Type an e-mail address to use for accounts that do not have a forwarding address specified. If you have several accounts that are to be forwarded to the same e-mail address, you can use this field to avoid entering the address into each account. This field is optional.
- Forward mail automatically
- Click this box to automatically forward mail at the specified Time Interval. Any errors that occur during automatic mail processing are shown in the Mail Forward Log window.
- Time interval (minutes)
- Type the number of minutes (10-9999) to wait between automatic mail processing runs.
