When
downloading is in progress, you may want to work with other programs and that
is when the Target Icon will help you. Just choose Show Target
Icon from the 'Window' menu and you can have this little window work
your behalf. You can drag and drop URL addresses to the Target Icon, which
will always remain on top, and iGetter will put this file in the queue with
normal priority (with or without force - see 'Start
downloading immediately' in Preferences).
With double clicking in the Target Icon, you can show the Main Window.
Hide/Show
the Main Window - This functions hides/shows the Main Window.
Search
menu functions:
Files, Music,Most Popular, Top Rated, New Files - with these search/chart
functions of iGetter you can quickly search file URLs or view the weekly charts
in the iGetter Search Center.
Tools
menu functions:
Integrate
with Internet Browsers - This function toggles whether or not iGetter
to use a plug-in to redirect all downloads activated within the web browser
to iGetter. You must quit all opened browsers before
setting this function. This function works only with the file types
specified in the 'Integration' preferences of iGetter.

Monitor
Clipboard - If this function is checked, iGetter will monitor the clipboard
for a valid URL. If it is one of the file types specified in the 'Integration'
preferences, iGetter will add it to the download queue.
Process
web page... - This function is useful for processing of all download links
of a top opened Web page.
The Links
tab of the Process Web Page window, reveals a table with all processed download
links. You can select any file for inserting in the iGetter queue just with
checking the check box before it. You can use the Filters options in the Options
panel to apply group filtering over the links with specific criteria.
The Options
tab of the Process Web Page window, lets you select which files from the Web
page should be added in the iGetter queue.
Choose
download folder:
Path
- The path field determines the download folder for these files. With
the 'Choose' button you can quickly set the folder filter where this
download to be placed or browse for a new folder.
Add
this folder to filters- If checked, the specified
new folder will be added to the Folder
filters.
Filter
by extensions - This lets you easily filter the files by type if
you want to just download a specific type of file. The pop-up shows all
File extension filters specified as extension
queue filters in iGetter.
The Custom item gives you opportunity to write a specific
file types:
Extensions
- When the Custom pop-up item is chosen you can add types of
files with a comma separator between them.
Add
this extensions to filters as "extension filter" -
This option allows you to create, from a custom typed extensions, an
extensions queue filter with a given
name.
Filter
by hosts - Here you can choose hosts whose download files should
be selected in the Links table.
Schedule
downloads - With this very useful function, you can schedule your files
to download at low traffic periods.
Schedule
download start-Check this box when you want to schedule
automatic downloading to start. You can use the following options:
Start
time - This is the time when you want iGetter to begin downloading
the queue. This time applies to the specified date/days of the week.
The Schedule Start function sets Automatic downloading to ON.
Start
date - In this field you can specify the exact date for starting
automatic downloading.
Start
on selected days - Here you can set multiple days of the week
when iGetter will start downloading your files.
Hang
Up modem when done - This function will hang up your modem when
all downloads in the queue are finished. This event occurs only if the
schedule download function has started.
Redial
modem if disconnected - This function will reconnect your modem
to the Internet when it disconnects, until all file downloads in the
queue are finished.
Schedule
download stop - This option group specifies the time when iGetter
will automatically stop (hang up) your connection to the Internet. This
function sets to OFF the Automatic Downloading function and hangs up your
modem PPP connection.
Stop
(hang up) at this time '#' - Here you can set the time at which
iGetter will stop automatic downloading and hang up the modem (if you
are using a modem connection).
Stop
(hang up) '#' minutes from now - You can use this countdown
clock to stop downloading (and hang up) measured from the time of clicking
the Set button.
Turn
off computer when done - This function executes in one of two cases.
Your computer will be turned off immediately either:
if the
downloads in the queue are finished, after schedule download start activation;
if the
schedule download stop time occurs.
If
you have partially downloaded a file that is not queued in iGetter you can
put this file in the queue with Recover lost downloadfunction
in the Tools menu. This function will be activated immediately if you double
click on a lost file download.

Downloads
menu functions:
You
can Reveal in Finder your file download. With the contextual menu or
from Downloads menu->Reveal in Finder function you can find your file any
time you want. This is useful when a download has finished and you want immediately
to find and use it.
Set
download to pending - With this function the selected file goes in Pending
state. This state allows the automatic downloading function for this download.
Obey
Speed Limit - This function lets you choose the speed limit for downloading.
At the right bottom corner will appear a placard with the text 'Speed Limit'.
Here you can set the speed limit using the vertical slider. The top position
will turn off the limitation over the speed of downloading and iGetter will
work in an unlimited speed mode. The most bottom slider position sets the
minimum download speed to 200 B/s. Read more about

Edit
menu functions:
Restart
downloadis a function that will restart your download from
the beginning. You may use this function when you are sure that your file
is corrupted. However, you may never want to use this function.
Item Settings - With this function, you can change a
file name, location, number of segments for this download and Folders filter
group later if necessary. This function works only if the download is not
in progress. You may use it in cases when you want to: download the same file
from another source (or change an error in the URL), use more or less number
of segments, change the download folder.
This function is similar to New URL function.
Delete
the download. You can do this in several ways. You can delete the download
via the contextual menu, or by selecting the file and choosing Delete in the
Edit menu, or by dragging the item to the trash, or by pressing Cmd + Backspace
on the selected download. When you delete a download from the queue iGetter
will ask if you want to delete the file itself or just its listing in the
queue. If you choose only to remove the file from the queue, you can later
use the 'Recover lost download' function to add it again to the iGetter list.
