Search for Icons

There are two ways to search icons. With the keyword bar (like the address bar in the Internet Explorer) or with one of the preset searches at the left, functioning like a folder tree.

Keyword bar
A keyword describes the content of an icon, rather then the function. All icons matching the keyword will be shown in the results window. Select a keyword from the dropdown list with your mouse or type a keyword and press {ALT}+{ARROW DOWN} or {ENTER}. If the typed keyword is not present, the first keyword is select with {ALT}+{ARROW DOWN}. If no keyword is found with {ENTER}, nothing happens. IconBook can also search in your favorites folder for matching icon file names.

Preset search
A preset search, available in the left pane under the IconBook tree, will show all matching icons in the result window, regardless of the icons keywords. It can happen that an icon will be shown double if the type matches the preset search and the keyword is different.

Some preset searches may take a while to finish when there are a lot of icons to be found. Just press the Abort button to stop searching or press Esc.
