In version 3.0 a reference to an animated icon (ANI) was stored by adding only one reference to one of the icons of the animated icon to IconBook. To reduce errors while removing such a reference, this procedure has been changed. All icons of an animated icon should now be added to IconBook in the correct order with the same keyword and icon type. So if you want to add a 256-color animated icon which consist of 3 icons under the keyword ‘Folder’, you should add all three in the correct order with the same 256 color animated icon type and with the same keyword ‘Folder’.
If you install IconBook 4.xx over your 3.0 version, IconBook will not read the referenced icons from IconBook 3.0 correctly.
Before installing IconBook 4 you can open the Iconuser.dat file (in the IconBook program folder) in Notepad and cut an animated icon reference (search for ‘ani’) to the clipboard and paste it in a word processor. Save the altered Iconuser.dat file and print the references to the ANI’s from your word processor. Open the ANI’s in IconBook and add them manually as described above to IconBook 4 after installation.
