Common ZeroPort Error Messages
Why am I being disconnected every 10 minutes?
We have discovered that members are accessing NetZero without The ZeroPort loading and displaying advertisements. Advertisements within the ZeroPort enable NetZero to provide FREE Internet and FREE e-mail. Without effective advertisement, we are unable to provide FREE Internet and FREE e-mail. Therefore, we have employed technology that disconnects any member who does not have The ZeroPort loaded within 10 minutes. If you want to continue enjoying FREE e-mail and FREE Internet access, please follow the instructions listed below. Thank-you for helping NetZero keep the Internet FREE!
Note: WRITE THESE STEPS DOWN OR PRINT THEM OUT so that you can refer to them easily:
- Download the latest version of NetZero at
https://gold.netzero.net/servlets/download.
- When the Download Now! window appears, type in your Member ID and password.
- Click on the Submit button.
- A new Download Now! window will appear, click on the Full Download link.
- Read the User License Agreement and click on the I Accept button.
- On the Download Full Version window, click on the button that applies to you to start the download.
- On the File Download window, click OK.
- You will be asked to choose a directory. From the drop down menu, select Desktop so that the download file will be easy to locate.
- Once the download is complete, disconnect from NetZero.
- You will need to uninstall your current version of NetZero.
Note: Write down your NetZero memberid and password for future
- Click on the Windows Start button, select Settings and click on Control Panel.
- Double-click on the Add/Remove Programs icon.
- Click once on NetZero to select it, then click on the Add/Remove button to un-install.
- To install the latest version of NetZero:
- Find the location where you saved your netzero.exe.
(Your desktop - if you chose this location in Step 8.)
- Double-click on the netzero.exe file.
- Follow the on-screen installation instructions.
Your NetZero upgrade is now complete.
