Day 262 - 13 Jun 96 - Page 20

Neither myself nor Mr. Morris were present at this meeting,
       were we?
       A. You are not noted down there, no, so I assume not.

  Q. Just touching on something that we were talking about a
       moment ago:

"It was also mentioned that Hackney and Islington Animal
Rights group will be holding a picket outside a new
McDonald's restaurant that has opened in Chapel Market.
This information came from Paul Gravett, who is a member of
Hackney and Islington Animal Rights group and who will
attend the picket and distribute leaflets. The picket is
to be held this coming Saturday, 6th January."

       That is correct, yes?
       A. That is correct, yes.

  Q. That was the picket that was referred to in the notes
       earlier that I just mentioned?
       A. I do not know.

  Q. You cannot remember?
       A. I do not know where Chapel Market is, to be honest with
       you.

  Q. For the record, it is fairly close to the offices. I am
not aware of any other McDonald's at that stage being that
close, particularly not a new one opening at that time.

If we move on to 11th January. This is a meeting at --
actually it does not say. It must have been Caledonian
       Road.

"In attendance were Paul Gravett, Andrew Clarke, Helen
Steel, Jane, John, Marion, and, arriving at 8.30 p.m., were
       four people from Leamington Spa."

       You confirm that, yes?
       A. Yes.

  Q. In the fourth paragraph, you say:

"The meeting continued until 10.40 p.m., continuing so
long because much time was taken up talking with the new
       four people, explaining the group."

That is what I was referring to earlier, yes, where, if
somebody new came along, everything would be explained?
       A. Yes, yes, so far as I am aware, yes.

  Q. Then the next paragraph:

"Everyone, except the four, then went on to the
Queen's Arms Public House where it was learned that there
is in existence archives of the group's activities
containing news clippings, et cetera. Nothing else was
learned and no one knew of the present whereabouts of these
       archives."
