Day 184 - 06 Nov 95 - Page 09

after the hyphens; do you see?
       A. Yes.

  Q. What are the ones, the 7.45, 7.55 -----
       A. That is the time that some of the people left.

  Q. I see.
       A. So they would be getting (inaudible) at that time.

  Q. This is the crew meeting on 5th October 1993?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Then just have a look at the body of the note underneath
the names. You have written down "issues, Monday Ansul" --
       what does that mean?
       A. The Ansul system went off in our store on Monday.

  Q. What is it?
       A. It is almost like a fire prevention.

  Q.   All right. Then,  "Wednesday, robbery", and "Monday union";
       yes?
       A. Yes.

  Q.   What does that mean, that little note about the issues;
       what does it represent?
       A. Cam was after the meeting and he said: "As you know, it
has been a long week for me", and he said: "Due to Monday,
the Ansul system went on off on Wednesday, we had the
robbery", and then he said: "On Monday I was just told that
there was an attempt to unionise."

  Q. Then, underneath that, there is some stuff about
"promotions and any qualified", with arrows, and four
people, "job performance, crew functions, leadership,
attendance, attitude". Are these your record of things
       that Cam said?
       A. Well, yes. He just -- there was a question raised
about how to get promoted, and because I wanted to get
promoted to crew trainer, I was trying to work my way up to
the crew trainer position. I wrote down what I would need
and what I would have to do and what he was looking for for
       that.

  Q. What about concerns: "Way restaurant run, management
discipline, rectify problems"; what does that tell us?
       A. He asked if there were any concerns in the store with
either the way the restaurant is run or by management
discipline, or -- and asked us if we had any problems, we
could just rectify them with him or go and talk to him. It
was just basically, you know, the crew talking to Cam.

  Q. Then, underneath that, there is a dash and then it
says: "Take out union uniforms". What does that tell us?
       A. I cannot remember why I wrote "take out" down, but
there was concerns about the union, like crew had some
questions for him. "Uniforms", he was talking about that
we might be getting new uniforms in. So those are what
       three words were.
