MR. MORRIS: Yes. We will come 3 minutes before 2 o'clock to
     2 make sure.

3 MR. JUSTICE BELL: What is wrong with letting Mr. Rampton
getting it photocopied, and then he can read it
     4 straightaway if he wants.

5 MR. MORRIS: We will not have a copy ourselves.

6 MR. JUSTICE BELL: Sort it out one way or another. We will
              start again at 2 o'clock.
     7
                             (Short Adjournment)
     8
                                                      2.00 p.m..
     9
MR. MORRIS: Mr. Preston, you are supportive of the Tidy
    10 Britain Group?
              A. I said so, yes.
    11
         Q. Do you support their aims?
    12 A. Yes.

13 Q. If we look at the documents we have in front of us, I am
not sure if we have them all in the same order. The first
14 one was the one the one "environment/index.html">litter and the law" which has X5
and X5 in brackets (2); it is a two sided document. The
15 original was a fold over three page?
              A. X5, yes.
    16
         Q. And X5 in brackets (2) so you have both sides?
    17 A. I have both sides.

18 Q. Is it true that on X5, top left hand corner, where it
says: "Litter free streets: Where a environment/index.html">litter problem can
19 be clearly traced to the owner or occupier of a business
such as a take away food premises, the local authority can
20 issue a street environment/index.html">litter control notice. This makes the
owner responsible for keeping the front of the premises
21 plus a reasonable distance either side clear of environment/index.html">litter"?
              A. That is what it says.
    22
         Q. There is a picture of somebody outside a take away
23 premises, in that case a fish and chip shop?
              A. Not somebody -- there is a picture of two people
24 outside a fish and chip shop, yes.

25 Q. On the other side, well, bottom left hand corner, there is
another picture with a mountain of waste, obviously an
26 enormous exaggeration outside a take-away premises; is
              that correct?
    27 A. This is on page X5(2)?

28 Q. That is right, bottom left hand corner?
              A. There is a, well, the copy is not great but there
29 looks to be a shop. It says something about a shop, then
on the left a shop, a take-away. There is a pile of
30 something, I do not know what it is, but .....
