Day 278 - 11 Jul 96 - Page 22

dealt with in any way, that this document is from someone
called Albert Beale, World Peace Internet to an address in
       the States, United States.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If you give evidence you can tell me about
that. It is a matter of comment.

MR. MORRIS: As long as you do not think that Mr. Rampton -- as
long as you did not -- well, as long as that is understood,
       that is fine.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well, yes.

MR. RAMPTON: Albert Beale, or whatever it is that Mr. Morris
read out to Miss Steel, is that Albert that we see in the
agent's notes; is that the same Albert?
       A. I think it is, yes, but I do not know for sure.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Where is that? Let me see that.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, it is at the top of the first page, I
       should have spotted that myself.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Where is that?

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, it is the second chunk of lines. It
says, "Subject, Mcspotlight. Our new premier WWW site" --
World Wide Web, or whatever it means -- "date, Feb 10,
       1990."

MR. JUSTICE BELL: On the third sheet?

MR. RAMPTON: No, my Lord, on the first sheet in the Bundle.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Albert Beale.

MR. RAMPTON: Albert Beale, my Lord, yes. World Peace, and then
some abbreviation which I will not try, something like
Greenpeace organisation perhaps, I don't know.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: So Albert never told you that the fact sheet
was going on the web site?
       A. I have not spoken to him about it, no.

MR. MORRIS: Sorry, this fact sheet, I think, that Mr. Rampton
is confusing the court here. The fact sheet has not been
printed, has been printed up by McDonald's. It seems it is
nothing to do with the press release and the press release
-- there is a lot of -- I mean, if he wants to establish I
am quite happy to deal with it when I get in the witness
       box.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well, I think you should, quite frankly,
       rather than interrupt the cross-examination.

MR. MORRIS: As long as the court is not confused about it.
       A. I think it should be borne in mind that there is not
any evidence. They are quite different type faces and
there is not any evidence that that was attached to that
       E-mail.
