Day 195 - 04 Dec 95 - Page 64

  Q. Apart from the two all night closes, there is no reference
to any close ending at 3 or 4 in the morning?
       A. Yes, and these ones, the ones that I have recorded,
       there are not.

  Q. But you are so precise about your figures, you see? Why is
there no I reference to a 3 or 4 o'clock close? The reason
is, Mr. Alimi, that it did not happen, did it?
       A. I would say it happened regularly, yes.

  Q. And your ----
       A. I am not -- as I said, these are why I have put them
down, the reason I have put down the precise time is
basically random. It has nothing to do with lateness or
       earliness of the close.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can I understand what you are saying? Are
you saying that on some of the days where you have put CL
it would have been 3 or 4 a.m. but have not put 3 or 4
       a.m.?
       A. It could be.

  Q. Or are you saying that 3 or 4 a.m. just did not happen to
       occur in this three-month period?
       A. It could very well have been. I could not say for
sure, but it could have very well been that those closes
were late closes and I did put them down.

  Q. You just left CL there?
       A. I just left CL.

MR. RAMPTON: Why, Mr. Alimi, when you were so careful about the
other ones, precise times, 12.06, 8.18, 12.23? It is not
       true, is it?
       A. I happened to be precise on those nights. It is very
difficult to say now, but when you have just finished work
after something like a 9, 10-hour shift and a very short
break, very little to eat, you are usually under too much
pressure and too much stress to bother writing down your
diary, and by the next day you may completely forget about
it. So what I would say is that those times that I have put
down are the times, I just happened to remember to put them
down and the rest of them I just did not, I did not
       remember to put it down.

  Q. You left McDonald's I think in the end of August 1987, did
       you not?
       A. Yes, I do not know -- I left in August, yes. I do not
       exactly when.

  Q. When did you hear about the Transnationals publications
       "Working for Big Mac"?
       A. About a couple of months after I left I would say.

  Q. Did you see the article in the Guardian when that came out?
       A. Yes, a very short article.

  Q. You went straight to them and said: "I think I can help
you. I have got some dirt to spill about McDonald's"?
