Day 154 - 13 Jul 95 - Page 57

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Put a cross or some other clear indication
next to the ones you are confident you are going to refer
       to.

MR. MORRIS: Would you like me to give a very brief summary of
what the submission is likely to be?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No, not tonight. You say you wanted to raise
       some other matters?

MR. MORRIS: There was a bit of confusion earlier on when it was
assumed that the gentleman two rows behind is working for
us. He is actually from Channel 4 preparing a
reconstruction documentary, believe it or not.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is totally immaterial.

MR. MORRIS: He wanted to let it be known that he is entirely
       neutral.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I am happy you should mention it so there is
no confusion. It was merely he happened to be sitting on
your side of the court and various people have sat behind
you so, rightly or wrongly, I thought they were people
whose help you could enlist from time to time.

MR. MORRIS: The matter of the correspondence file, there was
one particular matter that Mrs. Brinley-Codd and I were not
sure about. She objected to half of a sentence from a
document last September in a letter which referred to
negotiations. Does it matter? Am I not able to put it in
without her agreement or should I just give it in without
that half of a sentence? I have two versions here one
       without that.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What I suggest, unless it is something ----

MR. MORRIS: It did not comment about it. It just mentioned the
       fact ----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I suggest you give me the one which does not
have the sentence and just write at the bottom of it in
brackets "Amended" so I can remember you told me this about
it. You can do that tomorrow.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, I would like to see the amended version
before that happens because your Lordship must not see
anything which we do not see.

MR. MORRIS: I think that is everything.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Is there anything else, Ms. Steel?

MS. STEEL: I do not think so.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have in court sufficient copies for
everyone of a word-processed account of my rulings on the
various matters we argued. I can see absolutely no reason
why I should not hand it down. There is nothing in it
which cannot be published to absolutely anyone. It saves
