Day 293 - 04 Nov 96 - Page 13
MR. MORRIS: I could not find the relevant documents in this.
I was trying to do it from the transcripts last night.
Mrs. Brinley-Codd kindly gave me one page, annex 1. I do
not know if you remember annex 1, but he refers to other
pages, which I did not have in front of me last night.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have not got annex 1 - maybe I will find it
- but what I have got is conversion factors for
calculation of forest areas required to supply pulp for
McDonald's in Europe and USA, addendum to the statement of
T.S. Mallinson 30th November 1994. Is that the one? It is
not signed. It has got Donald A. Thompson, Marketing
Officer, Business Enterprise Division, at the end.

MR. MORRIS: I could not find that. So maybe I should deal
with the USA general matters first, and maybe if we could
get copies, because I do not think the Plaintiffs can find
it.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: We will take the five minute break now. You
can photocopy what I have, if someone will do it for you.

MR. MORRIS: Did you have the annex 1 as well, which, if you
remember, it had figures about thinning of pulp wood and
saw logs and totals with a chart at the bottom which ends
up with the words total round wood 432 cubic metres? It
has got: Mr. Terence Mallinson and annex 1, at the top.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It may have been put in a bundle of
documents.

MR. MORRIS: Yes, I think it was served the day that he was in
the witness box. I am not sure.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: In fact, I have written on his new statement
- do you remember one was substituted - I have written
"see new calculations 30th of November", after the
statement, and if I look after that statement I find that,
but I do not find the document you are referring to.

MR. MORRIS: Right. Shall I hand it up so that you can see it?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. (Handed)

MR. MORRIS: There is also an annex 2, behind it but I don't
think all the full pages are there. I definitely remember
the chart.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: There is no reason why you should not give
me your sums anyway. What I suggest you do is during the
midday adjournment get that photocopied. Make sure you
have got the conversion factors addendum. I am sure you
must have that somewhere, the one I have just referred to.

MR. MORRIS: I am hoping that we can borrow yours and get it
photocopied.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Borrow mine now. I will break off for five
minutes now, which will give the stenographer a break.
What I suggest is that you take a copy of that and then
