  Q. New equipment.
       A. -- they would talk to the suppliers.

  Q. So when was that edict from the company to cease using CFC
       equipment issued?
       A. It would have been about the time we implemented the
packaging change, the change in the blowing agent.

  Q. Give me a date, roughly what date?
       A. I do not know a date.

  Q. What about September 1988, something like that?
       A. It was certainly in the last part of that year --
       specifically, I cannot tell you.

  Q. We have not had any document to that effect?
       A. It may not have been a document.

  Q. It might have been you and Paul Preston having a chat, yes?
       A. No, it would not have been; it would have more likely
been a buyer or a purchasing manager going to talk to the
managing director of the distribution company.

  Q. A rumour would have gone round the suppliers, would it, or
would there have been a formal memo?
       A. No, they would in turn talk to their people, their
       suppliers.

  Q. Just through word of mouth?
       A. That is good enough.

  Q. Is that how McDonald's Corporation operates?
       A. That is how we ---

  Q. Through word of mouth?
       A. That is how we made the change with Lin Pac.

  Q. That was one particular company ---?
       A. All right.

  Q. - that you were in close contact with?
       A. The discussion with the distribution company was also
one particular company that we were in close contact with,
which is a dedicated distribution service to McDonald's.
It is not a public company. You cannot change the rules
around to suit yourself all the time.

  Q. Finally, on the refrigeration, the usage of CFCs in
refrigeration equipment is we have figures from the US,
from Mr. Kouchoukos, is as significant, if not more
significant, is it, than the packaging use in terms of
volume; are you aware of that?
       A. I do not know.

  Q. Did you look into the comparative?
       A. No, I did not.

  Q. Whether it was a significant amount?
       A. No, I did not.
