Day 276 - 09 Jul 96 - Page 42
fact sheet or draft of a fact sheet, or anything like
that. And that you had not mentioned it to me and,
obviously, I have seen you writing any number of leaflets
about a wide range of subjects. Obviously several to do
with the Unwaged Centre, the Claimants Union and so on.
And, in my experience, you are not exactly shy about what
you are writing and what you are involved in. You usually
discuss it with whoever is around.

Q. Am I shy in claiming responsibility for something that I
may have done in the past?
A. Not generally.

Q. Would I ever claim to be involved in something that I had
not done? Did I ever claim for something which I had not
done?
A. Not that I have known, but I don't know.

Q. Moving on to something slightly different. You mentioned
somebody in London Greenpeace or being involved with London
Greenpeace called Moe?
A. Yes.

Q. You said he came sporadically were you words. Did he get
involved in any activities in the group?
A. My recollection of Moe is that he had said that he had
been involved off and on for quite a long time, since
before I got involved with the group. That he was keen on
the fayres. I know that he organised some of the London
Greenpeace fayres and he was very keen on that. I think he
was also involved in an anticar or antitraffic campaign, or
setting up an antitraffic campaign within the group.

Q. So was that his purpose in coming along, to take part in
some activities? Well, did that seem to be your
impression, if you cannot speak for him?
A. I don't know. I mean, the meetings he was at I
remember him expressing an interest in the fayre and I do
remember him later organising the fayres and writing an
antitraffic leaflet.

Q. I think you said that, correct me if I am wrong, that there
was no anti-McDonald's activity organised after the fayre
in 1989 until the day of action a year later, in October
1990?
A. That is right, not by London Greenpeace.

Q. Sorry, not by London Greenpeace; you agree that?
A. Yes.

Q. But letters continued to be replied to?
A. Yes.

Q. Yes?
A. Well, letters would come in about McDonald's. I mean,
I just remember them being read out at meetings and I
presume people were replying to them.

Q. So was that effectively the only activity the group was
conducting for that period?
