     1
         Q. Are you aware of any other advertising standards, rulings
     2 or warnings or whatever?
              A. The guidelines?
     3
         Q. That have been specifically applied to McDonald's
     4 packaging such as that?
              A. Let me just think. I cannot think of anything
     5 immediately.

6 MR. JUSTICE BELL: You are really being asked if you can
remember any authority pulling McDonald's up on this kind
     7 of topic.
              A. No, I cannot remember anything happening like that.
     8
MR. MORRIS: When you changed your packaging from CFCs to HCFCs
9 in America, did you relabel the packaging in any way?
              A. In the United States what I know, one thing I know we
10 did is on our boxes, the corrugated boxes that we shipped
the foam in, we put across the box -- the consumer will
11 not see this box, it was more meant for store personnel --
we put on "CFC free" when we made the transition out and
    12 ------

13 Q. When it changed to HCFCs?
              A. That is correct. Some portion of the switch to HCFCs,
14 some portion switched to hydrocarbons and, remember, half
of our foam packaging was always hydrocarbons, and our
15 main intention in putting the labelling on our corrugated
containers was to help educate the people in McDonald's,
16 because we want to try to communicate everything we are
doing to all the people that work for McDonald's. That
17 was just one part of the way we that tried to do that. In
terms of the specific packaging, we never did that; we
    18 considered doing it.

19 Q. You did not use the "CFC free" thing on your packaging,
              customer packaging?
20 A. Customer packaging, I know we considered it, but I do
not think we ever at any point in time did that with the
21 consumers. Instead, what we did is we prepared, we call
them "Did you know pamphlets", little fact sheets and we
22 put in our restaurants, in all of our restaurants in the
United States, a fact sheet that explained what we did.
    23
         Q. Sorry, so what did you use phrase "CFC free" on?
24 A. On the corrugated case shipping foam containers.

25 Q. Right. They were previously CFCs then they changed to
              HCFCs?
    26 A. And hydrocarbons, yes.

27 Q. Did you put "CFC free" on tray liners?
              A. We developed educational materials.
    28
         Q. About the cartons, yes?
    29
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Put specifically what it is being suggested
30 "CFC free" appeared on, if there is such a thing.
