Day 015 - 21 Jul 94 - Page 39

     1
         Q. Right, OK.
     2
MR. RAMPTON: It appears on page 28 of the 1989 document.
     3
         MR. JUSTICE BELL: Thank you.
     4
MR. MORRIS: Is that the UK?
     5
         MR. RAMPTON: Yes.
     6
MR. MORRIS: So that may have been brought in about 1989, or
7 something like that. I am going on his statement. He
says it is a recent change, unless the statement is
8 inaccurate. OK, so we are not sure about that one.

9 MR. JUSTICE BELL: Is not the easiest thing, if you would be
kind enough to produce in a typed form your schedule of
10 other meals, in relation to the five meals you have there,
could you kindly put next to each item, for instance,
11 Quarter Pounder and cheese, the total calories? I am not
asking you to put a percentage of fat, calories, and all
    12 the other things.
              A. I see, just the breakdown?
    13
         Q. So you have the figure of calories for Quarter Pounder and
14 cheese, a figure for side salad and a figure for regular
vanilla shake, do you see what I mean, which would come to
    15 a total of 843?
              A. Yes, I mean, I could do that easily.
    16
MS. STEEL: I think if we could have, although not troubling to
17 work out the percentages, the fat content of those things
expressed in grammes, because that must be in the analysis
18 that you took this from. So that would mean we could
              compare it.
    19
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Would it be possible to do that?
    20 A. Anything is possible.

21 Q. I know, but some things take a great deal more trouble
than others. All I want to do is have some form of
22 information which will enable us to see what makeup of
salad dressing, for instance, you were working on. Do you
    23 see?
              A. OK, yes.
    24
MR. MORRIS: If we go to meal 4, cheeseburger: The cheese has
25 had a reduced fat content, yes, since last year or
              whatever?
    26 A. Yes.

27 Q. It has been reduced?
              A. Yes, in the last couple of years.
    28
         Q. Regular fries: We do not know, because we have to find
29 out what figures they are based on. Apple pie: I have an
impression that you said something about fruit pies were
30 cooked in lard up to 1989, beef tallow?
              A. No, I do not recollect that.
