Day 259 - 10 Jun 96 - Page 73

refer to -- I have not had a chance to look at this -- but
Litigation Library Discovery by Paul Matthews and Hodge
Malik, which was published by Sweet and Maxwell in 1992.

MR. MORRIS: It is called Discovery -----

MR. RAMPTON: It is a textbook, my Lord, and one is well
familiar with it. I do not know whether it is quite as
good as Style and Hollander, but we have a copy in
       chambers.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If that is going to be referred to, I would
like the references in due course.

MS. STEEL: Do you mean the particular pages, or -- because we
have just been handed this and it is quite thick.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If you photocopy the front page and any pages
to which either you or counsel, if you anticipate help from
counsel, is going to refer to so that I can read them as
they are read to me and make markings on them, I would be
       grateful.

  MS. STEEL: OK.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Is there anything else now?

MR. MORRIS: Yes, a couple of things. There is one letter to
hand up to you which I faxed to the Plaintiffs. It is now
dealt with. I have got the authorities they were going to
rely on about privilege. It was just a request for them.
The other thing is, if I can do it at the same time, I am
not sure if you ever got a copy of the Advisory Committee
on the Microbiological Safety of Food, E. Coli, the pages
that we quoted. I think, if you remember, you said you
would like any copies of any pages that were referred to.
       (Handed).

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I would like you to tell me just where that
should be put in due course and I can put it in.

MR. MORRIS: Yes. If all else fails, it can go behind Richard
       North.

                        BRIAN BISHOP, Sworn
                     Examined by MR. RAMPTON QC

MR. RAMPTON: Mr. Bishop, are your full names Brian Bishop?
       A. They are.

  Q. Mr. Riley, could he have, please, yellow 2. Would you,
       please, turn to tab 8?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Is there a tab 8 or an 8A?
       A. I have 8B and C and 8D.

  Q. Do you have an 8A as well?
       A. No.
