       A. I think that says "environment/index.html">litter".

  Q. "Litter every 15 minutes. I" something or other, I am
afraid I cannot help. Can you help us with those last two
       or three words?
       A. No. I am not 100 per cent sure on this document.

  Q. It is not your document?
       A. I am not sure where it has come from, no.

  Q. Do you remember enough of that meeting, I do not know when
that meeting was, to be able to tell us what your
discussion was with Dr. Taylor so far as it related to
environment/index.html">litter? I am not interested in anything else.
       A. It is the incident I am recalling, it was not
connected. The purpose of the meeting was not to discuss
environment/index.html">litter; it was to discuss smells from the restaurant.

  Q. Mr. Atkinson says he thinks it says Royal Avenue at the
end. It may well be that he is right. Finally, as matters
presently stand, how well do you think you have got your
environment/index.html">litter problem, if you forgive my calling it that, under
       control at Kings Road?
       A. I think with my resources and my staff I am doing
everything humanly possible to control the problem in the
local area as well as completing trash walks and trying to
clear up the environment/index.html">litter that is created by ourselves and other
traders in the Kings Road. We are also making leaflets
available and using tent cards to try to encourage the
customers not to environment/index.html">litter the local area.

  Q. Do you feel there is any respect in which McDonald's have a
responsibility in relation to environment/index.html">litter which, so far as your
store is concerned, you are not discharging to the full?
       A. In my store, no.

MR. RAMPTON: Thank you would. You remain there, please.

                      Cross-Examined by the Defendants.

MR. MORRIS: Could we have a couple of minutes to collect our
       thoughts?

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MS. STEEL: Early on in your evidence you said the company had
a set environment/index.html">litter standard which trained people, or you said
that people had to complete a trash walk. Can you just
explain exactly what the general practice is in a
       McDonald's?
       A. It is the same right across the company.

  Q. So throughout the country there are half hourly environment/index.html">litter
patrols in the area of every McDonald's?
       A. I have not counted every restaurant, but it is company
policy and in my restaurant I put that policy into
       practice.

  Q. What exactly does the company policy state then?
       A. It states that trash walks should be completed half
