Day 067 - 15 Dec 94 - Page 49
Q. The UK?
A. Yes.

Q. Can you say who Doug Gullang is? I have heard his name.
What is he from, what department?
A. He is the president of OSI International. He was based
in Germany for a number of years and has recently been
relocated to the United States, but he still runs the
operation.

Q. So the product that would be shipped from the UK to Russia,
what would that be? Would that be patties?
A. No. It would be raw materials.

Q. If we just move on from Moscow to Chile -- if we just go
through them one by one we might pass over a lot of them.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do not feel you have to challenge
everything. Try to pick out the points you think are
important.

MR. MORRIS: The US imports were filled in by somebody in your
department, were they?
A. That was myself.

Q. If we move over the page to Hungary ----
A. May I add to your question?

Q. Yes.
A. I was heavily involved in the project for Chile, I was
directly responsible for it, so I work on this project and
with those supplier's, name Procarne, for over a year.
They came several times into the US, I visited Chile
several times, so I feel comfortable in reviewing and
writing the notes.

Q. Hungary is the next one. Again, is Hungary one of the
companies that you felt there were some quite strong
problems with?
A. I would not consider, no, sir. I would not use that
type of language. I would say they have some areas of
opportunity, I would agree with that.

Q. But they have answered "no" to four of the questions on the
beef?
A. I am sorry, I did not hear you?

Q. They have answered "no" to four of the questions on beef?
A. That is correct.

Q. Except for the electric prods?
A. Yes, that is correct.

Q. That is three on the main welfare points.
A. Yes.

Q. If we go over the page -- have you been to the Hungary
