and just read out their names, there can be no
misunderstanding as to who they are.

MR. RAMPTON: When I say that I was talking about the
environment witnesses. I do have reservations about one or
two of the others, but I would need a comprehensive list
from the Defendants before I could give a -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think you had better say who you do object
       to.

MR. RAMPTON: It is a man called Mitchell, I think he is Adrian
Mitchell who is on -- I am afraid I have left it in
Chambers. Mrs. Brinley-Codd has got them

MS. STEEL: Can I just say, he is a witness whose statement was
served with the original statements in July 1993. So I do
       not think we need leave.

MR. RAMPTON: I do not mind when it was served. I object to his
evidence being given because it is irrelevant and
inadmissible. It is nothing to do with the date of service
at all. What he purports to tell your Lordship is what the
leaflet means, in large part, and he cannot do it, so
I maintain a rooted objection to him in toto.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I cannot even remember what he says.

MR. RAMPTON: I cannot either, but I know I always thought he
       -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you know where he is in the bundle?.

MR. RAMPTON: I do not actually. I have no objection to
Mr. Patel's evidence being read. He is in 1B my Lord, at
section D1. He is under advertising. In fact if your
Lordship looks at it, it turns out to be something
completely different. That is quite apart from the fact
that the advertising issue has long since gone.

He is a poet playwright and novelist and he purports to
assist your Lordship in the interpretation of the leaflet.
Even if he were William Shakespeare he would not be allowed
to do it, which he plainly is not.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Were you actually proposing to call
       Mr. Mitchell?

MR. MORRIS: He got lost in the shuffle.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I know, but I cannot see at the moment what
       his evidence is directed at.

MR. MORRIS: It seems to be two parts. It seems to be on the
one hand he is criticising advertising, and the purpose of
advertising, and which he has got every right to.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What you seriously have got to ask yourself
is whether he is first of all, giving admissible evidence
and even if he is, whether you really expect me to attach
