Day 114 - 04 Apr 95 - Page 75

give you the pages of the transcript but write down
Dr. Gregory and the dates in question, Mr. Bowes and the
dates in question, Mr. Chambers and the dates in question
and the parts of Dr. Gregory related to chickens which
no-one is asking you to read. Did you want to say
       something?

MS. STEEL: I just wanted to ask about how long, I am not trying
to put pressure, but how long Mr. Rampton might take
because Mr. Bruton has to come a quite a long way, he has
to set off quite early, if it is going to be sometime.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can we give a time, Mr. Rampton?

MR. RAMPTON: No, my Lord, I do not believe so it. If it had
not been for this exercise, the Defendants were so
suspicious, I would have been all day with Dr. Long. As it
I hope to complete the exercise sometime in the morning on
       Thursday.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: The only question is whether we can tell
Mr. Bruton he not need come here till, say, half past
       eleven or 12 o'clock.

  MR. RAMPTON: Half past.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If I were you I would tell him half past.
Will you need time with him or not?

  MS. STEEL: We will.

MR. MORRIS: We have not met him.

MR. RAMPTON: If I get all the answers I want I may sit down in
       20 minutes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I suggest you have him here at half past 11.
If Mr. Rampton has finished by half past 11 you can have
time then to call him. If it gets much nearer to lunch
time we might take our break earlier. I would ask you to
use part of your mid-day adjournment.

MR. MORRIS: One final thing is we are serving two statements.
It is Phil Pearson's expert record of his site visit -- it
is one statement, sorry, from Phil Pearson in that case, so
if you want, I do not know whether you want to hand it.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do not hand to me yet. Hand two copies over
and keep one safe for me in due course.
