Day 068 - 16 Dec 94 - Page 44

MR. MORRIS: But, in any event, wherever it is -- maybe I will
save that line until we get the map. I would like to carry
on with this line of questioning, if we can do without a
map, maybe, and bring it up again. Otherwise I am
completely out of order. Maybe we should -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just sit down and collect your thoughts.

MR. MORRIS: Can we go to the rainforest file, the one with the
       letters XIV?

MR. RAMPTON: The one I have which has letters XIV.

  MR. MORRIS: Yellow XIV.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Mr. Morris, I am sure you have mastered Roman
numerals by now. Can we not just call it "14"?

MR. RAMPTON: I do not know what Mr. Morris is after.

MR. MORRIS: I am looking for one particular letter.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If you identify it, other people may be able
       to find it.

MR. RAMPTON: If he is talking about the letter, January 1992.

MR. MORRIS: No, I am talking about the one from
       29th August 1989. I have a (ix) in the bottom right-hand
       corner.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is 78.

MR. RAMPTON: That is number 78 in yellow XIV.

MR. MORRIS: Number 78. It is in Spanish, with the English
       translation at the bottom.
       A. Yes, I see.

  Q. Is the translation at the bottom an accurate translation of
the Spanish, as far as you can see?
       A. Do you have a more legible copy than I do?

MR. MORRIS: I can read the English translation.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: From my own limited knowledge of Spanish, it
does appear to be an accurate translation. But see if you
can do any better with mine.

THE WITNESS: I can read some words.

  MR. MORRIS: In Spanish?
       A. In Spanish, but I have difficulty reading -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It looks all right, does it not?
       A. It would appear -- yes, it looks right.

MR. MORRIS: So the translation at the bottom says: "The only
meat used from the region of Guanacaste which has been the
cattle producing zone during the last 70 years", does that
