Day 006 - 05 Jul 94 - Page 86
1 tomorrow? Does that help or does it not?
2 MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think if you could do that now it would
because I can have another look and Miss Steel and
3 Mr. Morris will know.
4 MR. RAMPTON: I do not guarantee that this is a comprehensive
list. There are various exhibits to his two statements;
5 his two statements are at tab 3 of yellow bundle 3 and tab
6 of the same bundle. My Lord, I shall refer to each of
6 the exhibits to the first statement. There are two
additional exhibits to the second statement which the
7 defendants have had, but I would like your Lordship to
have.
8
The copy that is there already is a fax copy and has not
9 come out very well.
10 MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, thank you.
11 MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, that is an exhibit to the second
statement which is at tab 4. What it does is to tell your
12 Lordship what is the location of the paper mills in the
United States which make pulp for use by McDonald's
13 packaging suppliers. I have simply put that at the back
of his second statement.
14
My Lord, the fifth exhibit to his first statement is a
15 truly enormous document. One does not need to go through
it at all because -- it is used for calculation of volumes
16 of wood used or amounts of wood used -- from paragraph 8
onwards of his first estimate Mr. Kouchoukos gives the
17 references in that USDA Forestry Report or Analysis. It
is, in fact, only three or four pages that one needs to
18 look at.
19 My Lord, the only other documents that need to be looked
at for the sake -- as I say, I might have made a mistake
20 about this but I hope not -- are in the trial bundles,
first of all, pink volume 4, tabs 20 to 20B, to which your
21 Lordship should add this document which is an update of
which country uses which kind of wrapping or packaging.
22 I have put that behind tab 20 of pink volume 4. It is the
latest position.
23
Then the number of restaurants worldwide which is pink
24 volume 3 -- this is for 1993 -- tab 5, page 134, that is
the annual report of the Corporation for 1993.
25
Then, finally I hope, pink volume 5, tab 22 and the page
26 number in the volume is 494. It is a two page document.
As far as I can tell at the moment, that is that.
27
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Thank you very much. We will resume at
28 10.30 tomorrow.
