decision, but the state of that claim might have some
relevance to its validity. In other words, if the claim
had been withdrawn, abandoned, or whatever, and it is not
the case that it is still -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I do not know.

MR. RAMPTON: It might be of some interest to me.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I do not think I would draw any conclusions
from that one way or the other. I mean, Miss O'Riordon
says in her own statement that a time came when two
orthopaedic surgeons advised her that the trouble she had
with her wrist was not attributable to the accident. She
may well have injured her elbow at the time and had medical
opinion which did not make her claim worthwhile to pursue.
It does not help me one way or the other, any more than if
an insurance company decides to pay some money in
settlement it helps me to decide whether it was a good
claim or not.

MR. RAMPTON: It was just that Mr. Morris seemed to attach some
significance to it. That is all.

MS. STEEL: I think the purpose of it was to ask about whether
she had made a statement for the purposes of that.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, very well. Let it pass in the air. It
is not going to help me at the end of the day.

MR. RAMPTON: No re-examination.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Thank you, Mrs. Norris.

(The witness withdrew)

MR. MORRIS: Can I say one thing as a result of that evidence,
that we would like to formally ask for the incident report
form of that accident.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Which one?

MR. MORRIS: The incident report form filled out after the
accident by ----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Miss O'Riordon's accident?

MR. MORRIS: Yes, because it must be a relevant document.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What do you say about that?

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, I do not say anything -- sorry, I am
standing here like a lemon. I quite agree, it probably is
relevant.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think it is. What I suggest is, see if you
can find it.

MR. RAMPTON: Yes, of course.
