Day 206 - 22 Jan 96 - Page 49

       think?
       A. They may be up to, yes, from eight -----

  Q. Or maybe 10, I do not mind.
       A. Nine hour shift, I would say, maximum.

  Q. Yes. Thank you, Mr. Henden. Please remain there.

                 Cross-examined by the Defendants

MR. MORRIS: Just for clarification, was the first actual store
       you worked in in 1991?
       A. No, the first actual store I worked in was in 1988
which was at Sutton Coldfield branch.

  Q. Right. You moved to the Bath store in 1991?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. Right. On page 2 of your statement -- I am, sort of,
working through your statement -- Paul Scott Shepherd, you
say it is correct that he worked a lot of shifts; what s
the most days in a row you think he may have worked?
       A. This schedule may have crossed weeks; typically, the
maximum day would be six days. It typically would have
been five days he would have worked.

  Q. He would not have worked more than five days in a row?
       A. Five days in a row.

  Q. What I am saying is, how many days in a row do you think he
may have worked at the most? Mr. Logan has said that he
understands that Paul Scott Shepherd worked a lot of shifts
as something critical of the Company.
       A. Yes.

  Q. Let us say, was it possible he could have worked seven days
in a row, something like that?
       A. No, I would not have thought he would have worked seven
       days in a row.

  Q. Why not?
       A. Because his schedule was tended -- it is done on a
weekly basis and so, typically, during that period there
       would be two days off.

  Q. Right. Does McDonald's sometimes schedule people for seven
       days in a row?
       A. No, it is not common practice to schedule people seven
       days in a row.

  Q. It happens sometimes then, does it?
       A. It may actually -- it may occur that someone may work
       those days.

  Q. So some people might work seven days in a row at
McDonald's? They do, in your experience, some people have
worked seven days in a row?
       A. Some may.

  Q. Can you recall?
