Day 272 - 02 Jul 96 - Page 72
Mr. Morris, but it was said that Ms. Steel was on holiday.
You see that in the penultimate paragraph in the first
page. You see that?
A. I do.

MR. MORRIS: Sorry. We are just trying to track these notes
down.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is 154N or number 20 at the bottom, but
you can only just see the top of the 20.

MR. RAMPTON: Then if you go to the next page.

MR. MORRIS: We have not found it. Yes, thank you.

MR. RAMPTON: Thank you. If you go to the next page. My Lord,
I have got 21 at the bottom.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MR. RAMPTON: I will start at the first paragraph because you
have not had a chance to look at this paragraph:

"Discussion then starred about the fayre and it
was decided to go on to that subject next. It
appeared that everything had been agreed upon in
the previous week's meeting was disagreed with
by the members present at this meeting and
lengthy discussions commenced about how the
fayre was to be -- at 9 pm, John entered."

Is that the one I have described as New Zealand John?
A. Well, I cannot remember but possibly, yes.

Q. "And asked if anything had been decided. Dave,"
that is Dave Morris, "said that nothing had. With
reference to McDonald's, Dave said the first fayre had an
been anti-McDonald's day. This was about 6 years ago and
every year since then they have had an annual
anti-McDonald's day. John then explained that this was now
changing and the fayre was to be a London Greenpeace fayre
outlining all their areas of interest and their vision for
the future. He," that is John, "said that thought the
anti-McDonald's campaign would still continue as "everyone
hates McDonald's." Now, I do not suppose you would
remember John saying that?
A. No.

Q. No. Was what John is reported as having said true so far
as you were aware?
A. Well, it is true as far as I was concerned, on my own
behalf. There again, London Greenpeace was the sort of
group where people were not asked questions, interrogated
as to their beliefs when they came in. So it is impossible
to say in the group that everyone hated McDonald's.

Q. Can you put the agent's notes on one side? We do not need
those any more at the moment?
A. Right.
