Day 195 - 04 Dec 95 - Page 63

Q. That is a precise figure too, is it not?
A. Yes.

Q. The next one April 11th, 3.45 to 12.53?
A. Correct.

Q. The next day 12th Saturday 3.45 until 2.06, a late close?
A. Yes.

Q. But not 3 or 4 in the morning? No. There is another one
on 15th April 5.15 until 1.06?
A. Correct.

Q. On the 17th ----

MR. MORRIS: Has everyone got that page -- we have our page the
wrong way round.

MR. RAMPTON: 15th April, Tuesday. Thursday 17th 3.45 until, is
it 11.53 or 1.53?
A. 11.53.

Q. That is even before midnight, is it not?
A. That is correct.

Q. You have your second all nighter?
A. Only just, yes.

Q. On Saturday 19th, 3.45 until 5.55 in the morning, is that
right?
A. That is right.

Q. With the possible exception of 3rd May when you had your
accident and you say you came back to work and you wrote 4
until 2 it looks like, there is not a single other all
nighter until we get passed the end of this document and it
is not in any of the rest of the diary? Would you agree
then that is right, in a three-month period there are two
all night closes?
A. That is right, yes, in this one, I think so at least.

Q. I do not know how much more of this you want me to go
through. Will you take it from me, just look at, for
example, 28th April, 4 until 12.06?
A. Yes.

Q. Thursday, 1st May, 5, "close" is scratched out, 1.30 a.m.
Monday, 5th May, 4 until 12.36. Tuesday -- no, that is a
day-time shift. Wednesday, 7th, 4 until close crossed out,
12.20, and so it goes on. There was a late close I think
at Clacton on 12th, was there not? At any rate, it was a
long shift?
A. It was a close, yes.

Q. Will you accept from me, so as to save us all going through
it now, that there is no nowhere to be found anywhere in
their pages or the whole of your diary for 1986 any
reference to any close ending at 3 or 4 in the morning?
A. In these ones?
