Day 267 - 21 Jun 96 - Page 24

MR. RAMPTON: No, it is page 5 in the bottom.
       A. Yes, page 5.

MS. STEEL: Yes. You have mentioned about an antiMcDonald's
picket outside Chapel Market McDonald's. "Meet 12 noon
outside the Body Shop on the 6th of the first 1990." You
do not recollect at this distance of time, do you, whether
or not that was actually organised by Hackney and Islington
Animal Rights and it is a coming event that was being
       announced at the meeting?
       A. I do not know who would have organised that.

  Q. But you would accept that was a possibility?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Right. Do you remember that Hackney and Islington Animal
Rights actually organised quite a lot of antiMcDonald's
       pickets?
       A. No.

  Q. Do you remember quite a lot of people being involved with
       Hackney and Islington Animal Rights?
       A. Yes, I do, sir.

MR. MORRIS: You remember that people in the group were involved
with Hackney and Islington Animal Rights?
       A. Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: He has just said that.

MR. MORRIS: And you remember Paul and Jane being particularly
       involved?
       A. In?

  Q. In Hackney and Islington Animal Rights?
       A. I recall members of the group being involved with that
       particular group, yes.

  Q. But when McDonald's matters were discussed such as that
picket, you would not note or you would not now recollect
about whether it was organised by Hackney and Islington
       Animal Rights?
       A. I do not recall who it was organised by.

  Q. But that would go for other matters as well. If people
brought up some McDonald's matters you would not know
whether it was Hackney and Islington Animal Rights. If
Paul was to bring something up, whether it was to do with
       that group or Greenpeace?
       A. It may have been stated who was organising the activity
but I do not recall who, on that particular occasion, or
whether I would have made a note of it.

  Q. Right. What I am saying is, there is a running theme
throughout that period of time when you were in the group
of, say, a picket to do with McDonald's but in your mind
you did not distinguish between Hackney and Islington
Animal Rights and London Greenpeace when it came to, say,
Paul or Jane reporting on something?
