Day 185 - 07 Nov 95 - Page 44
A. I do not remember saying that. Did I write it down?
I do not remember that.

Q. Yes, amazingly enough, you did. At the bottom of
paragraph 5: "In the end I did sign, partly because I was
impressed with the idea of enhanced benefits."
A. OK. Well, when they are talking enhanced benefits, she
was talking about pensions, and like pensions for the day
staff doing full-time hours; and at that point I was a day
staff employee, so full-time hours was a benefit to me. So
that was the one I was impressed with, just the full-time
hour part of it. The pension I had no need for; I was only
19 years old at the time.

Q. Right. You would have been happy if you got a wage
increase, presumably?
A. I did not -- I was happy with my wage.

Q. You would have been happy if you had got a wage increase?
A. It would have been nice, but I was happy with what
I was making.

Q. You did not mind working at minimum wage, then?
A. I was above minimum wage.

Q. We had this with Sarah. I mean, do you remember how many
cents above minimum wage you were?
A. I do not know what the minimum wage was at the time.
I do not remember what I was making at the time.

Q. How do you know you were above minimum wage?
A. I have been above minimum wage ever since a year and a
half after I started there, I have been above minimum
wage.

Q. And before that, you were at minimum wage?
A. At minimum wage, yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You may not be able to help me on this. If
so, say so. But are there minimum wages for different age
groups?
A. There is one for under 18 and one for over 18.

Q. Is that the Ontario Provincial Government or the Canadian
National Government; do you know?
A. I think it is Ontario, but I am not sure.

MR. MORRIS: You were impressed with the idea of enhanced
benefits. Then later that evening, you say in paragraph 6,
you had second thoughts. What happened that day to give
you second thoughts?
A. I had second thoughts right in the morning. I did not
really want to sign them. I wanted a day to think about,
but she would not give it to me. I had to get to work for
10 o'clock and they would not leave without stopping --
like, just letting me go; they would not leave my house.

Q. So what made you have second thoughts?
A. I did not know -- I did not -- what they were telling
me is the same, we had job security, we had benefits,
