Day 166 - 28 Sep 95 - Page 37

  Q. The first column is previous year percentage, I do not
understand that one. It is not on the previous page. The
       column is -----
       A. I think that is -- I think that relates to the sales
       achieved in the previous year.

  Q. Or was it the projected sales -- the budget target for the
previous year in terms of sales and crew?
       A. It may have been.

  Q. Because -----
       A. Where are we?

  Q. You are the person who was the Manager, can you have a look
and see if you can tell us?
       A. Let us go to December. Yes, December was 2.4 million,
it ended up as. That must have been the previous year's
       budget, I imagine.

  Q. Right. The 15.98 per cent was the budget target for the
       previous year for crew expenses?
       A. Yes.

  Q. I want to see if there are any more questions about the
       document.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You do not need to feel obliged to turn over
every possible point because we will have the documents, we
have got equivalent documents for other stores at other
times. If you can think of any point on it, you can mount
it in argument in due course.

MR. MORRIS: I think we have generally dealt with it. May that
be a good time to stop?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, 2 o'clock. Do not talk to anyone else
about your evidence. If you have any queries about
anything generally, by all means have a word with
Mrs. Brinley-Codd but do not discuss your evidence.

                       (Luncheon Adjournment)

MS. STEEL: The air conditioning system, was that integrated
with the heating in any way?
       A. The heat and cool.

  Q. It heated and cooled?
       A. Yes, when necessary. In the summer it would cool.

  Q. Right. Presumably, that would be adjustable in different
       parts of the store?
       A. Different units would do different areas.

  Q. So there was separate air conditioning for separate parts
       of the store?
       A. Yes, some air conditioning units will also do parts of
the dining area. The one I am in at the moment also does
       the dining area.

  Q. Talking about the Marble Arch store, what was the situation
