Day 276 - 09 Jul 96 - Page 18
lid which again is not very unusual, in terms of sort of
banner making. People improvised and used kind of waste
materials, such as old box lids, and I think on some of the
demonstrations we have seen some of the placards were made
from old sale signs from shops.

That is just, you know, not at all unusual people,
just use whatever material is available. Obviously, you
want something with a hard back to make a placard so that
it stands up of its own accord without you having to stand
there holding it out with both hands. That is all it looks
like to me. He might not have done it, but it looks like
somebody has enlarged a copy of the front cover of the
fact sheet and made it into a poster which is just stuck on
a box lid. I was not suggesting that he was carrying the
fact sheets in that box.

Q. No, I appreciate that. I thought you were suggesting that
he might be carrying a series of posters, such as you say
he has made, to stick on the box lid?
A. No, that was not what I meant. As I say, it is just
you have a poster and you want to stick it on something
hard.

Q. I understand what you are saying now.
A. Yes, okay.

Q. Do you want to find him in your photographs?
A. I was going to go through my photographs although I do
not know that mine are very good for seeing much.

Q. I had forgotten what the reference was?
A. They are in tab 6, I think.

Q. If you look at photograph 7?
A. The same box.

Q. It could be the same man?
A. It looks like it is, although it might not be, I
suppose. But it does look like him.

Q. It does not or does?
A. It does, does look like him.

Q. So it looks like the same man with the same box does it?
A. Yes. Well, the same lid, really. It is not a box, it
is just a lid.

Q. Right. Yes. Very well. Thank you.
A. Just to say that I think.

Q. And No. 12?
A. It is the same man again. It looks like he has
actually moved from the position in No. 4 over to the
driveway, which is actually, I think, where the
photographs, the colour photograph, was taken. Yes, if you
bear in mind that the my photographs are in the correct
order, and, as I say, I do not think the ones from
McDonald's are. But if you look at the position where he
is standing in relation to the kerb and the tree, there is
