Day 272 - 02 Jul 96 - Page 38
voice up.

Q. Then make sure you keep your voice up.

MS. STEEL: I do not know if you can pull your chair further
forward.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It does not matter what position you adopt as
long as you keep your voice up.
A. Yes, I have to apologise as well, I have got a bit of
a cold.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have noticed that, but it is important that
we hear every word of what you are saying. You were
saying?
A. Yes, I was saying that we were served the writs in
September, I think it was the 21st, 1990 and I wrote this
leaflet for the Day of Action to hand out. And I do not
remember discussing it with Dave or Helen or showing it to
them first. It was simply done off my own back.

MS. STEEL: Right. Where you have referred to, for example, in
the second line:

"Since then we have called for every October 16th to be a
World Day of Action Against McDonald's."

Who is the "we" that you are referring to?
A. It is London Greenpeace. It is not the Mclibel 5
Support Campaign because obviously that had just been
started after we got the writs.

Q. Okay. That is all the questions on that. On the October
1989 demonstration did you take any photographs?
A. Yes, I did.

Q. I do not know where Mr. Riley's exhibit box is, but they
got put in his exhibit box. That is the one. If they
could be handed to the witness. (Same handed)

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What has it marked on it?

THE CLERK: These are May '96. Is there any identification?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Anyway, they are tab 6 of pink 2.

MS. STEEL: Actually having said that, I have put mine in tab 6,
but they were actually originally documents on, I think,
supplementary list of documents number 38. I have put mine
behind my photographs that are in tab 6.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have photocopies there.

MS. STEEL: The black and white ones are the ones that I took.
There is a colour set that Mr. Gravett took.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yours are the ones at 23, are they?

MS. STEEL: Yes, the really bad photographs. You see I have got
a 38 in a green sticker in the corner of mine which would
