that is a very significant difference, is it not, in the
amount of cheese per person per day?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Then if you look at, let us skip milk for the moment. We
have more milk than the Germans and slightly less than the
French, and go to butter. It is a another ready source of
saturated fat and calories too, is it not?
       A. Yes.

  Q. This is grams per person today. The United Kingdom, we are
about 14 grams per person per day. The Germans are 20 and
the French are in excess of 20, maybe 23 or so. Again that
is a very significant difference between United Kingdom and
       France, is it not?
       A. Somewhat a bit of a difference, yes.

  Q. If you look at the left-hand columns, first of all, please.
Meat, not right over the page but still under the same,
these blocks of small columns. Under meat, and this is in
grams per person per day and this includes poultry. Have
       you got it?
       A. Yes.

  Q. The United Kingdom comes out at about 200 grams per person
per day, the Germans at just under 300, and the French just
on or just over 300. In other words, about 100 grams of
       meat per person per day more than we eat in this country;
       is that right?
       A. Yes.

  Q. It is only right you should also notice that "vegetables
and fruit box", which is the second one down on the
       left-hand side?
       A. Right.

  Q. Where we eat only about 380, would you say, grams per
       person per day?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Whereas both the Germans and the French eat rather more
than that, perhaps significantly more at about 500 or a
little less or more; is that right?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Then if you look at the middle column, figure C1, yes?
       A. You said C1?

  Q. Yes. It is in the middle of the page. I have moved away
from those little columns and I am moving to ----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just to the left of the one you have just
been looking at at the top. This one, Professor Campbell?
       A. OK, I see.

MR. RAMPTON: This is expressed as percentage of food energy
from fat. That is total fat?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Denmark and The Netherlands at the top. They are both well
