Day 287 - 25 Oct 96 - Page 21

admission. I think we made note of that when that came
out, if you remember. That was volunteered by Mr. Morganti
in one of his statements about the Brazilian chickens; and
we pray that in aid because that point is unchallenged and
       unchallengable.

That last point for Mr. Morganti would go towards the box
"gross misuse of resources", about "grains fed to cattle
in South American countries to produce the meat in
McDonald's hamburgers". But, I mean, that is a general
       case, anyway.

The last point I want to bring up -- methane will not take
very long, because it relates to pink volume 5, tab 31.
Having said that, I have not got the reference. Let me
just find it. I am just going to sit down and have a look
for the page reference. This might take me a little bit of
time, but we are ahead of time.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: We must break off at one o'clock, and I will
come back at two if you have got anything left.

  MR. MORRIS: Right.

MR. MORRIS: It just happens to be a tab with about 120 pages
in it. (Pause) Yes. It is page 582 of that bundle, and
it is in a document called "Let's get growing, America",
produced by McDonald's. In fact, the name "Let's get
growing, America" is trademarked, I notice, by McDonald's.
I think this actual tab is a bit confusing, because there
seem to be a number of different documents in it running
together. But it seems to be something produced in
collaboration with the World Wildlife Fund. I did ask
       Mrs. Brinley-Codd for the original.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: While you are on that -- it will only take
half a minute -- people keep referring to the World
Wildlife Fund. It is now the Worldwide Fund for Nature,
       I believe.

  MR. MORRIS: Right.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Is that what it has always been called or was
       it ----

MS. STEEL: It used to be called the World Wildlife Fund.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: When did it change?

MS. STEEL: About five or six years ago, at least, I think.

MR. MORRIS: This actual booklet here, it has got the words
World Wildlife Fund on it. I have a sneaking suspicion
they have actually changed their name back again.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It does not matter one jot to them, because
they have produced things with WWF on them, with a lot of
detail, addresses, phone numbers, everything else and
nowhere do they say what WWF stands for, it is just WWF.
But I wanted to be right about it.
