reason, and another" which Mrs. Hovi can give. That is the
one side. The second side is it is in breach of schedule
X, of regulation Y, and that adds strength to the opinion
which I had expressed. If you want to take the step, at
some stage I would like actually to read the Regulation to
       see what it says.

MR. MORRIS: The only ones that we have are the Statutory
Instruments, Fresh Meat Hygiene and Inspection Regulations
1992, which is 1992, No. 2037, published by HMSO.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Are they the Regulations you had in mind or
       some of them?
       A. That was when I referred to statutory requirements for
hygiene and mentioned the schedule, you will find it in
       those Regulations.

  Q. When you referred to Schedule 7 and Schedule 9, they were
       in those Regulations?
       A. That are found in those, yes.

  Q. Are they the ones which came into effect in January 1993?
       A. That is right.

MR. MORRIS: They are actually dated 1992?
       A. They went through Parliament then.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: They come into effect at some stage in the
       future?
       A. It usually says on the page when they come into effect.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you just have one copy at the moment?

MR. MORRIS: Yes, I can lend it to you, if you want. I do not
know whether everybody wants copies of it.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What I think you should do at some stage in
the future is to make copies of them. If you are going to
rely on there being an alleged breach of the Regulations,
make copies of them so that you can point me to the actual
provision, the construction of which is ultimately a matter
of law and not of expert evidence because it is English
law. Have a copy for the other side as well so they can
       check it.

MR. MORRIS: We may be able to, if we have not finished today,
ask Ms. Hovi to identify the relevant sections after she
       has -----

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MR. MORRIS: Possibly even during a break we could do that, and
maybe those sections could be photocopied by Mr. Riley or
       something?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: How many sheets of paper do you have there?

MR. MORRIS: There are about 25 sheets of paper here.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Let us see how we go. What I have in mind is
