Day 179 - 30 Oct 95 - Page 40

  Q. Is that the one, the serious one?
       A. That is, yes.

  Q. That is the serious one. Aged 18 at the time, it says, but
that is probably not right, is it, because your birthday
       was not until November.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It was because his birthday was November
1985, his 18th birthday; got the years wrong earlier.

MR. RAMPTON: So you were nearly 19 when that happened?
       A. Yes.

  Q. "Burnt hand on Mctoaster". That is the fourth one. Then
if you turn over, the next page, right at the bottom -- I
am sorry about the illegibility of this, and do not know if
this is you or not -- it is the last entry on the page:
"28th April 1987, stock room, back ripped on a protruding
screw, Simon Gibney". Is that you? Do you remember that
       or not?
       A. Yes, that is me.

  Q. That is you. "Torn skin tissue on back", and that is some
eight months before you left, is it not?
       A. Yes.

  Q. How many of those did you actually put in yourself -- not
the first one, you have told us about that.
       A. Two, I think.

  Q. Two. Were you particularly enthusiastic about ensuring
that your accidents got entered in the book?
       A. If I thought they were serious, yes.

  Q. I mean, are you telling us that you had lots and lots more
accidents than we have seen in that little review?
       A. Yes, small cuts and burns and .....

  Q. I see. Are you thinking it is a bad thing that small cuts
and burns do not go in the Accident Book? It does not
       matter, does it?
       A. Sometimes they should be in.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Have you finished with that, Mr. Rampton?

MR. RAMPTON: We have, my Lord.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Would you mind putting it back, Mr. Gibney?

MR. RAMPTON: Undercooked burgers, Mr. Gibney: You told us,
I think, that the complaints about these are mostly to do
with quarter pounders; is that right?
       A. Yes, that is right.

  Q. It is a fatter thing than a 10 to one, is it not?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Are you also conscious that in those days the quarter
pounder could be expected to have bits of pink in it even
