Day 062 - 06 Dec 94 - Page 39

       A. Yes, January 1991. I just wanted to make sure it was
not January 1992 or January 1990 or something. January
       1991.

MS. STEEL: Is that a note you made yourself or is that a
       document?
       A. It is from a document that I have retrieved from our
       files, yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: May I just have a look at it?
       A. It is this letter that we -- no, sorry. It is part of
       this letter.

  Q. What is the letter about?
       A. It is a general letter talking about all kinds of
affairs, one of the things -- including all kinds of other
       pricing issues etc..

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I thought maybe you just had a list of
percentages and dates or something, but it is not that at
       all.

MR. RAMPTON: I do not know what it is, I am afraid.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is a letter.
       A. It is a letter from the supplier to ourselves.

MR. RAMPTON: I see. There it is.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. I particularly did not make any point
in reading it, but it is not a tabulated list. It is in
ordinary paragraphs and I noticed that it had something
about the width of napkins as well?
       A. Yes.

  Q. That mentioned, did it, when ---
       A. Yes.

  Q. -- napkins went to 100 per cent?
       A. Exactly.

MR. MORRIS: Sorry, has it a date on it, that letter?
       A. Yes, it says by January 1991.

  Q. The letter?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No, the date of the letter itself?
       A. Oh, is December -- sorry. I think it is December --
       November 1990.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: 19?
       A. 90.

MS. STEEL: Is it possible to arrange for copies to be made?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think what you should do is, first of all,
show a copy to Mr. Rampton. Could Mr. Rampton just have a
       look at it? (Handed).

THE WITNESS: It is the first paragraph on the second page.
