Day 262 - 13 Jun 96 - Page 19

  Q. Did you ever raise it again?
       A. No, I did not, not that I recall.

  Q. So it was probably just forgotten about?
       A. I do not know. I have forgotten about it now.

  Q. The group was very open and trusting, was it not, and
       people were friendly?
       A. People were friendly and the group was open. I do not
know how trusting people as individuals were. But the
group, in general, was friendly and open, yes.

  Q. It was not like they were trying to hide what they were
       doing?
       A. Not in my experience.

  Q. If we move on to 21st December. At this meeting -- this
was a meeting at Endsleigh Street?
       A. Yes.

  Q. So this is a public open meeting?
       A. Yes.

  Q. It says: "In attendance were Paul Gravett, Helen Steel,
Andrew Clarke, John, Jonathan, Jane", and various
representatives of various others groups. It was a debate
about Christmas and Christianity. You have made a note
there that no mention was made of McDonald's, either in the
meeting or afterwards in the pub?
       A. That is correct, yes.

  Q. Then you say: "Nor was any mention made of any other
subject relevant to this case." What other subjects were
       relevant to the case?
       A. I do not recall what I meant when I wrote that now.

  Q. So, it might have been just if you had found out any
personal details about where someone lived or -----
       A. I suppose it might have been that, yes.

  Q. If we move on to 4th January.
       A. OK.

  Q. You say: "On arrival, I noted that the following people
were present: Paul Gravett, Andrew Clarke, Ben, and two
others unknown to me. One of these was along at the
meeting for the first time, but all that I discovered about
him was that he lives in Catford."

Are you aware now that that is Alan from Catford, who is
       one the other inquiry agents?
       A. I am aware now, yes.

  Q. This was put to you: "We were reminded about the meeting on
January 25th which would concern the future of the group
and plans for the coming year as well as the strategy
concerning a further anti-McDonald's plan in the form of
       another fair."
