Day 009 - 08 Jul 94 - Page 71
1
MR. MORRIS: That is all then.
2
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Thank you
3
Re-examined by Mr. Rampton.
4
Q. A very few questions, Mr. Langert: You were asked some
5 questions about the sort of things that McDonald's was
saying about the environment and recycling, in particular,
6 back in 1988, 89/90. Do you remember those questions?
A. Yes.
7
Q. This is just for reference, my Lord. In the annual report
8 of the corporation for 1989 -- I will pass in a copy
because it is a document that your Lordship might be
9 interested to see -- I do not know if the defendants have
seen this. They are, of course, entitled to see it on
10 inspection.
11 MISS STEEL: I think we disclosed a copy.
12 MR. RAMPTON: It has a beautiful photograph of some forest clad
hills and inside, so everybody can see, a picture of a
13 forest with sunlight coming through it. Inside some pages
about the environment. Can I pass that up? Inside also
14 is some seascape. I pass that up to Mr. Langert. My
Lord, the reference in the trial bundles is trial bundle
15 III, the pink bundle, section 1, pages 5 to 9. Has his
Lordship got the original now?
16 A. I have this.
17 Q. You use the original?
A. It is not in my trial bundle.
18
MR. JUSTICE BELL: You use the original.
19
MR. RAMPTON: It is clad in what one might call environmental
20 clothes, is it not? The outside cover is, as I said, a
beautiful picture of a part of America, I assume?
21 A. Yes.
22 Q. Inside there is quite a large amount about the environment
in a sort of fold up form?
23 A. Yes.
24 Q. Does it start with: "Agenda: Planet Earth" the actual
writing, do you see, on the inside -- no, by your left
25 hand?
A. Page 6. I have it now.
26
Q. That is what I am looking for. If you go over to what is
27 your third fold, do you see something called "Time for
Action"?
28 A. Yes.
29 Q. No need to read it out. This is page 8 of the bundle.
Cast your eye over those couple of columns.
30 A. Yes.
