Day 207 - 23 Jan 96 - Page 66

       A. If you follow me.

  Q. Yes. OK.
       A. So, in my case, my user number is 9531 and it has a six
digit password and I have to enter that on to the computer
then to gain access to the Husky.

  Q. All right, then. I do not think there are any more
questions I need to ask you about that. Let us see if
there is something else we can get out of the way.

MS. STEEL: Can I just ask, you said yesterday that you had, on
occasions, had payroll surgeries -- actually it might have
been the day before yesterday -- they were pretty
infrequent, were they? You said you have had them on
       occasions?
       A. Yes, I cannot remember, you know, the exact times and
       at what periods.

  Q. Maybe one, two, three in the last few years?
       A. I cannot put an exact date or put a number to it; they
have been used and not used by various Managers.

  Q. Was there somebody in charge of payroll queries?
       A. Yes, there would be a person appointed to deal with
       payroll queries.

  Q. Who was that?
       A. I cannot remember the individuals.

  Q. Who is it at the moment?
       A. At present, it is controlled by a gentleman called
       Geoff Railey.

  Q. What is his position?
       A. First Assistant.

  Q. How long has he been doing it? How long has he been the
       person in charge of queries?
       A. I cannot remember.

  Q. Just recently or two years, or what?
       A. I would say for a year. I cannot remember the exact
       time.

  Q. You do not remember who was in charge of it before him?
       A. No.

  Q. Would it surprise you if in one of the rap sessions crew
had said that they did not know who to go to with payroll
       queries?
       A. It would surprise me because I have dealt with payroll
queries myself directly, so I usually find that any member
of staff, you know, has -- you can clock people in and out
via the adjustment report would come to any Manager,
I feel, rather than just going solely to an individual as
       well.

  Q. So, at one stage are you saying there was not an individual
who was in charge of payroll queries? You could just go to
