Day 089 - 15 Feb 95 - Page 73
A. Yes.

Q. Please turn to the third page paragraph 15. I am
deliberately not going to read this out. I would like you
to read it to yourself, paragraph 15.
A. Yes.

Q. I ask you this. Do you know anything about the event which
Mr. North there purports to describe?
A. I personally have no knowledge of that event.

Q. Had such a thing occurred do you think that you would have
heard of it?
A. I would have expected to have heard of it, yes.

MR. RAMPTON: Thank you very much, Dr. Pattison. Would you just
remain there, please, to answer the Defendants' questions.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you want to start now?

MR. MORRIS: We do not really want to start now as there is not
a lot of time, but it may be appropriate to ask if
Mr. Pattison would be so kind as to get the documents, the
laboratory tests, for the days of the expert visits.
I believe McDonald's expert and Mr. North went together on
the same day. I cannot remember exactly, is that correct,
or they went on different days to Sun Valley?
A. They were different days.

MR. MORRIS: One day for 1992 before we question on that
tomorrow. Partly the reason for that is -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Which documents exactly are you asking for?

MR. MORRIS: This is 20 pages of McDonald's laboratory checks.
I cannot actually -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just pause a moment. When you say "20
documents a day about for McDonald's", you have
specifically in mind what those documents are, do you? Can
you describe one or two of them so you can give an
example?

THE WITNESS: Well, the documents I would be thinking of would
apply to the quality control checks that are done on the
deboned meat and also the laboratory checks. When I was
talking -----

Q. But what form do they take? Are they printed out of a
computer or are they in a certain form which is filled in
by hand and what happens to them then?
A. The results are usually filled in, the laboratory
results are filled in on forms usually by hand and they
indicate all the various checks that we carry out.
I cannot say whether we showed them to Mr. North or not.

Q. If he had asked for them would you have shown them to him?
A. Yes, of course.

Q. If he had asked to take copies away would you have?
