Day 267 - 21 Jun 96 - Page 27

16th". You said, "unable to get name and address", and
then you have got as the second letter, "A letter was also
received from Canada from a lady", and then you have got
Diane Coulinger and an address, a full address, a street
address, in the Nymow in Canada, who also sent leaflets
which she had made from leaflets sent to her by London
Greenpeace. And then below that you have got that she is
connected with the Breckin United Church and she was
organising a group of antiMcDonald's campaigners.

How did you manage to make a note of her address? Did
you have a notebook with you at the meeting?
       A. No, I did not, sir.

  Q. So this would have been a letter that you took?
       A. It probably would have been.

  Q. Underneath that you have got "reference was again made to
the 'big meeting' on the 25th January. This will be to
discuss the future of the group, the next antiMcDonald's
fair and the future of the antiMcDonald's campaign." They
would not have been the only things to be discussed, would
they, and that would not have been the only things
mentioned at that the meeting? You would have made a
special note about the antiMcDonald's stuff because that is
       what you were interested in?
       A. I do not recall anything being discussed. It may have
been but, yes, I was particularly interested in reference
       to antiMcDonald's campaign, sir.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think I can just see in the cutoff margin
of page 63 a cross against "she asked for more information"
and the line which reads "B to discuss the future of the
       group". Is that right?

MS. STEEL: I think the cross is actually the following page,
because of the fold in the page.
       A. "... some more information", sir, that line?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well, yes, Miss Steel suggests that there
may be, that may be the seam of the binding of the book
down middle and the cross may be against something else,
       but can you recall?
       A. I do not see a cross on this particular copy but I
would guess that is the seam for the next page.

MS. STEEL: You can actually see it quite clearly on page 11.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, that is page 70.
       A. Yes.

MS. STEEL: You can see it opposite the "cooperative bank" bit?
       A. That is right.

  Q. And the "I also managed to obtain through correspondence."
       A. Yes.

  Q. Actually I was moving on to page 11 anyway.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Page 70.
