Day 060 - 02 Dec 94 - Page 46
countries?
A. Yes, for those countries that would not have major
offices, yes.

Q. Only for those countries that do not have major offices?
A. By and large, yes. As I said earlier, I think the
major offices would be aware of it but MDC basically serves
the smaller countries in Europe.

Q. So, in other words, because the UK is a major office, it
would know about the German packaging situation anyway?
A. I would think so, yes.

Q. You are involved, of course, with the Purchasing Department
in the UK?
A. Yes.

Q. So would you be keeping up-to-date with developments in
Germany that might be relevant to other countries?
A. The UK Purchasing Department would not be up-to-date
with developments in Germany.

Q. Do you know Henry Delage?
A. I know of him.

Q. Environment Manager in Germany?
A. I know of him, yes.

Q. On page 723 he is quoted in the last two paragraphs. Do
you want to have a quick read of those? In the second
paragraph he is making a recognition, is he not, that
recyclable waste is a valuable product deserving of as much
handling care and attention as any other raw product that
is delivered, correct?
A. Yes.

Q. So I will not ask any further questions. OK, thank you
very much. You would agree with what he says?
A. Have we finished with volume?

Q. Yes. Would you agree with that last point, what he said?
A. I think he is basically talking to the German company,
I assume -- yes, it is.

Q. That is all from me at the moment.
A. Have you finished with this volume?

MR. MORRIS: Yes, thank you very much.

MS. STEEL: I want to move on to -- you still have your
statement there?
A. Yes.

Q. -- the percentage of recycled content in the packaging used
by McDonald's: The figures that start on page 8?
A. Yes.

Q. Where did you get those figures from?
A. These basically would have come through Perseco and our
suppliers.
