Day 188 - 15 Nov 95 - Page 32

Alistair", did she saying anything else about what she
       meant?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well, it is obvious, is it not?

THE WITNESS: I would have thought it is obvious.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do not even bother to -----

MR. MORRIS: Yes. It is just -- well, OK. It is obvious to
       everybody.

On page 16, two-thirds of the way down the page, it says
       "Friday lunchtime"?
       A. Yes.

  Q. You put: "Friday lunchtime, Corinne accompanied us." That
       is Corinne, the PR woman?
       A. That is Corinne, the PR woman, yes.

  Q. Where did she accompany you to?
       A. We went to lunch outside the store. I think -- from my
memory, I think it is the pizza place just along the Strand
       from McDonald's.

  Q. "She reported that Alistair (the Wandsworth Store Manager at
Hamburger University)" -- so he was the Store Manager, yes?
       A. Yes.

  Q. "...had been told off for being critical of management
techniques during filming. Alistair asked if this counted
as a severe reprimand. Corinne said she said, 'Oh, do not
worry, you will not lose your job.' Later, however, she
told us she heard Bill Tindale ringing Paul Preston
reporting that he had been critical of McDonald's
management and techniques and was perhaps, therefore, not a
suitable person to be a Store Manager."

Is that what Corinne told you over lunch, effectively?
       A. Yes. Corinne told Jane Gabriel and myself that over
       lunch.

  Q. OK. In that case, I do not need to weed out the section of
the statement on that matter. So, on page 3, second
       paragraph:

"This was fairly typical of attitudes throughout our
filming. During the rap session, one of the crew members
who did not want to go, he thought they were a waste of
time since nobody took any real notice of them, was ordered
by his Store Manager to attend."

       How do you know that?
       A. Because I saw him being told to go to the rap session.

  Q. Told by?
       A. By Michael, I think.

  Q. One of the managers?
       A. Yes, one of the managers.
