     2        bit more, anyway.

     5        could it, Mr. Rampton?

    20        a union rep to help resolve the serious problems confronted
    21        by the employees.  Upon hearing my refusal, he told me to
    22        take three days to think about it and that if I still
    23        persisted with my activities all hopes of promotion for me
    24        would be gone and, in effect, there would be confrontation
    25        between us."  This "between us" is in inverted commas.

    41        rooms were confiscated, and I was asked to carry out tasks
    42        incompatible with the job of Zone Manager.  These tasks
    43        were carried out under difficult, stressful and degrading
    44        conditions.  I was assigned to the late shifts (closing
    45        every evening at 2.30 a.m.).  I became isolated in my work
    46        and was under constant supervision by the management.
    47        I was continually reprimanded.  The management refused to
    48        provide me with new work uniforms and, as the one I had was
    49        too small, I was in pain.  My wages were regularly late and
    50        they refused me benefits allowed to other staff (such as 
    51        the 50 per cent discount on meals)."

    53        Can you explain, what 50 per cent discount on meals; is
    54        that on McDonald's meals?

    56   MR. RAMPTON:  Once again, my Lord, I rise -- and this helps
    57        Mr. Morris, so he can be grateful to me -- to point out
    58        that the French actually says "reduction of 50 per cent on
    59        meals in all McDonald's restaurants", and that is missing
    60        from the English.
