Day 202 - 11 Jan 96 - Page 43

       A. No recollection whether I did or did not. The relevant
paperwork I know was sent to the Human Resources department
and it was really their job to keep one, you know, that
       copy available.

  Q. But you never kept a check on whether the stores were
keeping things for as long as they were supposed to be
       keeping them?
       A. The Human Resources department, when they went to do
that sort of thing, they did check on the audit, was that
clock cards were kept for a particular length of time.

  Q. That is with the Human Resources audit?
       A. Yes, and the schedules were. I think there was a
change of legislation, I recollect, that we used to have to
keep them for three months and then we had to keep them for
six months, and we had to keep other documents for five
years, and we were trying to do that.

  Q. I do not know whether Mrs. Brinley-Codd could help?
I wanted to ask a question about something in here.

MR. MORRIS: It is nine pages from the back.

MS. STEEL: The pages are not numbered, I am afraid.
       Description of the management menu.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: How many pages from the back?

MS. STEEL: Nine pages from the back.
       A. At the top it says "description of management menu".

MS. STEEL: Yes, that is right.
       A. Got it.

  Q. At the bottom of that page, this is about the management
menu in the time recorder system, the Husky Hunter, which
is on the preceding page. Are you familiar with this
       document?
       A. Not -- I recognise the picture on the front of the
Husky, but I am not familiar with the contents of it by any
       means.

  Q. Just to look down this page, it says that the management
menu can produce reports which relate to the day, week and
pay periods, as well as clocking transactions. I will not
read all of this out. Then it says: "Reports available for
production are", and then it has a list of reports. All
these reports that are listed here, are they all reports
which management at the store are expected to produce on a
       regular basis?
       A. Does it not say in here what reports are required to be
       produced and when?

  Q. I do not think it does. It just says what are available,
but, I mean, if there are some you do not know about, then
say so, but I presume you know about the crew report and
the pay period summary and at least the first few?
       A. I am sorry, I could not define what was in a crew
report, I could hazard a guess; I could again probably
