Day 274 - 04 Jul 96 - Page 32
A. It must have been the end of September. I mean, I was
still involved with Hackney and Islington Animal Rights
Campaign and I went to the odd London Greenpeace event.

Q. Yes, thank you. I think the only file you are going to
need, at the moment at least, is the file of agents' notes,
and I would like to start halfway through 1990, if I may,
on 14th June, which is at page 143.

MR. MORRIS: Which person?

MR. RAMPTON: It is Mr. Bishop.

MR. MORRIS: Thank you.

MR. RAMPTON: I am only going to ask you, Miss Laporte, about
meetings which you are said to have attended. The third
paragraph reads as follows:

"Around 2000 hours - which I call 8 o'clock - Jane arrived
and in the absence of any other arrivals the meeting
commenced."

MS. STEEL: Sorry, where are we?

MR. RAMPTON: 143. 14th June 1990, Mr. Bishop's note.

"Around 8 o'clock Jane arrived and in the absence of any
other arrivals the meeting commenced. I draw to your
attention that Paul Gravett, Johnson and somebody called
Andrew from Horsham were also there. It followed the usual
pattern. Main items that arose from correspondence
received there was a letter from one Dave Shell in Los
Angeles who apparently regularly sends the group
information on what is happening in respect of McDonald's
restaurants in America."

If I can pause there, do you remember that or not? Do you
remember Dave Shell, if the name is right?
A. I do not remember his name, no.

Q. But do you remember there was somebody who regularly sent
you information about McDonald's from America?
A. I remember there was -- we did get letters from
America. I cannot recall if they were all from the same
person.

Q. Like that one from Peter Tolk in New York, I suppose?
A. Yes.

Q. So people would write in from different parts of the world
keeping you up to date on McDonald's information in their
part of the world; is that right?
A. I think that they felt that they wanted to keep us up
to date. It was not something that we asked for
necessarily.

Q. And then the note goes on:

"It did not seem to contain much interesting information
