Day 107 - 24 Mar 95 - Page 25
for example, on 12th January 1994, there were, in fact,
only two finished products, individual products, that were
tested, which is on page No. 9 of those documents, at
McKey's for McDonald's use. Therefore, the ledger entry,
which is two entries for 12th January 1994, is the complete
testing regime, which would save a lot of time if that was
true, because there would be no point in getting any more
documents because there would not be any.

MR. RAMPTON: I do not know whether that is right or not.
Anyway, what Mr. Morris has said is not accurate because he
has not looked at the documents that I gave him.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Let us look at them now. It takes time, I
appreciate, but it may be well spent at the end of the
day. Pink VIII, is it?

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, the last three pages of pink VIII. They
are not in date order. The first one is finished product
at Milton Keynes, I think.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Which tab again?

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, it is tab 7C.

THE WITNESS: My Lord, sorry to interrupt. Could I be excused
for five minutes?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, do. Come back as soon as you can,
Mr. North.

(The witness withdrew)

MR. RAMPTON: I understand that to be finished product results
at Milton Keynes. There are two entries there for
12th January 1994, apparently destined for Holland and
Denmark. The microbiological counts correspond with the
typewritten entries for that day which are on the second
page of the typewritten document. The 1.4 x 10 to the 5
has been rounded up from 136,000, which is what appears in
the fifth column of the ledger.

Then, my Lord, if one wants to see what the quarter pounder
result was, one has to turn to -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just pause a moment.

MR. RAMPTON: Mrs. Brinley-Codd has called that page 10.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I was reading these through this morning.
There are two entries, one for Holland and one for Denmark,
for 12th January.

MR. RAMPTON: Yes. Those correspond to item B1 and 2 in the
typewritten document as one can see.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, I cannot immediately find that.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, it should be right at the front of that
tab. It is the second page of that typewritten document
