cross-examine get copies of what she has referred to but
which has not been previously copied.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, that is desirable for another reason,
that the week after next is supposed to be gap, so it is
desirable, if possible, she should give her evidence next
       week.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That whole week is not sacrosanct; it was a
suggestion. Unless I am called elsewhere because it is
thought the week could be made available, we will have to
make our arrangements as we go along.

MS. STEEL: Can I clarify what was going on next week, because
I think it was said before that Mr. Miles cannot attend on
       Tuesday and Wednesday.

  MR. RAMPTON: No, he cannot.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What was the day later in the week when he
       could come back?

MR. RAMPTON: He can come on Monday where he has always been.
He was to have been today and obviously could not come
today. He is has also got Thursday free provided -- well,
he has it free, but he would like, with your Lordship's
leave, to go A.W.L for two hours at lunch time because he
       has pre-existing business.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: He could be here the whole of Monday and on
Thursday with a gap in the middle of the day?

  MR. RAMPTON: Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Were you proposing to go back to Mr. Hawkes
       on Tuesday and Wednesday?

MR. RAMPTON: Yes, as soon as it was convenient to your
Lordship. Tuesday would be, if Mr. Miles has got to not be
here on Tuesday, then Mr. Hawkes could come on Tuesday.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: So unless we went particularly quickly, we
would not get to the Defendants' witnesses until Friday
       anyway?

MR. RAMPTON: We might get to them on Wednesday because
Mr. Hawkes has been cross-examined to a great extent
       already.

MS. STEEL: I do not think we would want to call Miss Dibb
before we have finished cross-examining Mr. Miles.

MR. RAMPTON: Mr. Miles, I suspect, will be about an hour
in-chief only, because there will not be any, I suspect,
any scientific papers to look at.

MS. STEEL: If he is going to give the evidence that is in his
statement now, there are scientific papers we want to see
       before we do cross-examination.
