  Q. If you go to paragraph 7 in your statement, please, you say
at the bottom that you "would not consider it fair for
someone who did not work as hard or as well as me to be
       paid the same"?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Do you think that hard work should be rewarded?
       A. Yes, I do.

  Q. Under "scheduling", you do say that, technically, your
hours are not guaranteed, but you have been able to always
       get the hours you wanted?
       A. Yes; since I have become breakfast Manager, yes.

  Q. You say you have never experienced Managers using the
scheduling as a tool of discipline?
       A. No.

  Q. But you knew your set pattern, anyway?
       A. Yes.

  Q. So it would not affect you?
       A. No. I have not heard -- none of my friends who are
crew members have ever complained to me about it, never
said: "I am not getting enough hours", or, "I am getting
       too many."

  Q. Did you ever attend any rap sessions?
       A. No, I have never.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: They are normally held late in the day, as
       I understand it?
       A. Yes. But even before I was breakfast Manager, I never
       ever went to any.

MR. MORRIS: Did you ever read the rap session notes posted on
       the notice board?
       A. Not every one, but I usually glance through them, yes.

  Q. So you are aware that there has been a wide range of
       complaints contained in those notes?
       A. Well, I have read the file that I had, yes, so I am
       aware of it, yes.

  Q. Would you say those crew members that do make complaints
are generally frivolous or they are serious about -----
       A. I would say if they went to the rap session and
complained, they would be serious about them, yes, or they
       would not .....

  Q. You said in paragraph 9: "The system sometimes breaks down,
for example, when crew members are sick, fail to turn up
for a shift or when a number of experienced crew return to
college or university and new crew have to be trained." It
is at those points, is it, that the scheduling system comes
       under particular pressure?
       A. Yes, it is when it is more difficult, yes.

  Q. You say you have no recollection of ever having worked more
