14 A. That is correct, yes.

17 A. Last July.

19 Q. Last July. Thank you. Do you have, Mrs. Barnes, a degree
20 in biochemistry from the University of Oxford?
21 A. I do.

23 Q. When did you join McDonald's?
24 A. I joined McDonald's in August 1982.

26 Q. How soon after leaving Oxford was that?
27 A. A year. I did a hotel and catering management course
28 in between.

30 Q. In what capacity did you join McDonald's, at what level?
31 A. I joined McDonald's as a trainee manager.

33 Q. Did you work in the restaurants?
34 A. I did. I worked in the restaurants for two years
35 progressing to Restaurant Manager at the Crewe restaurant.

38 A. Crewe in Cheshire.

40 Q. Did you spend all those two years in the same restaurant or
41 work in different ones?
42 A. No, I moved around. I worked at Stockport,
43 Macclesfield, Chester, Crewe and for a little while at
44 Bexleyheath down in London.

50 A. I have not yet viewed it.

56 Restaurant Manager. Just briefly, Mrs. Barnes, if you can
57 remember -- it was 12, 13 years ago now -- what was your
58 impression of the working environment so far as the safety
59 of the crew members were concerned in those days in
60 Cheshire?
