Day 259 - 10 Jun 96 - Page 76
amount to, I think, about a dozen, including 17th May.
Does that sound right or is that a huge under statement?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have got 11 on my list.

MR. MORRIS: It should be 12.

MR. RAMPTON: Yes, I think it is 12.
A. With a couple of exceptions, I seem to recall attending
meetings every week.

Q. Sometimes at 5 Caledonian Road and sometimes at 6 Endsleigh
Street, is that right?
A. Yes, there were weeks where I did not attend any.

Q. Then I think you also went to -- I do not know what to call
it; I think you would call it a "mini fare" at Finsbury
Park?
A. Yes, I did.

Q. Followed by a visit to the George Roby, or is it the Sir
George Roby public house?
A. Yes, that is correct.

Q. I think that was on 16th June, 1990. Can I ask you this?
The Defendants have recently -- in fact Friday, I think it
was -- on Friday have said that when -- do you remember
your description of the Finsbury Park mini fare where there
was a rickety table with some leaflets?
A. Yes, I do.

Q. Including some anti-McDonald's material?
A. Yes.

Q. And a poster, I think, advertising the Day of Action on
16th October?
A. Yes, there was.

Q. The Defendants now say that when the party went to the
George Roby public house you went with them?
A. I did.

Q. That you, on that occasion, later on that same day 16th
June 1990, you, yourself, handed out anti-McDonald's
leaflets; is that true or false?
A. That is incorrect. I attended at the George Roby
public house with two others, and all three of us were
standing by the table which had been erected just inside
the front door. At a time that I cannot recall now the
other two, male and female, wanted to go and dance or
listen to the music that was taking place in the back
room. I sat on the only chair that was available by the
table, simply to stop anyone from trashing it or
interfering with it. I did not hand out any leaflets.

MS. STEEL: Can I just say, actually, that strictly speaking
what Mr. Rampton put to the witness was not exactly what we
put. We just said that leaflets were distributed. That
did not mean handed out.
