Day 261 - 12 Jun 96 - Page 69
A. Yes, I have a recollection of him. I have just seen a
photograph which I believe to be him, so -- but, yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Which one do you think that is?
A. In -----

Q. Which set, first of all?
A. Set A, photograph 7 -- holding the corner of a large
black banner where the word "London" is visible in green
lettering.

Q. Holding -----
A. A banner or a piece of cloth with the word "London"
visible.

Q. The taller man with specs?
A. Yes, that is right; with the dark jacket on, and grey
T-shirt. I seem to recall him having a beard at some time.

MS. STEEL: OK. Then if could get from the shelves behind you
a bundle with a pink and white spine? I think they are the
ones on the top shelf.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Have we finished with that bundle?

MS. STEEL: Yes. You did not recognise any of the ones in
set B and set C as the ones that you had been shown?
A. Photographs?

Q. Yes.
A. No, I never recognised those as the ones I was shown,
no.

Q. I think it is one, but I might be wrong. It is number 78.
Have you got counterclaim document number 78 there? It
should be "Subject: London Greenpeace protest", date
18th October 1989.
A. Yes, yes, I have that now.

Q. If you just read through that, and if you can tell us
whether or not you have seen that document before?
A. I could not honestly say. I do not recall. I may have
done, I may not have. I really do not know.

Q. When you talk in your notes of 2nd November about "Helen
fits the description of Helen Steel described by client
company in the letter accompanying the photographs", is it
likely that this is the thing that you were referring to?
A. It is possible, but I really could not say one way or
the other.

Q. Would you have described this as a letter?
A. Well, I may have done. I really do not know.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, everybody knows that that document was
enclosed with the letter which Mrs. Brinley-Codd wrote to
Hartley's on 19th October.

MS. STEEL: That does not mean that there was not another one
sent at another time.
