Day 161 - 24 Jul 95 - Page 26

       A. I would say about three metres, four metres,
       approximately,

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have to say that I take that with a
considerable pinch of salt, unless it was staffed by
extremely small people. Some people are appalling judges
at distance, whatever else can be said for their credit.

MISS STEEL: Yes, I know. (To the witness) Could you say
roughly, in terms of the courtroom, from the counter to the
Chicken McNuggetts; how that would compare?
       A. I would say from here to the door, or slightly longer.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If it is important, somebody can step it out
later and just say out loud that they have strode out and
it appears to be about so many metres.

MISS STEEL: Does the plan actually appear as though it is
roughly to scale; in other words, from one end of the
counter to -- well, the tills at the furthest end to each
other, would that be roughly the same distance?
       A. What, the distance -----

  Q. From till 1 to till 10.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: All Ms. Steel is asking you -- we do not know
the scale, so we cannot put a rule on it and measure
distance -- but does it appear all to be in proper
       proportion, to you?
       A. Yes, sir.

MISS STEEL: Then, if you turn to the McDonald's questionnaire
at the front; did you have any input into this document?
       A. Which one?

  Q. When it was being prepared, were you asked questions for
       the purposes of it?
       A. Of the observation checklist?

  Q. No, of the McDonald's questionnaire -- like that.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Did you make any contribution to the drafting
       of the questionnaire?

MISS STEEL: Or answering the questions, is more -----
       A. I do not remember.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, I think the trouble is, because it comes
from a big file or medium size file full of correspondence
between the television film contractor company and Head
Office, these are questions asked by, probably, Miss Tobin,
       and answered by Head Office.

MS. STEEL: I did not think the witness was involved in the
       questions.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I misunderstood Miss Steel's question. Ask
       it again, Ms. Steel.

MISS STEEL: (To the witness) Do you remember being asked any
