MS. STEEL: Yes, the stuff that goes to manufacturing?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What started this line of questioning was
after talking of Tesco's Freedom pork and Safeways heritage
pork. You said that the rest goes to various manufacturers
       including McKey?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. Ms. Steel was saying the rest that goes to various
manufacturers, she asked you was that a mixture of outside
       and indoor pork?
       A. It can be, but if someone specifically wanted the
outdoor pork for manufacturing, say, into free-range
sausages, we can do it very easily and put it in separate
containers so it can be shipped to the respective
manufacturer or we can use it ourselves.

  MS. STEEL: Right.
       A. I do apologise, sir.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If at any stage you are not sure what you are
       being asked then say so.

  THE WITNESS: Thank you.

MS. STEEL: McKey's do not have that specification, do they?
       A. What, the specification for?

  Q. Solely outdoor portions?
       A. Not solely for outdoor, no.

  Q. So they would get, what, a mixture, would they?
       A. Yes, they would get a mixture.

  Q. Or is it mostly indoor they would get?
       A. It varies. It varies from day-to-day upon demand.

  Q. Is it the majority of the outside meat would go for premium
sale in supermarkets labelled as "freedom foods"?
       A. Yes, it has to remain just to business.

  Q. That is where the majority of it goes, yes?
       A. Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What may be being put to you is if it costs
more to rear outside you could give someone like McKey the
better price if you always gave them indoor meat from
       indoor pigs?
       A. Yes, that is so, but with -----

  Q. Especially if they are only 5 per cent of your output
       whereas your indoor breeders ----
       A. Yes, if we do not use ----

  Q. Use more than that?
       A. Yes. If we do not use all our outdoor reared pork or
free-range pork for, say, the people who are making
free-range sausage etc., there is, you know, a surplus
McKey's stand a chance to have some. On the other hand, if
