Day 125 - 12 May 95 - Page 50

and I could not remember whether she was black or not.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I did not find her on the list.

MR. RAMPTON: On which list, my Lord?

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: There.

MR. RAMPTON: She is in the first column.

THE WITNESS: She is on our Board of Directors.

MR. RAMPTON: She is the fifth name down.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have it, yes. Thank you.

MR. RAMPTON: It looks like a bloke but, in fact, it is a
woman. The third column, Mr. Beavers, the 11th name down
is somebody called Henry E. Gonzales Junior. Which ethnic
       group does he come from?
       A. He is Hispanic.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: So I should ----

MR. RAMPTON: I have not marked him because he was not
mentioned. Then right at the bottom of that column there
       is somebody called Gene Wong?
       A. He is Asian.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I merely ask the same question but one has to
       be so careful these days.

MR. RAMPTON: One cannot take anything for granted these days.
Thank you, Mr. Beavers. My Lord, might Mr. Beavers be
       released now?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, certainly. Thank you, Mr. Beavers.

THE WITNESS: Thank you, my Lord.

                       (The witness withdrew)

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Mr. Rampton, while it has just occurred to me
(and it does not need an answer this afternoon), you gave a
reference on Wednesday afternoon for the ruling which
I gave in relation to the Geoffrey Juliano pleading. In
fact, the transcript also shows 27th April 1994, page 10B
to 11B. I looked at that and it appears to be part of an
argument which was on another topic.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, that is, I think, probably because in my
       copy -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I am not asking for an answer now, but in the
fullness of time if you could give me, if that is wrong,
the correct reference, I would be grateful.

MR. RAMPTON: I think it is two separate documents is the
       answer.
