Day 261 - 12 Jun 96 - Page 50

about the first time you saw the leaflet was at
Caledonian Road or Endsleigh Street, and then you
said, "Then I was told that the Greenpeace fair actually
occurred before the first meeting." Was that something you
       were told over lunch?
       A. Was what something I was told over lunch? I am going
on what was told this morning.

MR. MORRIS: Did you have a chance to discuss this over lunch at
       all, some of this chronology?
       A. I suppose there was a chance, but I did not.

  Q. You did not?
       A. No.

  Q. Did you discuss some of these issues over lunch?
       A. No, I do not think I did, no.

  Q. You are not sure?
       A. Well, I am sure I did not discuss any of these issues
       over lunch, no.

  MR. MORRIS: Right. (Pause)

MR. JUSTICE BELL: We must keep going. If you have more general
questions to ask, do. Otherwise, I suggest you ask -----

MR. MORRIS: We are trying to do it in the right order. We are
trying to get some of the general questions out.

(To the witness) Just in general, a general question which
will be helpful. In your notes, the notes, your
reliability on the actual people that attended, those
specific dates -- are you quite reliable about that? Do
you feel that you have actually recorded the names of the
people who attended, except where you have made mistakes on
the name, maybe; but, in general, you reckon you have
identified the people who were at the various meetings that
       you attended?
       A. I certainly identified the people I know, or knew.
There may have been later meetings where I did not mention
       everyone who attended.

  Q. Where you did not know someone's name, did you generally
write down "plus one or two others", or something like
       that?
       A. I suppose I generally would have, yes. I cannot
guarantee I did it every time, but I generally would have.

  Q. So, in general, the attendance and the names, the
identified individuals, would be a fairly accurate record
of the whole period that you attended?
       A. A fairly accurate record, yes, of those people that
I knew who were there when I was there, yes.

  Q. I am trying to -- but in terms of -- if you did not know
someone's name, you would generally write down "plus one or
two others or four or five others", or whatever?
       A. I would generally write that down, yes.
