over is excellent", and on the following page on page 111
it says, "You are the most experienced and respected of our
training squad, providing a consistently high level of
training procedures and reliability which places you high
in the estimation of crew and Managers alike", I think it
says. Are you considered something of a star worker, or
were you at this time anyway?
A. I think I was considered as a hard worker, yes; a
conscientious worker, yes.

Q. But, I mean, you said you did not consider it fair for
someone who did not work as hard or as well as you to be
paid the same. Did you feel that you were, at this time,
considered to be one of the best members of the workforce?
A. I think I was one of the most respected, yes.

Q. Anyway, whoever is doing the reviews seemed to think that
you are one of the best. On this occasion you were just
rated good and got a five pence increase; is that correct?
A. It says here, yes.

Q. Was this at the time when there was -- I think we heard it
over the previous couple of days -- that the Managers had
to get permission, or something, if they wanted to give
more than a five pence increase?
A. Yes, it is possible; I would not know. It is possible,

112, it seems that what was being dated was every two
months, the PRs - 12.6.89, 1.8.89, 10.8.89, it suddenly
goes to 12.89 -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You are suggesting that was a change from two
to four months?

MR. MORRIS: Between 12.89 and 4.90, yes.

MS. STEEL: (To the witness): Just on the subject of customer
complaints, you have mentioned a few, I think; are you
aware of other complaints about undercooked products?
A. No, not really, because I would not be told about it;
normally only the ones that I have been directly involved
on when I was working on grill or wrap and call.

Q. Did you ever get complaints about undercooked buns?
A. Undercooked buns. We have had complaints in respect
that somebody has brought it back and said it is cold but
not actually undercooked; they have said it is not hot
enough.

Q. Right. What is the procedure on that?
A. They go in and check the toasters, make sure about the
temperature of the toasters and the compression of the
