MS. STEEL: Sorry, the point I was actually making -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Ask one more question and then we will have a
break.

MS. STEEL: The point I was making was that there was not -- it
is our case that there was no performance review in May.
So that is really all I was saying.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. We will have a break there.

(Short Adjournment)

MS. STEEL: If you could turn to page 8 of your statement, in
the paragraph at II you talk about an inventory which had
been done under Ray Coton's supervision. What sort of
inventory are you talking about here?
A. Food, paper, and -- of supplies. I think it was two
inventories.

Q. You were told that it had been carried out by other people,
by other Managers? Was it by other Managers?
A. Well, parts of it had been completed by just about
every Manager who had been involved on the night shift and
on the morning shift, and parts of it had been entered by
different people. So there was no clear accountability for
exactly who completed the inventory. The final figures
were totally -- were inaccurate, and the
cross-multiplication was inaccurate. So there was no, if
you like, there was no way of holding any one person
responsible for conducting the inventory, apart from the
fact that the restaurant Manager is responsible for
ensuring that inventories are conducted properly in their
restaurant. All sorts of people were involved; far too
many people were involved in this exercise.

Q. So, that is what you mean when you say it was done under
Ray Coton's supervision, just the fact that he was the
Manager of the store?
A. No. I mean more than that. If he had been, say, on
holiday, then it would have been different. If he had been
party to it, which I think he was, then it was more
directly under his supervision. If he had been on holiday,
it would have been something that I would have discussed
with him, or, if he had been scheduled off, it would have
been something I would have discussed with him when he came
back into the store the people who were completing it did
not know what they were doing and that we were to make sure
that they do know what they are doing.

Q. I do not know whether this is a particularly important
point to chase up here. So, in the interests of saving
time -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No.

MR. MORRIS: You said on page 13 of your statement, in the
middle of the first incomplete paragraph, at the top: "Ray
