Day 255 - 23 May 96 - Page 49

MR. MORRIS: Yes. You would not bother if the press got
       completely the wrong impression?
       A. I do not think they would have got the wrong
       impression.

  Q. You do not think so. OK. The next page and a bit is a
kind of summary of what the leaflet is about, and then
about McDonald's kind of response on the various issues?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Is that information which you would have introduced to
those discussions: "This is what it is about"?
       A. No, not the second part.

  Q. But the first part?
       A. That first group, the leaflet states that. I think
then we were dividing the leaflet up into its separate
compartments, and that was the way we did it.

  Q. Right, so that was a kind of handy summary of what the
issues were as far as your company was concerned?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Right, what the leaflet was about. That is the one
complained of? The leaflet complained of; is it?
       A. Yes.

  Q. That is the one we are talking about the pull-out,
London Greenpeace fact sheet, just so that we all know we
are talking about the same thing?
       A. Yes, what I would call the 1987 version.

  Q. OK. The information underneath that about McDonald's
       record on these various issues?
       A. Yes.

  Q. For environment,, nutrition et cetera. Who provided that
       information?
       A. I have no idea. They would get it from all over the
       Company, I would have thought.

  Q. They would?
       A. Yes.

  Q. On the last page, the third bullet point down, do you know
where the information came from about:

"The group have long had the informal support of lawyers
and this has now been formalised with the appointment of a
City law firm and two specialist libel barristers to advise
       them."

Do you know where that information came from?
       A. No.

  Q. We are just checking if there is anything more we need to
       ask about that.

Can I just say, not as a question to the witness, but we
will note the Plaintiffs' summary of the issues in the
