Day 170 - 05 Oct 95 - Page 17

unlikely her hours were cut because she did not work many
hours in the first place", yet she was working 35 hours a
       week?
       A. What she was -- I understand it to believe that she was
full-time all the time and we employed -- she was employed
       as a part-time staff.

  Q. Yes. Do you know what hours? For the summer weeks before
22nd June she was working 35 hours or more a week. What
hours did she work when she came back as a party hostess in
       August, can you remember?
       A. I think -- I cannot remember speaking with her, but she
just worked when the parties were -- when we had children's
       parties, mainly on a Sunday.

  Q. Yes.

MR. MORRIS: Did she not do lobby work as well?
       A. Yes.

  Q. She did?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Is it true to say your memory of that time is fairly hazy?
       A. When she came back to work, yes.

  Q. So what is the one thing about that time that you remember
       very clearly?
       A. Her accident and the time she was a party hostess.

  Q. The actual accident itself?
       A. The actual accident.

  Q. That is something that did not appear in your statement.
Are you aware that the accident is the subject of court
       proceedings for compensation?
       A. No.

  Q. Are you aware that there was a claim for compensation made?
       A. Only when I read her statement.

  Q. Let us assume, for the sake of argument, she has made a
claim for compensation -- that is a legal fact -- nobody
ever came to interview you from McDonald's insurance
company or relevant department relating to that?
       A. I cannot remember. I cannot remember. I can just
remember someone coming down from the Environmental Health
to inspect the area where she fell.

  Q. What did the Environmental Health say?
       A. He did not. He just looked at the area and checked on
my records to see if it was recorded.

  Q. The accident?
       A. Yes.

  Q. That was because of a complaint, was it, by -----
       A. I do not know.

  Q. You did not call out the Environmental Health Officer?
