Day 078 - 26 Jan 95 - Page 66
going forwards. It has been an attempt to point out where
you might not make progress and could leave it for another
occasion.

MR. MORRIS: Yes. I think may be it is a good time to finish.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. Is there any other matter, any other
topic, we can move on to?

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, yes. Although I am in your Lordship's
hands, I do feel somewhat resistant to the idea that
Mr. Morris sets court hours for this reason, that I have to
consider my witnesses. I do not want Mr. Walker to trickle
over to the end of tomorrow if we can usefully do some more
business in the last 10 minutes.

MS. STEEL: I can ask some questions, if you want.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: My question was if there is any other topic
which we can dispose of this afternoon.

MS. STEEL: I have not got a topic but I have a few odd
questions that I could ask.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do that then.

MR. MORRIS: We have substantial questioning for tomorrow.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I understand that; it is whether we can go on
for, say, another quarter of an hour usefully this
afternoon rather than break off now. Your questions,
Ms. Steel.

MS. STEEL: Yesterday you were asked about a letter that you
wrote on McDonald's headed notepaper. In that letter you
said about the company structure had changed in December of
1982 and McDonald's now own McKey. Can I just clarify, was
that when McDonald's bought Keystone's shares in the
company?
A. Yes.

Q. It was. You still owned shares in the company at that
time?
A. Yes.

Q. Right. Was McKeys ever 100 per cent owned by McDonald's?
A. No.

Q. Would you say there has been a fairly flexible relationship
between McDonald's and McKey's?
A. Flexible?

Q. Yes.
A. Yes, I think you could say "flexible" -- I think "first
class" relationship is a better adjective.

Q. But in terms of who is responsible for what, ownership and,
you know, in charge of policies and things like that, is
there a fairly flexible relationship with that?
A. In relationship with McKey?
