MR. MORRIS: Yes. I think I was -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You have a witness here whom you have tested
over quite a long period of time. We know what his views
are. I will consider all the various publications.
I will consider your witnesses who will express their own
views. Are we really getting much further as to whether
it was accepted medical fact at the time of publication of
this leaflet or whether it was generally accepted by
asking questions of Dr. Arnott? That is what I would like
you to reflect on.

MR. MORRIS: OK. We are very close to the end, you will be
pleased to know.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No, I am not trying to bring your
cross-examination to an end. May I just say this
generally -- I think I have said something before -- part
of the purpose of cross-examination is to test the
witness, but you can reach a stage where you put what you
have to put. The witness has said more than once what his
stand is. Then it has to be left for me to judge on all
the evidence what I accept and do not accept.

MR. MORRIS: Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just sit down and have a bit of a
discussion. (Pause).

MS. STEEL: Sorry, do you think we could go outside and have a
chat or something?

MR. MORRIS: Just to let you know, we are thinking of finishing
here. We just want to know if there are one or two more
things that we want to -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I will go for a little walk along the
corridor and I will come back.

MR. MORRIS: I do not know how long Mr. Rampton will take with
re-examination.

MR. RAMPTON: About five minutes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What I suggest is I will come back at
quarter past 12. In the meantime, what I suggest is that
Dr. Arnott uses that 10 minutes to look through the
Campbell summary and he can begin to flip through this as
well, the WHO matter.

MR. RAMPTON: Yes, my Lord. That is very quickly done; it is
section 3.3.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Are there particular parts you would like to
him to look at?

MR. RAMPTON: I would like him to read pages 62 to 67 which
start at 3.3 at the top of page 62. They are short
pages. I would also like him to have a quick look at the
