Day 277 - 10 Jul 96 - Page 63

"She became involved in the discussion, but was not good
with words and bluntly expressed an extremely radical
viewpoint vis the overthrow of the government and the total
destruction of the present social system."

How far Ms. Steel does that misrepresent your, small
       "p", political standpoint?
       A. As I have said, these are most certainly not my words.
But I may very well have said that I wanted to see a
society without government and without multinationals, and
without all the ensuing exploitation and oppression.

  Q. You want to see a world without capitalism do you not,
       without any profits being made?
       A. I do, because profits can only be made at the expense
of other people or the environment.

  Q. Can we move please to 2nd August 1990? You will find that
on page 162, in the notes of Mr. Bishop.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just pause please? Yes, page 162?

MR. RAMPTON: Page 162, my Lord, 2nd August 1990. I miscounted
the other day, I quite agree, because I counted Gravett
twice. I have got Morris, Gravett, Jeff, Shelley,
presumably John is New Zealand John. Then, lower down the
page, there is you, there is Charlie who is misidentified
as Andrew Clarke, there is Vibes and Mark. It may not
matter, but does the name Vibes ring any bells with you?
       A. It does ring a bell, but I can't say anything more than
       that.

  Q. And that makes nine, plus Mr. Bishop, which is ten.
Because there were no other agents present at this meeting,
       apart from Mr. Bishop.  It is actually at Caledonia Road;
       is it not?
       A. Yes.

  Q. We can see from the first line and that is to be expected
because it is a meeting at the beginning of the month and
not the end. Then if you turn over I do not need to read
any of it out, we have all been through it before, page
163, there is a lot of stuff about McDonald's. There is
some stuff about Mr. Morris and the Trafalgar Square
Defendants Committee then, in the addendum on page 164,
there is some more material about McDonald's; is there not.

MR. MORRIS: I cannot see the stuff that says there is a lot
about McDonald's on the second page, sorry just --

MR. RAMPTON: Then on page 164 there is some more about
McDonald's; is there not? Or maybe it is a clarification,
       I do not know?
       A. Yes.

  Q. You have seen them while we have been sitting in court,
that press release was duly released, was it not? It was
dated 28th August 1990. You are looking at page 164?
       A. I cannot say that that press release was duly released,
I really don't know. He could have been talking about an
