Day 193 - 28 Nov 95 - Page 30

       A. Right, twice a year.

  Q. 1st November 1993, when there was no rise in the minimum
       wage?
       A. There was not?

  Q. Not till January. You got one then of 10 cents.
       A. Yes. So that would have been because of McDonald's had
-- the McDonald's increase, it would have been a regular
       pay increase, right?

  Q. And you got another one on 1st May 1994.
       A. Mmm.

  Q. Another raise of 20 cents; is that right?
       A. Of 20 cents? I do not know. I do not have my file in
front of me. I do not remember.

  Q. Do you really say that McDonald's took it out on you after
       the election?
       A. What do you mean by "took it out"?

  Q. Sorry. That means took revenge on you.
       A. I mean, it was a different place to work, because
Donna Allen -- I do not know what type of assistant manager
she was, whether a first or second -- she had given me an
SOC (station observation checklist), and I believe it was
for counter -- saying that it was poor. But then, that
same day, that franchise was having like a promotion of
McBucks -- like, you do a good job, you get a McBuck -- and
I cannot even remember what you could buy for them or
whether you just put them in a ballot and if your name was
called then you won a prize or something. During the same
shift, I was given a poor SOC, and I was given a McBuck
from Pete Mortson. So, I mean, I did not understand where
they were coming from. One Manager on the exact same shift
thinks that I am doing a very poor job and the other one
thinks I am doing a marvellous job.

  Q. I want you, please, to look at the -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Shall we take the five-minute break there,
       Mr. Rampton?

  MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, yes.

                         (Short Adjournment)

MR. RAMPTON: Just two final things, Miss Inglis. Can you find
the Our Times article, please, and turn to page 20,
underneath a picture of you and your family. Am I right --
again, this is not a criticism of him, or indeed you --
that your father is or was president of the Canadian Auto
       Workers Local?
       A. Yes, he is, but I also have a mother in management.
She is a manager that has to deal with a union. She is the
manager of Emergency in Orangeville Hospital.

  Q. Yes. I am just wondering this, whether you got some of
your enthusiasm for unions from your family background?
