if anyone wants to. For "meals" substitute whatever anyone
       chooses to buy.
       A. Someone's meal might be a hamburger; someone's meal
might be a Big Mac; for some it might be a milkshake,
       something in between.

  Q. Thank you.

MS. STEEL: In the document number 15?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can you describe what these are because I do
not have numbers on mine. I can see from the index.

MS. STEEL: It is the Crew Magazine, September/October 1994.
       A. OK.

  Q. Have you seen this one before?
       A. This looks like, is this the American one?

  Q. I think it is the American one, yes?
       A. I may have, I am not sure.

  Q. On the third page of that -- actually what happens is that
the second page of it joins onto the third page -- and the
title of the article is "Keeping the Happy in Happy Meals"?
       A. OK, I have it.

  Q. On the part that is on the third page that we have got, it
       says:

"For most children a happy meal is a major event. It is
the reason kids love to come to McDonald's every day."

Do you think that also applies to the UK?
       A. I think Happy Meals are an important part, are
important to kids, yes. Whether it is the reason they want
to come to McDonald's singularly, I am not sure. I think
       it is pretty important.

  Q. Then in the paragraph opposite, well just above the kind of
bucket with ghosts on at the bottom, it says:

"McDonald's up coming Happy Meal line up is very exciting
according to Leonard, Manager of Family Marketing but in
some cases they will present operational challenges such as
multiple toys in November, 3 per week, and December, 2 per
week. 'We have taken steps to make it as easy as possible
to execute Happy Meals while satisfying our customers'
Leonard says, 'particularly when we offer more than one toy
       per week'."

Do the UK McDonald's offer more than one toy per week?
       A. Well, it depends. We have never done a Happy Meal
promotion where there were 2 toys in the same week. They
are normally one this week, the second one the second week,
the third the following, and the fourth the following.
There does come a time when there is, what we call a "clean
up period". There may be a few of each toy left. Any or
all of them could be available in the last week, but no, we
