MR. MORRIS: We have nearly finished now. Mr. Nicholson said
that Peter Sutcliffe's father was in the Transport and
General Workers Union and he was asked: "You were told at
the time?" "Yes" was the answer. "By the Manager?"
Answer: "It was by the person who phoned me up". This was
regarding the meeting because of staff being interested in
being represented by a union. "It would be either the
Manager or one of the Assistant Managers". Do you know
anything about that?
A. Like I say, I cannot remember the actual meeting
so .....

Q. No, not the actual meeting, but Peter Sutcliffe's dad being
in the Transport and General Workers Union, was that
something that the Managers knew?
A. Nothing -- I was not aware of it.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It was that he was a TGWU Officer ---

MR. MORRIS: Official, sorry.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: -- was it, rather than just a member of the
union?

MR. MORRIS: Were you aware of that?
A. Not at all.

MR. MORRIS: I will just sit down for a minute.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. (Pause).

MR. MORRIS: Can you get a document out from behind you,
please. I do not know where it is actually.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What was the document?

MR. MORRIS: It is document E; is it behind Lyn Mead's
statement?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, if you get yellow X, please? It is on
the table beside you, Mr. Sexton. If you turn to a divider
with a "7" on it? Then behind that there is a document
which has an "E" either on another divider or in the top
right-hand corner. It is about 10 sheets after her
statement, something like that.
A. There is a Personnel Procedures -----

Q. No, turn on after the Personnel Procedures Evaluation
Report, you then come to some pie charts on a sheet.
A. I have got it, E.

Q. You have E, good.

MR. MORRIS: You have E?
A. Yes.

Q. If you go to the third page in that which may or may not be
numbered ---
A. Yes.
