  Q. Was that the only work that you did for McDonald's?
       A. No. The only thing for the operators in Columbus.
       I also ----

  Q. Sorry, that was specifically for owner/operators?
       A. That is correct. They had retained me. In addition,
I did some work for the Corporation. They had various
meetings that I attended and provided legal advice at those
meetings. That was on behalf of the Corporation.

  Q. Was that in Ohio?
       A. There were meetings in Chicago. I remember a West
Coast meeting at Santa Barbra, California. Oh,
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that was an interesting
situation. There may have been one or two other locations
       around the country.

  Q. Were these concerning Labour Relations disputes with
       employees or with unions?
       A. The only dispute -- all of these were giving advice and
counsel, not as part of any specific labour dispute. The
Philadelphian matter, there was a labour dispute under way
       in Philadelphia.

  Q. That was with unions attempting to organise, was it?
       A. There was an organising attempt by the Hotel and
       Restaurant Workers Union in Philadelphia.

  Q. Was that attempt successful?
       A. From the union's standpoint?

  Q. Yes.
       A. No.

  Q. So you were called into try to prevent the union getting a
       foothold?
       A. I was called in for a very specific purpose, to hold a
meeting with the Mayor of Philadelphia whose name at that
       time was Rizzo.

  Q. Sorry, what was this to do with the Mayor?
       A. He had contacted McDonald's and told McDonald's that he
wanted to speak with someone from McDonald's concerning the
union's attempt to organise a facility at the children's
institute (that was a quasi public facility), and he wished
to speak with someone from McDonald's concerning that.

  Q. So you were representing McDonald's, were you?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. I am not quite sure I understand your answer.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Was that because the Mayor thought that the
city might have something to learn from McDonald's in a
situation where a union was seeking a facility in one of
       its undertakings?
       A. Yes. If I can help to move this along, my Lord, the
Hotel and Restaurant Workers Union was attempting to
solicit our employees, McDonald's employees, for
