       the notes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, thank you.
       A. Right. Yes.

MR. MORRIS: Have you found it?
       A. Yes.

  Q. It says here in the second paragraph, "The door was opened
by Jane, who obviously knew the man quite well. She called
him Dave." Did you ever come into contact with me outside
       of London Greenpeace?
       A. Yes. From about the start of the antipoll tax
campaign, you were involved with the London antipoll tax
federation. I saw you outside involved in poll tax
activities, although I did not know you that well but you
were quite recognisable. Well, obviously at that time.

  Q. What was my position in the London antipoll tax campaign or
       federation?
       A. Well, you were--

MR. RAMPTON: I do not really believe that--

MR. MORRIS: It may help in terms of knowing me well, was I a
       shy and retiring--

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have said before, you do not have to
underline everything. I mean, all you are wanting to do is
explain that if Miss Laporte knew you quite well it need
not be through London Greenpeace antiMcDonald's activities
but through a common interest or distaste for the poll tax.

MR. MORRIS: I was actually thinking at the time--

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That is your point is it not?

MR. MORRIS: I think the previous year I was the secretary of
the London antipoll tax federation, if it is any help to
anybody to know that. It says at the very bottom of that
page, "Dave spoke of his tireless dedication to the
preparation and distribution of leaflets regarding the
antipoll tax movement." Does that ring true to you?
       A. Yes, definitely yes.

MS. STEEL: Moving on to the 2nd August?
       A. Is it back in this file here.

  Q. Yes, it will be.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That is in the other file then is it?
       A. Yes, the lighter blue file.

  Q. Page 166 or 162?

MS. STEEL: Which one goes first? Is it the report, or is it
       his notes or the report?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: The notes are 162 and the report is 166, and
I have tended to use the notes in preference as they are
