Day 272 - 02 Jul 96 - Page 73
Q. If you put them down and take up the pink 1A one again,
please?
A. 1A?

Q. Have you got it open at Hackney & Islington Animal Rights
Group campaign poster?
A. Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Which page is that again?

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, that was the first page in tab 60A, in
pink 1A.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MR. RAMPTON: Now the next page, I hope, Mr. Gravett is an
advert for the, or poster for the London Greenpeace fayre
of 1990, is it?
A. Yes.

Q. And has it got in the top left-hand coroner handwriting
"please display".
A. Yes.

Q. Do you see in the bottom right-hand corner there is a wonky
star with dots, and in the dots, inside the star, in
handwriting "third great year (incorporating the
anti-McDonald's fayre" -- but somebody has forgotten to
close the fayre. Do you see that?
A. Yes. They have also misspelt McDonald's as well.

Q. Yes they have, in two places, but never mind?
A. Yes.

Q. How come that on that document do you know, Mr. Gravett, if
the anti-McDonald's campaign was dead on its feet?
A. Well, I do not think I ever used the expression "dead
on its feet".

Q. You would not, no?
A. It was used, I think, because we wanted to attract
people back that had been to the previous two years fayres
and knew it as the anti-McDonald's fayre as well attracting
new people, but, you know. That is the only way I can
explain it. I cannot remember the detailed discussions
that went on at the time. I think that is what lay behind
it.

Q. Keep your mental finger in tab 68. I am coming back to
that, but I would like you to turn on, just briefly, to tab
71?
A. Yes.

Q. Which advertised October 16th world food day; worldwide
protests against McDonald's?
A. Yes.

Q. Do you remember the minifayre at Finsbury Park on the 16th
June, 1990?
A. I do, yes.
