Day 260 - 11 Jun 96 - Page 32
the public meetings held at Endsleigh Street. The next on
June 28th 1990 has been organised by Jonathan and has
conservation as its theme."

Is that something you remember as being fairly typical,
that public meetings were organised by individuals to kind
of particular -----
A. Yes, that was typical, yes.

Q. A theme that they were particularly interested in?
A. Yes.

Q. Then it says in that paragraph, in the middle of the
paragraph: "There was also an introduction by Paul Gravett
of the format of the London Greenpeace fair due to take
place on 22nd October. This is the group's annual event."
A. Yes.

Q. That is correct, that took place, that introduction?
A. The introduction took place, yes.

Q. By Paul Gravett?
A. Yes.

Q. But it appeared that he was particularly involved with
organising that fair, not necessarily from that one thing
there, but over the course of the time you attended the
meetings?
A. He appeared to have knowledge of what was going to
happen at the fair, yes. Whether he organised it himself
or in conjunction with others, I was unable to say.

Q. The very last line, about: "A call was received from Dave
Morris?" -- again, whether or not it was me; but then it
says: "Neither of the calls seemed to be particularly
interesting." So there was not much notice taken of the
call, in any event?
A. Well, the half of the conversation that I heard
obviously was not very interesting, and it did not provoke
a discussion about the call.

Q. So it was not me barking instructions down the line so that
everybody stood to attention?
A. I am unable to say, because I did not hear your side of
the conversation.

Q. They did not seem to stand to attention?
A. I did not see anyone standing to attention at any of
the meetings.

MS. STEEL: If you go over to page 3 of these notes ---
A. Yes.

Q. -- you say: "Within the group, I have often observed this
assumption, that someone can do something for no reason
other than it is there. It seems to be assumed by an
individual that if one is interested in a subject then
everybody else is."

Can you just explain what is meant by what is there?
