Day 267 - 21 Jun 96 - Page 25

       A. No, I did distinguish. Members of the group were
members of both groups, but I was particularly looking for
       McDonald's activities, or antiMcDonald's activities.

  Q. Right. So when you focused on some antiMcDonald's matter
you were not aware it was related to Hackney and Islington
Animal Rights and was being reported at the group or
whether it was something that London Greenpeace itself was
       responsible for?
       A. I do not recall at this time. May be it was not made
known to me at this time. I do not recall.

MS. STEEL: On this page you have got "The next open meeting was
discussed. These are held at 6 Endsleigh Street WC1. A
topic had to be picked", and later on you have got, "25th
of the first of 90, McDonald's campaign meeting."
That is exactly the same meeting. The meeting was actually
about the future of the group, was it not?
       A. I do not recall.

  Q. And McDonald's?
       A. Does it say in my notes?

  Q. And McDonald's might have been a part of something that was
to come up, but it certainly was not a McDonald's campaign
       meeting?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well, you had better take him to his notes of
it, had you not, if you want to get anywhere on this?

MS. STEEL: He did not go to it. I am just doing it on the
basis of the fact that a topic had to be picked.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well, do you know what happened to the
       meeting?
       A. I do not recall what happened unless I make reference
to it in my notes, but I do not recall attending that
       meeting.

MR. MORRIS: If someone, for example, said the antiMcDonald's
fair was to be discussed at that meeting you would have
taken that to mean, would you, that it was a McDonald's
       campaign meeting?
       A. Well, no, not necessarily. I do not recall how I
       would have taken it.

  Q. You might have taken it though?
       A. Taken it as?

  Q. Well, if somebody said, "We are having a meeting on the
future of the group, we need to discuss the antiMcDonald's
fair" you might have taken that as, "Right, this meeting is
going to be a campaign meeting about McDonald's"; yes?
       A. I probably would have done. The campaign was quite
       prominent within the group.

  Q. Well, Mr. Gravett was at this meeting. You have got him --
well, you have not got his name, actually, on the page but
you say, "one of them in the photos involved in London
Greenpeace, animal lib, Hackney and Islington group, leader
