Day 267 - 21 Jun 96 - Page 15

about leaflets being on the table. Did you ever put
       leaflets on the table?
       A. Not that I recall, no, sir.

  Q. Did you ever see how they got there?
       A. I believe -- I cannot recall.

  Q. You cannot remember?
       A. I cannot remember.

  Q. So, you do not actually know that they were brought from
Caledonian Road? You were just kind of presuming that?
       A. I recall that the habit was for somebody to either pop
into the 5 Caledonian Road address prior to the Endsleigh
Street meeting and collect some, or that a member of the
group would have some with them, or that a member of the
group would be working at the Caledonian Road address and
then come along to the meeting afterwards. It could be
       any.

  Q. Right. You never actually saw anyone going to Caledonian
Road, taking a load of leaflets and followed them all the
way to the meeting and saw them put them on the table?
       A. I cannot remember.

  Q. You, presumably, would have made a note of that if you had
       seen it?
       A. Not necessarily, no.

  Q. You would not have?
       A. Not necessarily.

  Q. Would you agree that anybody who came to the meeting could
actually put leaflets on the table if they wanted to?
       A. Yes, I think they probably could.

  Q. Including people who were not regulars with the group?
       A. I do not know. Yes, I imagine they may have done.

  Q. Right. Would you agree that when a subject was brought up
at a meeting, at a London Greenpeace meeting, if there were
new people there, for example, or anybody who had not been
there for any length of time, then, generally speaking,
somebody would give a bit of background to the particular
       campaign that was being discussed?
       A. At a Caledonian Road meeting or an Endsleigh Street
       meeting?

  Q. Well, either?
       A. I do not recall.

  Q. You do not remember?
       A. I do not remember.

  Q. Did it often seem that, for example, at Caledonian Road,
when an item was up for discussion on the agenda, as
opposed to a letter that had been written or something like
that, that people seemed to be like they were going over
       old ground?
       A. Sorry?
