MR. MORRIS: On the subject of the links that you reported
between diet and cancer, breast cancer and colon cancer
specifically -- sorry, it has been a long day.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just sit down for a moment. You do not have
to launch straight into your examination because of the
time. I anticipate that there may not be much. It would
be better for you to get it all in your mind.

MR. MORRIS: Are you aware of the authorities, say, the World
Health Organisation, are you aware of them as an
       organisation?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Are you aware of their concern about breast and colon
       cancer?
       A. Absolutely, yes.

  Q. Are you aware they have implicated diets?
       A. I am aware of that.

  Q. Are you aware they have said that it is known that dietary
factors influence the development of cancers?
       A. Yes, they have said that.

  Q. Especially cancers of the breast and bowel; you are aware
       of that?
       A. Yes.

  Q. When I say that, that is because you have seen the World
Health Organisation report, is that correct? Diet
       Nutrition and ----
       A. That is correct.

  Q. When the Willett study came down strongly on the side of
showing the links between dietary fat and colon cancer,
was one -- why did you focus on that particular study as
opposed to maybe hundreds of other studies?
       A. Can you refer me to the page in my book?

  Q. It is on page 124. I am trying not to ask you leading
questions, but on re-examination are you allowed to ask
       leading questions?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No, not really.
