or, perhaps, from the McLibel support campaign, because the
McLibel support campaign's only possible source for the
transcript is the Defendants.

If they succeeded in doing that and they also undertook to
keep the transcripts to themselves and they convinced us of
both of those propositions, why, then, of course, we would
reconsider the position.

MR. MORRIS: We will come back in the morning but I do not see
why the Plaintiffs are so concerned to prevent the public
hearing some of the evidence in the case. Surely, that is
the whole point of fighting the case in the first place.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have told you, I am just not prepared to
give any indication of view of what is an argument between
you on the one side and McDonald's on the other. I do not
think it is appropriate that I should express a view one
way or the other.

If you say that I have a power to direct McDonald's to do
something with the transcript, then you must tell me what
the power is. If you say that there is some kind of fund
which can provide the transcript for you, you must direct
me towards that. Quite apart from any matters such as
that, I do genuinely want you to tell me what your view is
if you do not get it as to whether I should have it. Do
you understand? 10.30.

I would like to hand Mrs. Brinley-Codd's copy of the
counterclaim pleadings and my own so that you can see what
I have and have not got.
