Day 277 - 10 Jul 96 - Page 55
Is that part of the Steel make up?
A. If it had been something obnoxious or offensive or
something like that, then I probably would have said
something, but when I read the fact sheet it seemed to be
all stuff that I had heard before, so I would not have any
reason to say anything about it.

Q. This impression you have been trying to give, we have all
seen how you have reacted to the progress of this trial at
various times and I am certainly not going to rehearse that
in open court now--

MR. MORRIS: If Mr. Rampton is giving evidence about that then I
think he should ask specific questions about it because I
could give evidence about that, about the incredible
patience he has shown over the last five years.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You are not giving evidence either.
A. Well, Mr. Rampton, as far as I am concerned sitting
throughout this trial has taken a great deal of patience
bearing in mind the obnoxious comments that you have made
throughout it, the provocative remarks and the grunts and
snorts and the rude remarks, and what have you. I think,
in fact, both of us have been extremely patient.

Q. And that is why you turned the air blue, was it, when you
lost your transcripts appeal in the Court of Appeal?
A. Turned the air blue?

Q. 'F' words and 'C' words by the string?
A. That is rubbish.

Q. That is not true?
A. No, that is not true.

Q. Do you remember attending a summons before the late Master
Grant on 22nd May 1991 before this trial ever began?
A. I remember a summons in front of Master Grant. I
cannot say--

Q. Do you remember that you were ordered to give particulars
of your rain forest case within 7 days or else you would be
struck out; do you remember that?
A. No.

Q. You do not remember that?
A. No. I am not saying it did not happen, I am just
saying I do not remember it.

Q. Do you remember saying you could not do it because you did
not have any evidence?
A. No, most certainly not. I definitely would not have
said that.

Q. Do you remember that the summons was attended on the
Plaintiff's behalf by Mrs Brinley-Codd?
A. No, I don't remember.

Q. So you don't remember after the summons was over outside
court Mr. Morris shaking his fists in Mrs Brinley-Codd's
