Day 094 - 01 Mar 95 - Page 75

MS. STEEL: Is Mr. Rampton giving evidence?

MR. RAMPTON: No, my Lord. It is in the bundle. It is in the
agreed documents. That is why I so often object to
       selective treatment of the documents.

MR. MORRIS: If Mr. Rampton wants to make a comment -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do not bother. I will wait and see what
evidence we get to that effect.

MR. RAMPTON: I will come back to in re-examination anyway. My
Lord, I would like to hand in some documents, if I may?
The first is merely an addition to your Lordship's
correspondence file. The next one, my Lord, arises out of
evidence of Mr. Atherton. It concerned the question which
was not clear from Mr. Wignall's statement whether there
       were two -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Excuse me a moment. Do go and sit down,
       Dr. Gomez.

                       (The witness withdrew)

MR. RAMPTON: It concerns the question whether there were two
increases in cooking temperatures after Preston. That is a
memorandum relating to that question. Most of these
documents come from Mr. Kenny who is due to give evidence,
I think, next week. The next one, my Lord ------

MR. MORRIS: Can we be given them?

MR. RAMPTON: Yes, yes, you will get them.

MR. MORRIS: It would be good to have them while you are going
       through.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think probably if you just summarise what
they are and then give my lot to Mr. Riley and ------

MR. RAMPTON: I will start again. The first one is a memorandum
relating to an increase in cooking time for the quarter
pounder only, not the 10-1, in 1993. That is on the second
page of that memorandum. The next document was ------

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Mr. Rampton, I suggest you keep going. If
Mr. Morris, when I rise, has not sufficient copies, he can
take it up with Mr. Hill.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, the next document is the cousin of a
document which is already behind tab 1A of pink VIII which
was a United States, as it were, McDonald's audit form for
visits to suppliers. This is one from 1991. That is a
pro forma. The next one is the McDonald's microbiological
specification for chicken McNuggets from 1990. The next
one, I am not sure at the moment where this goes -- I do
not know if your Lordship has a separate Jarret file -- my
Lord, these are Ms. Hovey's time sheets supplied by her
employers who are not, of course, Jarret.
