Day 062 - 06 Dec 94 - Page 53

start of the year you will make an estimate for what you
sell in the year. At the end of he year you look back and
say, "OK, I have sold this", if you do not have the data
that has been sold simply because you have not dealt with
them, then we try to get the next best thing. I know this
year it has been done differently or for 93 it has been
       differently.

  Q. But you would have got ----
       A. I have got sales approximates.

  Q. You would have the figures for 1992, would you not, if this
was not prepared until -- when was this report prepared?
       It says "March 93".
       A. February/March -- it was prepared in February 1993 and
       published in March.

  Q. So did you not have the sales figures for 1992?
       A. No, because they did not go through us. Those were a
few items that we were not responsible for.

  Q. Yes, but I mean did you not have ----
       A. So we did not have the sales, the actual sales data,
       therefore we used an estimate.

  Q. The chart on page 7.5?
       A. Yes.

  Q. For 1992 you said somewhere else that 80 per cent of all
uncoated paper and board used was recycled material?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Does that mean that in the 1992 ----
       A. It would mean that of the black part in that graph,
which is uncoated paper and board, 80 per cent of that
       would have been recycled fibre.

  Q. Just the black part?
       A. Just the black part.

  Q. Not the striking part above it?
       A. No.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: We will take our five minutes break now.

                      (Short Adjournment).

MS. STEEL: On page 7.6, the very last paragraph, you said:
"Some of the increase is due to the increasing number of
items being handled by Perseco in Europe and, thus,
included in this study and no longer going directly from
the supplier into the DCs." Which items are now handled
by Perseco that were not when you joined the company?
       A. Those are generally items that went from a local
supplier or from a supplier in a country directly to that
country themselves, i.e. Polar cup Finland into
(inaudible), Polar cup Spain into Spain, say Italy into
Italy. Now by that time that was not a big amount of
number, amount of items any more. By 1992, as reported
before, we had still a few items going into DCSA and McInco
