RK, the next one is Severson. The next one after that is
Oishi. I have neither of those. They are prostatic
cancer so they may not be desperately important. Mills
also, three below Oishi, I have not got. I think that is
all I am missing on cancer.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Thank you very much. We will resume at five
       past two.

                         (Short adjournment)

                                                    2.00 p.m.

MR. MORRIS: On page 13 of your statement we move on to
diabetes. Could you outline the dietary implications for
       diabetes?
       A. Yes. I presume that the court is already aware that
there are two types of diabetes and that we are primarily
concerned with the adult onset form.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.
       A. So I will confine my comments.

MR. MORRIS: Is there any dietary implications for the other?
       A. Yes, there has been a substantial body of research
looking at, particularly, milk products, dairy products,
       and insulin-dependent or type -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Did you hear Mr. Morris's question?
       A. I am sorry, apparently I did not.

MR. MORRIS: For the first type of diabetes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: For the early onset.
       A. Oh, yes.

  Q. There are dietary implications?
       A. Yes.

MR. MORRIS: We are concentrating on the non insulin-dependent
diabetes in this case; are there any dietary implications
for type 1, I believe it is called?
       A. Yes. There is a considerable body of research on the
link between dairy products and type 1 or
insulin-dependent diabetes. Does that respond to your
       question?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It does but it is complete news to me
because, unless I have missed something, it has not been
       raised so far, you see.

MS. STEEL: It has not been raised, but it is actually
mentioned in the statement of Professor Keen as well but
       only in passing.

MR. MORRIS: Do you want to identify what the dietary.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just pause a moment.

MR. MORRIS: I think Professor Keen referred to it on the first
