Day 268 - 24 Jun 96 - Page 29

  MR. MORRIS: Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just let me make a note. He also has his
industrial tribunal originating application in pink 15,
       divider 100.

  MR. MORRIS: Right.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: So what I suggest you do is read now in, any
event, read pale blue 2A2 and when you have read that,
thereby reminding yourself of what is in it, I will give
you a minute or so to look at pink 15 and decide what, if
anything, you want to read of that.

MR. MORRIS: Right. I think that what the Plaintiff's witnesses
are dealing with is, the two witnesses which Mr. Rampton
mentioned earlier on, deal with the tribunal matter rather
       than evidence.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I will look at those if they are, in fact, to
be read, but I suggest you read the main statement first,
       26th July.

MR. MORRIS: I will read that first. It makes sense to read----

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: 33.

MR. MORRIS: There should be a four page statement.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MR. MORRIS: And then there should be a page of notes, of
handwritten notes, of where he works and I will read that
first, which would make sense really. 27th July 93,
additional notes for reference. "I began working with
McDonald's on the 16th November 1987 and resigned from the
company in mid-July 1991. My total period of employment
with McDonald's was 3 years and 8 months. During this
period I worked in the following stores. 1. Lord Street
       Liverpool. 2. Ranleigh Street, Liverpool.
       3.  Birkenhead.  4.  Wallasey.  5.  Edge Lane, Liverpool;
       drive-thru. 6. Penn Road, Wolverhampton; drive-thru. 7.
       Park Road, Walsall."

Then he says: "Relief manager," presumably at the following
       three stores. "1. Blackpool 2. Merryhill Centre-Brierley
Hill. 3. Dudley Street, Wolverhampton. Yours sincerely,
by Bhanulal Patel," with his signature.

Then reading the 26th July statement.
"Dear Mr. Morris, further to your recent letter, here are
the details in answer to your questions regarding
McDonald's Restaurants Limited. Because I resigned from
the above company over two years ago although it is
possible for me to remember incidents, I am afraid that I
cannot remember dates or names. I hope, however, that the
information I can give you is still of some use.
