Day 135 - 15 Jun 95 - Page 07

  Q. Do you remember a crew member called, I think it is, Andrew
       Wilson?
       A. Yes, I vaguely remember him.

  Q. Do you remember anything about him?
       A. I remember him not being a particularly good crew
       member.

  Q. The last thing I think I need to ask you about, Mr. Sexton,
is this: Do you remember anything at East Ham -- we were
told by Mr. Sutcliffe that it was the summer of 1987; that
may or may not be correct -- to do with mouse droppings in
       the buns?
       A. The restaurant did have a problem at one stage with
mice. It was caused by a local building or local building
       work being completed.

  Q. A local?
       A. Local building work.

  Q. What, going on next door or something?
       A. Yes, well, there was road works, if I remember
       correctly.

  Q. I see. That seemed to release mice into the environment,
       as it were?
       A. Yes.

  Q. How did this problem manifest itself in the restaurant?
       A. There was a number of mice caught within the
       restaurant.

  Q. Mice caught?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Who caught them?
       A. Rentokil.

  Q. Who called Rentokil?
       A. It could be myself or another Manager.

  Q. When was the problem first noticed, how long before
       Rentokil were called in?
       A. I could not actually say but, I mean, obviously as soon
as the first incident would be noticed, then Rentokil would
       have been called.

  Q. Mr. Sutcliffe alleges in his statement, as I expect you
noticed, that there were mouse droppings often found in the
bun trays. Do you have a comment about that?
       A. I would not say they were often found but, obviously,
any trays like that, the whole tray would be discarded.

  Q. The whole tray?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Mr. Sutcliffe says that you would only throw an individual
bun that had a dropping on it away?
       A. No, it would be the tray.
