Day 169 - 04 Oct 95 - Page 43

       A. -- no, it is just something that would happen as and
when you went into different stores.

  Q. Do you remember any specific conversation you had with a
customer about any specific matter in that store at that
       time?
       A. I vaguely recall when I was doing some service times in
the store, and it happened in the West Ealing where a
customer came to me and said, asked me what I was doing and
I explained to them, and they said: "They are doing a fine
job on their own; they do not need you to keep a check on
       them".

  Q. So you said that was happening in a few stores?
       A. Yes.

  Q. So that would have been from one of your stores at that
       time?
       A. Well, that actually happened in West Ealing. It also
       happened in Hemel Hempstead.

  Q. The customers at both said exactly the same thing?
       A. Well, not exactly the same wording. The customer in
Hemel Hempstead had a longer conversation in relation to
the store, how good the atmosphere in the store was, the
Manager, how well they took care of them, etc, etc. She --
in actual fact, the one in Hemel Hempstead was a female and
she commented in relation to the fact that the customer --
that the Manager always gave her coffee top ups and so on
       in the mornings.

  Q. How long were you Senior Supervisor for that covered the
       West Ealing store?
       A. Roughly six years.

  Q. Six years. You said regarding rap sessions: "Cranna is
probably accurate in saying that there was only one rap
session while he was at West Ealing. These sessions are in
fact only meant to be held every six months"?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Unless there are follow up sessions?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Do you actually recall any specific rap session in that
       store at that time?
       A. Well, all my stores had a rap session on approximately
a six month basis, yes, so that West Ealing would have had
a rap session approximately every six months. It did not
have any frequent follow ups because it was not seen as
       being a problem store.

  Q. But you do not know for a fact how many rap sessions were
held during that time? You are just assuming that it would
be once every six months as standard practice?
       A. I do not know how many was held whilst Cranna I was
there. I said that he was probably right in one, from the
point that they would be done on a six monthly basis.
There may have been two depending on when the rap sessions
would have been done. I do not know exactly what dates
