MR. JUSTICE BELL: "Sausage is a patty". Yes, thank you.

MS. STEEL: Just to clarify one thing, some of McDonald's --
I do not know whether it is bacon products, I think -- come
from Roach Foods. Do they go through McKey's or is that
separate?
A. No, that is separate.

Q. So those figures would not include that bacon?
A. No.

Q. You have taken on, is it, four new suppliers in the last
year or is it five new?
A. No, four new.

Q. Four new ones?
A. Yes.

Q. How are the pigs kept at those suppliers?
A. The pigs are not kept at those suppliers. Dalehead do
not keep pigs. Buckham, I am not sure whether Buckham keep
any pigs.

Q. So are all four are just -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can I understand, the suppliers are what, are
they actually farms or are they abattoirs?
A. Abattoirs, sir.

Q. Because I think you are being asked about the farms the
pigs came from.
A. Yes, I think the question is revolving around Bowes.
Bowes is vertically integrated. He has farms, killing and
cutting. The other suppliers are very similar to an
abattoir situation, my Lord. They are abattoirs and
cutting rooms, and pigs come in from farms.

Q. Let me make sure I have it straight. Put Bowes on one side
for a moment. The four new suppliers are abattoirs?
A. Abattoirs and boning -----

Q. Rather than complete operations?
A. Correct, sir.

MS. STEEL: Is that Dalehead in Bristol?
A. No -- oh, well, near Bristol. Do you mean Westerly?

Q. Yes.
A. Yes, yes.

Q. So you are just getting them direct from the abattoirs, and
do the abattoirs get them direct from farms or do they get
them through markets and auctions?
A. In the pig industry most of them come direct from
farms. There are very few pigs in the pig industry these
days going through markets.

Q. Did you go down to the abattoirs to then take the chain
back a stage further and find out what the farms, you know,
