Day 161 - 24 Jul 95 - Page 42
A. Yes.

Q. He refers to young people. Do you think that that
particularly applies to young people?
A. It applies to everyone who wants to be part of a team.
I was not particularly young when I joined McDonald's.

MR. MORRIS: Thank you. Carry on.

(Video film continued to be played)

MISS STEEL: At the end, there was -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Are you going to show any more of the film?

MISS STEEL: Just in case, I want to ask this one question.
(To the witness) At the end, there was a man saying: "Is
this your break? Did you ask anyone for this? What did
I ask you? Did you ask anyone for that? You do not know
what I am saying. Did you ask anyone for a drink? It does
not belong to you until someone says you can have it. You
had better be sorry." Then he goes on to talk about
tidying up.

In the transcript of the video, it says that is someone
called Ramesh. Was that at the Strand store?
A. It was.

Q. Would there have been anything unusual in what he was
saying there? Would that surprise you ---
A. No.

Q. -- in all of what he said at that point?
A. No.

Q. It would be perfectly normal?
A. Yes.

MS. STEEL: Right, OK.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Would you like to go back?

(The witness returned to the witness box)

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just pause a moment. At the beginning, or
near the beginning, it spoke of 21,000 buns a day, which
I see is 3,000 -- 21,000 a week, which would be 3,000 a
day; and it spoke of 60,000 patties, which I thought was,
again, the week. How does that arithmetic work out?
A. The Big Mac has got two meats in each of them; on each
Big Mac, you have two patties. So if you we sell 1,000
Big Macs, that will be 2,000.

Q. I follow that. But we have still got three patties a bun,
if I understood it correctly?
A. I am sorry, I cannot answer it.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Anyway, there we are; there is no obvious
explanation for that. Very well.
