Day 272 - 02 Jul 96 - Page 29

London Greenpeace. There may have been other groups there
like Veggies who had some anti-McDonald's leaflets and I
think the film Jungleburger was shown.

  Q. But you cannot remember, was there any discussion or
       organised --
       A. No.

  Q. Was there anything organised about McDonald's?
       A. To best of my memory, I cannot remember there being
that, no, although I did not play as big a part in
organising it obviously as I had done previously.

  Q. Okay. If we move on to 26th April please, the notes of
Jack Russell, if I can find mine.
       A. Yes.

  Q. Now, sorry, just hold on one second because I am checking
something. If you cast your eye over those, there seem to
be a lot of letters read out?
       A. Yes.

  Q. There does not seem to be any, although this was at
Endsleigh Street, does there seem to be any -- was this
       actually a public meeting?
       A. Well, to the best of my knowledge there were not
speakers invited, so I guess it was not. I mean, public
meetings were organised when up to two people in the group
decided to take it upon themselves, invite speakers,
publicize them or show videos or do something like that,
and it looks like for this month no one had taken it upon
themselves to do that. We had the room booked regularly
for the last Thursday of every month at Endsleigh Street,
so we just went there and did there what we would have done
       back in the office usually.

  Q. Right. If you look on the second page, there is something
that I want to ask you about.
       A. Yes.

  Q. Under "reports", the last sentence says:

"Jonathan confined his report to a recent holiday in New
Zealand which he had spent with like-minded members of the
       Anarcho punk movement."

Have you got any comments on that?
       A. I would not have described Jonathan as an Anarcho
punk. I think Anarcho pacifist would be more accurate.

  Q. And then under international mail out.
       A. Yes.

  Q. You have already said there was not an international mail
out that year. And it says, second sentence:

"This was to be an international mail out. Publicity
would be given to such matters as International
       anti-McDonald's Day etc."
