Day 276 - 09 Jul 96 - Page 47

Because there were a number of meetings where there
was hardly anybody there and some occasions when, as we see
now, the private investigators were making up half of the
       people present.

  Q. Do you think that the fact that I think it was three of the
agents who were presently in the group when the
practicalities of the fayre were being discussed, the
London 1990 fayre, had any effect on whether that fayre
       took place or not?
       A. Well, they were just part of the organisation and,
obviously, without the organisation the fayre does not take
       place.

  Q. So what was the feeling of people round the group we have
seen from the notes, I mean?
       A. As I recollect it there was not enough, there weren't
enough people to do all the things that needed to be done
for the fayre and yes, it is quite possible that without
the infiltrators volunteering to take on particular tasks,
the people who were involved with running the fayre might
have decided that they could not manage it all on their
       own.

  Q. You talked about going into McDonald's stores to check if
the leaflet which they produced attacking, effectively
attacking us, was being displayed. Did you ever check,
regularly check to see if nutritional information leaflets
were being regularly displayed? And, if so, can you give
us an account of what you found?
       A. Yes. Virtually every time I pass a McDonald's actually
I try and go in to see what leaflets are available. And,
in my experience, quite frequently there are none of the
nutritional information leaflets or of the -- well, there
is two leaflets. They have both got green letters covers.
One of them has got a blue band across it and one of them
has got a black band across it.

I think the black band one is the one that has got the
ingredient information and the nutritional, a big
nutritional chart of the nutritional break down of the
food. The blue one I think is more of a kind of blurb
about how great they think their food is, which does have
some nutritional information on the back, I think. Quite
often I have been in there and there have not been one or
other of the two leaflets, and sometimes there has not been
       either of them.

  Q. If you give a rough figure, how many times have you done
that exercise over the last whenever, five years or
whatever? How many times a month or how many times a year
might you have done that exercise?
       A. I don't think I could say, but a considerable number of
       times.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Unless there is something you must ask
tonight, Mr. Morris, is there any particular matter you
       must ask about tonight?

MR. MORRIS: No, that is fine.
