A. No, in the McKey situation, ever since day one, if you
look at the box it has a date time stamp on the box. From
day one, if you tell me the time that that box was made
from records back in the laboratory, I can tell you whose
meat is in there.

Q. Which abattoirs?
A. Which abattoirs, and whose blended in there.
Now then, before traceability you cannot go back before the
abattoir.

Q. Right.
A. Now you can.

Q. So before January this year you would not be able to -- did
you say January this year -- go back?
A. Before traceability, yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you mean this January, January this year?
A. Yes, sir.

Q. 1995?
A. 1995.

yesterday; do you remember that?
A. Yes.

Q. You also mentioned yesterday that in Europe McDonald's have
a Beef Committee?
A. Yes.

Q. Which has set out a document about animal welfare, do you
remember that?
A. Yes.

Q. Is that the same document or is that -----
A. No, that is a different document.

Q. That is a different document.
A. The Beef Committee is just trying to standardise the
forms that are being used throughout Europe, essentially.

Q. So they are drawing up a Europeon-wide animal welfare
policy, are they?
A. No, not just on policy, not animal welfare -- the form
on reporting. For example, that inspection form that we
were looking at, that will go all over Europe now.

Q. But they include animal welfare?
A. Yes.

Q. And hygiene as well?
A. Yes.

Q. Did you say that this document -- I mean, was it in a draft
form when you saw it or is it a final version?
A. A draft.

Q. A draft. As far as you are aware, it is not in operation
