Day 184 - 06 Nov 95 - Page 15

       A. I do not know. I do not follow it closely.

  Q. OK. The performance reviews -- shall we call them "PRs" --
       do you sometimes do PRs?
       A. No, I am not. I do not touch those. The only thing
       I do is SOCs.

  Q. Can you explain what they are?
       A. They are -- well, it is -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What does SOC stand for?
       A. Station observation checklist.

MR. MORRIS: So that is part of the performance review process?
       A. Yes. They take the SOC average.

  Q. So you mark people as to how well they are doing on
particular stations, and that is part of the potential wage
       increase they can get?
       A. Yes. But there are other things as well; it is not
just fully based on the SOCs; it is also based on other
       things.

  Q. Right. When a PR is completed, do you sometimes actually
do that with -- take the staff through the results?
       A. I do not do that, no. I am not in charge of that.
       Assistant Managers are.

  Q. Right. Do you have any input into the scheduling; do
Managers ask your opinion about scheduling?
       A. The only input I have is if somebody tells me that they
would like to learn a new station or that they need more
hours; then I will tell the scheduling Manager; and if
someone calls in sick and I know they are looking for
hours, then I will call them. But that is the only thing
I have to do with scheduling.

  Q. Managers do not ask your opinion about scheduling, then?
       A. Patty is in charge of that.

  Q. Who?
       A. Patty Dickens. She is in charge of that. She is the
scheduling manager, so she is -----

  Q. She just gets on with it?
       A. Yes.

  Q. You do not have any input into who gets scheduled when?
       A. Oh no, not that.

  Q. Right. Do you have a Crew Handbook?
       A. I just received one. Actually, I am sorry, before
I answer that question, can you just classify what you mean
       by "Crew Handbook"?

  Q. I do not know. We have seen in America and in the UK and
other countries, in fact, a fairly standard Crew
       Handbook ---
       A. So -----
