Day 207 - 23 Jan 96 - Page 56
that?
A. No.

MS. STEEL: Incidentally, on the same page under "Security" it
says: "Bomb scare. Store was not shut because we would
have lost money." Is that true?
A. I have known a number of bomb scares in a region of,
say, ten over a period, and on those occasions the
restaurant was shut.

Q. So, do you remember an occasion when it was not shut?
A. No.

Q. You do not?
A. No.

Q. On page 213 in the "Health and Safety" section of the rap
session of 27th July 1993, it says: "How do Managers
respond when accidents occur?"; and it says: "Quickly if
really serious, but not concerned about cuts." Would you
accept that?
A. No, I would not accept that. I would say that if a
crew member had a slight burn or any accident, I would
advise them, and I have advised them, to either treat it
with water, wash the wound, and then cover it.

Q. What about entering it in the Accident Book?
A. Yes, and to enter it in the Accident Book.

Q. Do you know whether other Managers did that?
A. So far as I am aware, they did. I have not seen them
not do it.

Q. Do you know any reason why any member of crew might say
that, that would be the opinion of people at a rap session,
that the Managers are not concerned about cuts?
A. Well, it is an opinion expressed at the rap session.

Q. Yes. You do not know of any reason why they might say
that?
A. No.

Q. Unless it was true?
A. I have not witnessed it, myself.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: On page 224, where it refers to Mark Logan,
and it is general complimentary, am I to infer that it is a
member of crew who needs another hair cut, or -----
A. It would be, yes. The only people who would actually
go to the rap session are crew members. There are not
Managers, obviously, because no one gets to hear or see
what the crew say. It is a closed meeting.

MS. STEEL: I think there is one on 223 that says the same about
somebody else -- Lee Pontin.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. Are you going to finish this afternoon
with Mr. Henden?

MS. STEEL: I do not think we would finish with enough time to
