Day 238 - 22 Apr 96 - Page 03
have got other indications on that. I will put this behind
Doctor Nation but I will keep it out for the moment.

MR. MORRIS: There were documents disclosed -- sorry, there was
one other document. We are trying to avoid having to refer
to any documents, especially in Portuguese, but there was a
key for the map.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, that is in the original disclosure by the
defence.. There was a file which originally had at the
beginning of it some material from Doctor Carriere and
then, following that, some documents, some of which or most
of which are in Portuguese, but that little map has got a
key running to three pages, two of which show official
indigenous areas, and the last page of which shows
unofficial or unrecognised indigenous areas.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Where is that?

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, I do not know. I had in it a separate
file myself. Inside the plastic cover, it had a list
written out in Mr. Morris' handwriting. I do not know if
your Lordship remembers that. I simply called it
"Defendants' New Rainforest documents".

MR. MORRIS: Sorry, I missed all that last bit.

MR. RAMPTON: It does not matter. Mrs. Brinley-Codd put in it
Kingfisher supplementary 8.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Supplementary?

MR. RAMPTON: 8, my Lord.

MR. MORRIS: It might be very helpful to have that, actually,
because it does explain the map.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I only appear to go to 7 at the moment.

MR. RAMPTON: Perhaps, for the moment, your Lordship could
borrow Mrs. Brinley-Codd's which I do not think is marked
(Same handed).

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. Thank you. I will not mark this, I
will just use it for reference.

MS. STEEL: I do not know whether it is worth saying now that
the witness has transferred some of the names that are on
that list behind the map on to the map itself to make it
easier to go through it and save time. She wants to take
it into the witness box, but if people want copies of it we
could -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think you had better make copies now. Can
they be made on that machine now, and whether or not it
goes in as a document, we can all have a copy so we can see
what Miss Watson is referring to.

MR. MORRIS: While we are waiting, can I say that I have
contacted Mr. Secret. It did turn out there was a third
