Q. We see that for Officials and Managers who are female
McDonald's outscores the national percentage by some 21 per
cent, is it not?
A. I am sorry?

Q. That was a bit of a muddle. Look at females US -----
A. Just to make sure everybody is tracking with us, if we
can? "M" at the top, "US", that refers to the US
government's statistics that I mentioned. It deals with
males. Then underneath that "McD", those are McDonald's,
if you will.

Q. Look at the second block which is "F"?
A. Those are females.

Q. Apparently, according to the government, 36 per cent of
those employed in the United States by companies are
female?
A. That is correct.

Q. Whereas at McDonald's it is 57?
A. 57.

Q. If you look across, sorry, go down a block?
A. Yes, those are totals.

Q. Those are totals?
A. Yes, "T" represents totals.

Q. That is male and female?
A. That is correct.

Q. American companies employ, if you look at the fourth column
or the third column of percentages, about 13.1 per cent of
their workforce from the ethnic minorities?
A. That is correct.

Q. Whereas the figure for McDonald's is 30.6 per cent?
A. That is correct.

Q. This is within the category Officials and Managers. What,
so far as McDonald's are concerned, does that mean?
A. That would be our Manager trainees all the way up to
the CEO.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Could I just ask? In the minority column we
have percentages, but if I add Black, Hispanic,
American/Indian, Asian and Others -- I notice that in that
box anyway all the others are 0 per cent -- I do not come
to the total minority. Sometimes it is within a decimal
point but sometimes there is more than 1 per cent
difference ---
A. That is right.

Q. -- just doing them in my head.

MR. RAMPTON: Your Lordship is absolutely right. The individual
members are greater in total than the figure given under
minorities. That is quite right.
