Day 195 - 04 Dec 95 - Page 38

accident, for a period of eight days you appear to work
       every day?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Would that be correct?
       A. Yes, that would have been.

  Q. Including at Clacton on 12th May?
       A. Yes, that is right.

  Q. Did you sometimes go to other stores then?
       A. I did, yes. I worked at Milton Keynes store and
       Clacton as well, yes.

  Q. On June 2nd, I believe that is the first time, is it,
       maintenance -----
       A. That is right.

  Q. Is that just a coincidence that is the first time it
appears, or did you start doing maintenance around about
       that time?
       A. No, I started maintenance -- I was put in charge of
maintenance of the store about two or three months after
       I started at Colchester.

  Q. So that would be the previous year?
       A. Until I left, yes. So that happens to be allocated --
       to have allocated to maintenance.

  Q. On Friday, 13th June, you have written "maintenance"; you
       have not written any times?
       A. No.

  Q. Any idea what that would indicate?
       A. It could have been any time really, it could have been
       an all night close.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Only put them if they matter.

MR. MORRIS: You may have worked that day but not written the
       time?
       A. That is right, I did not actually.

  Q. I think I have finished on that. I just want to see if
there are any further questions. Just one final question
-- I doubt if it is relevant -- when you first came to
England, do you know when that was?
       A. Yes, on 1st January 1975.

MR. MORRIS: No further questions from us.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, if we could have the diary over the
adjournment? We are not the least bit interested in any
personal details -- I do assure the witness of that --
because what we have got is, your Lordship may think in due
course, pretty useful. It might be interesting to see if
there is anything else that relates to Mr. Alimi's time at
McDonald's in that diary; if there is not, of course, then
       I should not see it.
