Day 263 - 14 Jun 96 - Page 63
A. That may well have been the case and I may, on
reflection, have mistaken the fact that I completed a
report so quickly afterwards as being my contemporaneous
notes which, in fact, I did not complete. I did not
complete notes at the meeting. I went away and did a
report almost immediately afterwards, which is why I later
rescinded that paragraph.

Q. If it was immediately afterwards it would have been
virtually contemporaneous, would it not, or was it the next
day you made your report?
A. Contemporaneous notes are certainly made at the time,
and I did not make such notes. I went away and wrote a
report.

Q. That was the next day?
A. Either ---

Q. This -----
A. -- the same night or the next morning. I would have
thought the same night. It was the custom to produce a
written report as soon as possible after assignments.

Q. You said that you do not remember Jonathan, who you say was
chairing the meeting?
A. I do not recall.

Q. He might have been from New Zealand; yes?
A. I know somebody there was from New Zealand, but
I cannot recollect.

Q. Well, if you look in your paragraph under "introductions",
in your -----

MR. RAMPTON: He has to be referred to a document.

MR. MORRIS: I am sorry -- in the report of Kings Investigation
Bureau.

MR. RAMPTON: Page 112, my Lord.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MR. MORRIS: Sorry. Maybe if you just take that report out and
put it next to you, or something.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. It is in a separate bundle.

MR. MORRIS: It says, in the large paragraph in the middle of
the page:" The chairman Jonathan", et cetera, and then you
said later, three lines down: "A man was present who did
not give his name, although he stated he was from
Kings Cross. He was aged 45 to 50 years and had a slight
Australian or New Zealand accent."

Do you how old Jonathan was or is?
A. No, I do not.

Q. We have seen a picture of him. He is considerably younger
than 45 to 50, so you may have mixed those two people up
