       thing?
       A. It is, yes.

  Q. Then that letter 792, 793, 794, Mr. Cobden says that he has
passed on the letters of complaint to which his letters
refer, to you. Do you remember seeing those letters of
complaint from those three people, Mr. Flash, Mrs. Higson
and Mrs. Robson? We saw them earlier in the file.
       A. There is one I am not 100 per cent sure about.

  Q. Which is which one?
       A. The handwritten one.

  Q. From Mrs. Higson?
       A. From Mrs. Higson.

  Q. 795 is a circular (or appears to be a circular) from
Dr. Taylor to the Royal Avenue Residents, he writing in his
capacity as Chairman of the Royal Hospital Ward Residents
Association in relation to the question of environment/index.html">litter, dated
17th March 1994, inviting members of the Association to put
up money for legal action. Do you see that?
       A. Yes, I do.

  Q. Have you seen this before?
       A. I have, yes.

  Q. May I ask you this: Was any legal action ever taken against
your store in respect of environment/index.html">litter by any of these residents
       or residents association?
       A. No, there was not.

  Q. Please turn then to page 805. The intervening documents are
from a date before your time. Please look at 805, 806, 807
and 808 and 809. Just glance at them. They appear on
their face to come from some kind of log or diary. What is
this document? Where do these pages come from?
       A. We decided to set up a residents' complaint diary.

  Q. Residents complaint diary?
       A. So if we received any -- it was usually telephone calls
from any residents, we could log them and then we could see
if there was a pattern or we could see if we were doing
anything wrong basically so we could act upon these to
ensure we could keep the residents happy.

  Q. Page 805 appears to be in a slightly different category, if
it is accurate of course. Can I ask you whose handwriting
it is on page 805 for 4th February 1994?
       A. It is mine.

  Q. So that is a "Stacey" we see at the end of the entry, is
       it?
       A. I think so. Yes, it is.

  Q. It says: "Mrs. Davies came in very angry, complained of"
       blank "also environment/index.html">litter outside".
       A. Yes.

  Q. Would she have seen you on that occasion when she came in?
