MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, thank you.

MS. STEEL: (To the witness) At this time, how frequent were
performance reviews supposed to be carried out; how
frequent was it?
A. It went for a period of being done every two months to
a period of being done every four months, but I cannot
remember the exact date.

Q. You cannot remember when?
A. It crossed over.

Q. In 1992, it was every two months?
A. If that is the fact, yes.

Q. You do not remember?
A. I cannot remember.

Q. Just to read the last paragraph in that section:
"Frequency of performance reviews is improving, but there
is a huge backlog. Some people have not had a review in
four months. Get multiple PR. Five people present have
had a review in the last two months. Pay rises slow to go
on. Have to keep asking."

Incidentally, there were 15 people at this rap session, so
that was one third of the people there had had them within
the two months.

Do you remember this problem at the time? Do you remember
these complaints -- sorry?
A. I do not. As I say, I would have read the rap
sessions, but I do not remember the complaints, no.

Q. Do you remember the complaints about the pay rises being
slow to go on and having to keep asking about them?
A. No.

Q. You do not remember that? Then, if you turn to page 198;
this is a rap session on 29th June 1992. Bottom of the
page, under "performance reviews": "The crew feel that the
Managers are generally apathetic towards performance
reviews. Many performance reviews are late. One crew
person has just been given three at once. At times you
have to hassle for back pay."

So there were continued complaints?
A. On the rap session you have just stated those facts,
there are nine people present.

Q. Are the nine people present -- I mean, are you making some
comment about that?
A. Well, I am just saying that there are nine people
present.

Q. Is there a certain number of people that you think have to
attend a rap session to take it seriously?
A. No. You would obviously try and get to the rap session
as many people as possible, and there are obviously some
