Day 195 - 04 Dec 95 - Page 61
and three quarters hours from 10.15 in the morning until 4
in the afternoon; is that right?
A. Yes, 10.15 to 4 in the afternoon, that is right.

Q. The next day was off. Wednesday 26th was 11.15 to 6?
A. Yes.

Q. Then there was a close on Thursday 27th?
A. Yes.

Q. And then a close, as we noticed, on Friday 28th?
A. That is right.

Q. In this instance you have scratched out "close" and put in
the actual time of finishing?
A. That is correct.

Q. Why?
A. I just happened to do that. I just happened to get
home and change it. I do not -- I have no idea why I did
that to some of them and not with the rest.

Q. Then Saturday 29th you worked from 10.30 in the morning
until 5 in the evening.
A. Sorry, which day?

Q. I am on Saturday 29th.
A. That is right, 10.30 to 5.

Q. Making a week roughly, very roughly speaking, because we do
not know the time of the closes except where you give them,
a week of about 46 and a half hours?
A. Yes.

Q. Then please turn over to Sunday 30th?
A. Yes.

Q. 3.45 until close which is crossed out and you have put in
the figure 12.50?
A. That is correct.

Q. That is a perfectly reasonable time for a close, is it not,
12.50?
A. No, I would not call that reasonable because every time
I went on the basis of what the Manager, the Shift Manager
told me, and the Shift Manager told me that you get your
break on the basis of an eight-hour shift, and your food
allowance is calculated on the basis of an eight-hour
shift. My eight-hour shift would have been, even if we do
not take into account the 15 minutes that I arrived
earlier, I clocked in at 4 o'clock and I should have been
entitled to a longer break and more food allowance, but
I did not for the 15 minutes extra I worked. So I would
not really call that a reasonable closing time.

Q. It is not 3 or 4 in the morning, is it?
A. No, that is not 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning. No.

Q. Am I not right that when you did what you regarded as a
particularly long or late close, you always wrote in the
