Day 205 - 17 Jan 96 - Page 43

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is in one of the last half dozen or so
paper Weekly Law Reports, paperback Weekly Law Reports, for
       last year.

MR. RAMPTON: I think the name of the other party had an Arabic
       sort of ring to it.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Abu Sali.

MR. RAMPTON: Something like that, yes.

MR. MORRIS: I am acting under what I have learned in this case
as we have been going along and, therefore, obviously
seeking -- well, I have put a Civil Evidence Act notice on
those quotes and am happy to discuss that on Monday. That
is the statements. I believe we have dealt with all of
       those.

Eric Millstone, I just happen to note in Eric Millstone
that I have given everyone a copy of ones I have got
handwritten notes all over. I do not mind. So, people
should just bear that in mind, they are my markings rather
than Dr. Millstone's. The important thing is it is
absolutely clear what he is saying as an expert on the
       subject.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Let us leave McDonald's service of a large
number of new witnesses for a moment.

  MR. MORRIS: Right.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: The next one which you have not dealt with or
       expressly put over is 7.

  MR. MORRIS: 7, yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: The banning of Furazolidone and the banning
in Denmark of Avo Parcin. What is the position there?

MR. MORRIS: You should have a document which says "Amended
pleadings application" -- it is one of those documents in
that series; I am very sorry I have not numbered them all
-- which is pleading of those matters, those two matters.
A handwritten document dated today. There should be a
document behind it which is an extract from the July 1995
Medicines Act Veterinary Information Service, MAVIS.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You are asking leave to amend, do you put
       this under "food poisoning"?

MR. MORRIS: Yes, it is basically about residues.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I appreciate that, but you put it under "food
       poisoning", do you?

  MR. MORRIS: Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can you deal with that, Mr. Rampton?
