education as you conduct the case, your own experts, that
       is.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, I would only say this -- with respect,
I believe it is an excellent idea that the Defendants
should now ask Mr. North questions which, perhaps, they
should have asked him long ago, but there it is -- if he is
going to expand on his existing evidence, then in fairness
I ought to have advance notice of it.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Try to do that but we will leave it there for
the moment. You do not have to accept what Mr. Bennett has
       said.

MR. MORRIS: No, we do not necessarily accept it at all.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think, if I may say so, I suspect you are
working under the handicap that you do not actually know at
the moment what Mr. North may say about this -- I will not
ask you -- it is none of my business, but if that is the
situation, I think it would be a good idea to find out,
       that is all.

MR. MORRIS: We are just seeing what we have left.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: How much longer do you think?

MR. MORRIS: We think we may be able to finish today. We are
       just trying to -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Would it be a help or a hindrance to that if
I rose for something like 10 minutes so you could get
yourself organised to continue? If rising for 10 minutes
makes a difference about not finishing, I will not do; If,
in fact, it will help you to get organised, I will.

MR. MORRIS: It may be helpful, maybe 10 minutes, yes.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, would your Lordship say I can have five
or 10 minutes at the end? I do not want Mr. Bennett to
       have to come back tomorrow.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What I will do, again I will sit on for as
long as is necessary tonight, subject to someone being very
       inconvenienced.

MR. RAMPTON: I know, my Lord, but I am always conscious that
the Defendants -- this is not a criticism but it is a fact,
an historical fact -- bat out time -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I do not think they are doing that. The
reason I have offered this is -----

MR. RAMPTON: I am only saying this, I am only conscious that
sometimes I have felt that in order to get a witness away
-- it might be a Defendant's witness and it might be a
Plaintiff's witness -- I am a bit constrained with my
re-examination sometimes. There are two or three matters
of technical information which, it is my belief, as matters
presently stands, your Lordship might actually benefit from
