Day 010 - 11 Jul 94 - Page 36
1 MR. JUSTICE BELL: Of what?
2 MR. MORRIS: Of number 5, Polystyrene Fact Sheet. Pages 7, 8
and ten of that package; it might help to put them in the
3 right order but at the moment 7, 8 and ten are documents
produced by the food packaging -- sorry, the Polystyrene
4 Packaging Council entitled "Polystyrene Food Service
Packaging: A Health Profile" and on page 7 which is --
5 sorry page 8, Mr. Lipsett quoted two paragraphs.
6 MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have a bundle like that. You keep saying
-- is that what you are looking at?
7
MR. MORRIS: Yes.
8
MR. JUSTICE BELL: You keep saying page 8. What do you mean by
9 page 8?
10 MR. MORRIS: I am just counting in the pages.
11 MR. RAMPTON: You need to start on page 7 in the right-hand
column so as to get it into context.
12
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Page 8 starts with "60,000".
13
MR. MORRIS: That is the one. Mr. Lipsett read out the two
14 paragraphs starting "The More Important Questions".
15 MR. JUSTICE BELL: I will read those again. Someone has put
faint stars against it. Let me just read those two again.
16
MR. MORRIS: I thank the court for being so patient. That is
17 for the Polystyrene Packaging Council.
18 MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.
19 MR. MORRIS: If we put that document back. Now just finally on
that subject we did not actually formally refer to the
20 document, the Broad Scan Analysis: Human Adipose Tissue
Survey, which is, believe it or not, No. 8 in that
21 bundle. This survey was done by the Environmental
Protection Agency, was it not?
22 A. That is correct.
23 Q. That is a statutory federal body, yes?
A. That is correct.
24
Q. Are there any major points you want to refer the court to
25 in that survey?
A. I would note Mr. Baggett makes reference to this
26 document. I would add that on page 3 under the heading
"Volatile Organic Compounds" ----
27
Q. Is that small 3?
28 A. No, it is not.
29 MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is B.
30 MR. MORRIS: Sorry.
