probably the most prevalent arrangement, where we pay the
movie studio for the rights to use those characters or
       icons of the film.

  Q. Mr. Green, I have only two other things that I want to ask
you. I am afraid they are somewhat ancient history. Can
I get rid one of them first of all? I do not know whether
you remember that back in 1986 for the first time, I think,
nutritional leaflets of a general character appeared in
McDonald's restaurants throughout the United States. Do
       you remember that?
       A. I think it was about that time, yes.

  Q. Do you also remember that there was something of a dispute
between certain of the Attorneys General, State Attorneys
General, in the United States including, in particular, the
Attorney General of Texas, about who deserved credit for
that event? Do you remember anything about that?
       A. I remember that there was a dispute, I do not remember
the specifics, or was I involved in the dispute?

  Q. That is what I was going to ask. Were you involved in that
       in any way at all?
       A. No, not at all.

  Q. That leaves, as I thought, only the two things you may have
some knowledge of. You have probably still the large pink
file No. VII, have you, with you in the witness box? It
has "Advertising" on its spine; is that it?
       A. Volume VII, Advertising.

  Q. Yes. Can you get out also VIA in the same coloured series,
pink? You will need that in a moment.

                      (Short Adjournment)

MR. RAMPTON: Mr. Green, can you turn, please, to the back of
this file at tab 24, if you can find it? I am afraid we
are going back over nine years.
       A. I have it.

  Q. This is a letter from the Department of Law of the State of
New York. Its date is 6th September 1985. We have all
seen these documents before. I will not read them out.
What I am going to read out are the three specific
complaints on the first page, the page which is numbered
423 of this letter. First of all, I want to ask you this:
Do you remember this particular event, this complaint,
       about the Chicken McNuggetts advertisement?
       A. Yes, I do.

  Q. The complaints were: "The advertising claim that 'Only
Delicious Chunks of Juicy Breast and Thigh Meat Go Into
Chicken McNuggetts' is false because, in fact, the chicken
meat is mixed which chicken skin and McNuggetts are cooked
in high-fat beef lard which is absorbed into the chicken.

       2. The advertising claim that McNuggetts are made from
'Whole Breasts and Thighs' is misleading because it fails
       to disclose the presence of chicken skin and beef fat;
