  Q. You were never a crew member?
       A. Well, I was -- every trainee Manager starts off
learning crew stations, so for the first three months of a
trainee Manager's programme they learn the crew stations.

  Q. But you were hired as a trainee Manager ---
       A. I was, yes.

  Q. -- not as a crew member?
       A. That is right, yes.

MS. STEEL: We think we have more or less finished but just
       wanted to check.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Sit down again, please, Mr. Tindale. Sit
down and have a discussion about it.

MR. MORRIS: I think just one final question. (To the witness):
You have visited the Hamburger University in America, have
       you?
       A. I have, yes.

  Q. Would you say that the set up there is similar, the same,
as what you have got in -----
       A. Well, it is extensive.

  Q. It is bigger. But in terms of what you have been saying
about the UK and the role of the University and the things
we have talked about, it is roughly the same in America?
       A. It is similar, yes.

  Q. Right. All the Managers of McDonald's stores in America
attend the Hamburger University there, do they?
       A. The course that they would attend at Hamburger
University in America is the AOC which is the only course
that they run at Hamburger University in America. So all
the restaurant Managers in the US would go to Chicago for
       that course.

  MR. MORRIS: No further questions.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Thank you.

MR. RAMPTON: There is no re-examination, my Lord.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Mr. Tindale, would you like to go and sit at
the back, because it may be someone else will need to ask
you questions. But for the time being anyway you are
released from giving further evidence, thank you.

                       (The witness withdrew)

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just go and wait.

MR. RAMPTON: I do not know what other people might want to ask
       him questions.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is just if something occurred which you
wanted further instructions on. It is not for me to tell
