Day 197 - 07 Dec 95 - Page 44
have had nothing to do with this, can he? Frank Stanton
did not become the Area Supervisor until 24th February
1986.
A. As I have already stated, to the best of my knowledge,
what I have told you is true. It happened. I have no
reason to lie. Unfortunately, I have no way of confirming
dates. Everything I have told you is from memory. If
there are mistakes -----

Q. Frank Stanton -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No, you must let the witness finish.

MR. RAMPTON: I am sorry.

THE WITNESS: If there are mistakes in my statement, they are
through lapses of memory. The incidents happened. They
took place.

Q. Frank Stanton was not at any meeting concerned with the
McDonald's Freedom Fighters, was he?
A. He was at meetings where it was discussed to get rid
of people, and they had to go. That is a fact.

Q. Will you please answer my question?
A. I just have answered the question.

Q. Frank Stanton was not at any meeting concerned with the
McDonald's Freedom Fighters, was he?
A. I stand by my statement.

Q. And what you said yesterday?
A. Yes.

Q. So Frank Stanton was at a meeting some time in 1984 or
1985 before Mr. Paul Jackson was dismissed, is that what
you are saying?
A. As I am saying -- what I said yesterday, to the best
of my knowledge, is true.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What is being put to you is that you must be
mistaken about that. Do you think you could have been
mistaken in your recollection that Frank Stanton was
involved?
A. From the evidence of dates, if you are saying that I
am mistaken involved in that case, then that could be the
case, but being involved in people being told to go is a
fact. As I said, it is very difficult to recall things
that happened nine years ago without any reference to
dates, people's names and you are doing it all from
memory. To the best of knowledge, this information is
correct and true.

MR. RAMPTON: Throughout the time that you were Store Manager
Mark Davis was your Supervisor, was he not?
A. All bar the last six months.

Q. And Frank Stanton had long since left the area, had he
not?
A. He went as I was promoted Store Manager.
