  Q. Right. You mentioned about during the job interviews you
would tell the crew, the interviewee, that they would be on
their feet quite a lot of the time. This probably does not
matter, but there are not any jobs where you sit down at
       McDonald's, are there?
       A.  The administration assistants would certainly;
       cashiers.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: We are talking about ordinary crew. They are
essentially on their feet for their working period; is that
       right?
       A. Yes.

MS. STEEL: You mentioned also about -- I might leave that.

MR. MORRIS: In paragraph 8 of your statement you said that
being particularly unpleasant to employees is a way of
       getting rid of them?
       A. Sorry?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You denied ---

MR. MORRIS: You denied that happens.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: -- you or any of the managers would be
particularly unpleasant in order to get a crew member to
       leave?
       A. Right, yes.

MR. MORRIS: Then you say this could have exposed your store to
       claims of unfair dismissal?
       A. Yes.

  Q. You have to have two years' employment, do you not, to be
able to lodge a claim for unfair dismissal?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Just going to the end of your statement about 24 hour
shifts. You said, "None of my staff have ever worked a 24
hour shift" and Mr. Magill, who you are responding to, if
I can find the right section ----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is the continuation statement.

  MR. MORRIS: Yes.
       A. He says the same.

MR. MORRIS: He says he remembers a person called Joe. I do not
know if you remember a person called Joe; it is a long time
ago. You remember Mr. Magill. Do you happen to know
someone called Joe? Is it a friend of Mr. Magill or
       someone ----
       A. There were two or three Joe's there, that I can recall.

  Q. OK.
       A. Would you like me to explain what I think he means?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Why do you not do that, and then ----
       A. I think he is slightly confused. When he arrived at
