Day 275 - 08 Jul 96 - Page 44
that they are orange and the fact sheet was never in any
colour, apart from white.

Can I just say about photograph 10? Obviously this
was not me, but Mr. Nicholson said that that was roughly
where this thing was going on when he saw me supposedly
picking up a handful of leaflets and giving them to
someone. That firstly I would not have been giving them to
someone in terms of saying "hand these out", because nobody
instructed anybody to hand out certain leaflets or do
anything on pickets. People could do what they wanted to
do.

Secondly, that if I had picked up a handful of
fact sheets I would have noticed it, because they are
thicker than the A5 leaflets and I would have known that
they should not be being distributed on the picket. So, I
would not have handed them out and I would not have handed
them to somebody else to hand out either. Again, in
photograph 15, I am holding the banner and in photograph
17.

You can actually just see me in photograph 18, just
behind Mr. Clarke's head or just in front of Mr. Gravit's
nose, but in the background. Again, from my position, it
looks like I am holding the banner. I certainly would not
be able to leaflet from that position, because there is too
many other people surrounding me, other protestors.

If I just say about the man that appears in photograph
22. That from time to time people did make posters from
art work that was around and that clearly is far too large
to be a copy of the fact sheet. It is obviously someone
has made a poster by blowing up or enlarging the front
cover of the fact sheet.

Again, in photograph 25, you can see me just behind
Brazil, back shot, not very flattering and not in a
position to be distributing leaflets to members of the
public. Because I am in the middle of other protestors and
not anywhere near the pavement where people actually walked
up. The only people that would really walk along the
pavement that is in front of the wall would be people
coming from McDonald's. So, if you were going to leaflet,
you would not stand on that part. You would stand on the
part near the trees.

Again, in photograph 26, you can see my back, just
next to the person in the red coat. Again, I am not in any
kind of position to be distributing leaflets then, because
I am in the middle of a crowd.

Q. It is quarter-to-4. You remember what I said this morning
about the documents?
A. Yes.

Q. If you want to finish what you are saying about that set of
photographs, do so. Otherwise, we will break off now and
you can resume in the morning?
A. Yes. Okay, I have finished on that set of photographs.
