       3,765 pigs per week.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What was what last figure?

MS. STEEL: 3,765 pigs per week. He said the total UK kill is
       15,032,000 pigs.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What was that figure again? My screen has
stopped. Give me the figure again.

MS. STEEL: So has mine. 15,032,000 pigs.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MS. STEEL: He said that they used -- McDonald's this is, not
McKeys -- McDonald's used 59,751,272 pounds of beef in the
UK, which was equivalent to 331,951 head of cattle, which
was equivalent to 6,915 head of cattle per week.

He said: "Of our beef usage, 76.9 percent last year was of
UK origin. Therefore, 76 percent of the total UK kill is
255,270 head or 8.1 percent of the total beef slaughterings
       in the United Kingdom."

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Now, all those figures are on pages 30 and
       31, are they?

MS. STEEL: 30, 31 and 32. He said that those figures were for
McDonald's, not for McKeys. He said that they were based
on the fact that they did not use the whole cow; they were
       calculated with that in mind.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: So, what he is saying is that McDonald's take
a portion of that number of head of cattle; is that right?

MS. STEEL: Yes. That is how many have to be killed in order
for them to get their supply.

MR. MORRIS: I think the pigs have to be multiplied by a 10
figure, or whatever, as well, to get the accurate
       percentage.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Are you saying that that is how many cattle
       have to be reared?

MS. STEEL: I think that those figures were -- they had that
       taken into consideration already.

MR JUSTICE BELL: With pigs, it is not the same? Mr. Morris has
said I have got to multiply the pigs by a certain number.

MS. STEEL: I might be wrong, but I think he had already done
that when he was making the calculation. I might be wrong
       about that.

MR. MORRIS: I think he said specifically -----

MR JUSTICE BELL: I will have a look at it, anyway.

MS. STEEL: The quote from Mr. Walker about "as a result of the
