Day 152 - 11 Jul 95 - Page 58
A. Not that I am aware of.

Q. Do you have any concrete instructions from on high to make
sure that unions do not get into the restaurants?
A. No.

Q. Do you have any instructions what to do if the crew should
say, or some of them should say, they want to be
represented by a union?
A. No.

Q. Has that ever happened?
A. Not in my experience.

Q. Are you willing to offer a guess what you would do if it
did happen?
A. If what happened exactly?

Q. Put yourself in the place of a Manager.
A. Right.

Q. Now you are a senior person?
A. Yes.

Q. What do you think a Manager should do if it should happen
that a number of the crew said to the Manager: "We would
like to be represented by a union"; what do you think the
Manager should do?
A. I think they should take advice off Human Resources and
find out how to deal with the situation. Having never
encountered that in any of the restaurants that I deal
with, or as a Restaurant Manager, then it would be new
territory. Therefore, it would probably be a new
experience and we would need to know how to deal with
anybody who wanted to join a union.

Q. Do you do any training yourself nowadays?
A. On odd occasions, yes.

Q. Do you ever mention anything about unions when you are
training people?
A. Certainly not.

Q. Can I ask you about rap sessions? You have been an Area
Supervisor and you are now an Operations Manager?
A. Yes.

Q. Had the rank of Senior Supervisor gone by the time you were
promoted?
A. I think I actually was a Senior Supervisor for a couple
of months, but it was the same position as OPs Manager.

Q. I was going to ask you, have you conducted any rap sessions
yourself?
A. Have I ever conducted them?

Q. Yes.
A. Yes, frequently.

Q. Roughly, how many do you think?
