       business.

  Q. You mean the processing end?
       A. No, I mean the production end because only part of
       production is processing.

  Q. What do you mean by "production" then?
       A. From receival of the birds, through slaughter,
evisceration and then the products get or the meat gets
transferred to the primary processing part of the business.

  Q. What animal welfare checks are made for the other side of
the business then, the beef and the pork side?
       A. From McDonald's?

  Q. Yes.
       A. We are really not very much involved. I would say she
probably visits slaughtering of beef and pork no more than
two or three times a year. It would not be much more than
       that.

  Q. Does she ever visit the farms?
       A. No, no, not for beef or pork. That is the role of the
       supplier on both counts.

  Q. That would be McKey's responsibility?
       A. That is right, and also the visits to the abattoir
       would be McKey.

  Q. Sorry?
       A. The visits to the abattoirs would be also be McKey's
       responsibility.

  Q. Right.
       A. If Mrs. Crawford goes, it is because she has an
interest in what is going on.

  Q. What, a personal interest as opposed to a professional
       concern?
       A. I think a personal and professional. As I explained to
you last week, personally she does take animal welfare very
seriously indeed, so it is both personal and professional.

  Q. Is she more concerned about the welfare of chickens than
the welfare of pigs and cows?
       A. I have never asked her to be sure, so I do not know the
       answer to that.

  Q. What monitoring do you do of agro-chemical policies?
       A. We do not directly.

  Q. You do not?
       A. No.

  Q. It says here: "McDonald's will monitor agro-chemical
       policies and suppliers"?
       A. Well, it is through the suppliers.

  Q. Right. So who does that then?
       A. Who does that through the suppliers?
