Day 069 - 19 Dec 94 - Page 21
the first of the pages that run on for another 111 pages,
to page 132, at the back of the bundle. I , myself, have
no wish to take you through these documents, Dr. Gomez
Gonzalez, you will be relieved to hear. I notice they are
called "Task Summary SPL Report for Establishment 07221
P". Two questions about that: what is an SPL report?
A. It is a Statistical Process Level report.

Q. The number 07221 P, what does that mean?
A. It means the location of what is called establishment
number, which is the location of the plant, and "P" stands
for poultry.

Q. You told us, I think last week, that all establishments
concerned in the production of food have to have a number;
is that right?
A. That is correct.

Q. Slaughterhouses, processing plants?
A. That is correct.

Q. Do distribution centres have numbers, too?
A. That, I do not know.

Q. Do you know which processing plant this is, or which plant
it is: 07221 P?
A. It is also written at the bottom of the page -- it is
the plant in Springdale, Arkansas. But the official
number, according to US DA, that number is 77221 P.

Q. There is "Chick N' Quick" written first in those three
lines. What does that mean?
A. That is the name of the company, the name of the label.

Q. Then it has a plant at Rogers and a plant at Springdale.
Is this Tyson's plant?
A. It is a company owned by Tyson.

Q. I think you told us that neither of those plants supplies
McDonald's?
A. That is correct.

MR. MORRIS: Can we just save time? Do either of those plants
ever supply McDonald's?
A. No. They have never, ever supplied McDonald's. Our
only relationship with Tyson is the Nashville, Arkansas,
plant, and it is a totally different division from any of
the other Tyson's facilities. That is why I cannot give
you information, because they do not have that kind of
information. We require them not to share that kind of
information.

MR. RAMPTON: The Nashville number, I think, is 07100 P?
A. That is correct.

Q. We can see a batch of those later on in this bundle of
documents. I am not going to ask you to look at them,
myself. They start, though, I can tell you, on page 50.
A. That is correct.
