Day 274 - 04 Jul 96 - Page 16

is your recollection of my attendance of London Greenpeace
       meetings?
       A. I mean, you did not attend very often. I remember
seeing you within the first month that I attended the group
but after that I saw you only a few times and certainly by
the time the poll tax campaign had come under way in 1989
you were virtually not there at all and only came back to
report on your local poll tax group, and after Charlie's
accident you did not turn up at all, and if you say this is
the first time I saw you since August 1989 then that is
probably right. It accords with my memory.

  Q. Right would you have--
       A. I mean, after that time virtually, I rarely did not see
you at all. I have only got to know you really through the
last few years of doing this case.

  Q. In the notes that you have in front of you in the middle of
the page, it says "Present at the meeting was Helen Steel,
Jane, Dave Morris and the man from Catford whose name I
learned to be Alan. Due to lack of numbers and lack of
"essential" people at the meeting little was discussed of
any import." Then he goes on a bit below to talk about my
       reporting about my domestic circumstances.

In the notes of Alan Claire for the same date, which I
       cannot find here.

MS. STEEL: 864, they are just before.

MR. MORRIS: Can you just read that front page to yourself, if
       you can read the writing?
  ?
       A. Yes, it is quite difficult.

  Q. Apart from the -- I do not think you need to comment on the
insulting matter to do with yourself.
       A. Right.

  Q. Can you comment?
       A. He said here that you had helped organise the 1989
antiMcDonald's fayre. That, I know to be untrue, Paul did
it almost virtually on his own. As I said, Charlie helped
with the stage. I have never heard you say that you
produced the leaflets for antiMcDonald's campaign. As you
had said it at that meeting, I think, there would have been
some disagreement. "Great involvement". I mean, that was
the first time you had been to the meeting. Well, you said
it was the first time I had seen you so I do not know about
great involvement. And you did not have--

  Q. "Solid member of group"; do you have any comment on that?
       A. Well... Maybe you have been in previous years before I
came, but you certainly weren't from the time that I
       started, which was October 1988.

  Q. Right. And lower down?
       A. It also says here about your organising the 1990 London
Greenpeace fayre and I know that you did not help organise
that, and it was only 1st March. We would not have started
