them in the Royal Avenue, but the local residents say:
"Would you kindly remove them because the colour does not
match the areas?" So I did remove them.

MS. STEEL: The other complaints made by the people, other than
the ones you visited, how did you deal with those?
       A. To me, every complaint is extremely important because
every single resident and every single customer do count,
so they always take the top priority.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I am concerned that you may be slightly at
cross-purposes. You remember the occasion when you went
and found a straw in front of someone's doorstep?
       A. Yes.

  Q. You remember an occasion when you went found a cup with ice
       in it?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Although you think that there were about four complaints a
year about environment/index.html">litter, can you actually now remember any of the
       other complaints or not?
       A. Other complaints -- the reason I remember it because it
was like a straw; somebody has complained. I think that
       was, to me -----

  Q. For whatever reason you have remembered that. You see, you
are being asked about the other occasions and what you did
then. What I want to find out is, can you remember the
other occasions, specific occasions? If you can,
obviously, Ms. Steel can ask you about them; if you cannot
        -----
       A. No, I do not remember them, sir.

MS. STEEL: You did say to Mr. Rampton that you remembered a
tall fellow coming in and speaking to you in the store?
       A. Right.

  Q. What was that about?
       A. That was, I think it was in Wellington Square that he
asked me that there was some environment/index.html">litter in there.

  Q. How did you respond to that?
       A. Basically, I visited and I must have sent my employees
       out.

  Q. Do you remember what environment/index.html">litter was there when you went round
       there?
       A. No, I do not.

  Q. You do not remember?
       A. No.

  Q. But there was some environment/index.html">litter there?
       A. Yes, there must have been.

  Q. You said as well as that you remember speaking to
Dr. Taylor, Linda Wells and there was once a lady who came
in -- what was this lady complaining about?
       A. The lady, she complained about environment/index.html">litter, I remember, but
