Day 267 - 21 Jun 96 - Page 53

  Q. Can you just look at the photographs, please? They should
       be behind your statement.

MR. RAMPTON: They are behind the statement in tab C in yellow
       2.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you have a yellow 2 there?
       A. Yes, I do.

  Q. If you look in divider 5 about halfway through you will
       find the photographs.

MS. STEEL: Photographs 2, 3, 4, what is the purpose of them?
       A. So that it could be seen where the office was within
       the actual building.

  Q. How would that be relevant to proving whether or not
       someone had distributed a leaflet?
       A. I do not know. It was taken for clarification, I
       assume.

  Q. Was it taken to show the way for somebody else who might be
interested in getting into the offices to plant bugs or
steal things belonging to the group?
       A. No, it was taken so that people looking at them could
see what the building was like.

  Q. Are these all the photographs that were taken?
       A. Yes, they are. I believe they are.

  Q. What is the purpose of photograph number 8?
       A. I do not recall.

  Q. The key says it is the key to the next door office.
Unopenable. Nothing to do with LG. So you tried to open
       it?
       A. No, it would probably have been taken so as to show
all four sides as much as possible of what the room looked
       like.

  Q. How would that be useful to proving that somebody had
       distributed a leaflet?
       A. It would not. It would be to show the layout of the
       room.

  Q. For somebody who might be interested to come in after you,
to take things or to plant bugs?
       A. No.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Look, you have made your suggestions with
regard to that. You have got a series of those. I will
consider the comment which, in effect, you have made in
your cross-examination. If you have got a suggestion to
make about someone going in and putting a bug in on some
occasion or a particular occasion, put it. But there is
nothing in any of the statements which suggest it. So, if
you have got a suggestion to make, even though you are not
going to call evidence about it, please put it.
