Day 258 - 07 Jun 96 - Page 46
because it does not appear to have any relevance in the
case, it goes to credit only, it seems to me. I do not
really need to see the reference. In fact, I do not think
I am entitled to see it. It seems to be totally
irrelevant. (Handed)

MS. STEEL: If you read the description on the back there.
A. Well, this is obviously National Council for Civil
Liberties, this is obviously an organisation which is not
too happy with the Economic League. But I do not know that
that is a true account of the Economic League.

Q. Would you agree that whilst you might not see it from the
same viewpoint, the description of its activity is
essentially correct on there?
A. I would not know. As I said, I have hardly ever had
anything to do with the Economic League. They have helped
me on a couple of occasions, that is all.

Q. You said that you met someone with the Economic League?
A. Yes.

Q. Was it either Stan Hardy or Jack Winder?
A. Jack Winder.

Q. That was who you met?
A. Yes.

Q. He was the--

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Where are we actually going on the Economic
League matters? If it is relevant to the question of
whether you or Mr.--

MS. STEEL: It is also relevant to employment matters.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If it is, put the point to him because I can
then see, hopefully, what its possible relevance is.

MS. STEEL: It was Mr. Winder who gave you the information
about Transnational and London Greenpeace?
A. It was Winder who asked to see us, and that was on the
occasion when he, or some of his staff, had attended this
meeting by Transnational Information Exchange at which your
leaflet was distributed.

Q. London Greenpeace leaflet?
A. Yes, sorry, London Greenpeace leaflet was distributed,
and on that occasion I said to him if he gets anything on
London Greenpeace pass it on to me, I will be grateful,
nothing more.

Q. They have got a new company called Cambrin. Are you
getting information from them?
A. I think that is the new name, is it not, Camprin?
I think Terry Carroll remained with them for a while. I am
not sure he is with them now.

Q. But you think he was when they changed the name?
A. I think he stuck with them, yes. I remember that name
