Day 265 - 19 Jun 96 - Page 62

said or what you saw on a bit of paper?
       A. No. It may have been what you said or somebody else
       said or general conversation.

  Q. You cannot remember now?
       A. No.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Mr. Morris, this is an example. If it is
your positive case that you did not say that and no one
said in it your presence at this meeting, if you accept
that you were at the meeting, you should put it because by
the same token, what I said the other day, if you do not
challenge it in that way I will assume that you are not
admitting it. Hence the question is tested. But that you
have no positive recollection or information from others
       yourself; that is wrong.

I can help you further. You do not necessarily have to
have a recollection that it was not said. You do not
necessarily have to have information from someone else that
it was not said. If it is your case that you could not
possibly have been involved in organizing the 1989 fair
because of your personal misfortunes, then that is
sufficient for you to say, "I suggest nothing was said to
that effect by anybody." But you must put it fair and
square so that I know for sure that it is positively
       challenged.

MR. MORRIS: Yes. Well, I could not possibly have said that I
helped organize the 1989 McDonald's fair, could I?
       A. I do not recall whether you specifically said that.
It had been something that I had gleaned from that meeting.

  Q. I could not have possibly said that I was organizing the
       1990 London Greenpeace fair?
       A. I do not know. If I have made reference to it in my
notes, it would have been mentioned.

  Q. This was in March 1990. The London Greenpeace in any event
was not going to be until October. Nobody was organizing
the fair anyway at that stage?
       A. If I have made reference to it, it may have been
discussed. It would have been discussed.

  Q. And I would never have said I helped produce the leaflets
       for the antiMcDonald's campaign?
       A. If you said it; I do not recall. It would have been
said or I would have had the impression from those present
of what I have made in my notes.

  Q. In fact, if the subject would have come up, I could have
stated that I am not involved in the anitMcDonald's
campaign. That is really what other people were doing?
       A. That was not the impression that I got.

  Q. From this meeting?
       A. From what my notes say.

  Q. Or from other meetings or what?
       A. From what my notes say. From what I recall by reading
