Day 260 - 11 Jun 96 - Page 60
like that rather than a lot of energy that was taken up
with the fair?
A. I cannot recall that, no.

Q. The next paragraph: "The only other item of any interest
concerned the fact that many people apparently thought that
a demonstration of some kind should be arranged in protest
to the international monetary fund on the anniversary of
last year's events. It was proposed that the action be
taken against some of the high street banks. John said
that he would produce an anti-IMF leaflet."

That is all correct, is it?
A. To the best of my recollection, yes.

Q. Do you recollect that I was one of the people that was
saying that there should be an action against the IMF?
A. Yes. Many people said there should be.

Q. In actual fact, in a previous report you referred to IMF,

A. Yes, it was certainly one of your interests, yes.

MR. MORRIS: It says, at the bottom of that: "John said he

August."
A. Yes.

and get on with, basically?
A. I have no idea. I assume so.

Q. Is that generally the way things happened, from what you
recollect, that people would go off and do a leaflet about
a subject they felt strongly about, and that is how they
got done?
A. No, not quite that way. People were tasked or, by
mutual agreement, tasked to carry out a certain activity.

MS. STEEL: That would be amongst the people within the group
who thought that that particular campaign or activity was
important and something worth following up?
A. To them, yes.

MR. MORRIS: So, is that how you would recollect three or four
people were interested in the IMF campaign -- it seems that
Helen was one of them, John was another -- and they would
