Day 259 - 10 Jun 96 - Page 83
is that they have been put in the file in the order in
which they were disclosed. It is as simple as that. It is
not the logical order; it is a perfectly understandable
reason, but it is probably not, as your Lordship said,
logical. (Document handed to the witness). Can you take
it out of the packet, please, Mr. Bishop. Does it do this,
does it open up?
A. Yes, it does.

Q. So it has three sheets?
A. Yes.

Q. Is that the document in which there is a copy attached to
your first statement which you speak of in paragraph 12 of
that statement?
A. It is.

Q. Do you remember that document at the offices of
London Greenpeace?
A. Yes, I do.

Q. When was the first time do you think you saw it?
A. That is difficult for me to answer. I may have seen it
on my first visit but paid no attention to it at that time.

Q. Your first visit was on?
A. On the 17th May.

Q. A public meeting at 6 Endsleigh Street?
A. No, 17th May at Caledonian Road.

Q. Caledonian Road, that is my fault.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That is the leaflet complained of?

MR. RAMPTON: That is the leaflet complained of, yes, my Lord,
it is. You tell us in the last paragraph of your first
statement, Mr. Bishop, this: "It became obvious to me at
this and other meetings that I attended that the leaflets
were available not just for the use of the persons
attending the meetings but rather those present were
encouraged to take a number of the leaflets for
distribution", and then a word, I think, is missing, "by
them to other members of the public. This arrangement was
understood by me and it appeared by others who took copies
of this and other leaflets in quantities of two or more for
distribution".

One or two questions about that: When you say "this
leaflet", what leaflet do you mean?
A. It would be the small leaflet.

Q. This small leaflet. What led to your understanding that
those leaflets were taken away by people present at these
meetings for distribution to the public?
A. I was told that I could take them away for distribution
to whoever I wanted to distribute them to.

Q. Did you ever distribute any of these leaflets to any
members of the public?
