     1 define environment/index.html">litter as different things. I define environment/index.html">litter ---

2 Q. What is left on the street?
              A. -- on the street. Litter is not environment/index.html">litter if it is in
     3 the garbage bin.

4 MR. MORRIS: Drive-throughs, are they an expanding percentage
              of your business?
5 A. Yes. We have found our customers seem to want more
and more of that type of service.
     6
         Q. Have you written any reports, as an environmental affairs
7 department, over the environmental considerations of
take-away aspects of your business in terms of environment/index.html">litter, and
8 also in encouraging car use with drive-through?
              A. No.
     9
         Q. You have not?
    10 A. No.

11 Q. Did that figure in the EDF report?
              A. No. Again we were looking at solid waste only. We
12 were not looking at car use.

13 Q. Was the take-away aspect of your business looked at at all
to see if it could be eliminated, if necessary?
    14 A. What eliminated?

    15 Q. The take-away aspect. What I am saying is -- I cannot
remember the EDF report but it did look at the whole area
16 of take-away and the environmental problems associated
              with it?
17 A. Yes, in a broad sense we looked at all of our
packaging. Half our packaging is take-away packaging, so
18 we looked at how to minimise it.

19 Q. But it looked at it with a view maybe of minimising
take-aways or was that not in its brief?
20 A. No. The idea was to not to change the business.

21 Q. You did also say a problem about slippages if there was a
dishwasher in terms of staff safety, you looked into that,
    22 yes?
              A. Yes. I have seen information on it. I have had
23 personal experience to say it would be an issue.

24 Q. Is that one of the main causes of accidents at the moment?
              A. I have no idea. You mean, sit-down restaurants?
    25
         Q. Just for staff in McDonald's restaurants?
26 A. I have no idea. Again we do not use large scale
              dishwashers in our restaurants.
    27
         Q. I mean in general, because there are other -----
    28 A. I have no idea.

29 Q. --- water on the floor. So the parameters of your brief,
for example, with looking at take-away, you said that was
30 not part of EDF McDonald's -- it was not to question the
business fundamentally, but to look at the business how it
