  Q. What about the other people; were you in touch with them to
       find out what was happening?
       A. No, but I just heard over a while after, I think that
was later, that some were sacked, and a lot of people had a
       lot of trouble.

  Q. Were you aware of what happened to Tom Caulfield?
       A. Yes. I believe he was fired for his hair, or
something. He had long hair -- well, he had not really
long hair; he had sideburns, or something.

MR. RAMPTON: This all sounds a bit like hearsay. I am not
       desperately concerned.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I was not interrupting, but I -----

MR. MORRIS: It is important in terms of perception of the -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No, it is not, really.

MR. MORRIS: With respect, I think it is, because we are trying
to find out why Mr. Mrozek ------

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well, do that. But what he has heard from
other people about their position really is not going to
       help me on that.

  MR. MORRIS: No.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: There is a difference. First of all, one has
to decide what is relevant, and then even if something is
arguably relevant, one has to ask whether one can really
       attach any weight to it.

MR. MORRIS: OK. (To the witness): Why did you leave
       McDonald's?
       A. Why? Because I felt after the two incidents that I had
experienced that, especially the fact if they were trying
to say I had been stealing, that is a criminal offence, and
I just did not want that on my head, you know. I just felt
that they were out just to get rid of me in some way or
       other.

  Q. Why would they want to get rid of you?
       A. I was one of the first people who started to try and
get the union in into McDonald's in Dublin. I was the very
first person, myself and Maria Walsh, at one stage; we made
the initial contact with the trade unions.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Was the standing outside the locker room
incident before the drinking Carlsberg incident?
       A. Yes, I think it was.

  Q. So the drinking Carlsberg was the later?
       A. Yes.

  Q. How long was that before you stopped working for McDonald's
       altogether?
       A. I would say it was around the October of that year
