Day 168 - 03 Oct 95 - Page 60
Mr. Richards before 12 o'clock, there will be no criticism
from me if we have to wait until 12.00. If you can finish
so that we can start her, then so much the better because
it gives us a better prospect of getting through this
week's schedule by Friday afternoon rather than running
into the beginning of next week.

Some time, either tomorrow or Thursday morning, I would
like you to tell me just how you planned the second half of
next week and whether your French witnesses are coming then
or what.

MR. RAMPTON: That I am going to do.

MR. MORRIS: It is their French witnesses.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Sorry, your French witnesses.

MR. RAMPTON: Theirs are not until November.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That is right. It is a complete slip on my
part.

MR. RAMPTON: It is mine. I will be in a position to tell your
Lordship that, certainly tomorrow or the next day.

MS. STEEL: We were actually promised the statements at the
beginning of this week.

MR. RAMPTON: Yes, you will just have to be patient.

MS. STEEL: That is all very well but Mr. Rampton was
complaining about not -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What were the times I said about that?
I gave some indication of time when they should be -----

MR. RAMPTON: Your Lordship did; I said I hoped to be able to
serve them this week, I think I may -----

MS. STEEL: Early at the beginning of this week.

MR. RAMPTON: Please. I think I said the early part of this
week. If I have them ready tomorrow, then I will serve
them, but I will certainly say something to your Lordship
about it tomorrow.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, if they can be served tomorrow, I think
it is important that they are, because I do not want any
argument about the Defendants not being prepared or not
having an opportunity this week to mention any problem
which arises from them,

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, there should not be a problem, given that
I readily agreed that the Defendants' French witnesses
should not be giving evidence until 13th November which is
-----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What I do not want to do is to lose any of
Wednesday or Thursday or Friday on the French witnesses
