Day 260 - 11 Jun 96 - Page 31

       A. Yes.

MS. STEEL: Just on the notes on this page: the bit in italics
in curly brackets, towards the bottom of the page, was
       something that related to what had been written previously;
it was your comment on the previous thing that you had
       written?
       A. The comment about the amount in the Nationwide Anglia
       Building Society account?

  Q. Yes.
       A. Yes. I would assume that was written as a result of
somebody saying that "we have got £1,400 in the account".

  Q. No. I meant, it is done in the manner of your comments in
the kind of -- in italics?
       A. Yes.

  Q. So it would relate to something that had been written just
       prior to that?
       A. You mean in the blanked out part?

  Q. Yes.
       A. Yes, it is highly possible, but I cannot say what was
       in the blanked out part.

  Q. OK. In the next paragraph, you talk about the benefit
concert that was to be at the George Roby?
       A. Yes.

  Q. You say: "Most of the group, including members so far
mentioned but not seen, are apparently attending this
benefit concert." Was that the reason why you decided to
go to the benefit concert, to meet the rest of the group?
       A. I had not been to any events or meetings other than the
weekly meetings, and I felt that if this was one that a lot
of people were attending it would be beneficial to go to
       see what happened.

  Q. You did not go because you were volunteering to do a stall,
       or anything like that?
       A. I did not volunteer to do anything in the group at all.

MR. MORRIS: Regarding 14th June, you said in the first
paragraph of your notes, very last sentence: "It was
obvious that both Paul and Jonathan had been in the office
for some time, writing letters and performing other
       administration work."
       A. Yes.

  Q. Was that fairly typical, that people would answer letters
       before meetings?
       A. No, that was not typical. I was aware that letters
were answered on days other than the weekly meeting days
but, normally, when I went to a weekly meeting, I was
either the first or the second person to arrive.

  Q. On the next page, about second paragraph:

"There was mention of future events taking place, mainly
