Day 248 - 13 May 96 - Page 09
of that junction?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Why not point one or two out because
they ----

MS. STEEL: The Post Office lorry.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Let me do it, because they are not all, you
see. What may be an ambulance, a white vehicle, pointing
away from you, which has a lamp post slicing down the
middle of its back -- do you see?
A. I have that, yes.

Q. That is in exactly the same position. The car about to
turn left at the lights just to the nearside of the
ambulance is a different colour, but in exactly the same
position and looks the same shade.
A. One is red and one looks like black or blue.

Q. Yes. The cars about to turn, coming in the other direction
and about to turn right, look as if they are in exactly the
same positions too and look to be the same colour. That is
what is being put to you. There are no... There is one
car coming down the other side, one and a half cars coming
down the other carriageway across the verge from the
ambulance, and they do not appear on the nine o'clock one,
they do not appear on the 7.30 one, but the two vehicles
immediately in front of the... I call it an ambulance
because it may be an ambulance, the two vehicles in front
of it look exactly the same?
A. It could very well be, very well be.

Q. What is being put to you is that... I will use another
word from 'fake', this is a mock-up with the building put
on but some of the vehicles in exactly the same position,
it is not an actual photo taken at 7.30 a.m. and another
one taken at 9.00 a.m. That is what is being put to you?
A. That could be possible, it could be possible.

MR. MORRIS: Do you not think that is conning people?
A. No, I think the point being made here is at 7.30 in the
morning there was nothing on a piece of land and an hour
and a half later the first two modules of a building had
been delivered and were in place, and so on and so forth,
it carries on throughout the day. The relevance of the
first picture as a starting point is not so important.

Q. So, are you saying that in McDonald's literature there may
appear similar inaccurate material, but it would not bother
you if it did?
A. Well, I do not consider that material in any way, shape
or form -- having witnessed what happens on these sites
from nothingness to arrival of the modules to the
completion of a building, I have seen it happen in nine
hours, I know what is there is possibly true and happens
every week. In the United Kingdom today there is nothing
that leads me to believe that could not be replicated this
afternoon in this country, and anywhere else if they had
the technical knowledge. There is nothing untrue about it.
