MR. JUSTICE BELL: If I were you, I would ask one or two
questions. You might ask who drafted the bit which is in
type, for instance.

MR. MORRIS: OK, I have to deal with it; because it is in his
evidence effectively, I have to deal with it then?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. Well, you do not have to deal with it.
What I suggest is that you deal with it if you are worried
that a point may be taken against you on it, or you think
you may get some real point in your favour out of it.

MR. MORRIS: OK. If we can go to that letter, petition or
whatever you call it, on page -- I have got it on page 976
of the ----

MS. STEEL: It is page 147 behind the statement.

MR. MORRIS: It is either 976 depending on what you have ----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is page 147 behind your statement in the
yellow bundle. In fact, has Mr. Mehigan's statement been
transferred to the yellow one, or is it still in the ----

MR. RAMPTON: It is still in XIII.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yellow XIII it is in.

MR. RAMPTON: Still at 41 of XIII.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: There are some numbers stamped on the bottom
of the page.
A. Yes.

Q. Your statement goes up to 137, I think. Then if you turn
on ten pages to 147 you will see what is described as the
petition.
A. Yes.

MR. MORRIS: Yes. Now ----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I am not treating that as evidence, but you
can ask questions about it if you want.

MR. MORRIS: Right, OK. I have a few brief questions about it.
I calculated something like 45, 46 names and actually, if
anyone wants to check, on page 989, just for the record --
do not worry yourself, Mr. Mehigan, I do not think -- the
last point in David Trimble's affidavit regarding
picketing, he refers to the petition signed by at least 45
employees. So, would you accept that something like 45
employees appeared to have signed this petition?
A. I have not counted them.

Q. No, I know.
A. So .....

Q. I have counted them; I make about 45 or 46 -- I cannot read
it all anyway. So, if 45 signatures are on that, David
