Day 276 - 09 Jul 96 - Page 27
While we are on that point, Mr. Morris served a
statement about what happened when we were outside court 67
waiting for the appeal, about Mrs Brinley-Codd handing a
copy of the fact sheet to a member of the public and just
to say that I witnessed that myself and I saw him reading
it. That was on 27th June. I made a note last night, the
point that I was trying to say about advertisements when I
was giving evidence yesterday and I forgot to say, or
forgot what I was trying to say, was that I have also
spoken to a number of my friends who have got children and
basically, you know, they have said to me that every time
McDonald's comes on the TV their kids are hassling them to
go there, and, obviously, they do not appreciate that kind
of pressure.

The other thing that also relates to my state of mind
is that I have actually spoken to quite a few people over
the years who have said that they have eaten at McDonald's
on a regular basis, including a lot of people who have
eaten there five or six days a week, and in fact Mr. Mills,
who runs the support campaign, used to eat at McDonald's
five days a week for a considerable period.

I do not know if the best bet now is if I go on to the
counterclaim things.

Q. Yes?
A. I have just remembered there is the Veggies
fact sheet. I think I have actually left it down there.

Q. It is in tab 208?
A. Well, it was just to identify that the original--

Q. Yes. Very well.
A. Shall I leave it and--

Q. Where is it now? Can you remember? All you need say is
that the one you handed me the other day was an original?
A. Yes.

Q. And then you can hand it to Mr. Riley when you next bring
it in?
A. Yes, okay. The Veggies fact sheet which I handed up
the other day was the original from which photocopies were
made for the trial bundles that appear at tab 208, and the
form it is in is two sheets of A4 printing on both sides
rather than a fold over sheet of A3.

Q. Just pause a moment?
A. Sorry.

Q. Yes?
A. And that I was aware that London Greenpeace got
leaflets from Veggies from time to time, including copies
of the fact sheet. I had completely forgotten that it was
two sheets of A4 rather than fold over, the original being
buried somewhere in my pile of the original documents.
But, yes, I had seen Veggies leaflets in the office, in the
London Greenpeace office.
