"Crew labour percentage for August/September/October
must", I emphasise "must", "be within the targeted labour
guidelines which are as follows ... "
A. They could be regional guidelines or there could be
market guidelines.

Q. If we go to page 1759, actually it appears that the
solicitor for Mr. Williams was seeking discovery on the
labour percentages and disciplinary procedures and things
like that. If we look over the page on 1760, point 1.3 at
the top of the page ---
A. Yes.

Q. -- it says -- this is an answer from McDonald's -- the
second sentence: "However, with regard to people
development and labour expenditure, each restaurant will
have varying requirements in both these areas and, as such,
the targets set would normally be established and assessed
by both the Area and Senior Operations Supervisor". What
position is the Senior Operations Supervisor? Does that
cover whole region?
A. No, there is no Senior Operations Supervisor now.

Q. But at that time would that cover the whole region?
A. No, no, he would have -- there were three stores to a
supervisor and two or three supervisors to a senior

Q. What is an area supervisor then, is that regional?
A. An Area Supervisor? No, the Area Supervisor is the
Supervisor. He has three restaurants.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: He is the three restaurant person?
A. Yes, he is about three restaurants. In some of the
smaller places he may have four, but three is about
normal. The Senior Operations Supervisor has two or three
Supervisors that he is responsible for or, maybe, it is
even four. They generally had about 14, 12 restaurants, 12
to 14 restaurants.

MR. MORRIS: If we move to page 1804?
A. Yes.

Q. Under point 3, Personnel?
A. Yes.

Q. Do you want to read those to yourself, those nine points?
A. Yes.

Q. Is there anything that gives you cause for concern in terms
of -- as I understand it -- tell me if I am right or wrong
-- this is a meeting of McDonald's officials regarding
Mr. Williams' restaurant and problems at that restaurant
regarding disciplinary action against Mr. Williams; is that
correct?
A. I have no idea. I know nothing about this case.

Q. No, but from your experience as Head of Personnel and the
way McDonald's relates to its managers and the various
