involved in it or even for merely just local heat within
the factory, and that waste, such as it is of substance, is
       used.

  Q. If you add 1,086 metre cubed to 180 metre cubed you get a
figure in metre cubed which is 23.7 per cent of the 5,340.
       Is that right?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. That is your 23.7 with the clearfelled area in the bottom
line; that is how you have worked that out?
       A. That is right. Since that time we have, my Lord, taken
into account that perhaps I should have included the
thinning area to give you a total gross area of forest.

  Q. I appreciate that. But at the moment we are working on the
sum which would come out at 248 hectares or .96 square
miles. When add in the thinned area it becomes 378
hectares or 1.46 square miles. Is that right?
       A. I have taken the 248 hectares of clearfelled and the
117 of forest thinning, making 365 hectares which equals
1.42 square miles if the thinning is included in the
       calculation.

  Q. But when you first turn over to page 6 you are just dealing
       on clearfelled figures?
       A. That is correct, my Lord.

  Q. If it all came from clearfelled figures you have got 17.8
hectares for 1,000 tonnes; you have got 13,949 tonnes once
you exclude your recycle material, so you multiply the two
and you end up with 248 hectares?
       A. Correct. I think, my Lord, what my figures tend to
show based upon this specific example that Iggesund is that
the area required to supply on an annual basis for
McDonald's requirements for Europe, are in the order of
1.42 which compares reasonably with the calculations from
an entirely different point starting from Mr. Kouchoukos of
1.46 for the equivalent volume of pulp and paper.

  Q. Yes. I understand that in order to get your 13,949
tonnes -- in fact should "tons" in the second line be spelt
with two N's and an E?
       A. Yes, my Lord, it should.

  Q. If that was all to come from clearfelled forest, you would
need 248 hectares or .96 square miles of forest?
       A. I hesitated on that point because I think that we are
talking about the -- let me just make sure what I have said
here -- no. I think, my Lord, at the very top of page 6 we
actually say here that the area clearfelled would be that
rather. Therefore, the .96 is specifically related to how
much clearfelled went into this supply line to Iggesund.
It being my assumption that the particular concern with
which we were dealing was as rather clearly stated in the
leaflet, as I understood it, that this would be taken out
of forestry, in other words clearfelled and removed, and
that was what was required. But I am more than willing to
add in the thinning to give a gross figure.
