  Q. They are asking their suppliers what the conditions are?
       A. I testified before about the translation I made from
Rudolf Madrigal in Costa Rica. In that translation he said
this is from my recollection as to who is the QA, the
country purchasing manager as well as the recollection from
a QA manager, and he mentions also Oscar and Gerado who are
the people involved in running the plant. These are
answers from them, but it comes from these things.

  Q. It may be a combination of recollection ----
       A. Yes, it could be.

  Q. --- and conversation?
       A. That is correct, it could be part of that. It could be
       just a conversation.

  Q. It might be fair to say that if they know it is for an
intending court case then they are going to put their
answers in the best light possible, are they not?
       A. That would be an incorrect statement, sir.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That may be a matter of comment to me.

THE WITNESS: Nobody will intentionally lie, especially if there
are going to be papers that will be presented in court.
That is not our practice, sir.

MR. MORRIS: You feel they would make it as accurate as
       possible?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. Then we have on the next bit which is still on Malaysia.
Uruguay has cropped up because there are exports from
       Uruguay to Malaysia?
       A. At that time that was correct.

  Q. For McDonald's?
       A. Raw materials, yes.

  Q. If we move over to Turkey, on the noise level prior to
slaughter control to reduce stress to animals, I just
noticed as I was going through that there are quite a few
no's on that as compared to other ones, yet you felt this
was something quite important in the list. I think you
indicated that was a fairly important one?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. Why do you feel that one is particularly important?
       A. Because it could add stress to the animal.

  Q. Which is important why?
       A. Because it will affect the welfare of the animal in a
short period of time, and it will affect the quality of the
meat as well. I hope you understand that this is the kind
of issue that will come out in the Humane Slaughter Act.
When we asked a question, "Is noise level prior to
slaughter controlled to reduce stress to the animals?" how
can one assume what level of noise will cause stress? How
can one measure what type of noise will affect stress?
Humans can actually enjoy noise in the form of music. So,
