which show the adjustments to the daily clock card reports.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Why have you picked August to September of
1994?

MR. MORRIS: Because it is my belief, and I am not sure if he
says it in his statement, but from speaking to him on the
telephone, Mr. Logan actually left McDonald's employment
sometime towards the end of last year in the autumn, maybe
October last year, therefore, a period before he left,
because obviously I did not want to set it too far back
because they may have been destroyed, and I wanted it to be
a time when he was actually there so he may be able to
comment on the names that appear.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you not have any names?

MR. MORRIS: Presumably, the point was that Mr. Logan is saying
it was a general practice, something that was happening
regularly.

MR. RAMPTON: He does not say that. He says "sometimes".

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You see, he says "sometimes altered people's
clock card reports".

MR. RAMPTON: "Sometimes".

MR. MORRIS: "Sometimes" is not once or twice. So where are we
now?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is the bottom of page 3 of his longhand
supplemental statement.

MR. MORRIS: From speaking to him, he felt that it would be
something that would appear. I asked his advice when
I made this application here, and he thought that would be
a reasonable time to see how often that practice was going
on. He would be able to go to those documents when he
gives evidence.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Take me to the reference to adjustment
sheets.

MR. MORRIS: Yes, that was what he told me over the phone which
is that when adjustments are made to a daily clock card
report the store kept some kind of adjustment sheet record,
I do not know in exactly what form that is in, otherwise
the daily clock card report may not reveal on its own
without the adjustment sheet exactly what has occurred.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Is there any more you want to say about that?

MR. MORRIS: No. The performance review is on page 5 of Michael
Logan's statement. He criticises the way performance
reviews are done in general. He says: "To my knowledge,
reviews were almost always late, often done in large
batches, often using standard language indicating that they
had not been properly done. Stock phrases", he says in his
statement. To gauge -----
