Day 259 - 10 Jun 96 - Page 61
Q. We know that the original is A5. Was it in a fold-out
form, so far as you could tell, or was it just one page
after another; or did you not see?
A. My recollection is that it was one page after another.
I think it was probably stapled in the top left-hand
corner.

Q. Were the "Americans" or the American lady looking at it, or
not?
A. I do not think so. I do not think she was looking at
while she was in court.

Q. Leaflet that she had was a row or two in front of you?
A. Yes.

Q. You say that you saw a pile of similar things. Exactly
where, so far as you can see?
A. It was, from what I recall, it was the row behind the
Defendants.

Q. So, this row where Mr. Atkinson is sitting?
A. Yes.

Q. How far along?
A. About where the laptop is now.

Q. About where the screen is?
A. Yes.

Q. Do you remember how big the pile was?
A. It was two or three inches high.

Q. You say it had a distinctive front cover; and, in fact,
that is not a page of it. That is an A5 version produced
by Veggie. Is that what you mean?
A. It had "What is wrong with McDonald's" and the man with
the mask, yes.

Q. They took it away with them, the couple, when they left
court?
A. Yes, they did.

Q. You were still sitting there?
A. Yes, I was.

MR. RAMPTON: Thank you, Mr. Howes.

Cross-examined by the Defendants

MS. STEEL: So you are a solicitor at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert,
then?
A. Yes.

Q. You have worked on this case?
A. To a small extent, yes.

Q. When have you done work on this case -- not the exact dates
but -----
A. It varies. Probably, most of my work was done at the
beginning of 1994.
