Day 080 - 30 Jan 95 - Page 55

MR. JUSTICE BELL: They would not charge you because it was in
bond and, therefore, when they brought it across the
       Atlantic ----
       A. No, sir.

  Q. --- it was just waiting for your notification to have it
brought to Milton Keynes or wherever?
       A. No, sir. No, they would not invoice us until they
       delivered it to us.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Is it the same woman working in whatever
department it is which would be dealing with this
documentation as it was back then?
       A. No, sir. Simone has not worked in the dock that long.

  Q. You are thinking of someone, if it was thought important,
would be able to sit down and try to make the documents
       tally?
       A. The people who are used to working in the dock offices,
sir, understand these systems. They will make them tally
in no time at all. I will do that.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What I suggest Ms. Steel if you have a
particular suggestion to put to Mr. Walker do so but
otherwise wait and see what if anything comes.

MS. STEEL: There is another order on page 11 which is ordered
on 26th April 1984 and due to be delivered on 3rd May 1984
and that is for 18 tonnes?
       A. Yes.

  Q. That is after the -- that is after ----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That is three months later.

MS. STEEL: Yes, but that is after the invoice of 9th April 1984
on page 17 of the other documents?
       A. Well, I am awfully sorry, but I cannot see what you are
driving at because that order is after the invoice. It
does not follow it is related if that order went out and
       another invoice would come in.

  Q. So you are saying that this order is not related to that
       invoice on page 17?
       A. Well, it is very difficult to read my 17, that is the
first point. "Arrived at dock office on 25th May, 24th
May", no, I do not think it does, because this was a
delivery date of 3rd of the 5th and the one you are
referring to on page 17 does not appear to have arrived
       until 24th May.

  Q. So it does not appear to be connected to that one. Do you
think it is likely to be connected to page 18?
       A. I cannot say. I cannot say.

  Q. It would be unusual to send out an invoice that long after
a delivery, would it not, two and a half months?
       A. Oh, yes, they would not wait that long.

  Q. What I am suggesting is that there were other orders, other
