Day 032 - 06 Oct 94 - Page 72

  Q. Let us call it 70 per cent, shall we, is that fair?
       A. Yes.

  Q. I do not know if you can do an average in your head. I
certainly cannot. McDonald's has three-quarters of that
       15 per cent.
       A. How has that changed over the years, I would wonder.

  Q. That is what you need to know, is it not?
       A. It would help to know whether the targeting of a
campaign of any sort to consider their responsibilities in
manufacturing should be targeted towards those that are
       growing, yes.

  Q. But, Dr. Lobstein, this is a share of the burger market?
       A. Yes, but -----

  Q. What you actually need to know, am I right ---?
       A. Yes.

  Q. -- I think you agreed with this earlier, is how many times
a person visits a McDonald's restaurant, is it not?
       A. An individual person?

  Q. Yes. We are talking about individual people's health, are
we not? If 40 million people go to McDonald's once each
every year, it does not matter, does it -- it is good for
McDonald's business, but it has no significance to the
health of the nation, does it?
       A. If that was -- we have been through this argument once
already -- just visiting McDonald's alone once, obviously
does not tell us very much about their health.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Or if it was McDonald's and half a dozen
       other places once a year?
       A. Then that would tell us that their diet is not
consuming very much fastfood, so that particular aspect
need not be a health issue for them. They may have other
       problems.

MR. RAMPTON: I would like you to look at one more document.
Again, I have to say that this is not yet finally proved,
so do not say that you accept it as it stands. I want to
ask you a question on the basis that it may turn out that
it is accurate. After the coloured charts, there is
another bunch of tables AF2. Can you turn those over?
The last table is Influence on Children on Visits and
Favourite Eating Place of Children. Do you see those
       ones?
       A. Yes.

  MR. MORRIS: Page number?

  THE WITNESS: Page 6.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is the last one before Exhibit 3.

MR. RAMPTON: Next after that you find AF3, or I hope you do,
       do you?
