Day 168 - 03 Oct 95 - Page 56

       sentence.
       A. About 15, I suppose 20 at the most, including the two
grill side freezers, yes, about 20, I would say.

  Q. Pieces of equipment?
       A. In the kitchen that would have to be unplugged and
       plugged back in.

  Q. What did you add then?
       A. If you include the two grill side freezers as well,
they would have to be unplugged and everything would have
to be plugged back in again and reset.

  Q. How long would all that take when you had to do that?
       A. About 10 minutes.

  Q. To?
       A. Unplug everything back in again, yes.

  Q. Press the button and plug everything back in again?
       A. That is right.

MR. MORRIS: You cannot remember ever calling out any firm to
fix a chicken vat that had a problem separate from the RCD
       problem that you had?
       A. I did not say that. What I said was it is impossible
for the gas -- you put to me the question that was the gas
to one particular chicken vat a problem and I said, no. I
have regularly called out service companies to service all
of the vats, but they would -- and those problems can be
       completely separate from the RCD.

  Q. Was there a problem with one particular chicken vat that
       required service?
       A. There was for a while a problem with the control board
on one of the particular chicken vats, yes.

  Q. Which led to it -- I do not know if the right word is
tripping out, but it led to it having -----
       A. Well, it led to the vat not being able to work, so that
particular vat out of the five was not working -- out of
the six, sorry, was not working.

  Q. Right. That was a particularly recurrent problem with that
       vat?
       A. It was.

  Q. Over a long period of time?
       A. Six to eight months.

  Q. Moving on to Jagon Flint -- sorry, let me check my notes on
the previous -- Michael Logan says in his statement that
regarding the chicken vats that this problem had lasted,
say, six to eight months. This was something that was
       recurring how often -- daily?
       A. Not daily. You might have a problem with the vat on,
       perhaps, a fortnightly basis.

  Q. He says here: "The vats were continually being repaired by
       service engineers approximately once every month or two";
