Day 072 - 12 Jan 95 - Page 40

out of that? Some time just before 11.00, half past 10 to
       11.00?
       A. I think that would be a good estimate, yes, sir, but
also people come into the area, into the Kings Road,
because there are a number of night clubs after the pubs
       close.

  Q. Cruising up and down the Kings Road, is that just Saturday
       nights?
       A. Generally, it is confined to the weekends and more in
the summer than the winter months.

  Q. When does that come to an end?
       A. The majority of it finishes probably 9.00, 10 o'clock.
I have seen it go on later but, on average, there are not
many cars in the road between 11.00 and 12 o'clock.

MS. STEEL: Can you just explain exactly what it is that you
are saying are company regulations with regards to environment/index.html">litter?
       A. Regulations? As I said before, we are committed to
complete a half hourly trash walk following a trash walk
map within, as I interpret it, a probable walking distance
of a customer with a take-away meal. We do not only pick
up McDonald's rubbish; we try to pick up -- we pick up all
       types of rubbish.

  Q. You said "following the trash walk map", that implies that
all stores have a trash walk map?
       A. Well, that is a company policy. I believe it is on the
       OCLs, as I explained before.

  Q. I have got the OCL for the dining area. These are in the
Defendants' documents. But, to make things easier, I have
actually photocopied the relevant page. I will hand them
       round. (Documents handed)

MR. JUSTICE BELL: These are the kind of documents Mr. Wignall
       refers to, are they?

MR. RAMPTON: I think so; I could not find it when I was looking
       for it this morning.

MS. STEEL (To the witness): Is this the OCL that you were
       referring to?
       A. I do not believe so, no.

  Q. It has got No. 13 under "cleanliness", front of store
maintained free of environment/index.html">litter and debris?
       A. I do not -- I think -- I do not know if this is an old
OCL but I do not recognise this to be the one that is in
       place at the moment.

  Q. It is for the dining area; would that be the right OCL to
       check?
       A. Not the one we currently use or the company currently
use. I do not believe this is the one. I am not 100 per
       cent sure.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think you are being asked, when it comes to
environment/index.html">litter near the restaurant but outside it, should we look
