Day 274 - 04 Jul 96 - Page 46
MS. STEEL: If I could just add to that, that in fact it was me
who asked for a subpoena to be issued and it was the
solicitors' mistake that Mr. Morris's name went on it in
the first place.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Let us wait and see. So many of these things
turn into matters which are not of great substance when we
come to them. All I am concerned with at the moment is,
since you do still want him to come, that you get it
fixed.

MS. STEEL: Yes.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, can I just make one enquiry through your
Lordship before we depart until Monday morning? For the
sake of my own preparation it would help me to know now,
not whether the defendants are going to give evidence but
which one, if they do, is going to go first.

MS. STEEL: I am giving evidence on Monday

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, very well.

MS. STEEL: And to that end can I just say that this is in
relation to the meeting that Alan Claire said I attended.
I have got a copy of a postcard, which I actually sent from
the Outer Hebrides about three or four days after that
meeting, which refers to me having been there for a week.
So if anybody wants that.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Let me have a copy of that.

MS. STEEL: I can bring the original to court if anybody wants
to see it.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What I will do is, I will put that behind
your statements in a pale blue volume. Unless there is
anything further we must deal with, we will adjourn until
10.30 on Monday morning. Hopefully, you will make some
progress on the matter that I spoke of this morning and
then go on to your evidence.

MS. STEEL: Yes, okay.
