Day 277 - 10 Jul 96 - Page 70

       A. We don't have the attachments.

  Q. No, we do not I am afraid, unless they are amongst
originals which you have inspected, but they are not
attached to this report. Are you willing to accept that
       that paragraph is accurate?
       A. It could be. But the A5 leaflet is also called "What
is wrong with MacDonald's?" and, bearing in mind that this
is August 1990, which was about 3 weeks before the writs
were served, it would be the A5 leaflets, if what she says
is correct. The "What is wrong with MacDonald's?" leaflets
were on the table because the fact sheets -- I do remember
that when the writs were served they had been out of stock
for quite a long time before then, far longer than a month,
       sort of several months.

  Q. I am actually asking about something completely different
       Ms. Steel?
       A. Are you?

  Q. How did those leaflets get to 6, Endsleigh Street?
       A. I couldn't tell you.

  Q. So, these leaflets would appear at Endsleigh Street
meetings as if by magic? You never had a hand in it and
you never saw anybody else do it; is that right?
       A. I have never taken leaflets from Caledonia Road to
       Endsleigh Street.

  Q. And you never saw anybody else do it?
       A. Well, I have never I have never gone to Caledonia Road
before going to a meeting at Endsleigh Street, so I could
not have seen anybody else do it, no.

  Q. How many --
       A. They may very well have carried them from Caledonia
Road. I have not seen it being done and I have not done it
       myself.

  Q. Well, Endsleigh Street was not a permanent base for the
group, so they cannot have been left there, can they? They
must have been brought through, must they not?
       A. There was a pigeon-hole there actually because, as I
said before, London Greenpeace used to have its office at
6, Endsleigh Street and it has still got mail there. In
fact, it has still not mail there right up to last year
when the Peace Pledge Union moved from the building.

  Q. How big is the pigeon-hole, Ms. Steel?
       A. I don't know really.

  Q. Big enough for --
       A. Big enough to -- I think it is the size of like one of
       these, the grey boxes.

  Q. One hole?
       A. Yes.

  Q. One slot?
       A. Yes.
