       office and spoke to Cam.

  Q. They returned to the office, so they were in the office
       earlier on?
       A. No, they were not at the store, as far as I knew. They
left early in the morning, I think it was 8 o'clock in the
morning. They were not in the office at all until they
came back and spoke to Cam.

  Q. The crew meeting on 5th October, which you say was a
staggering coincidence that it was held immediately after
       this weekend; is that correct?
       A. It was -- it was prearranged but it was an actual rap
session, crew meeting, the same thing. We have about three
or four rap sessions a year. This has been planned for
about two or three weeks before the thing went down the
Labour Board. We had notices up all over the store for it
before the union thing came out.

  Q. You said you agreed with what Sabina had said about the
meeting. She said: "Cam told us of the benefits and
advantages of working at McDonald's. He said it was up to
us to decide whether we wanted a union. He did not tell us
we should not join a union". Is that all that he said, it
was your right to join a union if you so wished?
       A. Sorry?

  Q. Is that what he said, that it is your right to join a union
and he would not interfere with that?
       A. He did not say he would interfere. He did not tell us
which way to vote. All he did was to tell all us about
McDonald's, about the benefits we have, and he did not tell
us not to -- he did not say: "Vote no". He did not
threaten us in any way or anything like that.

  Q. He said it was your right to join a union if you so wished
       though?
       A. Yes, he said if you -- he said he does not know who
signed the cards or who did not, but whoever did, he did
not care. He was not threatening anybody. He said: "If
you join a union, you join a union; if you do not, you do
not". He did not tell us which way to vote.

  Q. Did he say it was your right to join a union?
       A. I do not remember him saying those words exactly, no.

  Q. He did not make it clear what people's right were then?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Why should he?

  MR. MORRIS: I am asking.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I mean, there has been no suggestion that he
did, apart from the account she has given of the meeting.

  MR. MORRIS: Right.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You say you are just asking, but if you
suggest it, I have to try to keep up to speed and it sounds
to me as if you are suggesting he should have said: "It is
