Day 260 - 11 Jun 96 - Page 66

  Q. Right. If we just go on to 20th September. You say,
"I arrived at 5 Caledonian Road at 19.30 hours. Already
present were Helen Steel, Paul Gravett, New Zealand John
and Dave Morris. Shortly after, Charlie arrived followed
later by Shelley and Jan". Again, Shelley is Michelle
Hooker, who is the inquiry agent from Kings; yes?
       A. Yes.

  Q. And Jan is Frances Tiller, who is an inquiry agent from
       Kings?
       A. I do not know that for a fact. I know that she worked
for Kings; in what capacity I do not know. I believe she
       was an administrative assistant.

  Q. Yes, but she would not have been attending meetings of
London Greenpeace as an administrative assistant?
       A. I cannot say.

  Q. All right. But you were aware she was working for Kings,
       anyway?
       A. Not at the time.

  Q. You are aware now that Jan was working for Kings?
       A. I now know, yes.

  Q. "Later arrivals were Albert and Mike". It says in here
something about the banal discussions, but then it says,
"Most of the time was again taken up with talking about
the Greenpeace fayre and who was doing what at the event.
Mention was made of Andrew Clarke". Then you go on to say,
"At one point Shelley was called away by New Zealand John
to go upstairs and return with a message from Jonathan that
explained his absence from the meeting". Then you say in
brackets, "(This will presumably be covered in her
report)". Did you find out what it was that had been said
       that is related there?
       A. No.

  Q. Then it says, "Jan managed to volunteer to do the
children's creche at the fayre and to obtain Charlie's
contact number for liaison purposes". Then you say, "See
her report, I should imagine." So, actually, you did know
at this time that Jan was working as an inquiry agent?
       A. I did not know. I was guessing. I had never met her
       before or since.

  Q. I mean, I am not trying to attack you for this ---
       A. No.

  Q. -- but you have put "see her report". You know, looking
back on it, you must have known that she was an inquiry
       agent at this time?
       A. I may have had an idea, but I did not know because
I had never met her before.

  Q. But whether or not you had met her, you would have known
she worked at Kings because you might have referred to her
in a previous report and been told, "Jan is one of our
       agents"?
