Day 261 - 12 Jun 96 - Page 67

       A. If you are the speaker I was referring to.

  Q. The first paragraph on page 2, you said I spoke in very
general terms. That is what you remember; yes?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That is -----

MR. MORRIS: I am just trying to make the point that it is very
       general terms.
       A. That is -- well, that speaker may have been
Paul Gravett. I am not sure.

  Q. "You say the speaker from London Greenpeace was a man
       called Dave."

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is suggested that your reference in the
middle of the page to "the speaker from London Greenpeace"
is referring back to the same speaker in the first whole
paragraph, because that is a speaker from
       London Greenpeace. Do you understand?
       A. I do. But without reading it -- I am just trying to
read the statement, because I know Paul Gravett was
mentioned as someone representing London Greenpeace there,
       as well.

MR. MORRIS: Over the page, on page 1 ---
       A. I understand what you are saying, but ---

  Q. -- at the bottom?
       A. -- if you let me read it.

  Q. It says: "Paul Gravett introduced London Greenpeace"?
       A. I will read it, and then I can answer your question.

  Q. OK. (Pause)
       A. Yes. Reading through that now, I assume that speaker
to refer to you. It would appear to refer to you.

  Q. So, I have a kind of vague recollection of this day. If
I put to you this is what happened. The meeting was a
contrast between the philosophical and strategic views of
the Green Party, who wanted of course to get elected, and
London Greenpeace, who have a more, if you like,
fundamentalist approach, or something; and I was
representing that philosophical approach. But when it came
to the actual details of what London Greenpeace was doing
and the campaigns it was involved in, Paul Gravett was
       likely to talk about that?
       A. That is in accord with how I remember it, yes.

MR. MORRIS: Thank you very much.

MS. STEEL: If we move on to 2nd November?

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Page 22.

MS. STEEL: This is a meeting at 5 Caledonian Road. The door
was answered by Andrew, and inside were Jane and me. You
       then go on to say:
