Day 262 - 13 Jun 96 - Page 12

       one occasion.

  Q. Then, at the bottom, you say: "Charlie, who had taken a
large part in the organisation of the anti-McDonald's fair,
I discovered to have a home telephone number of", and so
       on.

So, are you referring there to your recollection of the
fair in 1989 that you attended, where you mentioned that it
was Paul and Charlie that were basically organising the
fair and running the whole show?
       A. I do not know. I do not know when I made this note.
I do not know whether something was said at the meeting or
whether I was referring back to what I had observed.

  Q. OK. You would confirm that as your impression, at least
       during that meeting?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Incidentally, where it says that it was said that the
person who wrote the original leaflet is no longer with the
group, do you recollect how that came up?
       A. I do not recollect, no, no.

  Q. Might that have been during the course of one of these kind
of background giving -- I cannot think of the word --
I described yesterday where, if there was somebody new at
the meeting, for example, you were fairly new ---
       A. I remember.

  Q. -- then background would be given as to how the campaign
       came about?
       A. I do not recall but, given the context of Paul talking
about writing a new pamphlet, it may have been asked if any
anybody knew who had written the original pamphlet. I may
have asked that, I do not know, or it may have come up in
what he was saying. I do not remember.

  Q. OK. Incidentally, on the following page, you have the home
address of John, which you have found out, who had been
with the group for three years and was employed by a
kitchen fitting company. Do you remember that?
       A. Well, I can see it. I do not remember it. I can see
       it.

  Q. Then 29th November; this is where you were answering
letters with John and Andrew from 10.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.
in the Caledonian Road office. At the bottom of the third
paragraph, you said that in many of the replies a copy of
the leaflet "What's wrong with McDonald's?" was included.
You did not make a note of which particular one it was, but
if you turn to your third statement, please, which should
be in tab 7C -- have you got that statement?
       A. I have, yes.

  Q. If you turn to paragraph 20, please, you say:

"As I have stated in paragraph 19 of my statement,
anti-McDonald's leaflets were, almost without exception,
incorporated into the group's response to letters
