Day 248 - 13 May 96 - Page 08

       A. I would like more people to eat at McDonald's,
       absolutely.

  Q. Right. When you talk about creating job opportunities, the
reality is that your business employs less people for the
amount of volume it does than traditional food sellers,
street vendors, and so on; is that correct?
       A. No, I would not accept that.

  Q. And that in reality when you expand it basically means that
other people get put out of their jobs and lose their jobs?
       A. I do not accept that at all.

  Q. It says in here that in 1995 advertising and promotion
expenditure worldwide was 1.8 billion dollars; is that
       correct?
       A. I have no reason to doubt it.

  Q. Right.

MR. MORRIS: Just one question I have to ask on this document,
I have not got it in front of me, it is page 31?
       A. OK, about pictures?

  Q. Yes. This is relevant to the reliability of McDonald's own
documentation, the first two frames that, as you probably
notice, have been faked because the cars are in the same
position one and a half hours later?
       A. You are looking at 7.30 a.m and 9.00 a.m?

  Q. That is correct.
       A. I am sorry, I have quite different pictures. I do not
know what you are looking at.

  Q. Have a look closely. All the cars in the north of the
picture are in identical positions. For example, Post
Office lorry and the van and all the cars further, if you
like, north of the picture to them. So, that picture must
       have been faked?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Sorry, I think I am...

MR. MORRIS: The construction of the McDonald's store.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. You mean the ones on the other side of
the junction are because the ones this side are not exactly
       the same?

  MR. MORRIS: That is correct.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Some of them are and some of them are not.

MR. MORRIS: Yes. Do you know anything about that?
       A. I did not take the pictures, but no.

  Q. They are clearly faked are they not?
       A. No, they are not, not to me they are not.

  Q. Do you mean to say that it is likely that all the cars
remain in the same position for one and a half hours north
