Day 238 - 22 Apr 96 - Page 07
Watson, please?
A. I have got it.

MR. MORRIS: If you can put that in front of you.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Have you got divider L?
A. I have got all the evidence, the supporting testimony,
but I have not got my actual statement.

Q. Can you bring to it me, please?
A. I have got it. I have found it.

MR. MORRIS: Have you got two statements there, the first one a
statement on the impacts of Cattle Ranching on Indigenous
Peoples in Brazil, February 1996?
A. Yes.

Q. And the second one Cattle Ranching on Indigenous Peoples,
Mato Grosso do Sul?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That might be right at the back of your
section.

MR. MORRIS: April, 1996?
A. No, I have not got the second one.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Mr. Reilly, can you bring me the bundle,
please. (Same handed).

It bears absolutely no resemblance to mine. For a start,
it is in divider 9, and then all that is in there is the
very first statement from Miss Watson. What I have done
is, as other things have come, including the fax from NVI,
and then last week the Survival further statement headed
"Cattle Ranching in Indigenous Peoples", I have put them
in the same section.

MR. RAMPTON: That is what I did. I do not know where the
original -- it may be that the second statement -- I do not
know, this is pure guesswork -- is with the documents, but
where the documents are, I do not know. It is not there.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I am going to rise for 10 minutes. It has to
be sorted out.

MR. RAMPTON: Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is not really Mrs. Brinley-Codd's
responsibility. It is not your witness.

(Short adjournment)

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes?

MR. MORRIS: I am sorry about that. It is a bit chaotic. I
hope the bundles are the same, the documentation, even if
it is not necessarily in the same order.

(To the witness): Do you have in front of you your two
statements now?
