  Q. Yes.
       A. Yes, well, you make enough stock for the Christmas
       sales.

  Q. Is it right that at the time, around 1990/1991, there was
no record kept of which batches got sent to which stores?
       A. No, that is not correct.

  Q. Can you read the fifth paragraph?
       A. Yes, I have read it.

  Q. Sorry?
       A. I have read it.

  Q. Is that correct or not?
       A. No, that is talking about distribution; it is not
       talking about McKey.

  Q. So, is it correct if it is talking about distribution
       then?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you want to take it in two parts, because
there is a part about the build up of stock which is one
thing, and then there is a second part of the paragraph.
Do you remember, you asked the other day about whether
there was a record of where things had come from and gone
to, of that kind? What I suggest is you take the first
half of the paragraph. (To the witness): Do you disagree
       with that, Mr. Walker?
       A. No, sir.

  Q. Do you say that is talking not about McKey holding stocks
but about stocks which had already gone out and held or you
       think it is?
       A. No, excuse me, my Lord. I read that, that whoever
wrote this report says there is no record in Preston of the
       boxes received.

  Q. We have not come to that yet; we are just talking of the
       first part of the paragraph.
       A. In meat that we produce with a code on the box, we know
where that meat came from and ------

  Q. I am sorry. Just listen, if you do not mind. I have only
got down to "as quickly as usual" yet, I have not got on to
       the second half and tracing.
       A. Are you referring to the fifth paragraph still, sir?

  Q. Yes. It starts: "During the meeting of the Department of
       Health on 1st February 1991".
       A. I am sorry, sir, I do not know. I am reading
       page -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You said something a moment ago which led me
to believe that you were joining issue with that paragraph
on the basis that if stock had been built up beforehand it
had been built up somewhere outside McKey's?
       A. No, sir. What my point, sir, was that when you produce
the burgers and they are frozen and, therefore, held at
minus 20 degrees Centigrade, they are perfectly and
