Day 037 - 14 Oct 94 - Page 80
MR. RAMPTON: I almost think ----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Doing the best you can?

MR. RAMPTON: Doing the best I can, as the lawyers say, yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: But we do not have a witness for Monday.

MR. RAMPTON: I do not, no.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You do not have a witness for Monday?

MR. MORRIS: No.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: We will resume at 10.30 on Tuesday morning.

MR. RAMPTON: There is one other thing. I have here the
article by Dr. Willett that Mr. Cox produced from his
brief case. Now that Mr. Atkinson has had a chance to
read it, I think I shall want to make reference to it in
my closing submissions, or may do. What I would ask is,
Mr. Cox would let us have it to copy it, then give it back
to the Defendants so they can give it back to him. But it
may not been convenient, in which case he should be asked
now.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can we do that, Mr. Cox?

THE WITNESS: Yes.

MR. RAMPTON: Thank you very much.

MR. MORRIS: I do not know of the significance of that.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Get in touch with Professor Crawford as soon
as you can, and if there is any difficulty let
Mrs. Brinley-Codd or Mr. Hill know immediately and
telephone Mr. Styles, whose number I think you have, and
let him know.

MS. STEEL: He sent us some papers that were referred to and
some other ones as well, which I gave to the Plaintiffs
this afternoon. I do not know what the situation is. We
have not spoken to him about them, but because they are
new papers are we allowed to speak to him about them or
not?

MR. RAMPTON: I have no objection.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Certainly you can.

MS. STEEL: Thank you.
