that you attended, did you ever have a notebook with you in
       the meetings?
       A. Not that I recall, no, sir.

  Q. And how far away from the meeting would your car be parked?
       A. Five minute walking distance.

  Q. About a five minute walk away. When you left the meeting
you would always tell the meeting that you had to go and
catch your train back to Catford?
       A. Yes, probably. I cannot recall. We would have left
when the meeting was terminated, sir.

  Q. Right, but you never said to anyone that you were going
       back to your car?
       A. No. Probably not.

  Q. Nor can you actually remember what you said when you left
       the meeting?
       A. No, I can't, sir.

MS. STEEL: Can you recollect what you told the group about who
you were and where your were from and who your interest
       was?
       A. I can recall I was Allan from Catford. As to
       occupation or -- I cannot recall. Perhaps, I say I was a
       student. I don't recall.

MR. MORRIS: So -- sorry. If you left a meeting, you would
presumably have said the same thing each time?
       A. Well, no, not necessarily.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If you said anything at all?
       A. If I said anything at all.

  Q. You were prepared to accept that you probably on occasions
said you were catching a train. You had to go and catch a
train back to Catford, but you really cannot remember what
       on occasions you would say?
       A. I probably would have said that on occasion, sir.

MR. MORRIS: You just cannot remember what you said?
       A. No, I cannot.

MS. STEEL: So you went back to your car which was five minutes
       walk away?
       A. Or thereabouts.

  Q. Yes. And then what? You made the notes immediately or you
drove back to your office or?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What he has said so far is that he either
made them in the car or drove a couple of miles and then
       made them in the car?
       A. That is correct, sir.

  Q. That was his evidence in-chief.

MS. STEEL: Yes, but we are allowed to test it.
