MS. STEEL: That was, I think, because the witness said he did
not have the numbers of people which we were originally
       asking for.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well, I mean...

MS. STEEL: It turns out that it does.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If you are asking for the actual figures,
I will deal with that question. But what I would like you
to do is, if there are other things which you need to ask
Mr. Fairgrieve anyway ask him about those, and then we will
       see where we are.

MS. STEEL: Yes. I think it would make life a lot easier if we
did have the raw data but I will carry on for now anyway.

MR. RAMPTON: I have to say I do not agree with that, Ms. Steel
is trying to make a case which you ruled over.

MS. STEEL: I do not see how he can disagree, it is only that
people can do their own calculations.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I will deal with this as a formal application
for discovery. But I think you ought to
-- who has that those hard copies?
       A. The raw data is in computer disk format and is
contained at a computer at Taylor Nelson.

  Q. But are there any hard copies tables so far as you know
that McDonald's actually had which would show what
proportion of the 60,000 actually do eat out during the
       year?
       A. The data, no, we do not receive the data reported in
table format, we receive the data reported in exactly the
format we have submitted in AF1 and 2; we have no use for
       it.

  Q. Who do you receive that from?
       A. We receive that via our advertising agency.

  Q. They send it to you?
       A. From Taylor Nelson, yes.

  Q. Does it come in that form from Taylor Nelson?
       A. The advertising agency receives the data in the AF1, 2,
format from Taylor Nelson, they add an interpretation to it
and then send it on to us and we report it to our
       management.

  Q. Just pause a moment. What I put, in case there is an
argument about it, the advertising agency receive the
information in AF1 and AF2 form from Taylor Nelson, who
keep the data from which AF1 and 2 are made. The
advertising agency add an interpretation and send AF1 and 2
to McDonald's, the basic data is on hard disk at Taylor
       Nelson?
       A. That is correct, yes.
