Day 272 - 02 Jul 96 - Page 68
A. It is, yes.

Q. What about the one on top? "Plants, ponds, pollution
environment/index.html">litter recycling, energy," that is something to do with
something else?
A. That is completely different and it had been stuck over
them, the poster for 1988 anti-McDonald's fayre.

MR. RAMPTON: Then if you look at photograph 25, Mr. Gravett?
A. Yes.

Q. At the bottom of the door that is an anti-McDonald's
poster, is it not?
A. Yes.

Q. And behind the chair on the right-hand bottom corner there
is another one, is there not?
A. Yes there is, yes and there is also one for the IMF
world bank demmo, higher up on the wall.

Q. Mr. Gravett, please do not be misled what about you might
have been told about this case. There is no dispute that
the group had other interests, at any rate by 1990, besides
McDonald's. You said something this morning, I do not want
you to be misled by. You said and these are not your exact
words, but to this effect: The idea was that in 1990 the
name of the fayre would be changed from the anti-McDonald's
fayre to the London Greenpeace fayre because people in the
group or some people in the group wanted to get away from
being seen as a single issue anti-McDonald's group." Is
that right?
A. Yes.

Q. Is it fair to suggest that until 1990, sometime in 1990,
McDonald's was the main or one of the main targets of the
group's activities?
A. It was one of the main campaigns, but there were other
campaigns and there were people in the group that took no
part in the McDonald's campaign.

Q. But the 19--
A. From October 1989 to October 1990 there was nothing
organised by this group against McDonald's. That is a
whole year.

Q. Though, if you have read the notes, you will notice there
was quite a lot of talk about it at the meetings?
A. Some meetings. Well, according to the spies' notes,
some meetings there was none at all.

Q. I want you to help me with 1989 now, Mr. Gravett.

MR. MORRIS: Can we leave the photographs now?

MR. RAMPTON: Yes. As far as I am concerned. Can you take up
the pink file 1A please?
A. 1A, yes.

Q. Yes and turn to tab 60A. Does the first page look like
that? Has it got Hackney and Islington Animal Rights Group
