Day 161 - 24 Jul 95 - Page 39
Q. So they felt a bit inhibited?
A. I think so. That is my opinion.

Q. But were they inhibited in terms of expressing their
complaints in what was shown, do you think?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: At the moment, I am minded -- whatever one
says about the rest of the film, I do get the feeling that
a number of them were very conscious of the camera. You
are going to call witnesses who may well mention rap
sessions and what goes on.

MR. MORRIS: Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If one is doing something busily, one may
forget a camera, but I got the impression that they were
very conscious of it. The evidence I have heard so far is
pretty consistent, that the sort of questions which were
asked are pretty typical, that some of the answers are
pretty typical, but that it was all rather stilted.

MR. MORRIS: (To the witness) Would you say that then,
Miss Anteneh, that the questions and the answers were
fairly typical, even if it was a bit inhibited?
A. Yes, I would say so.

Q. Was there anything said at that rap session which, in your
experience as the Manager at the time, sounded unreal or
made up just for the cameras, or was it fairly genuinely
held views?
A. Yes, that is genuine. I would expect it to be more of
that, but no; that was genuine.

MR. MORRIS: Can we carry on, please? Thank you.

(Video film continued to be played)

MISS STEEL: This is the Strand, is it not?
A. That is correct.

(Video film continued to be played)

MR. MORRIS: Is this the Strand?
A. Yes, it is.

Q. Is this still the Strand?
A. Yes.

Q. Thank you. Could you stop it, please? That is the
filtering of the fat, is it?
A. It is not.

Q. It is not? That is the waste fat, is it?
A. It is the waste fat, yes. It is not fat from the
friers -- from the grills.

Q. From the grills. OK, thank you. Is this the fat
filtering?
A. That is correct.
