Day 207 - 23 Jan 96 - Page 73
A. It is possible, yes.

Q. Do people say that kind of thing?
A. I do have people, Jason Dixon being one in question.

Q. Suppose then they came and said: "Well, actually I do not
want all of those seven, I only want five", what would be
your attitude?
A. We would alter it for them.

Q. Would there ever come a time, take somebody like Jason
Dixon, who you tell us in your statement was keen to work
as many hours as God has given us on earth, in effect, when
you said to him: "Look, you cannot actually have all the
hours that you want"?
A. I cannot remember a time when we have not accommodated
him.

Q. When you could not accommodate him?
A. When I could not accommodate him.

Q. One final thing which has just occurred to me, Mr. Morris
or Ms. Steel -- I cannot remember which -- was asking you
about one of the rap session notes which indicated that one
of the reasons that people who attended that rap session
thought that people left McDonald's for was because there
was too much pressure, or words to that effect. Do you
remember that?
A. I remember the question.

Q. Are you conscious that, so far as your experience goes and
so far as you can tell, people do from time to time leave
the restaurant after working there because they do not like
it?
A. They do.

Q. Can I ask you if you have any impression over a period of
time at what sort of stage that tends to happen, if it
indeed it happens at any particular stage?
A. It tends to be typically within the first nought to
four weeks.

Q. Yes.
A. In the early stages.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, those are all the questions that I ask.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, thank you. (To the witness): Thank
you, Mr. Henden. We will resume at 10.30.

(The witness withdrew)

(The court adjourned until 10.30 the following day)
