responsibility.

Q. Right. What are the main grievances that come out?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you want to ask whether Mr. Stanton sees
notes of RAP sessions now?

MR. MORRIS: Do you still see RAP session notes?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is just an example of how much detail he
needs to go into in his present job. What is the answer to
that?
A. I will not see every single RAP session that is done,
but usually what I will do ----

Q. No, of course you could not do that or you would be doing
all the jobs of all your area supervisors and everyone up
to you, but do you look at them at all?
A. Yes, I do.

MR. MORRIS: So you keep yourself on the path?
A. I try to keep myself fairly up.

Q. What are the main grievances that staff raise about their
conditions of work?
A. I would say the main comments they have, I would not
say that they are grievous criticisms. I suppose,
primarily, they will talk about maintenance and repair in
the restaurant. But a lot of these are down to sort of
individual restaurants. I cannot say that one trait
amongst the RAP sessions that I see stands out.

Q. Can you give us some other category of complaints and
grievances that come out of RAP sessions apart from
maintenance and repair?
A. Maintenance and repair were not complaints. The
observations -- if I was to deduce from the amount or the
phrasing of the RAP sessions, then crew have most things to
say, most comment upon maintenance and repair, on the
equipment; stuff that they do their everyday day job with.
So I would not say they are complaining about it. They may
suggest, for example, that we look at a new procedure in
the store; we could maybe buy some more bun spatulas. They
are rather sort of minor references to improve, but to
suggest they are grievous complaints about dilapidated
restaurants and equipment I think is breaching it slightly
too far.

Q. What else, apart from maintenance and repair though, that
would come under however you categorise it as complaints or
grievances or, you know, criticisms?
A. They are asked to comment on a whole multitude of
different areas.

Q. I am trying to find out what other areas you have noticed
in all your long experience that crew members are
complaining about doing in some way?
A. In that case, if you are asking me to which they
specifically complain about I have never seen one area they
specifically complain about; they do not complain about M
