Day 138 - 20 Jun 95 - Page 79
sometime. Then they can make such use of them as they wish
thereafter. I hope that is all right. I do not know which
one is which even at the moment.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you want to say anything about the tape,
first of all?

MR. MORRIS: As far as the tapes, we will leave it up to
yourself to decide what the best procedure is.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think what I will do is I will wait and see
what you ask about that, then we can -----

MR. MORRIS: We will have to see them first, obviously -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Sorry?

MR. MORRIS: We will have to see the tapes first before we come
on to the Mexican subject because, obviously, it is
evidence.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: How can we arrange about that?

MR. RAMPTON: It is easy enough, my Lord.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: How long is the film, first of all?

MR. RAMPTON: I think it is very short, 16 minutes. I do not
know, my Lord. I am bound to say something wrong if
I speak without having even seen it.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What I suggest is it can be inspected at
Barlows but it could probably be brought along here and
shown. If it is really only a quarter of an hour, I will
not look at it but the Defendants can see it shown here.

MR. RAMPTON: Yes, of course they can. I am quite willing to
hand a copy over tomorrow. It is just I do not want to
lose it today because I want to see it myself. That is
all.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What I suggest is leave Mexico City for the
time being until you have either seen a copy of the film
here or been lent a copy to take home to play on your own
or a friend's video recorder. Then we will take that up
again, but when you have actually seen the film then
I would ask you to come in due course to your
cross-examination about the Mexico City matter. When
I have heard what you have put and what you have
challenged, we can come back and I can offer a view on
whether it is really productive to see the film, or whether
the oral evidence I have heard is enough to reach a
conclusion, if it matters.

MR. MORRIS: I mean, basically, I think once we get copies
tomorrow, we will look at them tomorrow evening.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. We will come back to it after you have
had an opportunity to see the film. I just want to ask one
or two questions before I ask you about cross-examination.
