Day 192 - 27 Nov 95 - Page 45

       A. I was ignored by management; management would not say
here or there to me, because, obviously, they could not or
else, you know, it would look like they were harassing me
because of union activity. But, for a while, after the
vote, it was OK. Probably a couple of months it was all
right, and then it started to take a turn for the worse
again. Like, management did not care quite as much.

  Q. You are talking about sort of general ---
       A. General atmosphere.

  Q. -- for the employees in general?
       A. Yes, yes.

  Q. Did you ever get any problems about conditions of your
       work?
       A. I am sorry?

  Q. Did you ever get any problems, yourself, about conditions
       for you, wages or anything?
       A. I do not understand what you are getting at.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think you have to leave it there.

MR. MORRIS: There was a specific thing, which is about -- did
       you get any pay reviews?
       A. Afterwards, yes, I did. After the vote, I got a pay
review. I think it was done by Patty Galbraith. She told
me that I did not take enough initiative and that I did not
have enough leadership skills. After the whole union
drive, it was kind of ironic.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Who was it done by?
       A. I believe it was done by Patty Galbraith. She was a
Store Manager. She is married now, so I think her last
       name has changed.

MR. MORRIS: What did that mean in terms of an increase in pay,
       this pay review?
       A. I do not remember if I got one or not. But, I mean,
obviously, because I did not have leadership skills (so
they thought) or initiative, I was not as highly rated as
       I could have been.

MR. MORRIS: Is it possible to have a five-minute break? We
have finished with the statements. I want to look through
statements of Wetli and Iurillo to remind myself of what
       their obligations are.

                         (Short Adjournment)

MR. MORRIS: (To the witness): Regarding the statement of
Sabina Iurillo -- in fact, I suppose it might be useful to
have a copy. I do not know exactly what numbering it is.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Why do you not just put quite shortly the
point which Miss Iurillo, or Miss Wetli for that matter,
made in evidence which you want your witness's response
       to?
