Day 166 - 28 Sep 95 - Page 63

  Q. Yes, how many people would do it and how long would they
take to do it, do you think?
       A. Probably a couple of people, it would not take them, I
do not know 10, 15 minutes. They are going to pass boxes
to each other, they are going to move them from one side of
the freezer room to the other.

  Q. How long to do a delivery?
       A. The deliveries may vary in size, but with the fact that
I was able to increase the number of freezers in the store,
I positioned another freezer upstairs, which meant that you
could rotate it, if you like, or put it upstairs and the
new stuff that comes in would go downstairs. That
shortened the length of time from everything point of view,
not just from, like, somebody being in a freezer, but also
from the point of view of stock possibly outside that might
       get -----

  Q. I understand that, but what is the maximum sort of time
someone might be carrying stuff into a freezer on a
       delivery?
       A. Well, it would go into the lift. The lift would go
downstairs and then that would be transferred into the
freezer and, therefore, it would go back upstairs and the
       next one would come down.

  Q. And then you would go down for another load, would you,
yes, but how long would you be in the freezer at a time for
if you were doing a delivery?
       A. Very short periods because you are in and out.

  Q. How long do you mean by that?
       A. You are taking boxes in that you can carry.

  Q. Just a minute or two or longer?
       A. Not even that. Once your stock rotation is done, you
are then, like, just taking your new boxes in and putting
       it in.

MR. MORRIS: How long would the actual delivery take overall to
get all the stuff off the struck and into the freezer?
       A. It would vary as to the number of cages that you had
       delivered.

  Q. Vary between what and that?
       A. I would like to think that was all done within about 45
       minutes.

  Q. And sometimes two people worked on that job?
       A. More than two.

  Q. More than two?
       A. More than two -- two would do, like, a rotation and
then you would have somebody up with the goods upstairs to
make sure that nothing was, from the theft point of view,
if you like, was, you know, people walking past, before
everything was put towards the back and then into the lift
       and downstairs.

MS. STEEL: Do you know how many scheduled hours there were per
