Day 019 - 27 Jul 94 - Page 64
1 A. Not long before I did it. I visited them in April
1993 for the purposes of this report.
2
Q. Yes.
3 A. Yes. To the best of my knowledge, it was within that
year I was asked to go to Sun Valley and to do a report.
4
Q. Do you remember whether it was before or after you visited
5 in February?
A. Did I go in February? I would suspect, I think it is
6 after, if the February trip was the one where we have a
report on the quality aspect.
7
Q. On the slaughter line, you did a report on that?
8 A. That is right. If my memory serves me right, it is
after.
9
Q. On the report -----
10
MR. JUSTICE BELL: You visited the plant on 19th April 1992?
11 A. Yes.
12 MR. MORRIS: 1993.
13 MR. JUSTICE BELL: 1993, sorry, yes. Did you go from the

14 A. Yes, I did. I went to the slaughter plant but
Ms. Steel, I think, is referring to a previous visit.
15
MS. STEEL: Yes. I think it is the one at tab B, the report

17 MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.
18 MS. STEEL: Going back to your visit in April, do you have a
record of the time span from stunning until when the neck
19 was cut?
A. Is it not in the report?
20
Q. I do not think so, no.
21 A. I do not have a record of it if it is not in the
report. No, but it is within -- it was within normal
22 practice. Normal practice is averaged at 21 seconds, and
it was around that time.
23
Q. You did not make a note of it at the time?
24 A. I am surprised I did not because it is something that
is usually done as an automatic procedure. If it was it
25 would be in my notes and it was not transferred to the
report.
26
Q. Do you still have your notes?
27 A. I do not know.
28 Q. I suppose you are not going to go back tonight but it
would be helpful.
29 A. I can picture the line. It is going around the 20
second mark, probably a little bit less.
30
Q. Do you know the time span from when the chickens have
