Day 209 - 25 Jan 96 - Page 77

because he used to be at Manchester University and I was at
Bath College of Higher Education and we both started
working full-time at the beginning of the summer, and we
both used to do very similar shifts, 12 closes, five or six
       days a week.

  Q. This is pre-1992, is it?
       A. I think so, yes, it must be, yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: He was a local boy, was he?
       A. Yes, he came from Bath himself.

MR. RAMPTON: And Shelley Smith, you are sure this is 1994?
When did she start, can anybody remember?
       A. I am sure it is 1994.

  Q. You think it is 1994?
       A. Yes.

  Q. That is just the same problem about her not getting her PRs
       on time?
       A. Right, yes.

  Q. The same with Mr. Flint, yes?
       A. Well, Jagon with PR problems I would say it was, you
know, since he started in the store.

  Q. That is because you have had a chance to look at the file,
       I expect. Is that right?
       A. No. I said 1994 because Mr. Morris was asking me what
dates, and I was trying to remember what time and I do
remember an incident where he complained and that would be
when Dave Wynne became the new Store Manager and that was
when he got his PRs updated. So it will be -- the period
before then would be where his were most out of date, so
       that would probably be '93/94.

  Q. I am going to ask you one question about Mr. Wynne before
we depart, Mr. Logan, in a moment. Finally, Matthew Tilly,
I do not have a date for his PR problems. Are they, do you
       say, continuous?
       A. Yes. Again, it would be over the period he was
       employed at McDonald's.

  Q. One question about Mr. David Wynne, who was the Store
Manager from July 1993 until the beginning of February
1994, you told us this morning that the practice of
pre-dating blank PR forms and putting them in the pocket
was started by him; is that right?
       A. I am not sure it was started by him, but it was made
most apparent when he was the Store Manager. It was used
most effectively, I would say, for the audits.

MR. RAMPTON: That is all for the moment.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, thank you.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, have I got this right, is it Brazil
tomorrow morning and then Mr. Morris' teeth in the
       afternoon?
