Day 263 - 14 Jun 96 - Page 48

  Q. You named Paul Gravett, Helen Steel, Dave Morris, Jane,
Andrew Clarke. That was put to you again by Mr. Morris in
cross-examination, and he added, "And there were some other
regulars, what you call regulars", and you said, "Yes."

Then Mr. Morris put this question to you: "The people that
only attended a handful of meetings or less than a handful
of meetings while you were going, in that period you were
going, they would not have been able to have any influence
on what was going on generally; do you agree with that",
and your answer was: "No, I do not agree with that. I am
       not quite sure what you mean by 'handful' to begin with;
but, secondly, there were obviously some people who had had
an association with the group for a long time and whose
views were respected, and those people were generally
       listened to should they attend."

Can I ask you whether you are able, at this distance of
time, to say who you meant by such people?
       A. Mr. Morris would be an example of one of those people
whose attendances were less frequent but whose opinion was
       obviously valued in the group.

  MR. RAMPTON: Thank you.

MS. STEEL: I have just realised I forgot to ask a question.
Is it possible to ask it.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. Let Mr. Rampton finish.

MR. RAMPTON: That is all, my Lord.

                Further cross-examined by the Defendants

MS. STEEL: (To the witness) You worked out of Kings offices
itself, rather than being freelance, so you would have
known Frances Tiller who was working there as a personal
assistant to the managing director; yes?
       A. She was there, yes, towards the end of my time there.

  Q. Do you recollect her attending any of the meetings which
       you attended?
       A. No, I do not.

  MS. STEEL: Thank you.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. Thank you, Mr. Pocklington.

                        (The witness withdrew)

                          JACK RUSSELL, sworn
                     Examined by MR. RAMPTON Q.C.

MR. RAMPTON: Mr. Russell, are your full names Jack Russell?
       A. That is correct, yes.

  Q. Mr. Riley, could you see that volume yellow 2 is there for
       Mr. Russell, please?
