  Q. You see, what I am driving at, Mrs. French, is this: How
well, looking back now ten years or so, do you think you
knew the conditions in the individual stores?
       A. When I visited the stores I could make assessments on
what was happening within the stores at that point in time,
       yes.

  Q. How often would you visit an individual store during the
       course of a year?
       A. At least a minimum of 12. If it was a very well run
store, then I would only visit it on average once a month
       and I would ----

  Q. Once a month?
       A. Yes, and I would target on stores that were average to
       below average visiting more frequently.

  Q. You told us that, as far as your recollection is concerned,
       Ealing was average to good?
       A. Yes.

  Q. So you would have visited Ealing perhaps 12 times in that
first year, do you think, or not?
       A. I would have visited West Ealing at least 12 times but
probably a lot more because I had less responsibilities at
       that time.

  Q. Would you read the notes of rap sessions as they came in?
       A. As they came into the office, yes, I would definitely
       read the notes.

  Q. When you went on a store visit would you speak to people in
       the store?
       A. I would work directly with some of the crew, some of
the managers and talk to them on a one to one basis within
the environment of the store, yes.

  Q. Would you see the Manager outside, on occasions outside
your visits to the store, or not?
       A. I would see not only the Manager outside the store but
I would also see some of the crew because at Christmas and
different times of the year we would have either managers'
dinners or crew parties which we would all attend so that
we got to know each other socially as well as
       professionally.

  Q. Did you take your job seriously?
       A. Very seriously.

  Q. Then I ask you this: You have read Mr. Cranna's statement?
       A. Yes, I have.

  Q. If the conditions in the West Ealing store were as he
describes, do you think that that would have come to your
       attention or not?
       A. I have no doubt that it would have come to my attention
because with the experience and the amount of time I have
spent with McDonald's, if there is a problem in any
particular store for a period of time, the Manager and the
