Day 260 - 11 Jun 96 - Page 21

"One person made the comment that Dave Morris and Helen
Steel, the signatories to the bank account, had not been to
       a meeting for some time."

The person you are referring to in the statement is
       Anthony?
       A. I would assume so.

  Q. From the notes; and that is Mr. Pocklington who is in court
       now?
       A. As far as I am aware, yes.

  Q. So, if Mr. Pocklington -- what you have got there in your
notes was based on what you understood Mr. Pocklington to
       be saying?
       A. Yes.

  Q. So, if he said something slightly different, it is more
likely that he has got it right?
       A. I cannot say on that one.

  Q. For example, in his statement he mentions that it is
Paul Gravett who has got the book, and I said something
about -- I cannot remember what it is, actually, offhand --
but Dave Morris is not actually mentioned in respect of
that. Would you have a problem with accepting that?
       A. I can only repeat that that is my understanding of what
       was said at the time.

  Q. That was your recollection ---
       A. Yes.

  Q. -- of what was said at the time?
       A. Yes.

  Q. In the next paragraph, you say:

"At the end of this phase of the meeting, Helen, she of the
bank account, arrived, with a specific request from Dave
that she be told what was going to happen at the public
meeting next week, and the whole matter was discussed yet
       again."

I have got two questions on that. When you say "a specific
request that she be told what was going to happen at the
public meeting next week", would you accept that it was
just a statement to say "Dave wants to know what is going
       on next week"?
       A. Yes.

  Q. When you say "so the whole matter was discussed yet again",
there is actually nothing in your notes about the matter
being discussed previously. So, is that correct?
       A. I am sorry, I do not quite understand. I say: "As a
result of being told the content of the proposed meeting,
discussion of the difference between anarchism and
socialism, she telephoned Dave." Well, that had previously
       been mentioned, of course.

  Q. No, no, the sentence before, after I arrived ---
