       McKey's plants in Milton Keynes?
       A. Yes, I have.

  Q. Are the practices and procedures which you have said there
at the McKey's plant satisfactory to you?
       A. Yes, they do.

  Q. So in all significant respects, would the situation be
roughly the same in America as in the McKey's plant in the
       UK?
       A. In terms of suppliers?

  Q. No, in terms of we are talking about mainly about hygiene
and contamination issues, bacterial matters, checks and
procedures to deal with a certain possible risk of food
poisoning, and all that kind of stuff. Is the McKey's
plants, in your opinion, you know, a model of a good
       quality plant?
       A. Yes, I would put them there.

  Q. Are the same checks and procedures generally followed in
all important respects the same as in the US ---
       A. No.

  Q. -- hamburger supply plants?
       A. Not necessarily, no. What we look for is a quality
assurance, a quality assurance programme. We do not
describe in detail what they should test for, how they
should test for. All we describe is that they should be
approved by McDonald's. That could be McDonald's UK or
McDonald's Corporation. And the programme is what
specifications it has in the programme is in consultation
with Quality Assurance department that it developed.

  Q. So what are you saying? Are you saying that you may
generally approve -- how many beef products supply plants
do you have in the USA, actual plants?
       A. Five.

  Q. Five. I think we have got the names of them somewhere.
Can you just say what they are?
       A. Yes, OSI, OSI Industries; Keystone Foods; PABST; Normac
and Golden State Foods. The OSI Industry has two plants.

  Q. The abattoirs that supply them, I mean, do each of those
take from dozens of abattoirs around those regions where
       they are based?
       A. Dozens, each one probably it is little higher number.
We use, say, if you combine these five companies, we use
about 50 to 70 different suppliers.

  Q. For each of those?
       A. No, no, total for the five suppliers, so.

  Q. So you have about 70 abattoirs, 60, 70 abattoirs?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. That supply those plants?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: For the whole five altogether?
