Day 192 - 27 Nov 95 - Page 58

       A. I did not know tht she came to my house looking for me.

  Q. So, she never spoke to you to tell you that she wanted her
       card back?
       A. No.

  Q. Was she still working at the store at that time?
       A. Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I may have missed it. Have you actually
asked Miss Inglis whether she told anyone that they could
       have their card back?

MR. MORRIS: I think so. We can ask her again.

MS. STEEL: Hang on. Can I just ask the question that I was in
the middle of asking, and then I will go on to that one?

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MS. STEEL: She was still working at the store at the time?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Did you use to see her at work?
       A. Mmm.

  Q. So she would have been in a position to ask you at work if
she had really wanted her card back?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Did you ever tell anyone that they could have their card
       back at any time?
       A. Not that I remember.

  Q. Or up to any date, or anything look that?
       A. No. As I said before, Trevor Denys asked me; he came
back to me and said: "Listen, I do not want any part of
this any more." I said: Well, I am not going to give it
back to you, but I will rip it up for you"; and I did, in
       front of him.

  Q. But that was not a promise that you made in order to induce
       people to sign the cards?
       A. No. There would be no point in me saying: "You can sign
this, but you can have it back at any time." I mean, how
would you organise a place if you are going to say that,
       right?

MS. STEEL: Right. No further questions.

                     Cross-examined by MR. RAMPTON Q.C.

MR. RAMPTON: Miss Inglis, you told us that you spearheaded the
       union drive; is that right?
       A. I was the main participant in it, yes.

  Q. You were -----
       A. The main participant.

  Q. Can I please ask you, however unusual it may be for you, if
