1 whom he is referring, whether he is referring to his own
experience or whether he is referring to somebody in
2 particular, which leads him to draw the conclusion that a
third are not stunned. Can you guide me on that?
     3
         Q. It is not something that you have heard then?
4 A. To the best of my knowledge, there is only one piece
of evidence which has been used to form this conclusion.
5 That is based on Schutt Abraham's work which was referred
              to yesterday.
     6
         Q. Schutt Abraham, they are fairly well respected, are they
     7 not?
              A. She is a good scientist.
     8
         Q. Sorry, she.
9 A. She is a good scientist -- no doubt about that -- she
is a veterinarian; she works for the German government.
10 However, I would not agree with the criteria she was using
which led her to that conclusion.
    11
         Q. But it is a view that has been expressed?
    12 A. That is correct.

13 MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is a view that has been expressed, but
the reasons which you have given, you do not share it.
14 You are saying you are certainly not aware of any
              consensus to that effect?
    15 A. That is true.

16 Q. Does that summarise what you ----
              A. Yes, it does indeed, particularly the last part.
17 I doubt whether many people agree with that statement who
are research scientists in this area.
    18
MS. STEEL: But it is not just a view that has been made by, I
19 do not know -- the people who were expressing this view
are people who are fairly respected in their field?
    20 A. Yes.

21 Q. I understand you may not agree with it.
              A. Both she and Schutt Abraham are respected in this
    22 field.

23 MR. RAMPTON: Again I ask what part of the case we are on here.

24 MR. JUSTICE BELL: I know that, but it is extremely difficult
with litigants in person, Mr. Rampton.
    25
MR. RAMPTON: I am anxious to know whether it be asserted as a
26 fact that it is so or whether it just be a view that
              is -----
    27
MR. JUSTICE BELL: I will just have to wait and see.
    28
MR. RAMPTON: No. I have to deal with it.
    29
MR. JUSTICE BELL: I know you do, but at the moment it looks to
30 me as if the defendants are raising these matters on the
basis of this article. There has been no intimation they
