Day 272 - 02 Jul 96 - Page 51

       them yourself?
       A. No, I did not do them myself. I think they came from a
       book.

  Q. If you look under Campaigns on the second page.
       A. Yes.

  Q. Second paragraph.
       A. Yes.

  Q. It says:

" Perhaps the most successful campaign we have initiated."

That means London Greenpeace, does it not, or Greenpeace
London? Which do you like to call it?
       A. I normally tend to call it London Greenpeace.

  Q. All right, so let us call it London Greenpeace.
       A. Yes.

  Q. "Perhaps the most successful campaign we have initiated in
recent years has been the one against the McDonald's
Hamburger Corporation. This has become a nationwide and
       worldwide movement."

And now we are in 1989.

"Uniting many district campaigners in the aim of smashing a
multinational that epitomises everything we despise, a junk
culture, the deadly finality of capitalism."

Can I pause there. This was, as Mr. Morris likes to put
it, an official London Greenpeace document, was it not?

MS. STEEL: That is not what Mr. Morris said about the
particular document. I think it is bit of a
       misdescription.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well, whether Mr. Morris describes it, put
       the question without that.

MR. RAMPTON: Well, this is an official, and I use that word
with some caution, but it is an official London Greenpeace
       document?
       A. "Official" is not a word I would like to use attached
to any document to do with London Greenpeace.

  Q. I agree with you, but there is no way a document -- and I
assume this went out with demonstrations and the like and
everything, when anyone wanted to know anything about the
       group?
       A. Yes, it was handed out to people who wanted to know
more about the group but that did not mean that it was the
opinion of everyone within the group.

  Q. Yes, but there is no way that the regular members of the
group or the regular attenders at group meeting, if you
prefer, the regular members of the group would have allowed
this to go out if it seriously misrepresented their point
