Day 188 - 15 Nov 95 - Page 15
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Why do you not just ask your question about
that, and then see to what extent there is any
cross-examination?

MR. MORRIS: Was any part of the film speeded up?
A. Do you mean speeded up to go on television?

Q. In the final version of the film ---
A. Yes?

Q. -- was it -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I will put it this way: you saw the film in
its final form for showing, if it was going to be shown?
A. Yes.

Q. Did anything in the final cut of the film portray events
happening more quickly than they have done in fact?
A. No.

Q. To any degree at all?
A. Not at all.

MR. MORRIS: Was -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just pause a moment. (Pause) Yes.

MR. MORRIS: Was the film shown to representatives of
McDonald's?
A. Yes. I attended a screening where there were a number
of representatives from McDonald's. The only person that
I can identify as being there was Corinne, but there were a
number of other representatives at the screening that
I went to.

Q. I think Mr. Nicholson said in his evidence that he was
there. Do you recognise Mr. Nicholson?
A. Not particularly, no.

Q. OK, it does not matter. What was the response of the
representatives of McDonald's to seeing the film?
A. On the whole, I think they said they quite enjoyed the
film. They queried in particular one fact, which was the
statement that we put on a caption about the hours that
Michael Metcalfe had worked.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Pause there. (Pause)
A. They said that those number of hours could not have
been worked and, basically, it was a conversation that
I had had with Michael during the process of filming, but
it was only -- I was the only one who had been present at
that conversation. So, to my knowledge, that was the only
thing that McDonald's questioned about the film, in serious
terms.

MR. MORRIS: So there was a discussion at the end of the
showing?
A. About that statement.

Q. But was there a discussion about the film as a whole?
