Day 245 - 07 May 96 - Page 74

MR. MORRIS: Right. It should look like this.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Anyway, what is your page number?

MR. MORRIS: It is 455 at the bottom; it is document 177 in 1B.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: No ......

MR. MORRIS: Shall we just see if we can sort it out?

MR. RAMPTON: I believe what might have happened, my Lord, was
this. They have been re-ordered, the publication files,
about a year ago. It may be that your Lordship has the
updated volume in your Lordship's room rather than in
court. It is possible. You were definitely given them, I
understand it, but maybe you have got the wrong one here in
court. But Mrs. Brinley-Codd is quite willing to lend hers
       for the time being.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is irritating because they are both up
there, which may be a fault at this end. The ringbinders
are burst. I cannot turn them over. Although I have tried
to be helpful with documents, I do not see why I should
fight a recalcitrant ringbinder in order to find what is
the 77th enclosure in that single ringbinder.

MR. RAMPTON: I quite agree. We will give your Lordship another
       one.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I am just trying to make the point that
someone should check them and make sure which the up to
date ones are. I think it is probably easy because they
are probably the second up here, but somehow or other they
have all been put together. It is probably that they were
brought down from my room and put on the carousel.

Anyway, I have got it now. What I would like to do at some
stage is if Mrs. Brinley-Codd, or someone from her office,
could check with Mr. Glen which the up to date ones are and
then the old ones be taken right away.

MR. RAMPTON: Yes. Unless you have got documents in there that
       your Lordship cannot -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, or put on the floor somewhere.

  MR. RAMPTON: Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have got a 1B, I have got two 1Bs; I have
       got a 1B(ii).

MR. RAMPTON: There should only be three: There should be 1A,
       1B and 1C.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Perhaps it can be sorted out. I have got it
       now.

  MR. RAMPTON: Good.
