paragraph?
A. Which paragraph?

Q. The third paragraph down?
A. Right; yes.

Q. It says, "We are active in supporting the miners' strike
and the print workers sacked by Murdoch". You do not have
any objection to people supporting those causes, do you?
A. Let me read that.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No ---

MR. MORRIS: It is simple question.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: -- I am sorry; Mr. Preston said that what he
objected to was the "smash McDonald's" and, for better or
worse, he thought it said it aligned you with the Animal
Liberation Front.

MR. MORRIS: Yes, so -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: There has been no suggestion from
Mr. Nicholson that he has feelings one way or another about
the miners' strike. He may do, for all I know. If you are
suggesting that he did something relevant to this case
because he does not have much time for the miners' strike,
just put it to him. There is no point in just asking him
what his view on the miners' strike is.

MR. MORRIS: No, I do not want to know his view of the miners'
strike -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If you have an allegation, put it to him
straight.

MR. MORRIS: You did not have any objection to any of the other
activities mentioned in the leaflet that London Greenpeace
were pursuing? That was their business, so far as you were
concerned?
A. The one that worried me was your association or your --
London Greenpeace's proclaimed association with animal
liberation groups, because we had suffered at the hands of
animal liberation groups.

Q. So, you had no objection to anything else?
A. Yes, your anti-McDonald's stand.

Q. All right, then. Fair enough. But apart from the other
activities, you did not have any objection to it, as in
that paragraph? If you can read that paragraph to
yourself. If you read the paragraph and say "Do you have
any objection" ---
A. As a member.

Q. -- "to London Greenpeace's right to be involved in those
activities"?
A. As a member of McDonald's executive, no, because I was
not concerned with the poll tax, I was not concerned with
the miners' strike. My own feelings on those things are a
