Day 135 - 15 Jun 95 - Page 17

  Q. You carried on selling food during this time?
       A. Yes.

  Q. All products?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Including the buns?
       A. Yes.

  Q. You were happy to carry on selling food when you had a mice
       infestation?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What do you mean by "a mice infestation"?

MR. MORRIS: They actually saw them present.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, I appreciate that, but do you mean by
infestation that there were an awful lot of mice or just
that there were mice? That is the only reason I ask.

MR. MORRIS: You have said that you saw them running around?
       A. Yes. As I recall, it was only about four that Rentokil
       caught in total.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: When you said Rentokil only came once, do you
mean actually personnel once in the store or there was only
one situation which they dealt with by coming over a period
       of two weeks?
       A. There was one situation and Rentokil came in several
       times during that time.

  Q. During the period of something like two weeks?
       A. Yes.

MR. MORRIS: Do you remember Lucas Stanley?
       A. Danley, Lucas Danley?

  Q. Danley at the time; do you remember that during an
inspection from Headquarters, a general inspection from
McDonald's Headquarters, he killed a mouse with his clip
board? Do you remember that incident?
       A. No, I do not.

  Q. The lights were on in the kitchen area and the front
counter -- they are on all 24 hours, yes?
       A. Probably at the time, yes.

  Q. You said there were three or four people doing the night
closing so there were always people around?
       A. There would have been at that time, yes.

  Q. The bun trays, they are sealed. Could you describe the bun
       trays, what exactly -----
       A. A plastic tray, holds about 60 buns. They come in two
       packs, sealed up in plastic.

  Q. So how did the mouse droppings get inside the bun trays?
       A. Presumably from the mice.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Since they can eat through electric cables
