    24   Q.   It says:  "This session teaches the trainees how to
    25        effectively plan and manage shifts"?
    26        A.  That is right.

    28   Q.   Did you detect in your cross-examination by the Defendants
    29        any suggestion that McDonald's do not care about the health
    30        and safety of their workforce?
    31        A.  I think I gathered that that is what they were
    32        implying.

    34   Q.   Yes.  Do you see that it says: "Students will be able to"
    35        and the first blob, sometimes called a bullet point,
    36        I think, says:  "State why Health and Safety problems
    37        should be tackled before all other tasks".  I failed this
    38        test Mr. Atherton, I would fail, because I do not know the
    39        answer to that question.  What is the reason why health and
    40        safety problems should be tackled before all other tasks?
    41        A.  Because they are the most important tasks.  The health
    42        and safety of any member of staff is more important than
    43        anything else that happens in the restaurant.

    45   Q.   During your time in restaurants on the ground was that
    46        instruction or precept carried out in practice or not?
    47        A.  That is the spirit of how McDonald's restaurants run.

    50        when you were in them? 
    51        A.  It is my own experience and it is also my observation 
    52        when I go around restaurants.
