Day 193 - 28 Nov 95 - Page 07

knows. I can probably get your Lordship that information
in any event, in due course.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think you mentioned one yesterday who was
       15.

MR. RAMPTON: That was Steve Fox, 15. (To the witness): How
       old was Leah -----
       A. Sorry, how old was Steve Fox?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: He was a year younger than you, and you were
16 at the time; or you thought he was a year younger?
       A. Steve Fox was in my grade.

  Q. Who was the person who -----
       A. That we were talking about yesterday? I do not
       remember.

  Q. Sorry?
       A. I do not remember who the person was yesterday that we
       were talking about.

MS. STEEL: I think it might have been Nicole Owen.

THE WITNESS: Yes. Nicole Owen is a year younger than I am.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What was her name?
       A. Nicole Owen.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Thank you. I am not encouraging the point
about under 18 at all, but if it is to be taken I think
I ought to know what age spans we are talking about,
because 7-year-olds -- I know that does not apply here --
they are under 18, as well; and it might make a difference
just how old they are, especially since the witness has
told me she started work for Ballantyne Foods, or Tingle
Incorporated, rather, when she was 14.

MR. RAMPTON: I have a feeling that I mentioned Steve Fox's age
yesterday, but I may be wrong about that. I cannot find it
       at a quick glance through.

(To the witness): How old, Miss Inglis, was Leah Wilson,
       do you remember?
       A. She was in the same grade as me. But if I can say
something, I am born in October, so a lot of them were 17
at the time, because I turned 17 during the union drive; so
a lot of them were, like, six months older or so.

  Q. Do you know whether Leah Wilson was 16 or 17?
       A. No, I do not for sure.

  Q. What about Sean Heggie?
       A. He was, I believe, a year older than I was, or he was
the same age as me but he was a year behind in school.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: But someone in your grade -- do you come into
grades, according to your age, at the beginning of the
       academic year?
       A. Yes, you do, but some people failed and some people
