       yet from other sources - the problem is that everyone's
       been off work or away since last Friday because of

       The three brief statements of Siegfried Pater, we do not

       27th July and 28th July 1993. I read them in that order.
       "I declare that I have proof relating to the following
       facts and I would like to substantiate this in court.
       - How McDonald's takes part in the destruction of the
       tropical rainforest in Costa Rica and Brazil;
       - How McDonald's with its expansion of its chain adds to
       the hunger in the world;
       - How McDonald's treats trades unionists in their
       restaurants, i.e. discriminates or does not tolerate them;
       - How McDonald's contributes to unhealthy nutrition.

       For these statements I have record, statements of affected
       people, comprehensive investigations".

       "Declaration", this is the second statement: "I am an
       expert in the stated problem areas and I would like to make
       the following statements:

       Development Assistant and 16 long investigation journeys to
       Brazil), I came to the conclusion, through observation in
       Brazil and Germany, to show how the consumption of
       McDonald's hamburgers destroys the tropical rainforest.

       "In Germany, McDonald's buys beef off farmers, who feed
       large amounts of soya bean from Brazil. I have traced back
       the soya bean food to Brazil. Soya bean has been planted
