Day 171 - 11 Oct 95 - Page 11
by reference to the schedules affecting the named people
and the clock cards and the zero hours and the excessive
hour sheets, your Lordship may get some assistance in
deciding how far the evidence of Mr. Logan (if he can give
direct evidence about these matters, and that remains to be
seen) is reliable, because on those sheets -- and if your
Lordship would find the handwritten note of Mr. Morris ---

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, I have that.

MR. RAMPTON: -- on those sheets, the first name does not appear,
Scott Shepherd; Mr. Gore appears; Mr. Stoakes appears;
Mr. Picking does not -- and nobody has any memory of
Mr. Picking; Ms. Gurglestone does; Mr. Shakespeare does
not; Mr. Olive does; Mr. Dixon does; Mr. Cox does;
Mr. Logan himself does; Mr. Perritt may or may not -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You had better go more slowly and give me
these.

MR. RAMPTON: I am sorry. I will. Mr. Scott Shepherd not, he
is not on these sheets; Mr. Gore is -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I am having to make a note of this,
Mr. Rampton.

MR. RAMPTON: Mr. Gore is, throughout the period; so is
Mr. Stoakes; Mr. Picking not -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well, he left years ago.

MR. RAMPTON: Yes, and nobody can remember a thing about him; we
have asked, and they do not remember.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: In fact, it was said Paul Scott Shepherd left
a year or 18 months ago, so he may have left before
May 1994.

MR. RAMPTON: I think that was my information, yes, my Lord;
that is right. Ms. Gurglestone does appear throughout the
period; Mr. Shakespeare does not; Mr. Olive appears
intermittently throughout the period; Mr. Dixon appears
regularly; and Mr. Logan himself appears regularly during
that period.

That is where we stopped with the names, because the other
names do not concern complaints about scheduling or shifts
or long hours or unsocial hours, but about late PRs; and
these sheets have nothing to do with performance reviews.

I add only this, that that one month's documentation, even
pared down to incorporate the details of the relevant
specified names, is something like 90 pages. That is all
I think I should say at the moment.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you want to say anything about the service
history file for 1994?

MR. RAMPTON: I am sorry. That is my fault. I was on my feet
when those were mentioned.
