Day 155 - 14 Jul 95 - Page 66

and the problem would be dealt with there and then, so it
never needed to go any further.

  Q. But let us just say hypothetically that 3 or 4 per cent of
the people in the country, 3 to 4 per cent of McDonald's
workers, feel they are not getting paid for all the hours
they work, would you expect to hear that at rap sessions?
Is that the purpose of rap sessions to get that kind of
       feeling out?
       A. It is a consistent problem but remember rap sessions
are every 6 months, so it has to be going on for six months
continuously for it really to come out.

  Q. I am just trying to find the crew opinion survey. From my
recollection, would anyone disagree with me if I said
I think it is something like 62 per cent of people ----

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord it is behind Lyn Mead's statement in
       tab 7.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It was 82 per cent agreed that they got paid
       for all hours worked.

  MR. MORRIS: Right.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Eleven per cent was a query and 7 did not
agree, so it was 7 per cent who positively thought, I am
assuming at the moment, that they did not get paid for all
       the hours they worked.

MR. MORRIS: That is not something you have heard come through
       rap sessions?
       A. No.

  Q. You said that Mrs. Farrer worked on the lobby now at the
       Seven Sisters store?
       A. Then and now I gather.

  Q. I thought that was something which she progressed to, that
is something she concentrated on since the time you were
       there?
       A. Yes, she basically went on to starting inviting the
local community and the like for sort of coffee mornings
       etc. etc.

  Q. But she is still doing it?
       A. I assume so, I am not too sure. I have nothing to do
       with the restaurant now.

  Q. Well how do you know she is still doing it?
       A. I just said I assumed so.

  Q. When you were asked earlier on, you said that is correct
when it was put to you that she has progressed the lobby or
she is on the lobby most of the time?
       A. She progressed in my time at Seven Sisters to that
       position.

  Q. Have you seen her recently?
       A. No, I have not.
