MR. MORRIS: If McDonald's want to disown it, that is up to
them. It says in this document -- I quote -- "At
McDonald's we have a responsibility to help our customers
eat a healthy balanced diet"?
A. I would agree with that.

Q. What would that responsibility entail to make that an
effective statement?
A. It would entail them reexamining the formulations of
their foods, reexamining the pricing policies of their
foods, looking at their menu items and availability and
their promotions of their various foods through
advertising, and so forth.

Q. A quote on the third page of the internal pages: "To help
all our customers to eat healthily, we are constantly
making our menu even more nutritious". What does that
imply to you?
A. It implies that they are making efforts, but I would
still comment that they probably have quite a way to go.

MR. RAMPTON: I wonder if the witness has a copy of this
document because Mr. Morris's selective reading of this is
distorting the -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Are you familiar with it?

THE WITNESS: I have not seen it.

MR. RAMPTON: Let me pass up mine.

MS. STEEL: That version is slightly different.

MR. RAMPTON: But the words Mr. Morris has read are identical.

MS. STEEL: But there are some sentences that are different in
that one to this one. (Handed).

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I am going to have to do without one because
I do not want to hold matters up while ------

MS. STEEL: You could have this one which is the same as that
one but different to that one.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Why do you not use the one which we have
other copies of?

MR. MORRIS: I think the one that Mr. Rampton has not been
disclosed yet, so I do not know where that came from.

MR. RAMPTON: It is the same as Ms. Steel's, Mr. Morris.

MS. STEEL: Neither of them are in the Nutrition bundle.

MR. MORRIS: Anyway, to get down to an important matter, I just
want to read that phrase out again.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Where are you now on it?
