Q. Can you explain what "total for week" under each meal,
8 McDonald's meal, means?
A. Yes, what I have done there is to take a series of
9 common foods using portion sizes again from the government
publication on that subject and constructed a diet for the
10 week using those. What that shows is that with respect to
meeting the recommendations for calories, for fat, for
11 saturated fat, for sugar, for fibre, it is perfectly
possible to hit the targets and include a selected meal
12 from McDonald's products.
13 MR. JUSTICE BELL: One meal?
A. One meal from McDonald's, yes, which is indicated --
14 the choice of meal for each week is shown on the bottom.
15 MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.
16 MR. MORRIS: I do not understand it. Are you saying, for
example -- let us just take an example, say, No. 4?
17 A. Yes.
18 Q. McDonald's meal. Does that mean that if you eat that one
McDonald's meal in the whole week?
19 A. Yes.
20 Q. Then the other figures below are what you would need to
catch up or to balance?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No. What I think (and I hope you will
22 correct me if I am wrong) each of five specimen weeks,
Mr. Wheelock has picked one of the five McDonald's meals
23 which are shown at the bottom, and the numbers in the left
hand margin, 1 to 5, show you which meal he has chosen.
24 He has done a week of meals designed to keep within the
2,500 calories a week limit. If you multiply 2,500 by 7,
25 you come to 17 and a half. Included in that 17.221, for
instance, is meal number 1, the Quarter Pounder and cheese
26 side salad, regular vanilla shake, scoring 843.

A. That is right, yes.
