Q. Does any European packaging go outside Europe?
A. I think you would have to ask Perseco; I think some
does, but I am not sure.

Q. Does any European packaging come from outside Europe?
A. Of the major items, no; there may be some minor items.

Q. Are there some that you are aware of?
A. No.

Q. When you said that the paper bags came from Scotland?
A. Yes.

Q. Is that where they are manufactured as opposed to the
source of the paper?
A. That is where they are manufactured.

MR. MORRIS: Just one question on paragraph 15 of your statement
before we move: When you said that one of the problems
with recycling polystyrene was the colour and inking on the
packaging, that would also be the same as, for example,
recycled paper, would it not, that came from -- one of the
problems with recycling paper has been that the final
material is not as bright, or it traditionally used not to
be as bright as the original because of the colouring, but
for packaging -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you agree with that, first of all, before
Mr. Morris goes on?
A. It depends whether we are talking about food packaging
or outer case packaging or packaging that does not touch
food.

MR. MORRIS: What I am saying is that most polystyrene, it does
not really matter whether it is of a dull brown colour or
bright blue colour if it is recycled. If it is important
to recycle something, a firm such as McDonald's could cope,
could it not, with a dull colour that came from the plant
that had recycled it?
A. That is not true, Mr. Morris. I think if you look at
the packaging, polystyrene packaging, in McDonald's, all
the sandwiches are in different colour boxes and it is done
that way so we can identify the product. Therefore, it did
not matter if we had a dull coloured brown packaging; we
would not be able to identify any finished products in the
restaurant.

Q. They are over printed, are they not, in packaging -- they
can be?
A. They can be.

Q. So it is not inconceivable, is it, that you could cope with
a slightly different coloured raw material polystyrene if
you were concerned to recycle polystyrene?
A. It is not inconceivable.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Hold on a moment. I thought you were not
allowed to use recycled polystyrene for things like clam
shells, anyway?
