  Q. I continue: "... is to make recommendations which could
and should be implemented at this time". I will not read
all this out actually but just to summarise point (1),
they are advocating that children are taught in school to
reduce fat in order to avoid cancer in the same way they
are taught about dental hygiene and the need for physical
activity and all these other matters, smoking, drug abuse,
sex education; that the public should be educated. Point
       (2) is education of the public as a whole. Point (3):
"The food industry should be encouraged" -- this is a
direct quote -- "through product modification and consumer
education, to promote an increase in the intake of fibre
and reduce the fat content of foods. The fat content of
meat and dairy products specifically can be reduced, a
process in which many members of the food industry already
       are engaged."

I will not read any more out to save time, but this did
not fit in with the general chunk of my cross-examination
which is this is more of a general conclusion. This is
really saying that it is the duty, they feel that if the
evidence is strong enough, to go out there and
really -- what kind of percentage of oncologists, do you
feel, maybe not as an enthusiast, would basically think
that is a reasonable approach to take, his position?
       A. I think most people would say that we have not the
scientific evidence to support taking such a standpoint.
This article -- it is a review of data. It is not a study
       they actually conducted themselves.

  Q. No, it is my fault. I have it in the wrong place really.
If you can put that one away, let us go to another
specific study. Does anybody remember where the nurses
       study comes in?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Is that the one you want to go to next?

MR. MORRIS: It would be useful, yes, if we can find it. Is it
       No. 5? That is Willett?
       A. Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Are you going to Willett?

  MR. MORRIS: Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: The follow-up is tab 5.

MR. MORRIS: The follow-up is tab 5. Can someone help me with
where the original is? It is reference 3, I think.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, 3.

MR. MORRIS: 3 and 5. I do not have my markings in front of
me, but I think the general conclusion was on page 377 in
the file -- no, sorry. We might as well read it from the
abstract really. It is the conclusion of the abstract on
the first page: "These prospective data provide evidence
for the hypothesis that a high intake of animal fat
increases the risk of colon cancer, and they support
