that had freezer -- vans with freezer compartments so they
could transfer stock correctly, but I never knew one of
them to be rung and I think we still ran out of stock
       occasionally.

  Q. That was a letter from McDonald's to the Employment
       Department.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, I see.

MR. MORRIS: I should have said what the date was.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is 20th January, 1995.

  MR. MORRIS: Yes, thank you.

MR. MORRIS: We have no further questions.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Thank you.

MR. RAMPTON: What would your Lordship like me to do? I am
       quite willing to start now.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If there are questions you want to ask while
you have the opportunity this afternoon with a view to
making further inquiries, then do so, but otherwise there
is no need to feel obliged to start cross-examination at
       all.

MR. RAMPTON: I am very grateful to your Lordship. That is what
I was going to ask your Lordship to allow me to do, and it
will not take very long. I will not go past quarter past
       four.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: (To the witness): It will mean, I am afraid,
you will have to come back on some subsequent occasion, but
we will deal with that problem later.
       A. OK.

                 Cross-Examined by MR. RAMPTON QC

MR. RAMPTON: Mr. Logan, I would like you to find that one and a
half/two page sheet of notes by Mr. Morris where you give
names. It is dated 2nd October, 1995.

MR. MORRIS: It should be part of your statement.

MR. RAMPTON: (To the witness): It starts with "Paul Scot
Shepherd" and, presumably, it is somewhere with your
       statement.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MR. RAMPTON: I understand what you have told us -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is in the pale blue file ---

MR. RAMPTON: Have you not got it?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: -- with a 2 on the back; you have got it
