Day 177 - 26 Oct 95 - Page 61
MS. STEEL: Yes, but I meant in terms of printing off.

MR. RAMPTON: Maybe your Lordship would make an enquiry of
Barnett Lenton of what is the earliest time at which the
corrected transcript will be available, because if it were
too late -- and I know I asked for one urgently the other
day and I got it by about half past six .....

MR. MORRIS: We could pick one up tonight.

MR. RAMPTON: That is the point. The Defendants could pick it
up from Barnett Lenton as soon as it was ready.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. What I will do is, if people do not
mind waiting around, I will rise now, make one or two
enquiries and come back. But I will not call on you to
respond to Mr. Rampton this afternoon.

MS. STEEL: Thank you.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You can start that in the morning. If you
want to start this afternoon, by all means do.

MS. STEEL: I am quite exhausted actually, so .....

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I will not ask you to, no.

(Short adjournment)

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have spoken to Mrs. Perkins at Barnett
Lenton. The situation is that if you care to go to Barnett
Lenton there will be the transcript of this morning
available in about quarter of an hour. In much the same
sort of time there can be printed out the Caseview of this
afternoon. If you wanted the proper transcript of this
afternoon that should be available between 6 and 6.30. So
it is entirely up to you. You will get this morning's
transcript anyway. What I suggest you do is take the
Caseview version of this afternoon and do a bit of reading
of that and see if you think that that will be sufficient
for your purposes. If you think, "Oh, no, we need the
proper transcript of this afternoon", then you have to
contemplate waiting until 6 or 6.30. If you start by
looking at the Caseview you may find that is good enough.

MS. STEEL: OK. Thank you.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: The sooner I rise, the sooner this
afternoon's Caseview can be dealt with. So, unless there
is anything more to be said, I will rise now and resume at
10.30 in the morning with your submissions.

MS. STEEL: Right. Thank you.

(The court adjourned until 10.30 the following day)
