Day 277 - 10 Jul 96 - Page 52
Q. What he says there?
A. It is quite possible that somebody did say that in
there that, you know, did put forward an opinion that
things would probably go quiet after the anti-McDonald's
fayre.

Q. The word I am interested in is 'fervour', as you probably
guessed?
A. Well, I don't know why you are particularly interested
in that, but the anti-McDonald's fayre, obviously, on the
day, you know, the people who were trying to get
everything, draw everything, together, the, you know, all
the individuals and videos and the talks and getting the
stalls organised and things like that, they would be
completely exhausted.

Q. It is right, is it not, in fact it was prophetic this,
because as we can see from reading the notes, McDonald's is
not centre stage for quite long periods during late 1989
and the first part of 1990. But it comes to life again,
does it not, as the October events of 1990 approach. Do
you agree that is a fair summary of the impression given by
the notes?
A. I don't know.

Q. Right. Well, we will look at it. It is perhaps not fair?
A. It is not, yes.

Q. Can we go on then? We will jump a month ahead, if we may
please, to 7th December 1989, which is you will find at
page 43. The only question I have about this is -- I do
not want Moe's surname, I am not the least interested in
that, but I want you to tell me how long Moe had been, so
far as you are concerned, and I am not interested in
reports of what somebody else has told you, I am interested
in your own experience of the group, how long Moe had been
a member at this time, May of 1989?
A. Can you say -- did you say you are not interested in
what -- sorry?

Q. Was Moe a member of the group when you joined at the
beginning of '88?
A. Well, there weren't any members. I dare say that I saw
him from time to time at meetings.

Q. What sort of age of person was he?
A. Probably 5 or 10 years older than me. I don't know.
Probably 10 years older than me.

Q. In 1989 you were 24?
A. Yes.

Q. So he would be in his mid 30's?
A. Actually, it may be 5 years older than me, I am not
really sure.

Q. So he was more of the kind of the Morris generation; is
that right?
A. Mr. Morris is 11 years older than me.
