Day 185 - 07 Nov 95 - Page 42

was him. I think at that time Travis was still the one,
       before him.

  Q. Who was that?
       A. Travis.

  Q. Travis?
       A. I think.

  Q. He was an Assistant Manager, though, was he not?
       A. I do not remember who was. I think it might have been
him or Chris, one of the two. I do not remember which one
       it was at the time.

  Q. Point 4 in your statement -- sorry, you said you had not
       read it recently?
       A. My statement?

  Q. Your statement.
       A. Well, not like today, when we got here.

  Q. Right, OK. You said you had read the parts of Sabina's
       that you had to read?
       A. Right. In that -- well, in the original statement,
like when you were in the first draft, there were parts
that said I agree with paragraphs what and what in Sabina's
       statement -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: In 9, you say: "I have read the statement of
Sabina in which she describes", etcetera.
       A. Right.

  Q. Is that the sort of thing you mean?
       A. Yes.

MR. MORRIS: So what did you do? That was in your statement and
       then you read Sabina's statement?
       A. The parts I had to read, and then I signed this saying
       it was true.

  Q. So this statement was done; and then the bits that referred
to Sabina's statement, you went and checked to see if it
       was accurate, did you?
       A. Right.

  Q. So who wrote this statement, then?
       A. Who wrote it?

  Q. Yes.
       A. Well, I gave the information to Patty and she wrote the
statements up, and we read them to make sure it was right.

  Q. You said in paragraph 4 that you had never given any
thought as to whether or not you wanted or needed to join a
union before Sarah tried to organise a branch there?
       A. Right.

  Q. So were you grateful at the time that she had given you
information which you had previously not had about the
       existence of unions?
