Day 133 - 12 Jun 95 - Page 45
A. I think this is a relatively recent document, so
I think it would be a matter of months probably. I do not
think it is an old document.

Q. Do you know who prepared this document within McDonald's?
A. I believe so, yes.

Q. Could you tell us who that was?
A. Yes, it will be the people which deal with the Pay and
Benefits area which is two people in Human Resources.
Shall I give the names?

Q. Yes, please.
A. Leslie Steer and Mark Brooks, I believe. I am sure
that I could find the date and so on. I would be able to
check with the documents and find out.

Q. Right, and find out the source of the figures that are
given?
A. I believe so. I would be able to find out how they
were compiled and so on, yes.

Q. Going back to G1, perhaps if you could also get out volume
pink XII, if you could turn to tab 29, please?
A. Yes, I have it.

Q. If you look at page 672, there is a chart that was prepared
by, I think, Mr. Nicholson, but I might be wrong, of Crew
Salary History from 1983 to 1992. Would you agree that
looking at the figures on that chart it appears as though
the figures in the G1 chart are from April 1989 which is
the date on the bottom of the document?
A. Whether they are from then?

Q. The New Earnings Survey, April 1987, has two dates on it?
A. Yes.

Q. One saying New Earnings Survey, April 1987, and the bottom
date saying April 1989?
A. Yes.

Q. If you look at the rates of pay for McDonald's on that
chart ---
A. Yes.

Q. -- they would be the rates of pay applicable in April 1989,
would they not?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: They appear to be the June 1988 ones, do they
not?

MS. STEEL: Which would run until June 1989.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That may be, but where they appear on the
sheet they are on the June 88 line?
A. Yes.

MS. STEEL: Yes.

THE WITNESS: Those rates will be the rates that were in force
