Day 261 - 12 Jun 96 - Page 42
MR. RAMPTON: Did you have -----

MR. MORRIS: It is too late now.

MR. RAMPTON: The answer could be "no one".

THE WITNESS: The group certainly had no formal structure.
However, the people who attended most frequently and were
what I would say the strongest personalities were the ones
who people tended to -- whose ideas and suggestions tended
to be followed.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Please, I am finding it very difficult to
hear, Mr. Pocklington. Keep your voice right up, please.

MR. RAMPTON: So the regular people, could I call them the core
members ---
A. Yes, that is how I would refer to them.

Q. -- would, perhaps because they were there more often, tend
to map out the group's activities; is that fair?
A. They certainly had a stronger influence on the group's
activities.

Q. In that regard, when one is looking at the anti-McDonald's
facet of the group's activities, were there some who were
more hostile or more active in the anti-McDonald's
activities than others?
A. Yes, yes. Some -- there were pet subject, so to speak,
they did not necessarily maintain in people's -- prominent
subjects with people forever, but they, certainly
throughout the time I was there, there were people --
Paul Gravett is certainly the person who I recall being
most keen on raising the McDonald's issue.

Q. Yes. When he raised the McDonald's issue, perhaps -- I do
not know -- to suggest an activity or something, what
measure of support or disagreement did he get from other
members of the group, including particularly, of course,
Ms. Steel and Mr. Morris?
A. I do not ever recall anyone objecting to any action or
statement regarding McDonald's.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, that is the end of my questions in
chief.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. Pause a moment.

MS. STEEL: Can we start at two o'clock?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Two o'clock.

(Luncheon Adjournment)

Cross-examined by the Defendants

MS. STEEL: I am finding my notes. Mr. Pocklington, are you
still working for Kings?
A. No, I am not.
