Day 122 - 05 May 95 - Page 58

  Q. Yes, what is the name of that person?
       A. Well -- I will think of it.

  Q. So are you saying there are no records that go from
       McDonald's to Securicor for safe-keeping?
       A. I know of none.

  Q. You do not know of any?
       A. No.

  Q. What about some other company?
       A. I know of no company that keeps records for us. These
records are now all kept on computer -- Ian?

MR. MORRIS: If the Company records, such as the ones that have
been mentioned, any or some of them, were kept for up to
seven years after they have left the possession of the
Company but still under their control, i.e. with Securicor
or some other firm, would you expect to know about that or
you may not know about that?
       A. I would expect to know if there is an outside company
keeping our records. I would be sending personnel records
       there for staff.

MS. STEEL: Are you aware of the Company ever sending records
to Securicor or some other outside firm for safe-keeping?
       A. No, the only thing that Securicor get from us is
records of the cash handling. That is what they do for
us. That is the only thing they do for us, in so far as
I know. There may be other smaller jobs, but their main
function, in so far as our Company is concerned (and I am
not sure they are the only company that does it) is that
they go around the stores and they pick up the cash, they
count it for us and they bank it for us.

  Q. To what extent are you involved in the preparations for
       this case?
       A. I was quite heavily involved.

  Q. Does that involve contacting various stores to get
       information and documents from them?
       A. Either I did it myself or I had someone else to do it
for me. Normally it would be someone else doing it for me.

  Q. What do you know about the clock cards in Colchester the
       Colchester store?
       A. Nothing. If you can refer me to something it might
       refresh my memory.

  Q. The statement of Mark Davies. I will read out the
paragraph to save getting the statement down. "Allegation
about clock cards being hidden in the roof is laughable."
That was an allegation made by our witness. "It is company
policy to store clock cards for three years and the clock
cards in the Colchester restaurant were accordingly stored
in the loft". Apart from the fact that Mr. Davies seems to
think the Company does have a policy on storing clock cards
        ---
       A. Now, I accept that.
