MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well, as long as I get it right, because I
very often -- look, if there are any other inaccuracies in
the index, particularly with regard to photographs or tapes
of leaflets and so on, or proposed leaflets, I would like
to be told because I do refer to the index to remind me
which date they are on.

MR. RAMPTON: Well, my Lord, can I--

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Anyway, 25th May 1991.

MR. RAMPTON: Yes, and I think one can tell it must be early
summer because if one looks at later pictures one can see
fresh green leaves, on some of the trees there are old
brown ones or leathery ones. Can you please look at
photograph 4, Miss Steel, it is on the second page?
A. Yes.

Q. You see the placard, "Destroy McDonald's before it destroys
the world", are those sentiments you share or not?
A. I mean, I wouldn't have expressed it like that, but I
do think that we need to create a world without
multinationals in order to save the environment and stop

Q. Do you remember participating in the making of an 8 minute
video film featuring you and Mr. Morris made in connection
with this case?
A. I remember being filmed for -- I mean, I have been
filmed on various occasions now.

Q. Yes. You said something yesterday which puzzled me and I
think I may have understood it was in relation to the
counterclaim. You said that you have never given a press
conference?
A. That is right.

Q. What do you mean by press conference?
A. I mean, where you get a load of press along to listen
to you making a speech.

Q. Why did you say that?
A. Why?

Q. Yes. Why does it seem important to you that you have never
given what you might call a formal press conference?
A. It was referred to in Mr. Preston's statement that we
were going to do a press conference and we have never done
a press conference. So that was why I said it.

Q. You do not deny that since the outset of since, in fact
before the outset of this trial you have assiduously
cultivated the press, you and Mr. Morris together?
A. What does assiduously mean?

Q. Keenly, enthusiastically?
A. I am actually not very enthusiastic about speaking to
the press at all. But they have been very interested in
