    34   MR. RAMPTON:  Yes, 1st November 1991.  "The company is aware of
    35        the duty imposed by the Electricity at Work regulations to
    36        maintain equipment in a safe condition and to ensure that
    37        only suitably qualified individuals undertake maintenance
    38        or repair of any electrical equipment.  No company employee
    39        is allowed to carry out any repair or maintenance or than
    40        calibration unless they have satisfactorily completed the
    41        Applied Equipment Course.  Employees are only allowed to
    42        carry out those electrical repair and maintenance functions
    43        for which they have been trained.  Employees who work on
    44        electrical equipment have their own personal duty to follow
    45        the company training so as not to endanger themselves,
    46        fellow employees, customers or any other visitors.  All
    47        electrical equipment on company premises, whether fixed or
    48        portable, will be checked by an independent electrical
    49        contractor at least once per annum and any necessary
    50        remedial work carried out to ensure that all equipment is 
    51        maintained in a safe electrical condition.  A record of all 
    52        maintenance and repair work carried out on any equipment 
    53        provided by means of the equipment service history file, is
    54        the restaurant manager's responsibility to ensure that the
    55        equipment service history file is correctly maintained.  No
    56        unauthorised electrical equipment is to be used on or
    57        brought into company premises.  Electrical installations of
    58        equipment must not be tampered with."
