Day 074 - 16 Jan 95 - Page 18
Q. Would summer be a busier time for take-away than winter or
not?
A. Summer is for take-away, yes, it is busier.

Q. On a busy Saturday, in the height of summer, the West End
of London over-run with tourists, children on holiday --
let us take the end of July?
A. Right.

Q. How many take-away meals do you think then you might be
serving?
A. It depends; if it is hot outside and it is
air-conditioned inside, people prefer to eat in because as
they are doing sight-seeing or whatever, so they would
prefer to sit inside in a cool environment. So, I would
not say there is much difference. It always depends on
restaurant to restaurant. But, where Kings Road is
concerned, I think there would be a slight variation of
take-away. It again depends on what kind of customer come
in on that particular day.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: The cost is the same, is it, item by item?
A. To eat in or take-away, my Lord?

Q. Yes.
A. No, the cost is different. Like, on milk shake, if it
is to take-away or milk or ketchups or salads, they are
cheaper to take-away because there is no VAT on it.

Q. I see.

MR. RAMPTON: When you mentioned milk shakes, that cup you have
there is for coffee. For example, the large Coca Cola, is
it bigger than that of a cup?
A. Yes, this is an eight ounce cup. That is, for milk
shake it is a 16 ounce cup, or large milk shake is 22 ounce
cup.

Q. Large Coca Cola?
A. They are exactly the same.

Q. Look, how about that?
A. That is a large milk shake, 22 ounce.

Q. That is half a litre. It appears to be made of wax paper?
A. Yes.

Q. That would have a lid if it was take-away, would it?
A. Yes, it would and a straw.

Q. And a hole for a straw?
A. Yes.

Q. At a conservative estimate, you have in front of you
something like, including the bag, seven or eight different
items of potential environment/index.html">litter?
A. Yes, sir.

Q. Suppose it was seven, if one multiplies 7 by 1500 you have
something like 10,500 potential items of environment/index.html">litter?
