Day 064 - 08 Dec 94 - Page 70
A. We had -- yes, we had to tell our staff exactly what
the situation was.

Q. Are you not ----

MS. STEEL: Could we have two minutes to check that we have not
got anything further?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, just sit down and collect your thoughts.
I will not leave court but tell me when you are ready.

MS. STEEL: Can I just ask, the nutritional leaflets, is there
any cost to the stores for these?
A. Any cost to the stores?

Q. Yes.
A. I should know the answer to that and I really do not
know.

Q. They get them from the distribution centres?
A. They do.

Q. How many distribution centres are there?
A. Two.

Q. Two in the whole country?
A. Right.

Q. You do not know whether they have to pay for them or not?
A. I would think they would pay a distribution charge as a
minimum. I am not sure about the leaflet itself.

Q. You have mentioned that there had been a big reduction in
the amount of pesticides and fertilizers used by McDonald's
suppliers; is that right?
A. I was talking, I think, at the time specifically on
potato growing.

Q. Does that apply to other products as well or not?
A. It would apply to iceberg lettuce growing.

Q. When did that change take place?
A. For both items?

Q. Yes.
A. Recently, within the last two years.

Q. Within the last two years?
A. Yes.

MS. STEEL: OK. That is it, thank you.

Re-examined by MR. RAMPTON

MR. RAMPTON: Mr. Oakley, would you mind reaching behind you in
those shelves, please, for the first pink volume No. 1
entitled Publication? Please turn to tab 41 which should
have a page number 102 on it?
A. Tab 41?
