MS. STEEL: In the USA how big are the feed lots that the cattle
       go into?
       A. "Big" in terms of ---

  Q. What area?
       A. -- number of animals?

  Q. What area?
       A. I do not exactly know what you mean by "area".

  Q. Well, in the USA when you are talking about feed lots you
are talking about just one enclosure or are you talking
about a whole series of enclosures?
       A. It is a whole series of enclosures.

  Q. So what are the individual enclosures called?
       A. Pens.

  Q. How big is an average pen?
       A. There is no average -- well, if you averaged it you
come up with an average, but the size of the pens are
determined by the number of animals that are there.

  Q. So what figure is used to determine that?
       A. I do not know.

  Q. There is no set stocking density for that then?
       A. That is correct, but what I can tell you is there that
is plenty of room for the cattle to move around. Last time
when we were going through this I told you that if you go
through with a tractor you can drive around with no
       problems.

  Q. There is room for them to move out of the way?
       A. Yes, plenty of room to move out of the way. Even if
they move you can move inside with the tractor.

  Q. If one wanted to charge from one end of the pen to other,
would they be able to do that easily?
       A. Charge?

  Q. You know, run up and down?
       A. Well, obviously you have to go zigzag. You are not
going to go straight. You are going to run into some cows,
but you can move around freely. If a cow can move, a
person can move through the pen quite easily.

  Q. Is most of the meat that McDonald's uses from cattle raised
       in feed lots?
       A. No, it is not. Absolutely not.

  Q. Where is the rest of it from?
       A. Grain fed animals.

  Q. Grain fed animals?
       A. Yes.
