     1 greenhouse effect potentially here.

2 Q. Now it was pointed out that in your, this page 34, 35, 36
in your first statement at the back -- sorry, page 37 --
3 some of these figures may be out by a factor of five on
the actual amount of CFCs released, for example, of home
4 refrigerators and air conditioners in cars?
              A. I agree to the point Miss Steel made, that they may
5 not be accurate, but I do not know what type of scope we
              are looking at.
     6
         Q. Also that your figures -----
     7
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Are you going to make any point beyond that
     8 which Miss Steel made?

9 MR. MORRIS: Yes, I am going to make a point. If we look at
page 34, you yourself pointed us to the HCFC-22 comparison
10 between blowing agents of one million and the refrigerant
              of 180 million?
    11 A. OK.

12 Q. And that it was pointed out, was it not, that the 180
million in any case under refrigerants, that would include
    13 industrial refrigerants, yes?
              A. Very likely.
    14
         Q. Such as, for example, meat processing plants?
    15
MR. JUSTICE BELL: He has agreed all this.
    16
MR. MORRIS: Yes. I just want to emphasise a particular point.
    17
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Put your point first. If he does not
18 understand you may have to recap a bit, but you may get it
in one and then we have -----
    19
         MR. MORRIS: Well, McDonald's.
    20
MR. JUSTICE BELL: --- saved the preliminaries.
    21
MR. MORRIS: McDonald's itself makes use of refrigeration quite
    22 extensively?
              A. Either that or the food might rot, yes, probably.
23 That is not my area of expertise though.

24 Q. No, but you are aware of that. I think we have
established, have we not, that these figures are quite
    25 misleading.

26 MR. JUSTICE BELL: That is a comment to me, not the witness.

27 MR. RAMPTON: Unless, my Lord, Mr. Morris wishes to accuse
Mr. Kouchoukos of trying to deceive the court, in which
28 case the question must be put.

    29 MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

    30 MR. MORRIS: No.
