will be on the top somewhere. It should be headed
"Defendants' Supplementary List of documents bundle II".
It should have 37 tabs in it, so that we know we are all
looking at the same file -- does it have 37 tabs?
       A. It is labelled from 26 to 59.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Have you got supplementary, not list of
       documents?

MR. RAMPTON: I will assume you have the right file. Can you
       turn, please, to tab 27?
       A. Yes.

  Q. It should be a dark coloured sheet with "FAWC" on it. Look
inside, please, the inside cover, Farm Animal Welfare
Council, Report on the Welfare of Broiler Chickens, April
1992. It gives the address at the bottom. Do you
       recognise this document?
       A. Yes, I do.

  Q. I do not have any file page numbers, so I will ask you,
please, if you will, to look at the actual page numbers of
the document. Please turn to appendix A on page 27 which
is towards the back of the document.
       A. Yes.

  Q. There it sets out the membership of the Council, does it
       not?
       A. Yes, there is.

  Q. There is an asterisk at the top which is said to represent
       membership of broiler production workers.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can I just say, I do not know whether it is
important, but is this all the pages? I happen to be
missing page 26, if there is one, and page 28 -----

MS. STEEL: Page 26 is actually blank on mine.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Right, very well.

MR. RAMPTON: The asterisks are said to represent the membership
of the Broiler Production Working Group; is that right?
       A. That is correct

  Q. What does it mean, the Broiler Production Working Group?
       A. For each report that the Farm Animal Welfare Council
produce, they appoint a small subcommittee to produce the
report. The subcommittee have to go and visit units and
all different aspects of production as part of producing
       the report.

  Q. How long did it take to produce this report, Dr. Pattison?
       A. About two years.

  Q. We see from the bottom of the page that it said that a
Mrs. Harrison and a Mr. Haxby had been members of the
working group until June 1991 when they retired?
       A. That is correct.
