Day 140 - 22 Jun 95 - Page 62
many documents in this.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That is all right. If you think there has
been a change of subject and you have not kept up with it
then say so. Rightly or wrongly, I am not expecting Ms.
Steel and Mr. Morris, as has probably been apparent to you,
to be able to conduct their cross-examination in the way a
qualified attorney might, so I am not going to criticise
them for jumping around but if you feel in difficulty about
it say so.
A. My Lord, it is difficult.

Q. I am not asking you for any comment. I just, in fairness
to you, you say if you feel you have got left behind
somewhere or you are not following what they are on at the
moment?
A. Yes, my Lord.

MR. MORRIS: Finally I want to refer to the documents we
received a few days ago. I do not know where they were
put. They should be in the Defendants' extra lists on
employment but I believe you said that could be dealt with
when we get to them. You may have put them on one side.
They are the documents with a T in the top left-hand corner
from Temple University.

MR. RAMPTON: Kingfisher blue, supplementary bundle 6, at the
very back?

MR. MORRIS: What number would that be

MR. RAMPTON: Number 6. My Lord, it is a different one from the
one Mr. Stein has already got I am afraid.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Has Mrs. Brindley-Codd had put it there
already?

MR. RAMPTON: Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If you look at the Kingfisher blue bundles
which are nearest to you, please, Mr. Stein?
A. It is right here.

Q. Right by your right-hand now there is a number 6 which is
the bright blue and the last document in that is the one
Mr. Morris would like you to look at.

MR. MORRIS: I do not know if there is a number that has been
given to it?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is the very back of the bundle, right at
the back, you will find the Temple University letter.

MR. MORRIS: Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Ask Mrs. Brindley-Codd later if she has given
it a reference.

THE WITNESS: My Lord, can I try to clarify something that
I think is between American English and English?
