1 A. State of Illinois Environmental Protection agency,
              division of air pollution control.
     2
MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is about three pages further on.
3 A. You see, the point here is that these documents were
received by Greenpeace after Greenpeace filed what is
4 called in the United States a FOIA or Freedom of
Information Act request with the Illinois Environmental
5 Protection Agency. That is, that letter, the response
from the Illinois EPA which is part of this document
6 collection that was received by Greenpeace; identifies two
different incinerators in Woodbridge and Yorkville, and
7 immediately prior to the -- working back to the front,
there is a photocopy of two photographs of one of these
     8 incinerators.

9 Q. That would be the third page of this document, yes?
              A. I suppose that is right.
    10
         Q. That is what we have anyway. It is the third page of this
11 document, a photograph of incinerator. What point are you
referring to in that State of Illinois -----
12 A. Well, as a statement that identifies that McDonald's
was involved in seeking incineration permits ---
    13
         Q. Right.
14 A. -- for use of this project. Now, the way that this
arose initially was that McDonald's, apparently,
15 distributed video material in Vermont in -----

16 MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think Mr. Morris is asking you to give the
last sentence of your answer and then go back, we can go
17 back we need to. What is it leading up to, what is the
              point?
18 A. The point is that McDonald's is engaging, at this
point, engaging in incineration as a solution to the waste
19 issue and that, in fact, it was part of their response,
initial response, to the McToxics campaign; but that they
20 subsequently, as far as I have been able to tell, they
subsequently abandoned this project, although I would note
21 that Shelby Yastrow was quoted in newspaper accounts as
claiming that he would like to put an incinerator behind
22 every restaurant in the United States.

23 Q. This is the Archie McPuff programme?
              A. That is right.
    24
         Q. As far as you know, I think a witness last week did say
25 that the programme was abandoned because of public
controversy; is that how you understand it?
    26 A. I think that is correct.

27 Q. OK. If we leave incineration and move on to landfills:
It has been stated that is presently the main disposal
28 option for McDonald's polystyrene foam. Can you say what
the problems you feel are and the issues are regarding
    29 landfill disposal?
              A. Well, aside from the lack of degradeability or
30 biodegradeability that I have mentioned with regard to
styrofoam or foam food packaging, the related issues have
