Day 169 - 04 Oct 95 - Page 45
Mrs. French said -- you may still want to pursue it -- she
said: "If there had been a major concern" ---

MR. MORRIS: "A major concern".

MR. JUSTICE BELL: -- "at the rap session at West Ealing".

MR. MORRIS: Can you remember all the major concerns that came
up from all the rap sessions of all the stores that you
were Supervisor for in 1984 and 1985?
A. There were none that needed follow up rap sessions at
that point in time.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can you remember having to do any follow ups
at any of your eight to 14 stores during the six years you
were a Senior Supervisor?
A. Yes, in the Windsor branch.

Q. Where?
A. In Windsor, and it was in relation to, basically,
Windsor had what we used to term as "the grave yard". It
was a part of the building outside the back of the store,
and the crew had to go all the way downstairs to actually
do the compacting late at night. That was an issue for
them, that they felt that they did not want to go out late
at night to where they felt that there were ghosts walking
around.

Q. Was that the only one in your six years ---
A. Nothing else of major ---

Q. -- which required follow ups?
A. -- issues that required any major follow up, no. They
were just sort of standard things that would have been
dealt with in the normal way.

Q. Just give me an idea of that, what was standard?
A. Things like, well, standard things that would come up
was, there is a list that is talked about on each rap
session, yes, there is a format for ----

Q. Give me the sort of thing which you do not put in the
follow up category?
A. OK, well, it is -- when I mean "follow up", I mean
during a rap session we would automatically follow up to
make sure that the things that were brought up at the rap
session were taken care of, but we would not necessarily do
a follow up rap session unless there was odd instances
brought up at a particular rap session. Things that
normally were brought up were, you know, maybe a piece of
equipment that was not working, what was being done about
repairing it, general comments in relation to crew. It was
both a positive and a negative feed back from the crew.

MR. MORRIS: So were there standard complaints you would get in
any store about things like performance reviews being late
or Managers being bossy or whatever?
A. Well, on each rap session it would be discussed, each
particular Manager would be talked about, and the crew
would be given the opportunity to give their comments on
