A. What do you mean by, like the people he brought with
him or?

Q. The people he brought with him or employed when he got
there?
A. Yes, basically.

Q. You knew all them?
A. Well, I did not know Rob and Sandy and him, but we did
meet them.

Q. So anyone who came and showed an interest in the store and
talked to the crew, talked to Mr. Ballantyne and obviously
knew about the way McDonald's worked, the natural inference
was that they had come from McDonald's restaurants in Head
Office in Toronto?
A. Right.

Q. There was nowhere else they could come from unless they
came from Chicago?
A. I do not think anybody ------

Q. It had to be someone from McDonald's, Canada?
A. Right.

Q. Is that not right?
A. That is what I would say, yes, that is .....

MS. STEEL: Your first approach from Sarah about unions was the
morning of 27th September when she phoned you and asked if
she could come round to see you?
A. Yes, she did ask me in early July if she organised a
union, would I support her? I said I would have to think
about it and know all the information about it. She did
not mention anything else to me until that day.

Q. OK. When she rang you, you immediately said: "Yes, fine,
come round because I have got time at the moment"?
A. Well, she said: "I would like to -- I am wondering if
Rui, our union representative, and I can come out and talk
to you about a union". I said: "What union?" She told me
the one she is trying to organise in McDonald's in
Orangeville. I said: "Well, how long will it take?" She
said: "About 15, 20 minutes". I said: "OK, fine, that is
all the time I had", so they came out.

Q. Right. Did you live a long way from the store?
A. About 15 minutes.

Q. Did you live on your own?
A. No, with my parents.

Q. Right. Were they in when is Sara and Rui visited?
A. My parents, they were at work.

Q. They were at work?
A. Yes.

Q. Had you talked to them at all about joining a union?
A. No.
