Day 134 - 13 Jun 95 - Page 74
Q. There is quite a lot in other cities in the country as
well?
A. Yes.

Q. Would it be fair to say that probably the vast majority of
McDonald's stores are in cities?
A. I do not think so really now.

Q. OK.
A. I think they are out on the road sides and things like
that.

MR. RAMPTON: One way to find this out is for the Defendants to
go into a McDonald's restaurant, they can wear a mask if
they want, and collect from within that store a map.

MS. STEEL: I have one. It is all right.

MR. RAMPTON: Then they can stop speculating and verify it by a
matter of fact.

MS. STEEL: I was going to carry on, but because Ms. Mead does
not know the answer then I will not bother. It will be
easier than having to tot up all the ones on the map, but
we can do that if that is necessary. We have no further
questions.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Have you finished or do you want a moment to
think?

MS. STEEL: No.

MR. MORRIS: I have not got a baby-sitter so I would prefer to
carry on.

MR. RAMPTON: I am afraid that, given the length of this
cross-examination or rather the pace of it, I am not on
this occasion inclined to accommodate Mr. Morris' domestic
convenience.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: He can leave and read the transcript. I do
not think he was asking for any accommodation or concession
at all.

Re-Examined by Mr. Rampton Q.C.

MR. RAMPTON: Only two things, Ms. Mead. Could you find the
Operations Training Manual, please, which is volume pink X,
headed actually Operations and Training Manual. You did
have it there at some stage. Do not throw XII away because
we will need that in a minute.
A. Yes.

Q. Could you please turn to page 104 where I hope you have the
actual questionnaire from the American training manual?
A. Yes.

Q. The first question, do you have precisely the same
questions as the Americans do or not?
A. Not precisely, no.
