Day 245 - 07 May 96 - Page 78

  Q. Right.

MR. MORRIS: I want to ask about the statement. Just one thing
that concerned me about the early day motions by Jeremy
Corbyn MP signed by other MPs as well, that you have used
them in your defence to our counterclaim; do you know about
       that?
       A.  Well, I know something about the early day motions;
but, I am sorry, without referring to them and being shown
what you are talking about I am a bit at a loss.

  Q. I am a bit, sort of, nervous about bringing up any
documents at this time of day.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Look, I am not saying you must finish your
cross-examination on the counterclaim. Quite frankly,
I think the best thing to do, having asked questions today,
is that we adjourn now and we are not sitting tomorrow.
If, by Thursday morning, you have realised that there are
one or two matters you should have put, then put them on
       Thursday morning when we return.

MR. MORRIS: I just cannot remember now whether -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Quite frankly, if you think you will finish
tonight and you think of something tomorrow, you will ask
       it on Thursday anyway.

MR. MORRIS: Yes. Just on the early day motions that the
Plaintiffs -- as you will know, it is in there -- but I do
not know if the actual motions were disclosed as part of
the documents, because, if not, I have got copies of them
       here.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If you want to ask questions about that, what
I suggest you do is make photocopies and then tell me where
you want them put when you come back on Thursday morning.

MR. MORRIS: Yes. Can I hand it in now? I have got copies.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, you can if you want.

MR. MORRIS: Just in case .....

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Then you want to ask one or two questions on
       that tonight, do you?

MR. MORRIS: No, I do not think so. I might as well give
everybody a chance to read it.

MR. RAMPTON: I believe it is in the counterclaim bundles,
       anyway.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It may well be. What I would like, when we
come back on Thursday morning, is if someone can tell me
where it is; but I will look at it by Thursday morning,
       anyway.

Is there anything more you want to ask tonight so you have
got information you need before you continue on Thursday
