Day 258 - 07 Jun 96 - Page 51
Q. Yes, OK. It is Paul Preston, anyway, and it is appendix 1
of his second supplementary statement.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: By the way, I hope a message came through
from Mr. Glen that the first page of my copy of this is
slightly cut off down the right-hand side on the
photocopy. It is not sufficient to interfere with my
understanding of it, but if I could have a photocopy which
is not just slightly cut off. It gets worse as I go down
the page. So, for instance, at the end of the first line
of the last paragraph on the first page, my line ends at
"that". In other words, the "we" which follows the "that"
is not photocopied.

MR. RAMPTON: Yes, I follow. My Lord, I seem to have one which
is almost perfect for some reason.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: There is no rush about it, but all I want is
if someone can hand Mr. Glen a photocopy. I do not want to
put it in my bundle because I would like to transfer my
underlinings on the one I have here onto it.

MS. STEEL: Can I just say, I think we did get -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: In fact, Mr. Glen has written "Better copy at
rear". Let me have a look. Yes, I have got one. He
obviously put it in the bundle.

MS. STEEL: If we just say, because we have not been given the
same copy as you have been given, but previously there were
other better copies brought into court and it turned out
they were not the same version.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I will make sure it is the same version.

MS. STEEL: Just to make sure it is the same one.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I know the one I have got is the right
version because it is the one which was read out.

MR. MORRIS: If we could have a copy as well, because my copy is
also cut off on the right hand side, that would be very
helpful.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What I will do is write on the top of it.
I will give it to Mr. Riley. I have written, "Judge's copy
of appendix 1 to P. Preston". (To the usher): If you
would like to go and make three or four copies of that
now. We need not hold up the cross-examination for them,
but then hand a copy to Ms. Steel and a copy to Mr. Morris
and then give me mine back, please.

MR. MORRIS: We might as well continue, yes?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, please. You can certainly work on the
copy you have got.

MR. MORRIS: Yes, it is fine. (To the witness): It says on the
second side, the paragraph starting "London Greenpeace is
affiliated to the anti-nuclear network", do you see that
