Day 115 - 06 Apr 95 - Page 59

left-hand corner, the Rising Sun. How did you come to have
       that?
       A. In the same way again, sir, either by a management,
namely probably Ray Styles or even Jeff Bowells at this
time, could even have given it to us himself, if not by the
       trade union representative.

MS. STEEL: Was this the letter that was handed out to all
catchers as far as you are aware?
       A. Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: All the catchers were given a copy of the
first document in that bundle, were they?
       A. The first one, yes.

  Q. Then what about the last document which is Conditions of
Employment for Catchers? You do not need to try to read
it. It looks like that, Mr. Bruton, do you see?
       A. To make things short, all documents of this bundle
would have been handed by management or union
       representatives.

MS. STEEL: These are the conditions of employment as from 22nd
       May 1993?
       A. Yes.

  Q. You do not remember in particular who handed you that one?
       A. I do not. If it will help anyone, I have a pile of
documents at home and I will go through and see if I can
       find any.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I am not sure if it will. Some people might
take the view that we have more than enough documents in
this case. Is there any more you want to ask Mr. Bruton?

  MS. STEEL: No.

MR. RAMPTON: I would like to ask one question arising out of
       that.

Further Cross-Examined by Mr. Rampton Q.C.

  Q. Mr. Bruton, can you turn to the very last page of that
document, please, and I will read it out. Right at the end
it says: "I agree to work to these conditions as from 22nd
May 1993." This copy that I have got is not signed. Would
that be because you were dismissed before you had a chance
       to sign it?
       A. No, sir.

  Q. Did you sign it?
       A. I have never signed no contract of Sun Valley.

  Q. You have not? So you never signed this document?
       A. No.

  Q. It is actually comes just a couple of days before you were
       sacked, does it not?
       A. We have seen a number of documents like this, sir, "to
sign or else" and I am sure if you look back to Sun Valley
