     2        A.  I do not see as Danny could have inadequate time off
     3        between shifts because normally he would work a Friday and
     4        a Saturday evening, and if you start at 4 o'clock and you
     5        start at 4 o'clock the next day, I would make that a 24
     6        hour period.

     8   Q.   Did he sometimes come in on a Saturday morning to do a
     9        shift?
    10        A.  If he did, we would start, say, 11.7 or a 12.8 and the
    11        close normally finishes around about 1 o'clock or so.

    13   Q.   "Inadequate break lengths, if any at all".  You said with
    14        mike Logan that if he went to the Managers' room -- this is
    15        on page 7 of your statement -- he would take at least half
    16        an hour.  Do you think that Danny Olive had a problem with
    17        the length of breaks he was able to take?
    18        A.  I did not ever know of any time that he did not, or he
    19        did not report to me that he did not have a -- an
    20        inadequate break.

    22   Q.   Floor Managers do not clock in and out, do they, for
    23        breaks?
    24        A.  They did not at that period, but they do now.  They do
    25        record breaks.

    27   Q.   So, is it fair to say that you would not really know about
    28        whether he was getting adequate breaks or not?
    29        A.  I would not be able to see from the clock card report
    30        whether -- how long a break he had had, but at the same
    31        time he did not report anything to me.

    33   Q.   "No reward scheme for Floor Managers and limited
    34        recognition"; do you know what he means by that?
    35        A.  In terms of specific things, Floor Managers, there are
    36        reward schemes that are applied to the hourly paid staff in
    37        general, be they bonuses applied by an individual Manager
    38        or aspects of gift vouchers or, like, given out to crew
    39        members for areas of recognition.

    41   Q.   They are occasional rewards, are they not?
    42        A.  They are, yes, they are occasional rewards.  They are
    43        typically handed out on a weekly basis.

    45   Q.   But some of them would not get that every week, would they?
    46          Maybe once a year they would get a special bonus or
    47        something?
    48        A.  It depends on the individual crew member and the
    49        individuals -- or the individual member of staff.

    51   Q.   I think the point is that they were in the discretion of 
    52        management, yes? 
    53        A.  They were at the discretion of management, yes.

    55   Q.   There was no guaranteed reward scheme for Floor Managers
    56        for the position they were taking?
    57        A.  There is no bonus scheme for Floor Managers or .....
