     2        what I have said as my opinion is, that this is 1.42
     3        hectares (sic) of total land.  Therefore, in 100 years, so
     4        to speak, of operation on that line we need 100 times that
     5        1.42 which is 142 hectares.

     8        you meant "square miles"?
     9        A.  Square miles, I mean.

    12        provide that 1.42 square miles?

    15   Q.   Yes.  Do I have to multiply the 1.42 x 80 or do I have to
    16        multiply the .96 square miles x 80 to get the total area of
    17        forest cover needed that would be required to provide that
    18        kind of amount in a year?

    22        about 112 square miles, yes, something like that?
    23        A.  About right, yes.  I have not worked it out, but it
    24        might be.  That is over a period of you have just
    25        described.

    27   Q.   That would be the total amount of forest cover you would
    28        need to provide 1.42 -- if next year a forest of 112 square
    29        miles would provide each year 1.42 square miles?

    38   Q.   But the point is you have to have a forest size of 112
    39        square miles to get the 1.42 square miles extracted each
    40        year?
    41        A.  Actually, it needs a more complex computation than that
    42        because in the period of time you are talking about, you
    43        have got the regeneration of the first area that you clear,
    44        and you have got the maturing of the area that you have
    45        thinned and the whole process is continuous.

    48        A.  So it does not actually need that total area you are
    49        talking about to continuously provide the needs of
    50        McDonald's in Europe for packaging material.

    52   Q.   But if you only had a forest which was actually 1.2 square 
    53        miles and you knocked it down, you would get nothing for 80
    54        years?
    55        A.  Yes, but you do not do that.
