Day 074 - 16 Jan 95 - Page 36
like that?
A. No, at McDonald's I have never been under pressure.

Q. Never?
A. No, because I enjoy doing the work which I do and,
basically, it is enjoyment for myself. The reason I said
it to him was that, you know, sometimes you use some ideas
and it is beneficial to other people in the group.

Q. The other stores that you have worked in, have they all had
environment/index.html">litter maps?
A. Litter maps, no. As far as I am concerned, no, we did
not have a map.

Q. Was there one at Kings Road?
A. Yes, at Kings Road we developed it after the meeting
with Linda Wells because she was suggesting that frequency
was not as great so a map actually helped, and also that
the route which a person is going to start and end with.

Q. So, the store was something unusual in that respect?
A. No, that is basically a reaction to what your local
residents say. You have to analyse the problem, what the
problem is, because a store might be not as complicated as
Kings Road is. For example, the one in Barnet High Street,
there is one street on the side, one street around the
front and there are no adjoining streets. But, in Kings
Road, Chelsea, if you look at it, every few yards you will
find another street, exit street. So, there are too many
streets and once you have got a combination of that, then
you have to have, you have to take a more methodical
approach. Sometimes, you know, streets might be too far
away from the restaurant. If it is in the shopping centre,
it is a different story altogether, so I think it depends
on the situation of the restaurant and we looked at each
restaurant as an individual entity with its own attributes
and tackled and solved the problem accordingly.

Q. Can you tell us again what is the actual designated route?
A. You come out of McDonald's, Kings Road, you turn left,
you go into Wellington Square, you come out of Wellington
Square, you turn left into Smith Street. That is where you
cover Woodfall, because I forgot Woodfall, that is how it
was situated.

Q. So Woodfall would always be done, would it, because when
you first said the route you said -----
A. Yes, I actually got mixed up in two streets because
I have not been there since I left actually. So, it is the
back street which is adjoining Smith Street and Royal
Avenue so .....

Q. So you would go up and back down Woodfall Street -- do you
have the map in front of you?
A. Yes, and then you come into Leonard Terrace, all right,
and then it is sometimes you cover Royal Avenue.

Q. Sometimes?
A. Sometimes you go to Walpole and come back into Royal
Avenue.
