Day 069 - 19 Dec 94 - Page 25
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Shall we take our break there? Will you be
ready in five minutes?

MR. MORRIS: Yes.

(Short Adjournment)

Cross-Examined by the Defendants, continued

MR. MORRIS: I want to show the extract from "Jungle Burger".
Did you have a chance to see the film ---
A. Yes.

MR. MORRIS: -- over the weekend? It should be set up.

MR. RAMPTON: I do not know if Dr. Gomez Gonzalez can see the
screen from there?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Let us try something else for the time
being. You were still going through -----

MR. MORRIS: The countries, yes.

(To the witness): Do you want to get the forms, the
questionnaires?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yellow XII, tab 16. You had got to "N",
which involved Coope Montecillos, and then we decided to
break rather than embark on that and stop halfway through.

MR. MORRIS: Yes. I am going on to "O", Uruguay. The thing
I noticed about the Uruguay document, "O", was that on beef
it had "no exports", or it was not filled in; and yet, in
fact, they do export, do they not?
A. That would involve the plant that is mentioned there.
It is a slaughterhouse and deboning facility. They do
export to other countries. They do not export for us. We
do not have any plant in Uruguay, as I mentioned before.

Q. So they export, but not to McDonald's?
A. That is correct.

Q. So the Uruguay meat that is exported to McDonald's, where
does that come from?
A. From Uruguay.

Q. But a different plant; yes?
A. The meat comes from Uruguay, as I mentioned before. It
is processed. It is sent to Braslo in Brazil. It is
processed, and it comes back into Uruguay.

Q. But there is a slaughterhouse in Uruguay that exports to
McDonald's; yes?
A. No, it is not. I said it before.

Q. What about Opticarnes, then?
A. Which one?

Q. Opticarnes?
A. Where are you?
