Day 260 - 11 Jun 96 - Page 49

"The main point of the meeting was discussing which groups
would be invited to man stalls at the Greenpeace fair
taking place in Conway Hall on 27th October 1990. The
initial list of 47 groups had apparently been prepared by
Charlie and Jane. As Charlie read out the list, various
members either objected or agreed to the individual
       organisations being invited."

Then you talk about Mr. Morris objecting to any
organisation which was a business and talking about the
       organic beer stall.

You have made a specific note there of Mr. Morris saying
something. If myself and Mr. Morris had made any other
specific comments or, you know, been particularly
noticeable in any other way, you would have made a note of
       it, presumably?
       A. If I thought it stood out from the general discussion,
       yes.

  Q. There is actually no mention of me in these notes apart
from just to say that I was there at the beginning?
       A. Yes.

  Q. So, would it be fair to say that I was not doing anything
       that was particularly noticeable?
       A. You apparently did not undertake any actions that
I thought worth reporting on specifically.

  Q. Because in your statement you talk about -- I mean, this
was drafted by the solicitors, you said?
       A. Which statement are we on?

  Q. The first statement.
       A. Yes.

  Q. You talk in paragraph 7 about Mr. Morris, myself and
Mr. Gravett being the most vociferous; and, in paragraph 8,
about the same three discussing the design of the leaflet
to promote the fair; and, on the following page from that,
us discussing the size and shapes of the symbols of the
leaflet. That is not from your notes. Do you know where
       that came from?
       A. That would have been my general impression of the whole
       group.

  Q. When you looked back on it three years later?
       A. No. That was the general impression, that those three
persons led most of the discussions when they were present.

  Q. So, that was a general picture from the meetings as a
       whole, was it?
       A. Yes.

  Q. So, it was not specifically about this meeting that you
remembered those things, our input in terms of those?
       A. Those three people participated most, in my opinion, to
the discussions about the design of the poster for the
       fair.
