Day 277 - 10 Jul 96 - Page 30

  Q. Good. It a closely typed written document headed
       "Anti-McDonald's campaign 1990".
       A. That is the one, that is it, yes.

  Q. For the present purposes can you first, please, look at the
second paragraph. I think Mr. Gravett gave us the
following names as active members: himself, yourself,
Mr. O'Farrell, Mr. Clarke, New Zealand John, Jane Laporte
and possibly Charlie Brook; do you agree with that list?
       A. I would certainly agree with those names.

  Q. Is there anybody you would like to add to that list?
       A. In 1990?

  Q. Yes. In fact, I use 1989 because it is an almost identical
       document or statement.

       A. If this is 1990 I would add Anthony, Alan and Brian
       Bishop and Michelle Hooker.

  Q. But for 1989 you would not would you?
       A. Well, Anthony for the end of 1989, yes.

  Q. But not in time, Miss Steel, for either the picket or the
       anti-McDonald's fayre?
       A. No, but then I have not got any clue whether or not you
had other people there before then.

  Q. And do you say that -- I preface it in this way --
Mr. Gravett told us that this document, and tell me if you
think he is wrong, this document was produced middle to
late 1990 in preparation for the October 16th World
anti-McDonald's Day that year; is that right?
       A. I did not have anything to do with producing this
document, so whatever Mr. Gravett says is likely to be
correct because he was the one that did it.

  Q. When this was produced, let us suppose it is, say, July or
August 1990, do you say there were no fact sheets left?
       A. By August 1990?

  Q. Yes?
       A. Most definitely, yes.

  Q. Right. Then will you look at the third paragraph, please?
"Many groups have used our famous fact sheet 'What is
wrong with MacDonald's? Everything they don't want you to
know' as the basis for their own leaflets and we will
supply a copy on receipt of a large stamped addressed
envelope. Please do not request large quantities because
we don't have many ourselves and cannot pay the printing
       bills."
       A. Yes.

  Q. Must have been available, must it not, unless Mr. Gravett
was selling what one might call bags of air?
       A. Well, he could be copying them couldn't he?

  Q. Yes. Exactly?
