Q. So they have been gradually been phased out, the use of
CFCs in refrigeration has been phased out?
A. We have 2 issues. The very old restaurants where there
apply be a phasing out, and there are many hundreds that
never used anything other than that which was approved
under -- I think it was -- the Montreal protocol.

Q. OK. I think we can leave that leaflet.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Put it on the side table for the moment,
please.

MR. MORRIS: There is one final document which I do not know if
it is appropriate to ask Mr. Preston a question about, but
if I can refer you to it?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MR. MORRIS: We did promise to try and get this document early
on in the case. It is in the last documents that we
served; supplementary bundle 9 on the top of that bundle.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just leave it for a moment, Mr. Preston.

MR. MORRIS: Have you got the one headed "MAFF News Report"?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, I have.

MR. MORRIS: If you go inside that bundle, it is document number
-- it has not got a number on my sheet. It is headed,
"Fast-food Straining US Resources", from the San Francisco
-----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It has a 10.

MR. MORRIS: Has it got a 10? Right. If I can just point out
that almost the bottom of the first column, above the words
"fourth largest" -- it seems to be "fourth largest" --
I can hardly read it -- it has two paragraphs, "McDonald's
total consumption of paper, nevertheless, is £174 million a
year" -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Whose are the quotes from?

MR. MORRIS: Bruce Hannon, it says here, "'and growing', Hannon
said,'it takes the sustained yield of 315 square miles of
forest to keep McDonald's supplied with paper packaging for
one year', he says, and that was in November 1972, San
Francisco Sunday Examiner and Chronicle.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What do you want to ask Mr. Preston about?

MR. MORRIS: I could have asked him a question but, really, it
was -- if you remember, it came up before.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I remember it coming up.

MR. MORRIS: It is just to point out that that is where the
