Day 161 - 24 Jul 95 - Page 30
MISS STEEL: Yes, I think so, if that is OK.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: (To the witness) Did you ever go to Croydon
at all?
A. Yes, I did.

Q. In what capacity was that?
A. We exchanged ideas, so from time to time I go and work
there; like, three times, four times a year, I did go and
work all day there.

Q. When you were at the Strand?
A. That is correct, when I was at the Strand.

Q. What did you do when you got there on those three or four
days a year?
A. Work with Restaurant Managers for new ideas, and that.

Q. Did you actually do any work in the store itself?
A. Cooking and serving?

Q. Yes.
A. No, sir.

Q. You just observed what was going on?
A. That is correct.

MISS STEEL: Was that because that store was also one of the
busiest stores?
A. That is correct.

Q. Can you see the video?
A. No.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Would you like to come and sit next to
Mr. Hill? If Ms. Steel or Mr. Morris want to ask you any
question as it goes along, do not think it discourteous if
they speak from behind. You just listen and then speak out
the answer. You do not have to stand up or turn round.

MR. MORRIS: Is the current equipment a lot easier to use than
the previous one -- because, you remember, we had problems
with stopping and starting.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Let us see how we go.

(The video film was played)

MISS STEEL: Is that the Strand store?
A. Yes -- that is the Croydon one.

MR. MORRIS: That is Croydon, as well?
A. That is correct.

MISS STEEL: Is that the Strand store? Is this also the Strand
store?
A. That is correct.

Q. That is the Strand?
A. Yes, it is.
