Day 184 - 06 Nov 95 - Page 62

  Q. Right. Going on to 43, about not aware that people were
afraid to come into work because they feared Ron. Do you
       remember someone called Tanya Ronday?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Did she complain about the way she had been treated by Rob,
       being shouted at and insulted?
       A. I remember there was a situation where she said --
I was not there at work -- that Rob had shouted at her on
the floor in front of customers, but I was not there.

MR. MORRIS: Sorry, I have lost my thread.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just sit down and get your place again.

MR. MORRIS: Actually, although I am taking my time, I am
skipping a lot of paragraphs so it is probably quicker in
the long run that way. (To the witness): While the Labour
Board hearings were on, you said that in paragraph 51 the
atmosphere was somewhat calmer than when Cam and Rob first
took over. This is based on something that Sarah Inglis
has said in her statement. The change was not nearly as
dramatic as suggested by Sarah. In what way had the
atmosphere improved compared to the time when Cam and Rob
first took over to the atmosphere when the hearings were
       going on?
       A. I do not -- I did not use the word "improved", I just
       said .....

  Q. No, but I was asking you in what way had they improved?
       A. They were basically the same, just that when Cam and
Rob first came in they were making a lot of changes to get
the store running in a more professional manner. By the
time these hearings came through all the changes were
basically made. It was just, you know, if Head Office was
       going to be changing anything.

  Q. What was the difference between when the hearings were on
and previous to when the hearings started before the unions
        -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Was there any difference, first of all?

  MR. MORRIS: Sorry?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Was there a difference, first of all?

MR. MORRIS: Was there a difference between how the atmosphere
was after it became aware to the management that there was
a union attempt and there were Labour Board hearings on,
       was it different?
       A. I am responding to Sarah's statement here, so I cannot
really exactly -- I would have to look at her statement and
I do not know where that is.

  Q. Do you remember -----
       A. Like, as far as I know, it would -- it was harder first
when Cam and Rob came in, and I am not even sure if that is
the word I should be using, but that is because there were
a lot of changes being made. After all the changes were
