Day 030 - 03 Oct 94 - Page 75

MR. RAMPTON: Ms. Steel keeps forgetting or mishearing or not
listening to what is said in court. The copies of the
books which were made available for the Defendants -- I
mean copies in the sense that they were photocopied -- had
sat here in the court from the beginning of the trial and
the Defendants were told that they were here. They never
did anything about picking them up. That deals with that
       point.

MS. STEEL: That is not true.

MR. RAMPTON: To be more constructive -- I show the letter --
to be more constructive, may I ask the witness a
       question?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What I suggest you do, because at the moment
we are on the question of you having copies of what you
want. If at any stage in the future we come to questions
of the defendants having copies of what they want, then we
will deal with that then. What I suggest is you ask
Mr. Cannon whatever questions you want designed to getting
hold of copies of the books or documents you want.

If Mr. Rampton comes to one which you can let him have for
some days without inconveniencing yourselves, then let him
       know, please, Mr. Cannon.

MR. RAMPTON: Mr. Cannon, do you have a list, I think ----
       A. Yes, I do.

  Q. --- in Mr. Morris' hand of the various publications to
which you have referred? Food and Health I have. That is
       your book?
       A. Yes.

  Q. The World Cancer Research Fund Research Grant Announcement
I have whole of, that is 1994/95?
       A. Yes, that is current.

  Q. World Cancer Research Fund General Information, we have
the whole of, do we not?
       A. This yellow book?

  MR. MORRIS: Yes.

MR. RAMPTON: Nutrition and Health, Surgeon General Report. I
did have two and I now have four pages. How fat is that?
       A. Quite fat, that is this one.

  Q. May I borrow that?
       A. How long for?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: How long can you manage without it?
       A. I want to be helpful. I am using that and the other
book for some work of my own I am doing right at the
moment. Of course there will be a period of a week or
fortnight when I will not be using it. Do you need it
       right this moment?
