  Q. This thing about the press releases, do you remember
whether it was you asked him, "Have you done those press
releases that you were talking about the other...."
       A. I do not remember, no.

  Q. But it might have been?
       A. It is possible it might have been, yes.

  Q. If we move on to 1st March 1990. This is a meeting at
Caledonian Road, and you arrived at 7.30 p.m.

"On arrival, no one else was at the office and I was unable
to gain entry. Other members of the group finally arrived
between 8 p.m. and 8.15 p.m. Helen Steel arrived much
       later at 8.45 p.m."

       You confirm all that, yes?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Would you have made a note of me being late if I had not
       have been late?
       A. I am sorry, I do not quite understand what you are
       asking.

  Q. If I had turned up on time, you would not have made a note
saying that I had been late? All I am asking you is
       that -----
       A. Are you saying would I have made something up?

  Q. No. I am just saying that if it says here, for example,
that I arrived late at 8.45 p.m., that is because I did
arrive late; it is not because you just thought you would
put that in for any old reason?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Why not just ask him did he note down you
arrived much later at about 8.45 because that is what
       happened.

  MS. STEEL: Well, yes. OK.

THE WITNESS: I have noted that down. I assumed that is what
       happened.

MR. MORRIS: While we are on that general subject, it was a
feature of meetings that people would arrive late, some
people would arrive late, even virtually at the end of a
meeting, and other people would arrive early and leave
early? It was not the case that people arrived at one
time, all stayed, and then all left at the end? Would you
       agree with that?
       A. Mostly, people were there, I suppose, 7.30 to 8, and
remained until things had been discussed, but not always.

  Q. Would you accept that it was a feature of meetings that
some people would arrive late; it was not unusual to arrive
late, but they would still be attenders?
       A. That is the same question that gets the same answer. It
was a feature of the meetings that, generally, most people
arrived between 7 and 8 and remained until the meeting was
