Day 074 - 16 Jan 95 - Page 29

your mind and say there was only one complaint?
       A. No, late 1991 is the period now in that overall when
I say the total number of complaints, all those complaints
might have come at that time, and then once we put the bins
out and we have everything established there were no
       complaints regarding the environment/index.html">litter.

  Q. Right. So prior to putting the bins out there were a
number of complaints about the environment/index.html">litter?
       A. These complaints which I am suggesting when the lady
came and that tall gentleman came, that was at that time
and that has prompted me that there must have been because
these people are visiting and Miss Linda Wells phoned me
up, there must have been a problem.

  Q. So the lady and the tall gentleman were both before the end
       of 1991?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Their complaints?
       A. Yes.

  Q. What is your impression of Linda Wells? Do you think she
is honest? Do you think she has a grudge against
       McDonald's or anything like that?
       A. I would not assume things. I just listen to what the
lady had to say to me and I reacted to the situation and
I sorted out the problem. So, I cannot question, I do not
       question anybody's honesty or dishonesty.

  Q. So she appeared to you to be telling the truth, not making
       things up?
       A. Yes, when people talk to you, of course, you take --
I assume that everybody is honest.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Does anyone know whether Mr. McIntyre is, in
fact, tall or not because -----

MR. MORRIS: I do not think he is.

MS. STEEL: No, I do not think he is either.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If that is a red herring, so far as
Mr. McIntyre is concerned, we might as well know sooner
       than later.

MS. STEEL: I do not know whether you noticed but he was in
court last week during the evidence of Mr. Stump initially.

  MR. MORRIS: A portly gentleman.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think I know who you mean but I cannot
       accurately recall.

MS. STEEL (To the witness): Can you keep that bundle open?
       A. Yes.

  Q. I think actually behind your statement there may be the
       invitation.
