Day 272 - 02 Jul 96 - Page 41
MS. STEEL: Right. I have actually got a spare copy.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can you hand one to the witness?

MS. STEEL: Yes. (Same handed) We have dealt with 1-3. I
think 4 was more or less dealt with, but just the end part
of it.

"Veggies of Nottingham and others were the ones
distributing various versions of anti-McDonald's leaflet/
fact sheets in bulk rather than people at London
Greenpeace."

Is that true?
A. Yes, that is.

Q. Right. And the meeting of 25th January, which was about
the future of the London Greenpeace group, was not
advertised as a public meeting?
A. That is true, yes.

Q. Right. I think you have dealt with number 6 already. I am
not sure whether or not we have dealt with number 7 with
you. We have heard from various of the --

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think you have in effect, but you can read
it, if you want.

MS. STEEL: "Paul Gravett generally dealt with letters relating
to McDonald's".
A. Yes. Specific enquiries on McDonald's, yes.

Q. Right. And that Jane answered general or kept an eye on
general enquiries and that myself and Mr. Morris barely
answered a single letter during the period, it says this is
the whole period, I think between October 1989 and 1990 it
was referring to at that time?
A. Yes.

Q. "And would certainly not have dealt with McDonald's
enquiries". Is that true?
A. That is true, yes.

Q. What was your view, just going on to number 9, what was
your view about Mr. Pocklington, Mr. Bishop, Mr. Claire and
Michelle Hooker? Do you agree with what is written there?
A. That they were regulars? Yes, certainly, regular
attenders at meetings.

Q. Did they ever speak to you about the anti-McDonald's
campaign?
A. Yes, I can remember them on occasion asking
questions. In fact, I remember Mr. Pocklington, or Anthony
as we knew him, I think it must have been one of the first
meetings he ever came to, saying that he was opposed to the
fast food industry but he was not himself a vegetarian.
That stuck in my mind because it seemed a bit strange to
me, but I thought well, you know, if he remains us with
long enough hopefully he will become a vegetarian.
