Day 159 - 20 Jul 95 - Page 37

       A. No, it was only in our store, the group was only in our
       store, our staff.

  Q. So when you were involved in that group, you said there
       were two of you?
       A. Yes.

  Q. As far as you knew, you were the only two people in the
       whole of London in McDonald's?
       A. Oh, no, all the other McDonald's stores were doing
       their own local marketing.

  Q. So you were like at that time an officially designated
       marketing person for your store?
       A. Yes, for Holloway, just the area of Holloway.

  Q. You would link up from time to time with other stores or
get suggestions from other McDonald's stores to share
       marketing ideas?
       A. Sometimes, not very often. We had our own ideas. We
used to leave that for Head Office, you know, and marketing
up there. We used to tell them what we are doing.

  Q. I do not know if it is an appropriate question, but you do
not remember me coming into the store as the local postman,
       do you?
       A. Certainly not.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Mr. Rampton asked you when you got to a later
stage in the time you have been at McDonald's whether it
was Seven Sisters, in fact, I am assuming, you said it was
the second store to open, you have been there all the time?
       A. The whole time, yes.

  Q. Have you ever worked in any other McDonald's store?
       A. I went to Hounsditch for a few days when that first
opened in 1985, I think, or I think it was 1985, yes.

  Q. That is the only other one?
       A. Yes, I went to Wood Green for a couple of days when
that opened. That was early -- I have forgotten what
       year. That was quite early.

MR. MORRIS: You know the coffee mornings which you do?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Is that one of the ideas that came up at the marketing
       group?
       A. No, no, that came from, I think, Paul Preston when he
       first started it.

  Q. It was something that started a long time ago and carried
       on?
       A. Well, in our store it has been 10 years, I would say,
but I think it first originated from Paul Preston. I am
not quite certain but I think it was Paul Preston's idea
       that the store should do.

  Q. Is that coffee morning something that is good for the image
of the store in the local area?
