Day 159 - 20 Jul 95 - Page 33

  Q. You mean the Managers?
       A. Yes, anybody, like. I would rather the Manager was in
there because I do not think -- I do not like talking
behind their backs or anything like that.

  Q. Is your experience of rap sessions that people do make
complaints about the Managers when they are not there? Is
       that what people do?
       A. Yes, yes, oh, yes, certainly.

  Q. What sort of things if you have heard them are complained
       about?
       A. Oh, sometimes that, you know, they was not very happy
or they were very sharp with them, or they might put them
on the stations twice when they did not really want to go
       on the station twice.

  Q. But you prefer to take your complaints, if you have any,
       straight to the Manager?
       A. Yes, yes.

  Q. Can you remember whether you took any complaints to Tony
Giardina when he was the Manager?
       A. Not really, no. There was only one complaint about a
       boy that I -----

  Q. About?
       A. You can say it was a complaint, like, he worked --
I was in the lobby, sometimes I was on the till for Tony,
like, worked on the till, and I was in there and the only
thing that he said to me, like, I would say to him: "Would
you like to go and clean the toilet?" He says: "I do not
       get cleaners' pay".

  Q. This is some other crew member was making a fuss?
       A. Yes, I cannot put a -- yes, I only know he was a boy,
like, you know, and he just, you know, quite objected to
doing things, like, and I said: "Why are you here then?"
He said: "I do not know". And, of course, he was shouting
and one of the customers said: "Why doesn't he shut up?
If he did not like, why did he not get out?

  Q. So did you tell the Manager ---
       A. Yes.

  Q. -- about that?
       A. Yes, I went up to Tony; I said that I did not want him
in the dining room area again.

MR. MORRIS: Can I just write that down?

MR. RAMPTON: Mrs. Farrer, apart from that person and, perhaps,
there maybe others, I do not know, but, generally speaking,
have you found in your 20 years that your workmates, your
fellow crew members, have been friendly?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Have you socialised with them?
       A. Yes, I have.
