       become a Floor Manager?
       A. You do.

MR. ATKINSON: Now, it is alleged that he worked 60 to 70 hour
weeks in 1990 to 1991. What do you say about that? Do you
have any recollection one way or the other?
       A. He did work extremely long shifts and so did Mack
Williams and that was because the two of them were saving
up to go round the world.

  Q. Sorry?
       A. They were saving up to go round the world. Mack
Williams is still in Canada now. He has a Canadian
passport, but they needed the money to go round Europe and
to go round -- they visited South East Asia, so that is why
       they ----

  Q. Are you saying they wanted to work?
       A. Yes. It was very much voluntarily. It is not the kind
of thing we encourage. If anything, we have to discourage
       them from working those hours.

  Q. When you say he worked extremely long hours, 60 to 70 hours
       or less or more?
       A. Probably 60, yes. He would work maybe six days and do
a nine or a ten hour shift each day.

  Q. But for how long was he doing that?
       A. It was -- he went over the summer, say about a month
and a half, six, eight weeks.

  Q. Then there is Kevin Peritt; does he work at Bath?
       A. Still works for the Company now.

  Q. At Bath?
       A. At Bath.

  Q. How long has he been working there?
       A. He has worked for McDonald's since 1987.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Just pause a moment. Yes.

MR. ATKINSON: Do you remember any complaints by him about late
       performance reviews?
       A. I do not, no. If he has a complaint he has not voiced
       it to me.

  Q. Do you know of any particular problem?
       A. I do not know whether he has had PRs that have been
given to him late or not; certainly not by me.

  Q. Then Shelly Smith; do you know her?
       A. Yes. She is a crew member at Bath. She joined the
same sort of time as Mike Logan because they were boyfriend
and girlfriend and so length of service was the same as
his; about four and a half years.

  Q. Kevin Perrit, was he a crew member?
       A. He is now a Manager, he is a breakfast Manager, but he
was a crew member for about five years before being
