Day 265 - 19 Jun 96 - Page 75

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, we need to know when the Defendants wish
to have either Mr. Bishop or Mr. Pocklington, or both of
them, recalled. It may be contentious because I may wish
to argue that they should not be, so I would have to know
what the reasons are if they do. If your Lordship said
they should be recalled, then I would have to get on to it
       pretty fast.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What do you think about that? I am not
encouraging you to ask for them to be recalled.

MS. STEEL: I have only read the notes briefly, but there is
one thing which I put to the witness, Mr. Bishop, and he
said it was possible and then he said -- this is about
whether or not it was the IMF leaflets or the fayre
leaflets that I was getting printed -- and he said it could
have been the IMF leaflets but, based on his notes, he did
       not think it would be.

In the other notes we have got of the 20th September 1990
it actually says that I was doing the IMF leaflets. I do
not know what the position is, whether I need to ask
Mr. Bishop that, or whether I can just say "Well, this" --
I mean, can we just say, "This part of the note is
       correct", or what?

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, I really would not have thought it was
worth bringing back Mr. Bishop for that. Mr. Bishop has
said his recollection was uncertain anyhow. If Ms. Steel
says it was the IMF notes, and I do not contradict him,
       nothing turns on it anyway.

MS. STEEL: Can we have a guarantee that Mr. Rampton will not
       contradict me?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If you are prepared to make a formal
admission that it may have been the IMF leaflets -----

MR. RAMPTON: I cannot do it now -- well, I could if I could be
given the page number and the date, please?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you have the page number?

  MR. RAMPTON: I need both.

MS. STEEL: It is 20th September, 1990. I looked at it
yesterday, I cannot remember where it is. I just remember
       noticing it.

MR. RAMPTON: It is, my Lord, page 206 -- well, 202.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have not written on the page numbers yet.
Is it part of the report which relates to Miss Hooker?

MR. RAMPTON: The Bishop one, my Lord. It is the reference I
       have just given.

MR. MORRIS: But which of the -- is it Frances Davidson or
       Michelle Hooker report?
