Day 182 - 02 Nov 95 - Page 21

  Q. Sorry, I am just trying to think that Theo Holm makes some
reference to -- yes, he said that there was a boycott
threat but that it would not have affected the store
       because their sole supplier -----

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Paragraph 7.

MR. MORRIS: Thank you. Paragraph 7, sorry. (To the witness):
It says: "Our sole supplier was not a union organised
company", can you comment on that?
       A. Well, he must be wrong because we get meat from one
supplier, we get fries from one supplier, we get -----

  Q. Different suppliers?
       A. Yes. We get, you know, the different -- the cups and
things from another supplier; we get cokes from another
supplier; there is someone who collects the garbage from
the restaurant and all these were unionised factories or
companies. In Norway, it usually works so that if there is
a strike on, these companies will be sent a notice or the
union members there will be given notice that there is a
strike going on at this place, and as long as they see a
picket line, they will just go on. They will not deliver.
I have been picketing myself on occasions twice, and that
is the way it has happened then.

  Q. Right. Just one question, that in Theo Holm's first
supplementary statement he says: "The number of restaurant
staff", in paragraph 3, "totals about 1,000 out of whom 14
       have sought union organisation".

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That is 24, divider 24.

  MR. MORRIS: Yes.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Paragraph 3.

MR. MORRIS: That is all I was going to refer to. Just a simple
question: Is 14 number of union -- he does not actually
say union members, he says: "14 have sought union
organisation". I do not know what that means, but how many
union members do you have at your store, have you had in
       recent months?
       A. I believe there are about 15 right now.

  Q. That is your store alone?
       A. That is my store, yes.

  Q. Are there union members in other stores?
       A. Yes.

  Q. I am sorry, I am trying to cross-reference about three
       different statements or documents.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Look, we will take the five minute break
       there.

MR. MORRIS: I think we are making progress.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. In case you have not done so, what
