purpose in this case, i.e. to get information from
different countries, is that the form which is, in fact,
used for slaughterhouse audits or not?
       A. It is one of the forms. In different countries there
are additional forms that are used because it better fits
the need. That is a global, generic form, and if you look
at the countries you would understand that there is a
significant difference between countries to countries, even
within the same country. That is a generic form. So, we
have to rely on different forms for specific countries and
we also rely on our people. When we visit, if I may
clarify, when we visit the slaughterhouse to your point in
the US, we do not use that form, we use a more extensive
       form.

MS. STEEL: Is that specifically about animal welfare?
       A. It includes all of the factors that we think are of
importance. It includes animal welfare; it includes the
hygiene practices; it includes their process to monitor the
food safety; it includes areas that are directly related to
management and how the plant is being run.

  Q. So there is a standard form that goes to the suppliers in
the USA -- goes to the slaughterhouse in the USA?
       A. Yes, that is correct.

  Q. How many pages long is that?
       A. We have, let us see, if I remember correctly, just a
       few pages.

  Q. Is it a whole page on animal welfare or -----
       A. It has broad definitions. I think it is divided into
different areas. If I remember correctly, it is less than
       one page.

  Q. Right.
       A. But it is broad areas, areas that will give us an
indication of the welfare of the animals. It does not have
a specific, very specific, details about every specific
area that it is considered to be part of the Humane
       Slaughter Act.

  Q. There is not a comparable thing for farms? There is not an
       audit form for farms?
       A. We do not have, that is correct.

  Q. The forms that were sent out around the world that we have
seen, we looked at yesterday, was that the first time that
       had been done?
       A. On my side, yes.

  Q. What do you mean by "on my side"?
       A. I sent that form. I have been with the company for
three and half, roughly three and a half years. We do an
incredible amount of things within the company, as you will
understand, a company of our size. Nobody in the company,
it would be beyond human comprehension to understand and to
see every single report that is produced, every single form
that is developed. The company has been in operation for
roughly 40 years. I do not know every single detail, every
