national delegates in order to further the recruitment and
representation of McDonald's employees. This working group
made firsthand official reports to the HRC trade group
which contained details of member disputes in Germany,
(Reinland/Westfalen and Regensburg), Denmark, Finland,
Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, USA, Australia and France.
These reports of disputes often appeared also in the IUF
news bulletin for circulation to affiliates. Occasionally,
the IUF also circulated special official reports to the IUF
from a member union in dispute with McDonald's, for
example, the HRF report from Denmark."

I think, actually, in the original -- sorry, I will just
finish that off.

"Sincerely, Dan Gallin, General Secretary", and also
co-signed by Paul Garver on July 26th, 1993.

Now, I believe -- I cannot remember, I am not sure if we
had attached to this originally the Denmark report.
I cannot remember, actually. Maybe if I read the second
one, and I will mention the attachments that go with it.

It may be worth mentioning specifically that HRF report;
maybe it is not. Can we just say that that refers to a
number of documents, IUF official documents, which have
been referred to at one time or another in this case before
and during trial. They have all been disclosed. So, in
effect, although they are not attached, he is verifying
that they come from IUF sources. Shall I read the second
statement?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MR. MORRIS: Supplementary statement of Dan Gallin for the
Defence:

"I, Dan Gallin, General Secretary of Food Agricultural
Hotel Restaurant Catering Tobacco and Allied Workers
Associations, make the following addition to my statement
of 26th July 1993. I have been shown some of the relevant
statements of the McDonald's Corporation regarding various
labour disputes involving the IUF and our affiliated
national unions. I am able, if so requested, to contact
the relevant union representatives for each of the disputes
at issue in the case involving our organisation (regarding
Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, USA and
France).

"In order for a statement to be sought and/or relevant
documents to be made available to the Defence and to the
court, in some cases this may include updates.

"I have read the Defence particulars on the abovementioned
disputes and can verify they are accurate summaries of
official and specialist information provided to the Defence
by our union. November 11th, 1993."

The appendices attached to those statements are, if you
like, summary and history of the activities and purposes of
