the ..." well, that has all been blanked out, "who use the
Square as a tip for their spent food wrappings". Did you
make contact with the residents at this time of Wellington
Square having read these very strong views?
       A. The only resident whom I have spoken to was a lady and
       gentleman in 1 Wellington Square.

  Q. We have not got that letter from Wellington Square
I think. Now if we can move to 776, this is in 1993, it is
from Nicholas Scott MP who, I believe, is a Minister now --
I do not know of what.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I am not sure it is anything to do with this
area. He was the Minister who collected some publicity
last year over the Private Bill relating to the disabled.
So he may have been a -- well, I will not say any more. In
any event, he was writing as the local member of
Parliament, obviously, rather than in any ministerial
capacity so far as we can see.

MR. MORRIS: Yes. This is a letter which includes -- it seems
that Dr. Taylor had been to see (Dr. Taylor from the
residents associations of the area) the MP and the MP has
written to Mr. Preston, the President of McDonald's. The
top of it has been blanked out, but we note that it is
referring to the environment/index.html">litter concerns of Dr. Taylor. It refers
to several useful meetings with McDonald's in the second
complete paragraph. Do you remember meetings with
       Dr. Taylor?
       A. Dr. Taylor, as I suggested, we bumped into each other
       several times in the street.

  Q. Right, so actually if we look at 774 ----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: 772 Dr. Taylor wrote on 28th September 1993
       to Mr. Preston.

MR. MORRIS: But on 774 they actually set up a meeting.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: And then 774 there was going to be a meeting.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, yes, but if one wants to know what
Dr. Taylor's concerns are about environment/index.html">litter were, one has to
       look at 773.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have read that.

MR. MORRIS: So on 774 you arranged a meeting with Dr. Taylor,
       did you?
       A. It was myself and there were high officials from
       McDonald's hierarchy.

  Q. Did you attend that meeting that was held or get a record
       of it?
       A. I do not have a record of it, but I remember the
       meeting.

  Q. Who else was at that meeting or do you know anybody who was
       at that meeting?
       A. It was Marcus Hughson, John Dwyer was there, Keith
