Day 143 - 27 Jun 95 - Page 40

if you are to give it.

At the moment, the plan appears to be that you will be the
last witnesses or towards the end, but all I am asking
people to consider is this: One of the topics, no doubt,
you will give evidence on, if you do give evidence at all,
is the question of whether you participated in publication
       of the leaflet.

What I want you to consider is, if that is so, whether you
should give evidence towards the end, certainly, but before
you call any witnesses of your own on the issue of
publication, or whether you are the very last witnesses.
But I do not want any indications of view on that now, it
just deserves some thought. That is all.

Unfortunately, you are going to have quite a lot of time to
think about that before we get to that stage of the trial,
so continue with the cross-examination now.

MR. MORRIS (To the witness): I was going to ask you a very
brief question about Mexico, just about the status of the
McDonald's Restaurants there and when they opened up in
1985. I am not sure if I asked you before. What was the
       status again of the owner/operator?
       A. The status?

  Q. Was it a subsidiary, was it a joint venture partner?
       A. It was a joint venture partner.

  Q. If you just go to document, it is that last document we had
       out, bundle 5, I believe.
       A. Blue 5?

  Q. Blue 5. 135.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That is 4.

MR. MORRIS: I am sorry. I have them all in one bundle. It
       must be bundle 4 then.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is 35, Mr. Stein.

MR. MORRIS: Yes, 35. Have you 35 in front of you?
       A. Is something that is in German?

  Q. That is correct. At the top it says: "NGG Actuel", do you
recognise this as an NGG union magazine? Have you seen NGG
       magazines?
       A. No, I have not.

  Q. All right. It was this magazine that contained the
allegations regarding Regensburg which we pleaded about the
dispute over works councils and certain individuals. Do
you have any personal knowledge of that?
       A. No, I do not. I have no idea where Regensburg even is
-- obviously, it must be in Germany.

  Q. You have not got any personal knowledge?
       A. No, I do not.
