Day 263 - 14 Jun 96 - Page 57

-- I would not have waited around; but, yes, I had the
impression that people were collecting stuff.

MR. RAMPTON: Thank you very much, Mr. Russell. Please remain
there. Can you make sure, Mr. Russell, that copy of the
fact sheet does not get lost, that it remains safely
       there?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You had better hand it back to Mr. Rampton.

MS. STEEL: Is this being officially done as an exhibit?

MR. RAMPTON: No, I do not say it is actually that document, but
I showed him one of the originals which I have. I do not
even know which one it is. I think it is the tea stain
       one.

  MS. STEEL: Right.

MR. MORRIS: Is it possible to have a five minute break?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, we will have a five minute break.

                        (Short adjournment)

                  Cross-examined by the Defendants

MS. STEEL: You still work for Kings Investigation Bureau, yes?
       A. No, not for five years.

  Q. You are still a freelance investigator?
       A. No, I am semi-retired.

  Q. You are semi-retired?
       A. Yes.

  Q. So, you are a part-time investigator?
       A. From time to time I might do some, yes, but pretty
       infrequently now.

  Q. Would that include some for Kings Investigations?
       A. If I was asked I would consider it.

  Q. That has happened within the past couple of years?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Indeed, within the past couple of months?
       A. Yes.

  Q. How long have you been an investigator?
       A. Well, I have been intermittently an investigator. As a
freelance I worked in 1990 and, more recently, I have taken
       on the odd assignment.

  Q. So you only started in 1990?
       A. Yes, as a freelance investigator, yes.

  Q. Had you been an investigator previous to that?

MR. RAMPTON: Does it matter, my Lord, what he was previously?
