  Q. Do you remember in 1990 that you made a claim against Sun
Valley that you had suffered an industrial injury, that is
to say, an injured wrist, a fractured right scaphoid, do
       you remember that?
       A. I do, yes, very well.

  Q. That was a fraud?
       A. It was not, no.

  Q. You had not broken your wrist at all, had you?
       A. I never said I broke my wrist. If you look, the
doctors wrote on the notes what was wrong with my wrist,
not my allegations. It is what doctors wrote was wrong
with my wrist. It was documentated by doctors of the
Hereford General Hospital -- not my words.

  Q. Do you remember telling the people at Sun Valley that some
of the gloves which you had been given to your wife who
       also worked at Sun Valley?
       A. That is right.

  Q. That was not true, was it? She did not, did she?
       A. I do not know where this line of questioning is going.
At the end of the day, if I had all this property belong to
Sun Valley and they were so sure it was Sun Valley, the
Police had it in their possession, why did they not
       prosecute me?

  Q. I cannot give evidence for them, Mr. Bruton, but how about
this, that they were quite satisfied in getting rid of you?
       A. They have got rid of us because they was looking to put
contract teams in and they was looking for excuses. It is
not the case that this kit belonged to Sun Valley. It was
an opening to say this man, looking for excuses, "Let us
       get rid of him".

  Q. Why did you talk to Animal Aid in 1994?
       A. I have been talking to Animal Aid for longer than 1994.

  Q. Yes, of course, but why? Why?
       A. I have nothing to say.

  Q. What?
       A. I have nothing to say.

MR. RAMPTON: That is not an incriminating question, so, my
Lord, I will press the witness, if your Lordship will have
       it?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, tell us why.
       A. I have been talking to Animal Aid about different
things over different issues for years.

MR. RAMPTON (To the witness): I want to know if you will tell
us, please, Mr. Bruton, why it was you spoke to Animal Aid
       about Sun Valley in 1994?
       A. In general, the poultry world and the conditions that
       they -----
