regarding the local community and environment. She was not
blaming this company's store re the rubbish, but asked if
we could help. She was informed about our trash groups.
Mrs. Smith thanked us for our effort and asked if other
resident knew about the above", is it?
       A. Yes.

  Q. "... informed her that they should know. Mrs. Smith
suggested that we print tent cards and Ali will be
following this idea up with Max marketing liaison officer
West End." On the left-hand side there is a drawing
looking like a tent which says: "Please dispose of environment/index.html">litter
thoughtfully in the interests of the local environment,"
etc. Did so far as you are aware McDonald's through Ali and
Max take up the idea of a tent card?
       A. When you say McDonald's, not the company as a whole?

  Q. Sorry, that is my fault. Your restaurant.
       A. Yes, we did.

  Q. (Document handed to the witness). Is it right to put it
like that so it stands up?
       A. Yes. It would be positioned on top of the customer
       tables.

  Q. I could not hear?
       A. In the dining area tables where the customers would be
       seated.

  Q. On the tables where people would eat their food?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Would the take-away customers see them as well?
       A. Yes, they would because they would be positioned beside
       the straws and the napkins.

  Q. Beside the straws and napkins on the serving counter?
       A. No. The straws and napkins are in the dining area
       itself.

  Q. So if I got my food then I go and get my straws and napkins
from a different place, that is where I would see that?
       A. Yes, that is right.

  Q. Does it have in the middle "Kings Road", the Golden Arches
sign and McDonald's on the left and the Tidy Britain Group
or something like it anyway on the right-hand side?
       A. Yes, it does.

  Q. It says: "McDonald's Kings Road requests that all environment/index.html">litter is
disposed of carefully". It says the same on both sides so
far as I am aware. When was that put in, do you know?
       A. I cannot give you an exact date, but I believe it was
either May or June last year.

  Q. Is there anywhere in the restaurant itself where somebody
who decides to have his meal there can put his rubbish?
       A. Yes. We do provide internal bins for the use of the
customers who eat inside the restaurant.
