Day 277 - 10 Jul 96 - Page 38
could say that it was definitely that particular box, but.

Q. And you don't know who wrote "McD fact sheets" on that box?
A. No, no, it is not handwriting that I recognise.

Q. Then, 10 I think we have looked at so we can leave that.
Would you look at 11 as well, please? And the only thing I
am interested in here is the notice "McDonald's makes me
sick" on the top shelf; do you see that?
A. Yes.

Q. Do you remember seeing that around in the office?
A. I don't remember it, to be honest, but it could well
have been stuck there.

Q. When?
A. I mean, by the way it is stuck there -- I don't mean
stuck, I just mean just chucked on the shelves sort of
thing.

Q. When Mrs Tiller, I think it was, wrote in her note that
"somebody at the meeting, I can't remember who it was,
said everyone hates McDonald's", that statement was true so
far as you were concerned was it not?
A. I don't hate McDonald's, I don't like what they do and,
as I said in my statement, I do find some of their
propaganda pretty sickening. The way they carry on as
though they are some great benefit to all society.

Q. Sorry about this, have you got your interrogatories there
still?
A. Yes.

Q. Could I ask you to look at No. 9 on the second page?
A. Yes.

Q. "Did not London Greenpeace produce as part of its
anti-McDonald's campaign the leaflet complained of in these
proceedings, a copy of which is annexed hereto?" Answer,
"I believe so"?
A. Yes.

Q. Honest answer?
A. Yes, of course. I wasn't involved in the group at the
time, so anything that I was going to say about the
fact sheet would be hearsay.

Q. I see, you focused on the word production; is that right?
A. Say that again?

Q. Sorry. Okay. Right, well, then I want to ask you about
something else. Can I just ask you this question: you
don't dispute, I don't suppose, the various -- and I use
the word neutrally -- boasts that were made in London
Greenpeace literature about the huge success which had been
achieved by the anti-McDonald's campaign, and in particular
by the famous fact sheet?
A. I don't know what you are referring to.

Q. Well, I will show it to you. If you look, please, at tab
