"When we introduced the McDonald's healthy eating policy at
the end of 1992, we confirmed the commitment to helping our
customers eat a healthy imbalanced diet. Our commitment
involves a continuous process of seeking and implementing
practical ways to reduce levels of fat and other nutrients
in line with the Government's dietary recommendations."

That is reducing the levels of fat and other specific
nutrients in your own products; yes?
       A. Yes.

  Q. "In line with the Government's dietary recommendation
whilst keeping the taste our customers enjoy."

       Then "New Products":

"Introducing new products which reflect the changing
customer taste in dietary needs is one way we can help but
the most important way we can help is by continuously
improving nutritional content of our most popular menu
       items."

       That is correct; yes?
       A. That is correct.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What do you want to ask about this because
there is no need to verify every sentence ----

  MR. MORRIS: I understand.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: -- if Mr. Preston has said, as he has, that he
stands by the whole of the first column.

MR. MORRIS: (To the witness): So, some items are more
nutritional than other items; is that correct?
       A.  Well, some contain certain vitamins and others do not;
some are different in content. There are certainly
       differences amongst them, absolutely.

  Q. So, some items are more nutritional than other items; are
       they not?
       A. I do not know. I am not sure what you mean by that.
They all have nutritional value. Whether they are more or
less, you have to give me an example.

  Q. Do they all have equal nutritional value?
       A. I would say not. They are not all the same.

  Q. Some are more nutritional than others?
       A. Yes.

  Q. And some items can be made more nutritional by improving
       the nutritional content.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What do you mean by "nutritional"? You must
       say.

MR. MORRIS: , when you say that "some items are more nutritious
than others", what do you mean?
       A. Well, we have a mineral water on our menu. Your body
