Day 272 - 02 Jul 96 - Page 54

       organiser?
       A. No. I was trusted, I was interested in it.

  Q. Of course.
       A. That is how I got involved and people trusted me to the
campaign. By and large I think they thought I did a pretty
       good job of it.

  Q. The group was very proud of its anti-McDonald's fact sheet,
was it not, "our famous fact sheet"? All over the world
people had been using it. Until the writs in this case had
been issued, Mr. Gravett, they embraced it as though it was
a long lost child, did they not? They loved it?
       A. I think that is going a bit far, I really do. There
were very few copies of the facts sheets around in 1990 for
       anyone to embrace.

  Q. Then please turn to - I am sorry about this paper chasing,
there is nothing I can do about it - tab 60A in that file
and to page 8. I hope your pages are numbered. It is
called anti-McDonald's.... That is the one, yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What has it got at the top?

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, it has got Greenpeace London and it is a
press release 10.8. So the fact is that the '89 is
missing. For publication, it says. Then it says:

       "Greenpeace London anti-McDonald's campaign '89."

       Has your Lordship got that?

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MR. RAMPTON: It has got an "H" in inverted commas in the top
       right-hand corner in handwriting.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have got a black top right-hand corner. It
       has wobbly A in campaign.

MR. RAMPTON: That is right. It was a particularly odd thing
that slipped. Mr. Gravett, do you recognise this
document? I can tell you that it was originally green in
colour or the original is green.
       A. Yes, I do recognise it.

  Q. Who composed this one, do you know?
       A. I did.

  Q. You did?
       A. Yes.

  Q. And it says:

On the 16th October world day - this is 1989 - world day of
action against McDonald's once again Greenpeace London is
calling for October the 16th United Nations world food day
to be a worldwide day of action against the McDonald's
       Hamburger Corporation".
       A. Yes.
