Day 167 - 02 Oct 95 - Page 27
Operations Department about what were the current issues,
and if it related to a training issue then we would do
everything we could to deal with that.

Q. Right. So, regarding Operations and the feed back you got
from Operations about the effectiveness of your training,
did they say any particular policies were not being
enforced and this is something that they were concerned
that you should reinforce at your Hamburger University ---
A. I -----

Q. -- "You have a problem in this area; the message is not
getting through" -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You have asked the question; do not ask it
twice.
A. Yes. I think there are always issues which the
Operations Department had for us to reinforce at the
training courses, and we would do that wherever we could.

Q. For example, what issue did people feel that was not really
being enforced properly, just some examples?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can you remember any specific one now?
A. Nothing specific but, you know, it was a continuous
feed back procedure, which is why we were always
continually updating courses. It may be on a piece of
equipment, a maintenance -- piece of maintenance on the
shakes machine or something which is a real key piece of
equipment. It might be a cleaning procedure that needed
revising or something like that. And we would look at it
and we would reemphasise that or change our training
according to that.

MR. MORRIS: What about scheduling matters, is there anything
you remember about the scheduling?
A. Well, the scheduling was always a guideline for
Managers and Supervisors to use. As I said before, each
restaurant is different.

Q. So did you ever get feed back about a problem with adhering
to policies nationally?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Look, that is far too general. Are you on
scheduling now?

MR. MORRIS: Yes. (To the witness): All right. I will give
you an example. We have heard that it is a policy of the
Company for people not to work over 39 hours ---
A. Right.

Q. -- for whatever reason; did you ever get feed back about
that, about whether that policy was being adhered to?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That you recall?

MR. MORRIS: That you recall?
A. Not specifically on that particular one.

Q. Right.
