Day 272 - 02 Jul 96 - Page 25

       A. Yes.

  Q. Then it was says:

"Then a speaker from London Greenpeace spoke". Do you
       remember anything about this meeting?
       A. I was at the meeting and I, for want of a better word,
I think chaired it, because it was a public meeting. I
introduced the meeting, the group and the speakers.

  Q. Do you know who organised this meeting?
       A. Yes, I did.

  Q. You did?
       A. Yes, I organised this meeting.

  Q. Right. And did I speak at this meeting, from what you
       remember?
       A. Yes, I remember that you did, yes.

  Q. Do you remember how that came about?
       A. Well, I think I asked you because I knew you had been
in the group a long time. You knew more about the history
of the group going back to the 70's and early 80's. It was
basically a philosophical debate. I think it was called
"which way forward for the green movement, reform or
revolution". It was a philosophical debate. It was not
discussed in specific campaigns. And you spoke on behalf
of London Greenpeace about the philosophy of the group, I
       believe.

  Q. Right. Well then --
       A. You know, you were considered, you know, a good public
       speaker, Dave.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: When you say "the group" this time, you do
       mean London Greenpeace?
       A. Yes.

MR. MORRIS: At the bottom of the second page of those notes it
says that I spoke to Mr. Pocklington and said that I had
been off and on involved with the group for about ten years
and you said that my attendance had been tailing off from
about, I cannot remember what you said now?
       A. '87.

  Q. From when you really got involved with the group?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Had I ever said about what my involvement previously was
and, if so, does it accord with what it says there? It is
the bottom of the second page. It does not matter that
much. I am just saying did I ever speak about what my
involvement with London Greenpeace was to you previous to
       you joining the group?

MR. RAMPTON: I hesitate to be technical about this, but it is
not actually permitted to lead self-serving hearsay
evidence of this kind. What Mr. Morris may or may not have
done in relation to the group is a matter about which he or
