Day 088 - 13 Feb 95 - Page 87
MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, this is the first time, I think, that I
have asked for any indulgence in this respect. I remind
your Lordship that Mr. North who visited various places
during August did not finally produce a report until the
end of January. We have been waiting for months for the
statement of Ms. Link which has just arrived. I can think
of other examples if I press my recollection.

Quite honestly, I understand entirely why your Lordship has
been, I would say, quite unduly generous with these
Defendants. But, that being said, I do ask on this one
occasion for a similar kind of elasticity. I kept asking
for the report of Mr. North. It never came until finally
your Lordship made an order, and even then it was a week
late.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think over two months with instructing
solicitors as competent as yours is more than is required.
You should call your evidence that week, if you wish to
call any at all. We will resume at 10.30 on Wednesday
morning.
