Day 062 - 06 Dec 94 - Page 34
there is a sandwich in between the material, they will pick
it out but not other than that, no.

Q. What other kinds of places are they buying in the
post-consumer polystyrene from?
A. They have contacts with various local recycling schemes
that they use, door-to-door collection schemes sometimes.
I have seen that. I could not give you any more detail
than that. That is about what they use.

MR. MORRIS: Just a final thing on this, I cannot remember the
document but I do remember that I did read that document
saying that some things were going to be produced, specific
items. Do you happen to know -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: In fact, it is pink V, tab 39, and
particularly pages 684 and 685.

MR. MORRIS: Before you get to the tab, let me just ask you ---

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do not look for the moment.
A. Okay.

Q. In fact, close the bundle, will you? Thank you,
Mr. Van Erp.

MR. MORRIS: Lin Pac has been producing granulates?
A. Yes.

Q. Since the first day it opened or since some time
afterwards?
A. I could not tell you. I would have to ask them since
when they have exactly been selling their products.

Q. Right. You are not sure really?
A. No, I would not know. I am not their sales manager.

Q. No, I do not know. So, that would have been sometime after
they opened in January 1992, would it? That has been
suggested.
A. They may have actually sold some before they have
opened, I do not know.

Q. They did not because they were not doing the -----
A. They were doing some of the recycling at the point when
I came to visit them or recycling some of the, producing
recycled material.

Q. But the McDonald's material was not recycled until after
they opened, is that correct? I think we have got some
time for that. I cannot remember if it was after the
Garden Festival, whenever that was. I believe it was late
1992, the Garden Festival finished. I cannot remember
whose evidence it was in now -- was it Mr. Oakley?
A. Possibly.

Q. Mr. Oakley said: "The plant opened in January 1992, then
after that McDonald's commenced a recycling programme of
its polystyrene products. Prior to that time it was not
possible for the company to recycle polystyrene because
