Day 074 - 16 Jan 95 - Page 25

made by letter or verbally or over the telephone?
       A. That is inclusive, all three -- all three together.

  Q. In roughly what proportions?
       A. There were only three, four occasions when they had
them, so I think three of them, so I cannot say whether one
was higher than the other, so it was 1.33 per cent.

  Q. So you say there was only about one of each?
       A. Yes, if there are four complaints and there are medias,
so they are bound to be a unit, one each, I think. Because
I remember some coming in, and I think that there might be
one or two in those two years, a environment/index.html">litter one.

  Q. Mrs. Linda Wells and Dr. Taylor both visited the store; is
       that right?
       A. Both visited the store on the candle lit dinner.

  Q. Is that the only time they visited the store?
       A. Miss Linda Wells, yes, but Dr. Taylor, I used to bump
into him in the street and basically say "hello", but he
has visited me in the store. I do not remember whether he
came in apart from that occasion.

  Q. Apart from the candle lit dinner?
       A. Yes, apart from the candle lit dinner, because
I believe he lives in Royal Avenue and we used to bump into
       each other.

  Q. When you spoke to him did he say anything about the environment/index.html">litter
       then?
       A. No, he never raised any problem with the environment/index.html">litter. He
       never raised that issue.

  Q. You have said in paragraph (3) that you recall (and you
have given this in evidence as well) a complaint on a
Saturday afternoon about environment/index.html">litter; that you went around there
       and there was a straw?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Where was the straw, did you say?
       A. It was in Smith Street.

  Q. In the road?
       A. In front of the house; it was on the pavement.

  Q. Was that the only visit that you made to residents'
       addresses when they made complaints?
       A. One telephone call -- I have no idea who made it -- but
there was one cup with ice in it that I picked up.

  Q. Right. Which street was that in, do you know?
       A. It was in, is it, Woodfall, the one which runs behind,
adjoining Royal Avenue and Smith Street. If I look at the
map, I might be able to actually .....

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Is that St. Leonard's?
       A. I think it is Woodfall Street -- Woodfall Street.

  Q. Does Woodfall Street actually go right through Royal Avenue
