Day 265 - 19 Jun 96 - Page 46

       A. No. Not specifically. It was to attend the meetings
       and to become accepted.

  Q. Right. So that was left to your own firm. They just said
"Do whatever you have got to do in order to become
       accepted"?
       A. It was, yes. It was open, the instruction were simply
to attempt to become an accepted member of London
Greenpeace or attend their meetings in that pursuit to
attempt to identify those involved with the group and
primarily those involved with the antiMcDonald's campaign.

  Q. Nothing was ruled out and there was nothing: "You must do
       this." ?
       A. There was not any such discussion.

  Q. There was nothing like: "Whatever you do, do not hand out
       any antiMcDonald's leaflets"?
       A. There was no such discussion to or not to.

  Q. Right. There is various references in your note to take
letters that had been sent to London Greenpeace. Were you
given any instructions about whether or not you should
carry out that type of activity?
       A. I do not recall a specific instructions other than
       - no, I do not. I do not, sir.

  Q. You do not recall being told that you must not take letters
to the group or anything like that?
       A. No. The instructions were to establish or identify
those involved with the group and or where the leaflets,
particularly the fact sheet complained of, where that was
       mentioned. Any details concerning that.

  Q. Right. But say, for example, the first time you took -- I
mean there are various references in your notes to where
you have taken letters. When you took them away with you,
       what happened to them?
       A. They were photocopied.

  Q. You gave them to?
       A. My principals.

  Q. Your bosses?
       A. And they were photocopied.

  Q. Right and then what happened?
       A. They would be returned.

  Q. Who by?
       A. By myself.

  Q. How many letters did you take over the course of the time
that you were going to meetings?
       A. I do not recall, sir

  Q. 20, 50, a 100?
       A. No. I do not recall but, perhaps, this would be a
guess, about half-a-dozen. I mean, I really do not
recall. The letters that I did take, to clarify, would
