Day 259 - 10 Jun 96 - Page 82

  Q. In this case?
       A. Yes, it is.

  Q. Is there anything that we, who were not at these meetings
at Caledonian Road or Endsleigh Street -- we were not at
the meeting on 2nd August which was attended by Mr. Morris
and Ms. Steel -- is there anything we can learn which
would, as it were, colour the picture for us about
Mr. Morris and his leading role in this group from how we
have seen him behave in court?
       A. There is nothing I have seen this morning that could
really put a colouration to that statement.

  Q. Is there anything, as it were, we should unlearn from how
we have been seeing him in court today, for example?
       A. The only impression that I would get is that maybe
London Greenpeace was not as an effective an organisation
       as it appeared to be.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Keep your voice up, I cannot hear.
       A. I am sorry. The only impression I might gain is that
London Greenpeace was not quite as an effective
organisation as it was thought to be at the time.

MR. RAMPTON: Yes. Only one other thing: Behind your first
statement, Mr. Bishop -- sorry about this, it will be more
orderly tomorrow -- there are some appendices, the third of
       which should look like that?
       A. Yes, it does.

  Q. You tell us that this is a meeting at Caledonian Road and
       you tell us -----

MS. STEEL: I missed what was held up. Right, I see.

MR. RAMPTON: "During the course of the meeting leaflets,
including 'What's Wrong With McDonald's?' leaflets" -- this
is paragraph 12 of your first statement -- "a copy of which
is at appendix 3, were kept in shelves on one side of the
       room".
       A. Yes.

  Q. "This leaflet was the group's main document concerning
McDonald's, copies of which were kept in a filing cabinet.
Sometimes the longer version of the leaflet was out of
stock, but shorter versions were available".

My Lord, Mr. Riley's exhibit box is what I need at this
moment and he does not seem to be in court, because I need
to show Mr. Bishop one of the originals.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I cannot find, while that is being done, 9th
       August 1990 notes.

MR. MORRIS: They are typewritten, if that is any help.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I go from 27th July to 16th August. The 24th
May and 14th June I have found, but they were behind 8C.

MR. RAMPTON: The reason, my Lord, it has been done in this way
