Day 182 - 02 Nov 95 - Page 50
Mr. Jenssen. You are free to go.

(The witness withdrew)

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Now I would like to talk about the French
witnesses because they are -----

MR. MORRIS: May I just deal with something related to Norway
before we leave that?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MR. MORRIS: Mr. Jenssen brought with him two statements of
disputes, union disputes, in other stores, which he did not
have any direct personal knowledge of, but they are signed
statements, one of which was written in English by the
person concerned in the Pauswoden(?) store. Maybe I should
give it out so people can see what I am talking about.
(Handed).

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Let me have a look at that. Who made the
translation of the second statement?

MR. MORRIS: That was by Mr. Jenssen on his trip over here.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Let me just read that. Yes?

MR. MORRIS: If I could just say, the name on the first sheet
under the signature should be G-E-I-R, first name,

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Where are you now?

MR. MORRIS: This is the first statement from McDonald's case in
Norway.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Start again.

MR. MORRIS: G-E-I-R.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is a special letter.

MR. MORRIS: Yes, O with a slash through it, I-V-I-N-D, and the
last word is G-U-L-L-I-K-S-E-N -- is that Mr.? That is a
Mr. Gulliksen. The other one is a Ms.,
Mrs. O-D-L-O-L-I-E-N. What we would like to do, we do not
have any intention of proposing to call all these people as
witnesses -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You want to serve those under the Civil
Evidence Act?

MR. MORRIS: Under the Civil Evidence Act Notices -- if I can
finish, Mr. Rampton, and say what I intend to do -- to be
honest, I have not spoken to these people, they just wrote
this out because they were asked to say something about
their circumstances. I can see that even as they are they
could do with being asked some questions which I would
propose to ask them through maybe Mr. Jenssen or somebody,
to get a bit more clarity and detail. But, certainly, we
