Day 090 - 16 Feb 95 - Page 40

       smaller ones in particular?
       A. The management of those drinkers is very important and
they must be adjusted to the right height so that birds can
       get water.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, might I communicate with Ms. Steel
       directly?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. How many did you put to Dr. Gregory? I
       have forgotten now.

MS. STEEL: I do not know.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, maybe two or one. I cannot remember
which ones they were. There is one photocopy in the pink
       bundles, but it is hopeless.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I know it is possible now to make pretty good
reproduction colour prints from colour prints. You used
not to be able to. Can that be done with black and white?

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, I do not know. The technical facilities
at Barlows are second to none, I do know that.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Why at the end of the day (unless you want it
tomorrow) do you not let Mrs. Brinley-Codd take them away
and see what can be done? Do you think you will need them
       tomorrow?

MS. STEEL: I doubt it. I have the negatives. I actually
printed these photographs myself, so that is why there are
not loads of copies because it takes ages to do each one.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can you lend Mrs. Brinley-Codd the
       negatives?

MR. RAMPTON: I have to say, without offence, I do not think it
is a very good photocopy at all.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is a lot better than I could do!

MS. STEEL: I am not a very experienced photographer.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Could you lend Mrs. Brinley-Codd the
negatives? Are you anxious about that in any way?

MS. STEEL: I have not got them with me, but I could do,
       I suppose.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think the best thing you can do is -- I do
not suppose a day is going to make any difference -- if you
can bring in the negatives of the two prints which you have
so far produced and lend those to Mrs. Brinley-Codd and she
can make such prints as are required.

MS. STEEL: OK. I do not know whether you can remember, but the
feed system that was in that -- have you still got the
       photograph?
       A. Yes, I have.
