Day 209 - 25 Jan 96 - Page 67

  Q. That is not -----
       A. That would be the drinks towers. We had a couple of
leaks and water used to come out of the front.

  Q. OK. OK, I will leave that one.
       A. It does appear again in the rap session after or
       before.

  Q. I think it is on page 225.
       A. "Grease trap does not fit".

  Q. Page 238, which is 24th February 95, actually that is after
       you left, so ---
       A. Right.

  Q. -- it is probably not worth asking you about that.
       A. I mentioned it because it just seemed to be a
       continually never ending problem.

  Q. Yes. You actually said in your statement it was broken for
approximately three months until you left. So that was in
your statement; so it was still broken when you left?
       A. At the time, yes.

  Q. If you just turn to the front of tab 10 -- I will try to
whip through these -- 16th January 1992, under "Equipment"
it says, "McD toasters need replacing, keep breaking down
and bun boards keep falling off and burning people". Do
you recall those things as problems around that time?
       A. Yes, again I am not sure about dates but if, you know,
it is the date there but I remember around that period, you
know, like I say, that was the time I fixed a couple of
toasters, and I do remember the crowns of Big Macs have to
go underneath a metal board that is just held in place, and
you lift it up and take the crowns back out. But this
board would just, could just slip down and this thing was
made of metal and it was very heavy, and it was extremely
hot. If you touched it, it was probably the hotest thing
in the store. It was 450 degrees or 420 degrees
Fahrenheit, the platens. So this metal thing on top of it
became very hot indeed and it used to slip down, and people
used to -- if they were busy doing, like I said before, a
12.00/6.00, a very fast run, it could easily slip down and
       burn them.

  Q. Right. I do not know but ------
       A. There is no guard.

  Q. Sorry?
       A. There was no guard on the front of it. I am not sure
whether it was meant to have one or anything, but the new
Mctoaster we got in 94, beginning of 94 or late 93, that
had a guard on it. That was a brand new toaster, but the
ones before they did not have guards on ---

  Q. Right.
       A. -- or not guards that I can see.

  Q. To save time, throughout the rap sessions -- you have
