Day 260 - 11 Jun 96 - Page 50

  Q. But there are no note of it in your notes, and you did say
you would have made a note of it had, you know, had I been
doing something particularly noteworthy. I mean, you have
got Mr. Morris talking about the business side of things,
but there is no note about anything else that was said by
       anybody.
       A. No specific item, no.

  Q. Bearing in mind you were specifically looking out for what
myself and Mr. Morris were doing?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Would you basically agree that what is in paragraph 7 and 8
is -- well, it is not from -- is an assumption, or
       something, that you have made?
       A. No, there is no assumption. That is the impression
that I had at the time.

  Q. But we are talking about three years later, because it was
not in your notes and it was not until three years later
       that you made your statement?
       A. Yes, I agree.

  Q. So what was the impression from?
       A. My impression from, in that case, my memories at the
       time of the occasion.

  Q. Could you say that it was a memory of that specific meeting
or it might have been other meetings?
       A. There is somewhere -- this 7 and 8, or 8 in particular,
there is somewhere a report that talks about the design of
the leaflet in particular, and I cannot see it in the notes
       for 2nd August.

  Q. Unless maybe it is the part that is blanked out under
       number 4. (Pause)

MR. JUSTICE BELL: There you are. You have made your point. We
have nothing in the notes we have seen that is more or less
       a contemporaneous record of that.

MR. MORRIS: Can I ask a question? I seem to have the -----

MS. STEEL: At the time when you made your statement, you would
have been asked for specific recollections about myself and
Mr. Morris, because we were the only people against whom
the action was proceeding at that time?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Was it generally the case that people who had not been to
very many meetings would not really tend to say a lot?
I mean, they might say bits and pieces, like you said
something, but, generally, until people sort of found their
feet, they would not really say much?
       A. Yes, I would say that is probably true.

  Q. Incidentally, the list that you have referred to of
organisations to be present at the fair, you say, was
       prepared by Charlie and Jane?
