Day 259 - 10 Jun 96 - Page 80
them at the back of yellow 2, is there any danger in doing
that?

MR. RAMPTON: No, I do not think there is any at all. I wish
I had done it.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I do not know whether that is what Ms. Steel
and Mr. Morris have done, or they put them in chronological
order for each witness.

MS. STEEL: For each witness, but it would not matter.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Unless there is any danger, what I will do is
put all mine in chronological order from beginning to end
regardless of which witness they relate to, but as I take
them out of this file I will write the witness' name on the
top so I can see whose notes they are. In that way I will
be able to find them. If it is Mr. So and So, such and
such a date, I should be able to turn them up more quickly.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, I will do exactly the same thing and then
I shall not get into this muddle again. Will your Lordship
prefer to do it yourself?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I will do it myself, because the exercise
itself might be useful to me.

MR. RAMPTON: Yes. Mr. Bishop, I am sorry, I have got my
documents in my own special order which is why yours is
different. At the back of your last statement, which is
8D, there should be a whole lot of notes beginning on 24th
May?
A. Yes, I have those.

Q. Is that right?
A. Yes.

Q. The first three pages are 24th May, the next three pages
are 14th June?
A. Yes.

Q. Yes?
A. Yes.

Q. There are two after that which are 16th June.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That is where I start at the moment.

MR. RAMPTON: In fact, there are four relating to 16th June
because in the light of the new allegation about the George
Roby, my Lord, we made additional discovery in the second
page of 16th June.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think what I will do is I will put all my
notes together in chronological order overnight. If, at
any stage, someone refers to notes and I cannot find them,
I will just ask for copies and insert them in the
appropriate place.

MR. RAMPTON: Then, Mr. Bishop, is there a handwritten note for
