       to seek advice beforehand.

  Q. Did you ask for a transfer to another store?
       A. I inquired with another Store Manager, yes, and I very
seriously considered it. On talking to other Managers
within my own store, I decided it would be better to leave
than do something about the situation there (sic).

  Q. You decided it would be better to leave?
       A. Yes -- sorry. It would be better not to leave and do
       something about the situation.

  Q. You are good friends with Sean Richards; yes?
       A. From the point of view of working together, yes,
       I suppose.

  Q. I mean, of all the people in the store, you are
       particularly friendly with Sean?
       A. Not especially. I get on with all of the management
team. I get on with pretty much most of the crew.

  Q. But you get on particularly well with Sean Richards?
I mean, you get on with everybody, you say, but you get on
particularly well with Sean Richards? I am not saying he
may be your best friend, but you get on particularly well
       with him?
       A. Yes, I suppose I get on particularly well with him; not
any more so than anyone else, though.

  Q. Do you ever go drinking with him?
       A. I have been drinking with all of the management team
and probably 90 per cent of the crew at one point or
another. I would not say I go out drinking with Sean on a
regular basis. We may go out once a month at the most.

  Q. You have been getting the shifts that you wanted, you have
       said; yes?
       A. Yes, I agree with that.

  Q. You say you have been treated pretty well; that is the
general drift of your statement, is it not?
       A. Reasonably so, yes.

  Q. You have been treated reasonably well, but you were
disenchanted. What is the advantage of -- I mean, it may
be an obvious question -- getting promoted?
       A. For me, it was a more interesting job; so, therefore, a
greater job satisfaction. I got stuck in a rut and I was
not enjoying the job any more.

  Q. The pay goes up as well, presumably?
       A. Yes, it increases, but, because of the length of time
I have been there, it is not that much of an increase.

  Q. Just to go back to your time when you were at school: you
finished school in June 1994; is that correct?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Were you attending school daily in that last year when you
       retook your -----
