Day 067 - 15 Dec 94 - Page 30

different countries which had McDonald's restaurants?
       A. I do not know, to be honest.

MS. STEEL: You did not ask Mr. Simmonds?
       A. Excuse me?

  Q. You did not ask Mr. Simmonds about it?
       A. I do not recall having that conversation, no.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Let us go back to the briefcase then. What
is it which is in the briefcase on this topic? What were
you referring to? I thought you said there were some
       documents?
       A. What I have in my briefcase is the code of practices
and I believe it is from the UK. I do not know when they
were developed, but it will give an indication of the
things that I was looking for when I developed the form.
I was not looking for forms. I was looking for policies,
I was looking for interpretation and not necessarily
forms. I knew it would be -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I think you had better just fish them out
because, if they are exactly the same as we have already
got, there we, but if there is something new, we ought to
just see them. Can someone give you your briefcase?

MS. STEEL: Perhaps if there is anything else in the briefcase
that is relevant, it might be appropriate to get it out now
       rather than later.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What I think you should do is before you go
off for some lunch, Dr. Gomez Gonzalez -- we may break off
at, say, five to -- will you just tell Mrs. Brinley-Codd
what you have in the briefcase so far as documentation
which might relate, however indirectly, to this case is
       concerned?
       A. I would be glad to.

  Q. Do you mind doing that? Not your private papers,
       obviously.
       A. I do have some private papers that are not related to
       this.

  Q. No, I am only interested in any documentation which may
relate to the issues in this case.
       A. OK, I will be glad to.

  Q. For the moment, though, perhaps you could just find the
       documents you had in mind.
       A. Should I give it to you? (Handed).

  Q. It is all over the signature of Dr. Mark Pattison and dated
March 1993. So, let Mr. Rampton and Ms. Steel and
Mr. Morris see it. It may immediately be familiar to them
as a document which we already have or it may not.

What I suggest is, it is on the face of it a UK document
        ---

  MR. RAMPTON: Yes.
