Day 035 - 12 Oct 94 - Page 36
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Where I do find it?

MR. RAMPTON: I do not know where your Lordship -- it is an
article from "Nature". It was handed to me as part of the
materials upon which Professor Crawford relied. I do not
believe any reference was made to it at the time.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have put all his references behind
my -- what is its title?

MR. RAMPTON: It is called "The search for the causes of breast
and colon cancer". It is a review article from "Nature"
of the 30th March 1989.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Everything which came with Professor
Crawford's statement I have put in behind his statement.

MR. MORRIS: We have it down as No. 20. In fact, I have two
copies of it for some reason.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: The ones I have behind him I get to the
Scottish Diet, then a little later Nutritional Status of
Schoolchildren in an Inner City Area.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, it is confusing because he did two
things; he put some enclosures with his statement, which
were, I think, about four or three, then at the end of the
statement there is a list of references. Before he was
called we were handed some of the papers referred to.
Your Lordship may remember that I asked for the others.
The references are to be found on pages 11 and 12 of his
supplementary statement.

MS. STEEL: If you have any of the scientific references other
than the enclosures they are in alphabetical order by the
author. So, it is towards the back.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Was I told to put them in a particular
bundle? That is all I am asking.

MR. RAMPTON: I did not put it anywhere. I put all these
things behind Professor Crawford's supplementary
statement. As Ms. Steel says, they go in alphabetical,
not chronological, order starting with a statement by
Braden and Carroll.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have a copy here but at the moment, at the
risk of wasting time, I am more concerned that I know
where things are, so that when I come to look at them out
of hours, or something like that, I know where I an
actually find things. You see, what I have behind his
statement after page 15 is something which was enclosure
1. Then I have "Unsaturated Fatty Acids", then I have
"The Scottish Diet", then I have "World Health, eat
wisely, live well"; then I have his article on "Fat
animals, fat humans". Then I have got "Traditional Status
of Schoolchildren". Then I have "Nutritional Status of
Schoolchildren". That is that.

MS. STEEL: I think I remember now actually there were two
