MR. RAMPTON: Pink, my Lord, yes. That is Crew Handbook for
       that year.

                      Re-Examined by Mr. Rampton Q.C.

  Q. Mr. Davis, could you put away that yellow file, please, and
replace it with a bright blue one, Defendants' list of
documents, bundle IV, which you have had before? Turn to
what you will see as tab 17, please.
       A. Yes.

  Q. In that tab -- I can tell you now, although you do not
have the page numbers, there are 47 pages -- I would like
you to turn to the second page, please, where I hope you
will find, I do not know what it is, it is a payroll slip,
perhaps, for Mr. Alimi. Do you see that?
       A. Yes.

  Q. For, as it happens on this occasion, the fortnight ending
       11th January 1986. Yes?
       A. That is correct, yes.

  Q. If you look in the top row, the fourth box has the number
of hours, do you see that?
       A. Yes.

  Q. 71.91 hours. I am not quite sure, I suppose that is
decimal. Then 71 the next fortnight which is the bottom
       left page?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Next page, 88.84?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Bottom of that page 98.94?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Next page 76.58?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Bottom of the page 82.57?
       A. Yes.

  Q. The next page 93.73, I think it is?
       A. Yes.

  Q. And then bottom of the page 73.33 and so on. I am not
going to go through them all. My question is this: From
your recollection, Mr. Davis, it is clear that Mr. Alimi
worked quite a large number of hours during the time he was
at McDonald's, though they drop away a bit towards the end
of his time, so far as these sheets tell us anything.
Would he have been regarded by you as a full-time worker?
       A. Yes, he would.

  Q. As a full-time worker, how many days a week on average,
apart from holidays, do you think he worked?
       A. Five.
