Day 267 - 21 Jun 96 - Page 35

the demonstration some trouble had broken out, and you have
got completely the wrong end of the stick or decided to
completely exaggerate what was going on and written it down
in the manner that you have written it down?
       A. I disagree.

  Q. You do not remember what I actually said now, do you?
       A. Not at all, no.

  Q. You were not very careful about the notes that you wrote
       after the meetings, were you?
       A. In what respect?

  Q. You just, you know, exaggerate things, write down things
that did not happen, leave things out and just generally
you were not very careful about what you noted?
       A. I completely disagree with that. I made notes that
came to my mind as soon as I was able to write them
       following the meetings.

  Q. Mr. Pocklington was at this meeting. He did not remember
and he did not note either that I had admitted to rioting
in all these places at that meeting?
       A. I cannot comment on what Mr. Pocklington may or may
       not have written.

  Q. No, but you can comment on what you wrote, and the fact is
       you got it wrong?
       A. No, not at all. I disagree.

  Q. Then the next item you have got is Paul: "He also attended
all of the above but did not admit to any rioting.
Mentioned that organic printers had printed 10,000
antiMcDonald's leaflets by mistake. They had an order from
Highbury and Islington Animal Rights Group for the above
amounts." It should actually be Hackney and Islington.
So that is something you have got wrong again and you got
wrong Organic Press, despite the fact that you have
referred to it in previous notes as Aldgate Press?
       A. Perhaps it was mentioned as Organic Press on that
       occasion. I do not recall.

  Q. I put it to you that your memory of this meeting was
       distinctly bad?
       A. I disagree.

MR. MORRIS: Are you saying that Paul Gravett did not know the
name of the printers or which group he was involved in?
       A. No. I am saying that from what was said that night I
have made notes of Organic Press.

  Q. So, when you said about Paul, and then you have a lot of
points underneath Paul, you are saying that, in fact, it
was not all down to Paul, that other people were actually
       contributing to that report?
       A. No. I would have made notes in the car whereby I
named those persons present and, from recollection, what
       they would have said.

  Q. Are you saying that Paul said those things under his name?
