Day 267 - 21 Jun 96 - Page 66
MS. STEEL: Yes. Sorry. You are not able to identify
positively the copy of the leaflet which you took from that
meeting?
A. Whatever--

Q. If indeed you took one?
A. Whatever leaflet was taken from that meeting would
have been kept by me and passed to Mr. Spears at the first
opportunity and told on what date and how that leaflet was
taken, and as far as I am aware he would have documented
that in his report to ----

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, I am sorry. There has been a muddle.
Somebody has misread the statement. AC is attached it may
or may not matter it is attached to the old

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is 22nd February. It is my fault. Yes.
I have missed paragraph 8. Thank you.

MS. STEEL: You did not write on the leaflets your initials on
the leaflet or make any identifying marks?
A. No, I did not. The leaflets and from recollection the
letters to be copied were copied and the leaflets given to
Mr. Spears when it was possible because as far as I am
aware he prepared the reports for the instructing
solicitors and as far as I am aware he would have dated or
would have made reference to when they were collected.

Q. So you have no means of identifying which leaflet it was,
if it was put in front of you at this stage?
A. It would have been from recollection a leaflet either
the multisided leaflet, or a single page.

Q. The short A5 version?
A. But I am relying upon the notes that I made and on
whatever I gave to Mr. Spears at that time.

Q. Right. OK.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: But as I understood you to say, what did you
understand the leaflet to be complained of to be?
A. The leaflet complained of to be the multisided
document.

Q. In your second statement, it will be in tab B think?
A. Thank you.

Q. When you refer to the 15th March, 1990 and you say about
Mr. Gravett having these leaflets delivered to his house,
he also showed everyone a T-shirt that had been sent from a
very well organised antiMcDonald's store. What is an
antiMcDonald's store?
A. I do not know what the store is there.

Q. Can I suggest to you, you have got that wrong?
A. Store is probably a typographical error, yes.

Q. It is in fact, in your note, I think it actually does read
"group."
A. Group, yes. I can barely make it out though.
