MR. MORRIS: But you did say that records are taken, not
necessarily automatically, it depends on the issue?
A. I cannot comment upon what occurs now at the moment.

Q. No, when you were there?
A. When I was, I used to my own minutes. I used to take
little notes about what was said, so if it was necessary
for me to take particular action I had the notes in front
of me, but I would not expect to get formal minutes of
meetings, and no one was there to take formal minutes of
the meetings.

Q. Who did the report to the Board of directors about all the
important matters that were discussed at the policy-making
body of McDonald's Restaurants Limited when were you
involved with it?
A. I suppose when I started Bob Rhea would be the person
who did it, but very quickly afterwards, when Bob retired,
and Paul took. Paul Preston makes the presentation to the
Board on -----

Q. Presumably, therefore, he would have to make a full record
of the meeting, otherwise he would not be able to report,
would he?
A. No, every Department Head runs his own department, and
about two months before the Board meeting is due to sit
Paul sends out little memo -- he calls them
"one-liners" -- "give me your one-liners on your
achievements, changes of policy etc. over the last six
months", and each head of department sits down and writes
out his own one-liners, which generally turn out to be a
page to the department. They forward them to Paul. Paul
uses them as his basis for his Board presentation. That is
recorded because that needs to be. That is a legal
requirement.

Q. So all the important policy decisions are recorded in the
presentation to the Board of Directors which is recorded?
A. Yes.

MR. MORRIS: We are just checking through if there are any other
matters. One question, we are not sure if an admission has
been made regarding the pleading to do with Sarah Stibbard
and the accident she suffered. It is not in the
compilation of admissions. Can I ask Mrs. Brinley-Codd if
she remembers?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You will have to remind me what that was?

MR. MORRIS: I cannot remember which pleading.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What happened to Sarah Stibbard.

MR. MORRIS: I am just trying to find where the pleading is.
Our understanding is -- we are just checking for it.

MS. STEEL: Pleadings on page 28 says: "In the UK in or around
May 1991 Sarah Stibbard was injured at the Bexley Heath
branch and received a pay settlement for her injuries". I
