Day 166 - 28 Sep 95 - Page 25
A. Yes.

Q. Right.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: An OCL does review your performance even if
it is a not a formal performance review?
A. Yes.

MS. STEEL: You said there were, I think, out of between 110
and 200 crew members six crew who were earning over £3 an
hour, yes?
A. Yes.

Q. Were they the lobby hostesses or the kind of equivalent to
-- I think there is some parallel position to that as
well, is there not?
A. Administration assistants, one was a morning cleaner.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can I just pause, are you saying that those
six were other than normal crew?
A. None -- no, I was making that reference in terms of not
being managers. I probably had about eight or 10 floor
managers that were on over that amount of money, but that
reference to six people would be people that were not
managers.

MS. STEEL: So they might be lobby hosts, training squads?
A. Admin Assistants, a morning cleaner, yes.

Q. Right.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If it might have some importance, is what you
are saying then that they would not be ordinary crew
members?
A. I was only answering the point that -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Forget what the point is. I am just seeking
information. Were there any ordinary crew members, that
is, someone who was not a member of the training squad, or
a lobby host, ordinary crew working on the tills or in
kitchens or cleaning up tables, who were earning £3 or
more?
A. The answer to that would be no.

MS. STEEL: Do you know what the purpose of clock-cards being
divided into 100 units was?
A. What the purpose was?

Q. Yes, rather than being 60, 60, I cannot remember whether it
was seconds or minutes -- minutes?
A. Yes, 50 units would be half hour.

Q. Right, but do you know why it was not just 30 minutes?
A. I suppose because it was not like a digital computer.
It was a punch card system. I suppose it can be as
accurate as what we have today in terms of -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What occurs to me is that 60 is not -- the
one minute is not refined enough, you want to be more
precise than that?
