Day 115 - 06 Apr 95 - Page 53
Sun Valley are quite different, are they not, from those
which you gave when you were interviewed about this by Sun
Valley in 1993?
A. I do not think so, no. Then again I cannot remember,
but I can remember the facts when Stewart Rhoney came to
collect his equipment what was probably in a file at home
where Stewart Rhoney named the items that they supplied to
whatever, when I took a pair of gloves to Tom Ingles which
was bought in the City and said: "Can you tell me, are
these your gloves?" He said: "Get out of my office and do
not be stupid. They can be bought freely anywhere. Get
out from here". He said: "You know, what are you trying
to do?" I said: "I am trying to prove a point that all
these gloves do not belong to Sun Valley".

Q. But they did, did they not?
A. They did not. I will say again, if this property was
so sure of Sun Valley's, the Police had them in their
possession, why was I not prosecuted for stealing their
property? They take people to court and prosecute them for
pinching nuts and bolts out of there. Here I am with,
what, £500 worth of equipment belonging to them, why did
they not prosecute me if it was theirs? I never heard such
a nonsense in all my life.

Q. You are angry, are you not, that you were sacked in that
way?
A. I am not angry at having the sack. I was annoyed at
the way it was done.

Q. That is why you spoke to Animal Aid and that is why ---
A. No.

Q. -- you are here to tell us this fanciful story about the
way that the birds were treated?
A. I do not think it is a fancy story. It is true to
life. If you ask me in 20 years time, I will tell you the
same again because I have seen it with my own two eyes.

MR. RAMPTON: So I hear you say, I am grateful.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you have any re-examination?

THE WITNESS: I would like to say one thing. I am stood here
today being accused of stealing. The people that has made
these allegations to your Worship there, could they make
the allegations to myself and I will see if I can get it
sorted?

MR. MORRIS: We have no further questions.

MS. STEEL: No further questions.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Thank you, Mr. Bruton.

(The witness withdrew)

MS. STEEL: There was something I wanted to bring up which was
I wanted to put a Civil Evidence Act Notice on the document
I served earlier from Sun Valley.
