Day 261 - 12 Jun 96 - Page 29
there were many dates, and they blend somewhat.

Q. Then if you turn to tab 7B -- you have now been reduced,
I am afraid, to Roy Pocklington, which is, as I understand
it, incorrect. If you turn to the last page of that, you
see your signature again, and this time the date is
17th May 1995, about two years after the first one. Do you
see that?
A. Yes, I see that.

Q. Then, finally, behind that there are a number of notes made
by you. Then, finally, tab 7C. This time you have been
abbreviated on this occasion correctly, statement of
Antony Pocklington. Do you see that?
A. I do, yes.

Q. If you turn to the pack of that, which is page 7?
A. Yes.

Q. We see your name again, and we have moved forward again
roughly a year to 15th May 1996?
A. Yes, that is correct.

Q. Is that right? Can you tell us, starting with the first
statement made in June 1993, do you remember what the basis
for that statement was?
A. I am sorry, I do not quite understand you.

Q. It is perhaps not very clearly asked. Did you do this
completely from memory, this statement, or how did you do
it?
A. It was done referring to the notes that I had made at
the time.

Q. Was the statement put in front of you and you were asked to
sign it; or how did it happen; was there a session with a
solicitor, or what?
A. There was a session with a solicitor, and I was asked
to read the statement to make any amendments that I needed
to, and to sign it as corrected if I found it so.

Q. If you look on page 3 of the statement, right at the top,
it is the last sentence of paragraph 7, there is in fact an
amendment. Do you see that?

MR. MORRIS: Sorry, what page -- the first statement?

MR. RAMPTON: Yes, top of the page, page 3. Do you see that?
A. I do not on the first statement, no.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. Right back at the beginning of
divider 7.

MR. RAMPTON: Tab 7.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: The top of page 3.
A. Yes, I see that now.

MR. RAMPTON: There are some initials in the margin. Did you
make that alteration?
