even less than that, and they are meant to be minus 20.
They changed the seals on these freezers occasionally, to
try and improve it, but it never improved; they were always
below what they should have been, or above what they should
have been. The page after -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Hold on. What is the page after?
       A. It is the more detailed things that -----

  Q. Mr. Morris has not got to that.
       A. Right, OK.

MR. MORRIS: Shall we move on to that one? If there is anything
in this at all -- I will read out what I have written, and
if there is anything at all which is inaccurate or needs
clarifying in your own words, please stop me.

"Further details to be referred to by Michael Logan" -- and
this was submitted as notes from me, based on an interview
with you, and the notes were submitted date
       20th January 1996.

"1. Sean Richards, in or around 1992, altered people's
       hours worked."
       A. Sorry, can I stop you already? Knowing that I started
in April 1989, I assume that must be 1991, in or around
1991, not 1992. But everything else is right.

  Q. OK. "...in or around 1991, altered people's hours worked
by amending the adjustment report on a night shift/close
       using the Husky."
       A. I am pretty sure at that time Mr. Richards was a Floor
Manager, like I became, a shift running Floor Manager, and
I think he was using the Store Manager's code. It was when
Alan Munroe ran the store, and I think he was using
Alan Munroe's code, because he did not have his own code to
close down the system, so he used Alan's. It is like I
used to run shifts and I used to have to use other
Managers' codes to close the system down, because I did not
have my own. So I think that is why, you know, he did it,
I think, knowing that there was no comeback.

  Q. He says in his statement that he was promoted to Floor
Manager and then to salaried Manager around August 1990.
       A. I do not -- to my memory, he was not promoted in
August 1990 to salaried. I think he was still a Floor
Manager then. But when this occurred he was definitely
       still a Floor Manager.

  Q. I will carry on reading. "People were docked hours or
minutes they had worked. He saw this occur on one" -- that
is you, sorry -- "saw this occur on one occasion with many
crew names chosen at random. Sean Richards laughed about
       saving labour costs."
       A. I mentioned that earlier, did I not?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. I had assumed that was the incident you
       were referring to earlier.
       A. Yes.
