  Q. Then they get the teaching and then after that they get a
       handout?
       A. Yes, that is correct.

  Q. That is a written thing, is it?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. Not a sum of money?
       A. No.

  Q. "The content was revised in May 1991 and our open learning
package...(reads to the words)... prior to May 1991
up-to-date. Judith Chapman, store manager, attended the
AEC in April 1990 and attended a class covering the open
learning package in early 1992, as did the store area
supervisor and operations manager. Information on the
dangers of electricity is also given in MDP" -- that is the
       Management Development Programme?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. Part II, is that right?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. Then you write: "Floor managers are given very brief
information on electrical hazards in the floor managers'
post package which has only been issued recently." We
looked at that earlier today, did we not?
       A. We did, yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: The young man who rewired the plug was Robert
       Chapman?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. And the store manager was Judith Chapman?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Were they any relation?
       A. No, they are not related.

  Q. It was not a younger brother or anything like that?
       A. No.

MR. RAMPTON: Then you write, "We do not train floor managers or
second assistants on the basic operations course how to
deal with electrical isolation or electrical shock. We
have shift running managers who have not received training
in how to deal with these type of emergencies."

Now, the first question, Mrs. Barnes, why were they not
getting that training as a matter of course and the second
       question, was any change made?
       A. They were not getting it as a matter of course. An
oversight maybe. But certainly afterwards we made changes
       to the information.

  Q. We?
       A. We made changes to the information, and in every
restaurant there would have been at least one manager who
had been through the advanced equipment course and usually
