MR. MORRIS: Yes, I have it, thank you. According to
Mr. Gibney -- this is to refresh your memory -- "Vicky
Golding was a part-time member while studying at the
Colchester Institute. She was working on a grill during a
busy lunch-time period and someone was mopping the floor by
her feet. This caused her to slip forwards towards the
grill, both forearms landing firmly on the grills 350C", is
that Centigrade, "metal grill surface. She was taken to
hospital in a taxi and treated for burns on both forearms
roughly seven inches by two inches". Does that ------

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I would like you to read on because there is
something in the last paragraph which might just help
       Mr. Davis.

MR. MORRIS: "Vicky was due to go on a foreign holiday in the
next few days and was told by the hospital that she should
stay out of the sun. She discussed some sort of
compensation with the Store Manager, Ray Koten" ---

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That is the part.

MR. MORRIS: -- "but was persuaded against it by the payment of
some form of bonus as hush money".

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you remember Mr. Koten?
       A. Mr. Koten was the Manager. He took over as Restaurant
Manager after I was promoted to Supervisor.

  Q. If Mr. Gibney's account is correct, it looks as if it
happened after you became Area Supervisor and were no
       longer Store Manager?
       A. I would agree with that, yes, sir.

MR. MORRIS: But you were still Area Supervisor for that store?
       A. Certainly, yes.

  Q. According to Mr. Stanton's evidence, the Area Supervisor
would be in close touch with all the important matters that
were going on in that store?
       A. Yes, I would, yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Should you have been told? If something
happened like that, should you have been told by the Store
Manager or someone at the store?
       A. I should have been, yes.

MR. MORRIS: Mr. Alimi indicates it may actually have been
while you were still Manager, if we could find the date.
I do not know if the Plaintiffs can help on that, what the
date of the accident was, as recorded in the Accident
       Book?

MR. RAMPTON: I should think it is probable that Mr. Gibney has
it wrong again, my Lord, the dates seem to be the -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I wonder if it matters, because we will, no
doubt, hear some more evidence about it in due course. If
you were actually Store Manager, obviously, you should have
