MR. MORRIS: Just one question, the standards here, you said
McKey's has a good relationship with their suppliers and
stronger specifications. Is the general bacterial
infection in this country of beef supplies to McDonald's
lower than in other countries because of their particularly
good relationship?
A. That is very difficult to estimate because of the
testing procedures, because of the different types of
methodologies to test. It is difficult, but I would assume
that they, yes, they do have probably a better
microbiological level than the US. I would speculate that
that is the case.

MS. STEEL: Some of your beef supplies come from the ConAgra
Montfort plant in Grand Island, Nebraska?
A. They are not our beef suppliers. They are -- they have
abattoirs who supply the meat that may not supply us with
beef. But, yes, they supply to us. Do they supply today
-- probably so, yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do they supply you with meat of any kind?
A. Yes, they do.

Q. What, pork?
A. No, beef.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Then I am confused by your last answer.

MR. MORRIS: They do not supply you directly but they supply
your suppliers?
A. That is correct.

MS. STEEL: The Montfort plant, sorry, the Montfort operation,
has five plants around the country, has it not?
A. I am not sure how many plants they have.

Q. Is it one of the largest beef producers in the world?
A. In the world?

Q. Yes.
A. I cannot answer. It is a big supplier, yes, it is.

Q. I do not know if it is easier if the witness gets the
document out.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Which document is it?

MS. STEEL: It is Defence documents.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Let us identify it, then we may have our
break.

MS. STEEL: Defence document 116 from the original bundles.

MR. RAMPTON: Bundle IV, my Lord.

THE WITNESS: What is the tab number?

MS. STEEL: 116. It starts on the fourth page of that
