Day 099 - 08 Mar 95 - Page 45
(To the witness): But it is made up in England, not
France.
A. This was from Hereford. This was before the factory
burnt down.

MR. RAMPTON: But it is not been conceivable that somebody
educated abroad might be working there?
A. They do have a number of French employees.

MR. MORRIS: Mr. Rampton has asked a question. Presumably,
these results are not just one out of five tests from a
sample; they must have been a result of a whole -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Leave Mr. Rampton to continue with it. If
you have something which puzzles you, then ask Mr. Kenny
when you come to it. Since you have raised it, Mr. Rampton
may choose to follow it and you must not hesitate to
interrupt if you are not sure where we are or which
document. Resist the temptation ---

MR. MORRIS: It is just some answers ....

MR. JUSTICE BELL: -- to ask for elaboration.

MR. MORRIS: It is more clarification, really.

MR. RAMPTON: Do you know, Mr. Kenny, whether that is just one
sample or whether it represents a whole range of samples at
the precise figure of 770,000?
A. That was the highest recorded individual result.

Q. Suppose that you had had a dozen results showing 770,000 in
the dark meat or in all the meat, would it give you any
cause for concern?
A. It is certainly not a concern for food safety.

Q. That is what I meant.
A. Yes. It would make you, perhaps, go back and have a
look at what the reason for those results were. That is
the whole idea of having that in there.

Q. I was going say your specification, your top limit, is
5,000,000 for chicken. Sun Valley's own specification or
own guidelines, top limit, is one million and we saw that a
moment ago?
A. Yes.

Q. This appears to reduce it to 500,000, does it not?
A. That is the second part of the McDonald's
specification, but it is on the raw meat, yes.

Q. In the raw meat.
A. The whole point of having a -----

Q. Yes, I had better go back.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You have an average at the end which, in any
event -- what you want is the summary. You have not only
the highest reading, you have the lowest reading, and then
you can look at the third column, the average, and that
