Day 159 - 20 Jul 95 - Page 35

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No, no. She has said that, but there is a
question of weight as well as admissibility, and I am just
telling you that all you need do is concern yourself with
the union campaign apart, of course, from anything else
which you choose to put of your own initiative.

                         (Short Adjournment)

                  Cross-Examined by the Defendants

MS. STEEL: You said that when you had the accident where you
broke your wrist that Mr. Giardina looked at it and then he
got John, one of the Managers, to pack it in ice. What was
John's position? Was he a Floor Manager?
       A. Yes, I think he was a Floor Manager.

  Q. Do you remember what his name was?
       A. No, I do not, no. No, I sorry, I cannot remember at
       the moment, dear.

  Q. The local store marketing that you were involved with, how
often do you have to work on that?
       A. I did not work every week on that. It was only when it
       arose in the store.

  Q. Are you not involved in that any more?
       A. Well, I do -- I still do some, yes, but not so much now
I am cutting my hours down.

  Q. Is there like a subgroup that deals with that?
       A. Yes.

  Q. So you have meetings?
       A. Yes, we have had meetings, but not many now, not -- we
had a young girl take over my position while I was away
last year -- I had to go into hospital to have an operation
-- and I was off for nearly four months, and so Surjean
       took over from me.

  Q. Who would be at the meetings? Was it people from a variety
of stores in the area or what?
       A. No. We used to go to those stores. Like I say, it was
discussed with the managers first what would happen, and
then we would go to the stores and discuss it with them.

  Q. So you came up with ideas for marketing at your store and
then you went around to the other stores?
       A. What we did, it was not always my idea, like, it might
have been the Managers or the Floor Manager, you know. We
all had our own ideas and we put them together.

  Q. How big was the team at your store?
       A. There was only two of us.

  Q. But sometimes Managers would make an input?
       A. Oh, yes, and from Head Office too.

  Q. Then, what, suggestions from Head Office, you then relayed
to other stores in the area?
       A. Yes, we used to have a local store marketer for a group
