Day 266 - 20 Jun 96 - Page 62
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well, I would rather, I am not prepared to
make any comment on that because I can perfectly easily
read his report overnight and we can come back to it in the
morning when Mr. Rampton has seen it as well. You must get
in touch with Lord Vestey, probably his solicitors or
either one of you ring Mr. Leggatt. Do you know who his
solicitors were, who his instructing solicitors were?

MS. STEEL: We have got a letter from them.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well, ring him this evening, as soon as you
get out of Court please.

MS. STEEL: Right. OK.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: And ask Lord Vesty's solicitor and explain
that we cannot have Lord Vesty's evidence on Thursday the
27th because of the Appeal and ask them to provide you with
a date when it will not be too inconvenient to Lord Vesty
to give evidence as soon as possible after that.

MS. STEEL: Right. Okay. Thank you.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I do not think it is worth suggesting that
Lord Vesty come in the afternoon of the Thursday the 27th
because you may well still be in the Court of Appeal.

MS. STEEL: Yes.

MR. MORRIS: I have got one other matter to bring up before we
rise.

MR. RAMPTON: Can I just say this? I have had a quick glance at
this report. I cannot say that it raises anything new. I
have not had that much of a look at it but it does seem to
make reference to some papers and events which I am not
sure I have already got. If I have not, then I ought to
have them.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well, I would like to come back to that first
thing in the morning before we call Mr. Olive. Not because
it affects my decision on whether any of your publication
witnesses should give evidence, but it affects other
matters so far as timetabling is concerned.

MR. MORRIS: Right.

MS. STEEL: Right.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: But I am not going to offer any more comment
on that, and it is now half-past-4. Unless there are other
matters we must deal with --

MS. STEEL: We have got the list of points--

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Has Mr.--

MS. STEEL: No. We have not photocopied it yet.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Well, if Mr. Reilly does not mind
