Day 193 - 28 Nov 95 - Page 21

on or, rather, the Labour Board has conveniently put its
"received" stamp over the date. But the dates on all the
       others are 9th, 10th, 11th -- or Jodie Morris's is dated
       the 12th, but not signed.

So what Mr. Rampton is asking you about is that the matters
which appear from the bottom of the third page of your
statement and on to the fourth page are all, in fact,
happening well after people had signed the petition for
whatever reason or made their statements to the Labour
Board for whatever reason. Do you follow that?
       A. Yes, I understand what are saying, but I do not -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No. I am not asking the question. I am
just making sure that you understand the chronology as
Mr. Rampton is putting it to you. Yes.

MR. RAMPTON: So the fact is, is it not, if that is right (which
it is chronologically), Cam did not have any need at all to
bribe or browbeat people into working for him?
       A. No, because that is not the fact. It did not -- free
food did not start on an exact specific day, and the free
hats; it was a continual effort.

  Q. Tell me something about the people in the crew. As you
have said, they are mostly young people, mostly people at
school, although there are some -----
       A. I missed the last of that.

  Q. Most of the people in the crew, the ordinary crew members,
are people who were still at school at this time?
       A. Yes.

  Q. People like yourself?
       A. Yes.

  Q. All roughly your age, a bit younger or a bit older?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Are they all, or were they all gormless zombies, or did
they have minds of their own?
       A. Were they -- sorry?

  Q. Did they have mind of their own, these young people?
       A. Yes, I believe they did.

  Q. Would you, do you think, have been bribed at that age by
       free food or Olympic hats?
       A. I, personally, would not have been, but many people
are. Many people can, you know -----

  Q. Can we have a look at this -- sorry.
       A. Many people, I believe, can be swayed very easily.

  Q. Can you look at the third paragraph on this page of your
statement: "At the McDonald's annual Christmas party,
management made a hysterical video of people goofing off at
work. This, I believe, was used as a brainwashing tactic."
Did you really mean what you wrote there?
       A. What I mean is that I believe McDonald's has an ability
